Great seafood at the marina, with beautiful views. One of the best New England clam chowders I've ever had, and Manhattan chowder was almost just as good! The mussels and clams were really fresh. Solid service!

Food was amazing. We drove from LA to check this place out because the menu really peeked our interest. We sat outside to feel the fresh air and be by the water and our server was very helpful. He suggested his favorites and we decided among his choices what sounded the best although everything sounded great. As you see the food came out beautifully and not only that delicious. Menu selections vary depending on when you come and no reservations for such a nice place was very nice.

Not bad. The location is great. The parking is much easier. The food is.....generically decent. Mai tai had a respectable amount of rum in it. I like that they had a red manhattan chowder in addition to the normal white chowder. Although, the seafood flavor was still subdued as usual, nowhere close to what I prefer. Edamame was fine. Fish tacos were also just a very standard, bland American flavor with cabbage and tomato, but the fish was not bad. Java mud pie was good. As a personal preference, I did find that the chocolate and crust were a bit hard.

Shrimp and scallops with linguini and pesto cream sauce.

I loved everything about this place. Had a table on 2nd floor with a marina view. A cute seagull visited us for quite sometime outside our window. Warm and tasty thick sliced sourdough. Great wine. Crab cakes to die for. The main dishes were fantastic, fresh, mouth watering, had variety, very flavorful and big portions, Super friendly and professional service. Price was right. Love. Love. LOVE

Amazing experience and the food was delicious. Paul recommended the blackened swordfish and it didn't disappoint! Service was fantastic and atmosphere was peaceful right on the water.

The iconic cupola style consistent with the historical character of the Hotel Del Coronado, this restaurant which was once a boat house has been serving fantastic seafood surrounded by stunning views of Glorietta Bay. Plenty of free parking on the lot steps away from the entrance. The covered outdoor patio is our preferred seating. Views of the bay, boats, and mini yachts docked is always fun to see. Have dined here a few times and we always order our favorites: spicy Bloody Mary, Sand Dabs and Norwegian Salmon all presented nicely and tasted as good as it looked. Service from the staff and waitress all times we were here was cordial, attentive and accommodating. There were times we sent back something for being too salty and the kitchen were accommodating and apologetic enough to correct it or offer another dish as they should. Have only dined here during late lunch but I've heard the Happy Hour and dinner times are great and gets busy and a fun to do. Sipping on a spirited drink with spectacular bay views is living the good life... Bluewater cheers!! Recommend

Spicy Avalon Roll. Also had the calamari, clam chowder in a bread bowl, steamed clams

Great food and got seated at a great table. Service was quick and attentive. Paying for what you get at this place and portions are bigger than other places we ate while visiting. Highly recommend if you are looking for a seafood place in Coronado

We came here for dinner the other night for the first time. Funny enough, we originally meant to go to Blue Water and thought this was the same restaurant as the ones in OB and Point Loma -- turns out it's a similar name, but a completely different restaurant (those are just "Blue Water"). We were seated right away, which was great. We ordered the calamari and clam chowder to start. For mains, my husband had the pan-seared striped bass, I ordered the misoyaki cod, and our friend had the swordfish. Overall, the food was mediocre for the price. The standout dish for us was the clam chowder -- it was the only thing we really enjoyed. My misoyaki cod lacked flavor; I could barely taste the miso and it felt like it needed to be marinated longer. The rice that came with it was also overly greasy, too much soy sauce on the bottom, almost like too much oil or butter, and I couldn't finish it. My husband's striped bass tasted better than my dish, and the swordfish was just okay. Overall, for what you pay, we weren't very impressed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to our expectations.

Fabulous food, great service the best water front table anywhere!! We had the best table in the restaurant with fabulous harbor front view! I am happy to sit there! Our server is friendly and professional, providing us with excellent service. I can't help but to order the house favorite! Not all fish and chips are made equal. This is the best I have ever had so far. Each beer battered crust is so crispy I can hear the sound of it! Inside cod fish cube are so tender and juice and is cooked to perfection! Even the fries, coleslaw are delicious! The crab legs and artichoke dipping sauce has a perfectly baked golden crust on top and is very delicious! When we visit Beautiful San Diego again this Bluewater Boat House will be my MUST return restaurant! See you soon!

