We finally decided to give it a try, and honestly, my expectations were pretty low at first. Amazing quality and stellar service. I'm staying at the Pali hotel and wanted a burger and fries to go. The woman at the front counter was so nice and I watched her cook my order. Food: The food was below average. The burger was bland, under-seasoned, and not worth the price. Fries were mediocre at best. Overall, I'd give the food a 4/10. Service: The service is what really tanked the experience. My server tried to claim my ID was fake and then made an inappropriate joke about "military people not tipping." Completely unprofessional and unnecessary. It set a negative tone for the entire visit. Service easily earns a 2/10, and that's generous. Bottom Line: There are plenty of places in Gaslamp where you can get better food and respectful service. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this spot based on my experience. read more

Juiciest burger I've had in a while. Came here and was greeted by the cashier, cashier recommended us getting the bbq bourbon burger and spicy house burger. We were a group of 3 so we shared the burgers. My favorite was the bbq burger. We made eat burger a double and their patty had so much flavor and was super juicy. I was looking for something to eat at 1:30am on a Saturday night and Gaslamp Burger caught my eye because it was bright and the sign said 100% grass fed beef. Despite the streets and restaurant area being overcrowded with young, loud, partygoers, we still decided to get some food at Gaslamp Burger. When we first arrived, there was a fight that was about to break out between a worker and customer, but luckily it didn't. We tried their SD Burger ($11) and a side of fries ($4.50). The SD burger is similar to their House Burger (cheeseburger), but for $1 more, you get caramelized onions, bacon, and avocado. Upon first bite, the burger was incredibly juicy and delicious! The patty was cooked perfectly and the extra toppings made it so much better. The fries were also cooked just right and very tasty. Overall, the burger and fries were excellent! The only thing negative about eating here was that there there was so much drama going on from late night, drunk or high partygoers that were starting fights, throwing beer bottles, and messing up the bathroom. It made dining in a little uncomfortable. It definitely does not seem easy for a business to deal with crowds of rowdy, obnoxious, customers in the area. No flavor and very disappointing food especially having waited AN HOUR AND EIGHT MINUTES for what should have been ready in 15 minutes tops. No they didn't forget our order. We were checking up on our food every 15 minutes so it's not like they're generally fast but just forgot us. They literally took an hour to make disappointing cold food. I like their attitude and the people were nice. But as a restaurant, it's a joke. Please improve! It came with three sauces bbq, blue cheese and buffalo-but the wings were cooked perfectly, that I didn't need any of the sauces, so I can't tell you how those taste. I'm not sure what the folks are doing at this restaurant, but they missed the mark on a lot of things. Our order was almost $150 for six of us, so I was expecting better quality food. The beef had too much char and the toppings were not fresh. The French fries were undercooked and the chicken in my mom's Caesar salad was that mechanically separated fried garbage they served us at lunchtime in elementary school. The restaurant was filfthy-we were sliding on the floor and the bathroom was even more disgusting. There were holes in the wall in the bathroom and the woman working didn't know what a grilled cheese was. We should have paid more attention to the fact that several of the restaurants near this restaurant had lots of people in them, but Gaslamp Burger had no customers. My friend got the nacho fries and those were a big disappointment - essentially like something I would have expected to get at a Wiener schnitzel but worse and way more expensive.
