The food and the service was incredible! Went here with family to just have lunch. Me and my parents were waiting for my other family members to arrive. Nothing but good vibes! Our server, I think her name was Adriana or Adriene sorry if I got it wrong was the most helpful and sweetest server ever! The food you cannot beat everything was good from the appetizers to the main courses. Oh and don't forget the drinks! Highly recommended if you are in the area! And they had the World Cup playing! That was a super plus!

Stayed at Hotel Coronado and had a terrible experience at one of their restaurants, so in a 'fool me once' decision, we decided not to eat on property again, and we came over to Bluewater. Old School Seafood spot with excellent service. We had delicious oysters, NE Clam Chowder, a lobster roll and a Louie Salad. Soup was very tasty. Lobster Roll was very good, but the roll is too big and it looks like a smaller amount of lobster than it is. So it kind of detracts from the enjoyment. Still, a good sandwich and good fries. Louie was good, but oddly served with mixed greens rather than traditional romaine or iceberg. While it was good, I'd pass on this one with mixed greens. While not perfect, we'd definitely return.

Another wonderful dining experience at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Restaurant in Coronado! We started with the garlic Parmesan fries and a spicy tuna roll, both of which were delicious. Our fantastic server, Reid, recommended a High Spot, 182 IPA that paired perfectly with our meal. We were lucky to be seated on the second floor, where the breathtaking waterfront views made the experience even more special. To finish, we ordered the Firecracker Shrimp with minced garlic and chili flakes--packed with flavor and the perfect ending to our meal. The relaxing atmosphere, attentive service, and stunning views made this the perfect place to unwind. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Coronado!

Visited again with daughter and son in law and granddaughter ... did not disappoint! Sat upstairs during happy hour and enjoyed our shared appetizers and drinks! Excellent service and food! Atmosphere is wonderful! We prefer sitting on the second floor when possible for the breeze abd the views! Definitely recommend for a coronado experience!

This place was so good we went three times during our stay. The first time, we had drinks at the bar. Ben, the bartender, was very attentive and made great suggestions. The next visit, we had the cold lobster roll with fries, blackened fish and chips. The lobster roll was so good! The buttered roll was delish! The blackened catfish was SUPER spicy! My husband loved it. On our last visit, we had the Manhattan clam chowder, the New England clam chowder, prawns & linguine, and the bouillabaisse. The chowders were so good. I could have just eaten those and been happy. If you can't decide between the two, they will give you half and half - mixed. The prawns were HUGE and tender. The sauce on the linguine was light and bursting with herby goodness. My husband loved the bouillabaisse which was full of fish, scallops, mussels, etc. The restaurant sits in Glorietta Bay which is just across the street from the Hotel del Coronado. It's very coastal in feel and decor. Hannah and Alec were our servers on both of the dinner nights. Both were excellent servers.

Not bad. The location is great. The parking is much easier. The food is.....generically decent. Mai tai had a respectable amount of rum in it. I like that they had a red manhattan chowder in addition to the normal white chowder. Although, the seafood flavor was still subdued as usual, nowhere close to what I prefer. Edamame was fine. Fish tacos were also just a very standard, bland American flavor with cabbage and tomato, but the fish was not bad. Java mud pie was good. As a personal preference, I did find that the chocolate and crust were a bit hard.

I loved everything about this place. Had a table on 2nd floor with a marina view. A cute seagull visited us for quite sometime outside our window. Warm and tasty thick sliced sourdough. Great wine. Crab cakes to die for. The main dishes were fantastic, fresh, mouth watering, had variety, very flavorful and big portions, Super friendly and professional service. Price was right. Love. Love. LOVE

Great seafood at the marina, with beautiful views. One of the best New England clam chowders I've ever had, and Manhattan chowder was almost just as good! The mussels and clams were really fresh. Solid service!

The iconic cupola style consistent with the historical character of the Hotel Del Coronado, this restaurant which was once a boat house has been serving fantastic seafood surrounded by stunning views of Glorietta Bay. Plenty of free parking on the lot steps away from the entrance. The covered outdoor patio is our preferred seating. Views of the bay, boats, and mini yachts docked is always fun to see. Have dined here a few times and we always order our favorites: spicy Bloody Mary, Sand Dabs and Norwegian Salmon all presented nicely and tasted as good as it looked. Service from the staff and waitress all times we were here was cordial, attentive and accommodating. There were times we sent back something for being too salty and the kitchen were accommodating and apologetic enough to correct it or offer another dish as they should. Have only dined here during late lunch but I've heard the Happy Hour and dinner times are great and gets busy and a fun to do. Sipping on a spirited drink with spectacular bay views is living the good life... Bluewater cheers!! Recommend

We came here for dinner the other night for the first time. Funny enough, we originally meant to go to Blue Water and thought this was the same restaurant as the ones in OB and Point Loma -- turns out it's a similar name, but a completely different restaurant (those are just "Blue Water"). We were seated right away, which was great. We ordered the calamari and clam chowder to start. For mains, my husband had the pan-seared striped bass, I ordered the misoyaki cod, and our friend had the swordfish. Overall, the food was mediocre for the price. The standout dish for us was the clam chowder -- it was the only thing we really enjoyed. My misoyaki cod lacked flavor; I could barely taste the miso and it felt like it needed to be marinated longer. The rice that came with it was also overly greasy, too much soy sauce on the bottom, almost like too much oil or butter, and I couldn't finish it. My husband's striped bass tasted better than my dish, and the swordfish was just okay. Overall, for what you pay, we weren't very impressed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to our expectations.

