    Barrio cheeseburger with fries!
    Mikey H.

One of the best burgers in town! It has been a while since we've stopped by, only because there's this odd sound that comes from somewhere in the neighborhood and Cako doesn't like it. The owner was working, said it has been a while since she's seen us, and then said to bring Cako in. It was about 2 pm so it wasn't busy, just one other table outside. Got the Barrio cheeseburger with bacon and fries. I love their fries! So nice and crispy! But that burger is cooked so well! And as always, a Jarritos! Great place to come to! Cako still Approves!

My brother saw this place online and it had good reviews so we decided to stop by as we were in the area doing some shopping and were hungry. We both got the Barrio Cheese Burger and shared some fries and a drink for my brother. Cost was about $30. Burgers were excellent and served with a house sauce, cheese, pickles, lettuce and tomato. Pickles were not to vinegary and seemed fresh. Patties were 5 ounces and juicy. The buns were nicely toasted.Fries were good too. Service was good and had a casual ambiance. Would definitely come back if I'm in the area.

The food was so delicious! La Especial burger and the Barrio burger is what we got. The papas delicious Barrio were outstanding! Gaby was so nice and service was excellent. Music was good! 5 star for sure! We will return!

Had the Barrio Burger Especial... wow what an amazing burger, 10/10. The bacon jam and barrio sauce were so good. I'm going back to try a double with bacon soon. I also had the La Trompuda, Papas Sucias and onion rings. All these items were good but I definitely prefer the Barrio Burger over the La Trompuda. The service was great, I would recommend this place to anyone! Probably the best burger I've had in my visits to San Diego.

I appreciated the simple and straightforward menu with some unique items that caught my eye. Ordered our food-to-go and got a couple of different items. The Barrio Burger Especial was really good and very flavorful. The same can be said about La Trompuda which is basically an Al Pastor burger. I really liked pineapple and bacon wrapped pepper on top. It's interesting having it in a 'burger' form vs. a more traditional taco/torta. I think it still works great. We also got the Papas Sucias which were delicious. Everything was made very well and I really enjoyed all the flavors of each dish.

Great burger spot for burger lovers. Great customer service! Good food. In the heart of Barrio Logan corner of Beardsley & Newton. Excellent spot for lunch as they food service is pretty quick. Plenty of seating indoors and out, street parking can be a little scarce at times. The Barrio Burger Especial is a must try comes with a tasty bacon jam. Not too sweet just right gives the burger a distinct delightful taste.

Popped over to Barrio Burger before I started my volunteer shift at the Convention Center. (For those of you who wander, it's only a half hour walk.) Ordered the La Trompuda burger and fries which came with complementary amazing and friendly service. Food was prepared quickly and delivered with a smile and The Anti-Fly Force Field [fan to keep flies off] not sure it was needed, but very nice to have that thoughtful touch. Everything is amazing and I'll be back!

I took my wife and daughter here to try a burger and sides a week ago and it was so good we went again yesterday! This is the best burger in San Diego, especially the Angus beef burger. The traditional burger they make here is really good too, cold fresh lettuce, a really good tomato, and pickles with a bun that is a great compliment to fresh ingredients and great preparation. The service was outstanding also. The menu is a simple one, the corn ribs were a very clever preparation and very tasty. The onion rings were the best we have had, a perfect crunchy batter over a nicely sized onion slice. We will be back to try every item on the menu, this place rocks!

