Firecracker Shrimp in lettuce wrap
Jojo B.

Another wonderful dining experience at Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Restaurant in Coronado! We started with the garlic Parmesan fries and a spicy tuna roll, both of which were delicious. Our fantastic server, Reid, recommended a High Spot, 182 IPA that paired perfectly with our meal. We were lucky to be seated on the second floor, where the breathtaking waterfront views made the experience even more special. To finish, we ordered the Firecracker Shrimp with minced garlic and chili flakes--packed with flavor and the perfect ending to our meal. The relaxing atmosphere, attentive service, and stunning views made this the perfect place to unwind. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Coronado!

I love this place and I love eating yummy seafood by the water, so this is definitely a great place. I sat at the bar and had excellent service and a pleasant time. The food was even better. I love their Caesar salad, the oysters, and the bread. Everything is just so fresh and delicious!

Stayed at Hotel Coronado and had a terrible experience at one of their restaurants, so in a 'fool me once' decision, we decided not to eat on property again, and we came over to Bluewater. Old School Seafood spot with excellent service. We had delicious oysters, NE Clam Chowder, a lobster roll and a Louie Salad. Soup was very tasty. Lobster Roll was very good, but the roll is too big and it looks like a smaller amount of lobster than it is. So it kind of detracts from the enjoyment. Still, a good sandwich and good fries. Louie was good, but oddly served with mixed greens rather than traditional romaine or iceberg. While it was good, I'd pass on this one with mixed greens. While not perfect, we'd definitely return.

This was my favorite restaurant during my 1 week trip to san diego. The actual building is a boathouse on the water which is pretty cool. The lighting makes it even more enjoyable at night. Service was great even though there was a litttle bit of a wait. It was a little hot as this was during summer, but they do have many fans throughout the restaurant to help cool down the place. I didnt expect everything we ate to be so good. From the bread bowl clam chowder, to the sear scallops, to the fresh tuna, to the ciopinno. Even served good drinks and beer. We ate so much thay we couldn't even think of dessert. They serve very good sized portions that you wont be disappointed by the amount of food and the flavor. Its not too expensive neither for what youre getting. I will definitely recommend this place and will certainly be back.

Great happy hour table

It was 1,000,000° at our house so we fled to Coronado. I'm a sucker for a good happy hour and Bluewater boathouse has excellent options for both food and drink. My wife got the shrimp tacos and I got the Phoenix sushi roll. Both were delicious, but the real star of the show was the view if you have any friends from out of town, this would be a phenomenal spot to give a Bay view of Coronado.

New England Chowder

This place was so good we went three times during our stay. The first time, we had drinks at the bar. Ben, the bartender, was very attentive and made great suggestions. The next visit, we had the cold lobster roll with fries, blackened fish and chips. The lobster roll was so good! The buttered roll was delish! The blackened catfish was SUPER spicy! My husband loved it. On our last visit, we had the Manhattan clam chowder, the New England clam chowder, prawns & linguine, and the bouillabaisse. The chowders were so good. I could have just eaten those and been happy. If you can't decide between the two, they will give you half and half - mixed. The prawns were HUGE and tender. The sauce on the linguine was light and bursting with herby goodness. My husband loved the bouillabaisse which was full of fish, scallops, mussels, etc. The restaurant sits in Glorietta Bay which is just across the street from the Hotel del Coronado. It's very coastal in feel and decor. Hannah and Alec were our servers on both of the dinner nights. Both were excellent servers.

What a shame for a vacation restaurant. This place looked great online but once we drove to it I was sadly mistaken the place has no AC and it's clear it's historical but they just have random fans and the service was boring. Nothing happening it's more a retirement dinner than a fancy place. The ribs were so dry and my wife said the lobster roll was as well, the butter was oily for the roll and I had to smoother the bbq ribs in barbecue to make it decent. Generally I like to give a place a shot, this was just a weird night bad service and a bad experience overall. I gave it two stars cause I know it's not a dive and it could be better. Just the experience was not worth the $100+ dinner.

Not bad. The location is great. The parking is much easier. The food is.....generically decent. Mai tai had a respectable amount of rum in it. I like that they had a red manhattan chowder in addition to the normal white chowder. Although, the seafood flavor was still subdued as usual, nowhere close to what I prefer. Edamame was fine. Fish tacos were also just a very standard, bland American flavor with cabbage and tomato, but the fish was not bad. Java mud pie was good. As a personal preference, I did find that the chocolate and crust were a bit hard.