Fabulous food, great service the best water front table anywhere!! We had the best table in the restaurant with fabulous harbor front view! I am happy to sit there! Our server is friendly and professional, providing us with excellent service. I can't help but to order the house favorite! Not all fish and chips are made equal. This is the best I have ever had so far. Each beer battered crust is so crispy I can hear the sound of it! Inside cod fish cube are so tender and juice and is cooked to perfection! Even the fries, coleslaw are delicious! The crab legs and artichoke dipping sauce has a perfectly baked golden crust on top and is very delicious! When we visit Beautiful San Diego again this Bluewater Boat House will be my MUST return restaurant! See you soon!

Combo Pot of Mussels & Clams

Food + service + ambience= must visit! Stopped for a quick bite and sat at the bar. Had the best service from Liana, super friendly and knowledgeable. Ordered the combo steamed shellfish and it did NOT disappoint. Clams and mussels in a garlicky white wine sauce. Soaked it all up with some sourdough bread. Delish! Also met the manager Sean who originally greeted me at the door with a smile and seated me.

FANTASTIC! Absolutely will visit this place every time I'm in the area. I've already spread the…read moreword to a bunch of family and friends. This is very high on my list. Before I get started on the hundreds of amazing things to say about this place, let's start off with one "annoying" thing. It was hard to find. There were absolutely no signs in the hotel pointing you to where the restaurants would be. We also asked several hotel staff members and got even more confused. Once we found the little strip of several restaurants, we accidentally walked right past it thinking it was apart of the NoBu restaurant. Now that I know where it is, I'll know exactly where to go. Let's talk about all the GOOD! The view was beautiful. There were lots of kids playing on the grass in front of the restaurant but the way they set up the place, it wasn't loud at all and cute to see. The staff members were on top of their game. Nothing went unnoticed! They all worked as a team. The Knowledge about the restaurant, the food, and the drinks was very impressive. Even if you couldn't decide, they would happily guide you to make the right choices. - I want to give a shoutout to Mark our waiter. He was an absolute delight. He was witty, knowledgeable, lead us in the right direction, and spoiled us for our birthday celebration dinner. He made the experience 10x better. About the food...I'm still thinking about the delicious food they served and it's been weeks since I was there. I want to put extra attention on the halibut ceviche, WOW! That needs to be a staple is you visit, it's a must try. Also please don't ever take this off the menu! I would solely travel out here just for the alone and buy 5 at a time (yes it was that good). The sauce they put it in makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Everything here is very unique and worth it. There wasn't one bad food item at all. Plus the drinks, were so smooth. If for whatever reason you wanted to alter your drink (like someone at my party did) they were happy to accommodate and then they also executed perfectly. It is a little bit on the pricier side, but once you experience the service, the extra care, and the delicious food you can confidently say it's worth it. I hope more people experience this place, they deserve more than five stars.

With all the hype on the menu and the creativity in the design, I will say that Breakfast this morning was fair to poor We ordered the melon and Stracciatella... for the amount of money we paid for this dish. You could've at least given us some heirloom melon instead of the basic unripened, honeydew and cantaloupe with a bit of salt, shaved, mint, and strata, right out of the package. Poorly done. Also, your Baklava French toast, This had nothing to do with baklava because you candied a few pistachios and put an anglaise on the bottom of the plate. Then topped it with some strawberry marmalade. Which again has nothing to do with baklava. Perhaps you could've put some kataifi Filo on there and given it the real crunch that it deserved. Again for the price we paid. This was also poorly done. Enjoyed your pitaquillas they were flavorful and unique and creative, but I'll tell you overall this meal did not meet the price whatsoever. Once again we pay for the seat and the view and not the food. While our server was a gentlemen, his knowledge and education of the menu definitely was a good reflection of his seasoned training, but he did not carry throughout the service. He was pretty distant for long periods of time such as almost 15 minutes before we were even greeted and then long periods of time throughout our meal and even looking for him again to get our check once the manager was sent to go retrieve him. With an establishment this large, and such high standards. I expect much more. Hotel Del you got a lot to learn and so does your management in allowing a menu of this caliber to be sold at these prices at such a landmark establishment ***** $49 to have my vehicle parked whaaaat, and the Valet asked me how long I'm gonna be here. Lol you just parked a $111,000 EV Hummer. Leave me alone. It's none of your business. As long as I'm spending $200 to $300 and having some meals, I'll stay here as long as I want. Just park my car ...lol i'm walking on the beach too. You can find me there.!

