My wife and I have been visiting Coronado for the last several days, and yesterday afternoon, she mentioned to me that we should find a place without reservations that tastes much better than fast food. We looked up how to get to Burger Lounge, added their app, and looked at the menu to figure out which burgers we were craving. We were extremely impressed with the service we received for a restaurant that wasn't a sit-down restaurant, the taste of the burgers, and the quick texts we received from the restaurant when signing up with the app. We arrived to Burger Lounge around 7:15 PM on a weekday evening. There were a number of people sitting down in the chairs just outside as there was limited seating inside. We went right inside as someone else was wrapping up their order at the counter. We then were able to place an order almost immediately. I went for The "Classic" which consists of grass-fed beef, American cheese, organic ketchup, mustard, onion, and pickles. I substituted cheddar cheese. My wife chose the Ancient Grain Burger with a quinoa/veggie patty, choice of cheddar cheese or vegan cheddar (she chose regular cheddar cheese), lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and BL 1000 (which she left off). I also ordered a Real Chocolate Milk Shake. My wife, who usually just says that a meal was "okay" was raving about how great Burger Lounge is, and I also thought the burger and shake were amazing! The cashier and server were also so helpful and answered our questions and made sure we were doing well. The place was clean, and we felt comfortable sitting there while eating. When I added the app (https://www.burgerlounge.com/promotions/download-our-app), I entered my info and birthday and received a $5 off $30+ online order code. Also, since this is my birthday month, I also received a promo code for a free shake with no purchase necessary. When I was at the register and showed them the code, they gave me the shake with an in-person order. This particular location has a heated patio, serves beer and wine, offers catering, is pet friendly, and offers delivery. It had been a while (~ 1 yr) since I had last been, and what a sad state this place was in. Impossible burger was burnt, ridiculously thin, no taste. Veggie burger was also burnt (black on both sides), terrible consistency. Decorative panels outside look dirty. The place was empty on a summer Friday afternoon, that should've been my first red flag. As a side note to vegetarians, their fries are no longer vegetarian. All sides are now fried in tallow. I'm sure this is a company wide decision, not specific to this location, but what a bummer they don't even give you a choice. Sad to say I'm never going back. read more

I brought my family here for my son's birthday dinner (he loves French fries naturally) and was impressed by the quality of the burger. The truffle mushroom Swiss burger was flavorful, full of fried onions and delicious. All of the sides are al a carte which is disappointing because you're paying $15 for the burger alone. A year ago, friend recommended this place for their grass fed beef patties so we came here for my husband but I was pleasantly surprised at their in-house made Grain Vegetarian Burger. Main dishes: my husband tried the California burger. The bacon was crispy and the avocado added a nice touch. He said the burger didn't have excessive taste and was a little lack luster but overall, it's worth getting again. Apps: onion rings were crispy. Daily greens salad was great to share! We struggled a little with the wooden utensils but I appreciate that they were compostable and better fur the environment. Parking: if you're lucky to get street parking, that's ideal but it's a pretty busy road so unless you can parallel park under pressure, I'd park in the neighborhood behind the building or in the Vons paid parking lot. My family and I placed a to-go order at Burger Lounge today, and overall it was a good experience. The restaurant is located on a busy street, so it can be tough to find parking. We had five separate orders, and I appreciated that everything was accurate and neatly separated into different bags. I ordered the Lounge Burger with a side of half onion rings and fries. The onion rings were definitely the highlight--crispy and full of flavor. The burger had all the right ingredients, but the flavor didn't quite stand out for me. I'm surprised how much patio seating there is. It's a small place but they've used the space well. The music is a little loud. Why don't more places do Belgian style fries?? They're so good!! I love the variety here! It is definitely not a boring menu. I love the stainless steel trays although they do slide around if you need to cut your burger with a knife and fork. The knife and fork are lightweight wood and compostable. They did about as well as plastic would have but it was still hard to cut through all the layers of my Paleo Burger. Nice fresh veggies! Lots of chargrill flavor on the burger and bacon. So good. I loved my Modern Times Cold Brew milkshake even though the coffee flavor wasn't very strong. I'm very glad we came and we will be back!! This Burger Lounge was our go to. The quality of the food the attitude of the staff very very poor. I ordered a Combo for my kid the patty was NOT WELL DONE!! The burger was oily and saturated with sauce making the bun too soft. The man who took my order kept interrupting me when I tried to get specific. As I sat there and waited 20 minutes- it wasn't that busy I could hear the cooks speak in Spanish and English about hours staffing etc...instead of concentrating on cooking. It's all about the location and what you do with it. We love coming to Coronado and this was our first time at Burger Lounge. We found free nearby parking a block away and I ordered a codfish burger, large onion rings and an ipa. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the view of Orange and people watched. A lot came in to get their food to go. My food was delicious; the burger was one of the best I've ever had. It also isn't a big place but it's great s we hat they've done given the size and has an awesome vibe. My one complaint would be that the large onion rings weren't very large. Aside from the delicious burgers and fries prepared to your liking, it's a wonderful place to people watch, and oogle (wink). Take care while eating or you may bite your tongue in the process. I do enjoy burger lounge, but this location is lacking on multiple fronts. Seating area is small, and service is the worst out of the four different locations I go to. Kids burger was only half a patty, and asked about the size and was told that the portion kids get. Not sure why they even bothered with the other half of the bun. I don't mind paying more for great food, but this place has poor quality and I still paid $80+. I won't be going back to this location. Head towards little Italy or north park area.