I would say that this was a very good/solid burger, but not a great burger. When you get a double, it's very hearty, So I feel like you're getting your moneys worth as far as heft. I don't feel like they skimp out at all. This is not a Smashburger, this is more like a upscale backyard barbecue or Burger King kind of style. I feel like the aftertaste of the burger reminded me of the char taste you would get on a whopper. But not necessarily in a bad way it's just kind of like threw me off because I thought maybe it was gonna be more of like a griddle burger. The strawberry milkshake was outstanding. The onion rings were hot and delicious. I kind of wish that there were some more of them. On the flipside, the serving size of the macaroni and cheese is massive. It's very cheesy and very creamy and probably not my taste, but I would not say it's bad. It's just not my style of mac & cheese that I love. I would definitely say that this place is worth checking out if you're in the area but what I tell someone that it's worth driving 20 to 30 minutes to go eat or would I wait in the line for 30 minutes to eat this burger, probably not. But it's a very clean establishment, the service is really nice. It did not take long to get my food and I feel like the price point is pretty good.

This is a new burger spot we found a Downtown in a corner street location. The burgers are massive, juicy and flavorful. Both regular and sweet potato fries are so crispy. The staff is accommodating, service was fast and I love their free banana peppers!

Tried Barrio Burger for the first time. Something new was the La Trompuda (Al Pastor with pineapple and chipotle sauce). It was a twist and it worked however, the Pastor could have been marinated a bit more spicy. Papas del Barrio, a mixture of fries, Al Pastor, pineapple and chipotle alioli also a good mix but could have used more Al Pastor in it but a good mix and tasty. The service was great. The female at the front took our order. Delivered the food to our table and checked in us a few times to see if we needed anything. Top notch in my book. The ambiance was good. People trickled in slowly one after the other and everyone was friendly. All in all it was a good experience but a bit much for the price and the amount you get but I'll be back.

Such a simple menu but it has a little bit of everything so it's perfect. The La Trompuda is one of the best burgers I've had in my life. It has so much flavor and textures, even comes with a bacon wrapped jalapeño on top. I've never had anything like it. The only thing I wish was more flavor from the pineapple. Upon first glance, I thought it was cheese. It had no flavor. The burger would've been fine without it but to enhance the burger, if the pineapple were grilled or had more flavor, it would add such a nice extra kick of flavor to the overall burger! The meat though was so good, I wish I could've taken a Tupperware of it home so I could make tacos out of it. The corn ribs are a bit overpriced and come with 4 pieces. It was cooked perfectly and had a burst of flavor though. If it came with a couple of lime wedges, it would've enhanced the flavor there too. The fries, El Mac, and shakes are good and are fairly priced. The sauces are good but 75 cents each is a bit steep. There are a few tables inside and outside. Our table was a little dirty but Staff noticed right away and came over to wipe it down. Staff were friendly and open to my feedback. We'll be back to try other things!

Onion rings were ok. Nothing to rave about honestly. The portions are big and the quality of the food is very good. The breading and seasoning on the chicken was tasty AF. Secondarily, the burgers are 1/4 lb and a single is plenty for a normal person. Lastly, the rings were thicc and GBD. Unfortunately, we sat in traffic for 3 hrs from OC, when it normally takes 1 1/2 hrs: We were really hungry, and Hodads met our needs. Regarding the ambiance, its a bit grunge but np for me. The name has a whole lot of nostalgia in SD. The service was friendly & warm. Our food came out quickly. The only downside was the chicken & rings needed some kinda sauce, but otherwise everything else was great. Would def return the next time I am in the area.

Pros: I got the half-pound burger with fries and it was really good overall. The burger was super juicy, well-cooked, and had that classic hearty, satisfying taste you want from a solid burger spot. The portion size was generous, especially with the half-pound patty, and the fries were a great side to round out the meal. The location in Pacific Beach is also a big plus. It's in a great area with lots going on, so it's easy to grab food and walk around afterward or make it part of a beach day. The overall vibe of the spot feels casual and fitting for PB--nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done right. Cons: Since it's in a busy beach area, parking and crowds can be a bit of a challenge depending on the time you go. It's more of a casual grab-and-go or quick dine-in spot, so don't expect a sit-down restaurant experience with a lot of space or quiet seating. During peak beach hours, it can also get pretty busy. The half-pound burger and fries hit the spot, and it's a solid choice for a casual meal before or after hanging out in PB.