If I ever get married, instead of having cake, my guests will be having skillet cookies for dessert instead. Some might say I love skillet cookies even more than Scottie Scheffler. My love for skillet cookies runs deeper than the Mariana trench and I've been to more than (at least) 11 restaurants to exclusively try them out. With that out of the way... I'm horrified to report this is the worst skillet cookie I've ever had in my entire life. It somehow felt overcooked, yet undercooked at the same time. It was also like they cooked it at an angle. Because it awkwardly occupied 3/4ths of the skillet. It had the consistency of a cake but the taste of a cookie? It was like they couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to make a cake or a cookie. So instead, they decided to half bake something that was in between. I couldn't believe it. It was also completely lacking in the chocolate chip department. All in all, this skillet cookie had a worse performance than Michael Jordan during his high school varsity tryouts. I'll admit it too... I completely lied to the waitress when she came over and asked me how the cookie was. Instead of telling her the truth, I gave her two thumbs up and said, " it's good!".... It was not good. It was terrible! I'm a coward.

The bar in the restaurant is great, with a couple of nice TVs for sports, and the somewhat dark, basement-oriented style of the restaurant is really cool and unique. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Grilled Bacon & Blistered Shishito Pepper Burger. While the burger looked delicious, and tasted decent, I had higher hopes for it. I was wanting the burger to be a bit more juicy and spicy. While there is some room for improvement there, it's definitely still a place I'll be back to!

My only complaint was that we didn't get to sit in the disco room--it looked so fun and was definitely one of the coolest parts of the restaurant. We skipped the cocktail menu and ordered pornstar martinis instead, and they were incredible. The passionfruit tasted fresh and natural, not overly sweet or artificial. For food, we shared the mozzarella sticks with caviar crème fraîche ($23), which came with a surprisingly generous portion of caviar. We also ordered the Caesar salad, which was a great size for sharing, and the Starlight Burger with a Wagyu patty and fries. Everything was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The service was just as impressive. Our server was attentive without being overbearing and checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, every part of the experience was on point. Great food, great drinks, great service, and such a fun atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

Parking is a nightmare good luck finding parking within a mile of the restaurant. Pros: atmosphere, drinks, service Cons: food wasn't great for the price, restaurant was small and crowded, no parking Service: All of our servers were friendly and very accommodating. Gave us some knowledge on the menu and recommended cocktails based on our preference. I had spilled my drink and they were quick to make me another one. Food: I had intended to get the prime ribeye cap steak but they ran out for the night around 8pm. I shared the steak sampler which came with four different cuts of steak and 4 sauces. I ordered medium and it was cooked medium/medium rare which was fine with me, it also had a good sear, almost burnt though. Out of the four steaks, we only liked two based off flavor and tenderness. The other two were more tough and gamey. None of the sauces really stood out but the bordelaise and horseradish were good. For our sides we got fries, roasted broccoli, and the grilled wedge salad. Fries were average. The roasted broccoli had really good flavor, I expected the broccoli to be al dente but it was cooked to mush and drenched in sauce. The grilled wedge salad was decent, there was a slightly bitter taste to it. I know it says grilled wedge but the experience of biting into the salad and it being both hot and cold was not pleasant. Cocktails: I tried the Honey Ryder and New Wave. These were recommended as the more fruity/sweet cocktails. You can definitely taste the alcohol but it's only 2oz so it's not too strong. Ambience: 10/10 I got seated downstairs by the bar. Only thing about downstairs is that it's too dark to take photos unless you use flash. Overall, I agree with the other reviews saying to go just for drinks and appetizers. I would go again just to sit upstairs and get drinks and take pictures. We left unsatisfied and ended up getting in-n-out after.

Most recently we were there for an event and as always, they were nothing short of exceptional! The drinks are always fantastic but what really elevates this place is the staff. They always have the best attitude, they are so accommodating, and you can tell they want you to enjoy your experience in every way. During our most recent visit, Lamar really went above and beyond to ensure our group was able to all be together for an event. I'm so very grateful for his assistance and wanted to say thank you again for everything! This place is an absolute must each time we visit, and I would highly recommend adding it to your list to try!

Staff was also not very attentive to guests' needs, rather just going through the motions. For instance, they noted "standing room only" and that they would eventually seat our party of two. They walked us to an exact spot on the floor to stand and view the menu in the dark (we used our phone flashlights, but it wasn't easy while carrying our belongings too), and they instructed us not to order at the bar in this colorful but dimly lit tiki lounge. We essentially ordered from staff who took our order in the middle of the floor, then we had to hold our drinks, some that came with additional shot glasses, in full hands, as we were never seated. We did find a barrel to set our drinks on later, but their process and expectations for guests was just really weird and impractical. The theme and decor of the setting was lovely, with moments of a lightning and thunder effect that made the experience more immersive. But we were not impressed by the sticky menus and sticky floor, nor the lack of service and minimal help from staff while there. We made the most of our time at False Idol regardless of their shortcomings. The bombay sling and enigma de muerte were pretty decent in quality and flavor, so it's safe to say the drinks aren't the problem here. And though we probably won't return, it was cool for a one-time experience.
