This is my first time actually trying their food because the last time I just bought the works and fries for my mom . Parking here is hard I had to wait for someone to leave. Decided we would give this place another shot and am happy to report that all is good now. We ordered two cheesesteaks and an order of frings with ranch to go. The gentleman who took our order was friendly and repeated our order back to us and let us know the order would be ready within 15 minutes. All of the food was pretty good, they give you a generous amount of onion rings as part of the frings which we appreciated. Bread is important in a cheesesteak and their bread is good and soft. I was able to experience today the amazing sandwich world of Giorgino's, which is just north of the 94 freeway on 28th St. in my quest to find the best sandwiches in San Diego, my search led me here, and I definitely found a gem that I will be returning to The inside of the restaurant takes you back to the family Italian restaurants of the East Coast, with a small bar and surrounding dining room. There were so many things I wanted to try this first time: Giorgino's offers a litany of different sandwich options, most notably hot sausage and Parmesan subs as well as different levels of seasoning on their cheesesteaks and chicken cheesesteak subs. For my first time in, I opted for the gaucho cheesesteak sandwich with mushrooms, chimichurri, and melted mozzarella cheese. It did not disappoint: it was intensely flavorful, scalding hot to the bite and covered in melted cheese. The chimichurri taste of the steak was exactly what I was looking for. I was tempted to put cheese whiz on it, but opted not to this first time. I also stayed away from the pesto or garlic fries, as I was eating this meal in the car. Service was friendly, and the cheesesteak came out promptly within five minutes as I relaxed at the bar and took in part of the day's college football games from the TV that hung above. It is notable that Giorgino's get it's sausage and meats from the butcher across the street, Sepulveda Meats & Provisions, which makes its sausage on-site. Bravo. read more

Usually the inside is toasted on the griddle, or I don't know, just not be cold. My bread actually seemed stale as the ends were hard, as in I couldn't even bite through it anymore.
