Comfy cushioned sofas by the water. They also have high top tables as well. Would definitely recommended a reservation. We ordered the following: Truffle fries Fish and chips Crabcakes Lobster tacos Salmon cobb salad Burger Lobster mac and cheese Apple pear brie flatbread Pork belly bao buns Brussel sprouts We split this among 9 hungry women and it was more than enough. My favorite was rhe fish and chips and i would come back for that. This is probably one of the best fish and chips i had so far in san diego. The batter was not too thick, yet still had the perfect crunch. And it was so meaty! Oh man, I can't believe that I haven't written my review yet! We took a day and a night in San Diego at the end of April with some friends, and we wanted to make sure that we had seafood while we were in town! We arrived and were able to get a table with a great view of the water. The hosts were super nice and accommodating, and we were seated fairly quickly. Cocktails were all absolutely amazing, and the food was delicious! the Halibut fish and chips was to die for, and the seafood tower had the freshest oysters we've ever eaten. Service was super friendly, prompt, and attentive. The next time we are in San Diego, we will absolutely be stopping back here. This restuant is on the second floor of a building right by the water near downtown San Diego. Ambiance: 5 stars, nex to the water, 2nd floor, beautiful view. Food: 3 stars. We got the lobster roll and they lacked flavor. The banh mi sandwiches were much better. Servie: 5 stars. We were there for a late lunch on a Wednesday and they were not busy. Serivce was excellent. The first thing of note are the views ! They are amazing. This place gives rooftop lounge vibes with mostly couches and tables and a few table top seating options. They also have a full bar in the middle of the restaurant. The staff was friendly and the food was good. We ordered wings, oysters which come with this amazing strawberry type vinaigrette, and the lobster and crab sliders. I will say the sliders do need some type of aioli or sauce but other than that the flavor was good. We went during the week on a Monday around 330pm and it wasn't crowded at all but based on location and scene it probably gets crowded on the weekends and at night. read more

J unfortunately don't remember her name but she asked us what type of vibe we were looking for and recommends drinks to match it. I got this frozen drink that perfectly offset the hot weather and had me slightly turnt. 5/5 for knowing how to connect with patrons! I ordered the Hugo Spritz and it was incredibly refreshing. Since there was some cloud coverage, I opted for a warm and comfort dish: the lobster mac and cheese. Let me just begin by telling you that I am still thinking about that dish. It was the perfect balance of cheese and generous lobster pieces. My husband ordered the lobster and crab sliders, while my son had the chicken tenders and fries. The food service was pretty quick, though the drinks took a bit longer. The wait time to get seated was about 5 minutes (pretty great for being a Saturday afternoon on holiday weekend). The downside is the parking, its limited. We didn't want to embarrass ourselves and just stuck here when we found out they don't have a happy hour menu. My hubby ordered a beer and we shared a flatbread. Topsail was an amazing experience from start to finish. First of all, I was driving from LA to San Diego for a dinner there and traffic kept getting worse and worse. The hostess was incredibly kind and accommodating and kept adjusting my reservation time. Once we arrived, we sat at a beautiful couch facing the water. The view was incredible and instantly relaxing. The server was great and the food was incredible--- skirt steak, shrimp, and kpop wings. Just recently, I went to Topsail to celebrate a good friend's birthday. We had reservations and were promptly seated, however, there were plenty of tables available, even on a Saturday night. That isn't to say it wasn't busy--there was a very vibrant atmosphere and this, coupled with the beautiful views of the San Diego skyline and ocean, made the ambiance fantastic. We were seated in an area of the deck with low chairs and an even lower table. Honestly? I wasn't a fan of this because it was uncomfortable to lean over while we ate in our dresses, but I suppose it did allow for a semi-intimate experience for our small group. But the main issue I had was that there were no overhead heaters in our area! And being on a rooftop deck next to the ocean, there was a serious chill factor to consider. We were very cold. Moving on to the food: it was just okay for me. I ordered the apple, pear, and brie flatbread. It was topped with arugula, candied pecans, balsamic dressing, and caramelized apples and pears, which I quite enjoyed. There was also pork belly, which was too fatty for my taste (though I understand that's the appeal of it, I just wish there were other meat options). Although I enjoyed the overall flavor profile, it was unfortunate that the flatbread was somewhat overcooked/burnt. It was very texturally hard and biting into it was like biting into a charred cracker. Still, I think the flatbread was the best bang for your buck among the other menu options. The waitress surprised my friend with a mud cake, which was very kind! The ice cream tasted like it had a hint of coffee, which was so delicious! Probably the best thing I ate all night. Also, the parking is horrendous. Of course, this is in Downtown SD, so that's to be expected. They do have valet parking, but the fee is hefty; I believe it's $40 for 3 hours, but you can get it validated at the restaurant so it's reduced to $20. I think that, if I were to return to Topsail, it would be for the ambiance--you're next to the Star of India, how cool! read more