Crispy Calamari

My wife and I had a gift card for a decent amount for Bluewater Grill. We were sat outside and it was a little chilly - sadly the heater didn't provide enough warmth but the food made up for it. We started with crispy calamari and it was nicely cooked and provided a nice start to our yummy dinner. My wife got the Ahi which was light and flavorful. I got the Black Cod and it was perfectly cooked. The green beans were nice additions to both of our plates. I typically don't get fish at a restaurant but when in Rome... It was an enjoyable dinner and Bluewater Grill definitely had my recommendation.

First time having lunch at Bluewater Grill in Coronado. It sits next to the marina, opposite of Hotel Del Coronado. According to its website, "the iconic cupola-adorned landmark was built in 1887 as a design prototype for the Hotel del Coronado located across the street". It has the same red/ white facade as the famous hotel. We sat next to the water under heat lamp. We ordered the crab and avocado salad, crab cakes appetizers and pan-seared salmon entree and had complimentary sourdough bread and butter. Everything was so delicious, especially the salmon which was seared perfectly. Before we knew it, we realized we have forgotten to take photos of the food! Our server was very delightful. Great lunch!

Seared Ahi Salad! This was the BEST SALAD EVER!
Kathy B.

This is our GO-TO place whenever one of us is craving seafood! This seared ahi salad is AMAZING ! I can't say enough good things about this salad and the restaurant overall! From the salad to fish and chips to tacos or sandwiches! This place has all your seafood cravings covered! They recently upgraded inside and now offer a FULL bar! You can sit outside on the patio, at the bar or at one of their many tables. The food is top notch and you can even buy fresh catch of the day and take it home! The service is excellent in a casual relaxed atmosphere. The views from outside are spectacular especially if you go around sunset! Don't over look this place! I almost don't want everyone to come because I don't want to have to wait any longer than we already have to! Best seafood in San Diego!

Unfortunately, our most recent visit was one of the strangest and most disappointing restaurant experiences we have had in a long time. We brought a guest visiting from out of town and were honestly embarrassed by how poor the experience was from start to finish. The restaurant was only about one quarter full on a weekday evening, yet service was shockingly slow and disorganized. It started with our server fumbling through reservation lists trying to find our name, then acting annoyed when we ordered specific cocktails. At one point, he even asked if we were "old enough to drink," which came off as rude and bizarre. The first round of drinks took around 20 minutes and arrived poorly made. We then waited another 40 minutes just to place entree orders, despite barely seeing our server after appetizers arrived. Ordering a second round somehow went even worse. The server rolled his eyes, made annoyed noises, and acted inconvenienced that we were ordering more drinks at a restaurant charging premium prices. One drink, a dirty martini, took about 30 minutes and arrived with a greasy film on top from bleu cheese olives sitting in it far too long. We asked for a manager, who apologized but then asked whether we wanted sweet or dry vermouth in a dirty martini, which did not inspire much confidence. The remake came back not dirty at all and had to be remade again. After nearly two hours, our entrees finally arrived. The plates were dropped on the table without a word. The chicken and fish were passable, but the sides were awful. Cold, lifeless, and completely forgettable. The broccolini was especially bad. We complained again, and the manager offered to comp the bill. Even then, it took another long wait just to close out. I eventually handed the server $100 cash because we simply wanted to leave and still tip something despite the experience. He then shoved the check open in my face and said, "There's your bill." What made this so disappointing is that we used to love this place. It was somewhere we proudly brought visitors. Instead, we left apologizing to our guest for how uncomfortable and confusing the entire night was. We do not care about free food or comps. We care about receiving a decent dining experience at a restaurant charging $30 cocktails and premium entree prices. Serea has declined dramatically, and management needs to take a hard look at both service standards and overall execution. Do better.

We had the fancy Hot Chocolate Croissant with fresh creme and strawberries. The Croissant was a little touch to eat... had to use a knife to cut through it. I'd pass on the croissant next time and stick with the hot chocolate, strawberries, and creme. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. I had NO IDEA how popular this spot was, nor anything about its nation-wide reputation. I actually didn't know that until two days ago when a Yelp-friend at home here in Richmond, Virginia, exclaimed excitedly when I told her we stopped in. The host who greeted us was kind, informed us there had been a line to get in that day, but that they had one barrel left; we jumped on it of course. It was happy hour, so the first cocktail I ordered was dirt cheap at $9. It was the Imperial Hawaiian with gin, rum, lemon, pineapple, and orgeat.