Shrimp and scallops with linguini and pesto cream sauce.

I loved everything about this place. Had a table on 2nd floor with a marina view. A cute seagull visited us for quite sometime outside our window. Warm and tasty thick sliced sourdough. Great wine. Crab cakes to die for. The main dishes were fantastic, fresh, mouth watering, had variety, very flavorful and big portions, Super friendly and professional service. Price was right. Love. Love. LOVE

Nick was a very nice young man! A good server the hostess rubbed me the wrong way and he totally made up for it!! Appreciate it

The iconic cupola style consistent with the historical character of the Hotel Del Coronado, this restaurant which was once a boat house has been serving fantastic seafood surrounded by stunning views of Glorietta Bay. Plenty of free parking on the lot steps away from the entrance. The covered outdoor patio is our preferred seating. Views of the bay, boats, and mini yachts docked is always fun to see. Have dined here a few times and we always order our favorites: spicy Bloody Mary, Sand Dabs and Norwegian Salmon all presented nicely and tasted as good as it looked. Service from the staff and waitress all times we were here was cordial, attentive and accommodating. There were times we sent back something for being too salty and the kitchen were accommodating and apologetic enough to correct it or offer another dish as they should. Have only dined here during late lunch but I've heard the Happy Hour and dinner times are great and gets busy and a fun to do. Sipping on a spirited drink with spectacular bay views is living the good life... Bluewater cheers!! Recommend

The food and the service was incredible! Went here with family to just have lunch. Me and my parents were waiting for my other family members to arrive. Nothing but good vibes! Our server, I think her name was Adriana or Adriene sorry if I got it wrong was the most helpful and sweetest server ever! The food you cannot beat everything was good from the appetizers to the main courses. Oh and don't forget the drinks! Highly recommended if you are in the area! And they had the World Cup playing! That was a super plus!

We came here for dinner the other night for the first time. Funny enough, we originally meant to go to Blue Water and thought this was the same restaurant as the ones in OB and Point Loma -- turns out it's a similar name, but a completely different restaurant (those are just "Blue Water"). We were seated right away, which was great. We ordered the calamari and clam chowder to start. For mains, my husband had the pan-seared striped bass, I ordered the misoyaki cod, and our friend had the swordfish. Overall, the food was mediocre for the price. The standout dish for us was the clam chowder -- it was the only thing we really enjoyed. My misoyaki cod lacked flavor; I could barely taste the miso and it felt like it needed to be marinated longer. The rice that came with it was also overly greasy, too much soy sauce on the bottom, almost like too much oil or butter, and I couldn't finish it. My husband's striped bass tasted better than my dish, and the swordfish was just okay. Overall, for what you pay, we weren't very impressed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it didn't live up to our expectations.

The service was excellent so that's all I'm going off of. The menu did look pretty fire though, so I'd be willing to give it another shot cause for all intents and purposes, the other people in the restaurant seemed to be really enjoying the food! But anyways... I'm a skillet cookie connoisseur. Any place that has a skillet cookie, I'm going there SOLEY to order it. If I ever get married, instead of having cake, my guests will be having skillet cookies for dessert instead. Some might say I love skillet cookies even more than Scottie Scheffler. My love for skillet cookies runs deeper than the Mariana trench and I've been to more than (at least) 11 restaurants to exclusively try them out. With that out of the way... I'm horrified to report this is the worst skillet cookie I've ever had in my entire life. It somehow felt overcooked, yet undercooked at the same time. It was also like they cooked it at an angle. Because it awkwardly occupied 3/4ths of the skillet. It had the consistency of a cake but the taste of a cookie? It was like they couldn't decide whether or not they wanted to make a cake or a cookie. So instead, they decided to half bake something that was in between. I couldn't believe it. It was also completely lacking in the chocolate chip department. All in all, this skillet cookie had a worse performance than Michael Jordan during his high school varsity tryouts. I'll admit it too... I completely lied to the waitress when she came over and asked me how the cookie was. Instead of telling her the truth, I gave her two thumbs up and said, " it's good!"....
