Good food, fun place and great people. Service was great, accommodated our group and even took pictures for us. Lots of options and even for vegan options.
The vibes and the food were amazing! Our bartender was very quick and attentive. Our food took a little longer to come out, but the manager came out, apologized, and personally delivered our food. Definitely recommend this place!
Excellent. We had lunch here and everything was fantastic. I personally found the guac and my lunch not salted enough but that wasn't an issue since they had salt on their table! Great location and ambiance!
We were visiting Coronado and looking for a place to watch the FIFA games. The food was delicious, but I wouldn't consider it authentic Mexican cuisine. It's more of a modern, Americanized take on Mexican food. That said, the cheese balls on my salad were absolutely delicious! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a great atmosphere, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy a drink. The service, however, could have been more attentive. We had several different servers during our visit, so I never really knew who our main waiter was. We even had to flag someone down just to get our bill. Overall, the food was good, the ambiance was enjoyable, and it's a great place to grab drinks and watch a game. With more attentive service, it would have been an even better experience.
Came here with a big group and everything was fantastic. The service was prompt, helpful and everything flowed nicely. The food was full of flavor. We had a ton of appetizers. We tried the queso, guacamole, and Mexican pizzas (short rib and margarita) everything was tasty. I ordered a combo which consisted of the short rib enchilada, carnitas taco and the fish taco. The fish taco was devine, the enchilada made me want to lick the plate and the carnitas was very tender. The rice that comes with the meals is a hidden gem. Everyone as the table made comments on how tasty the rice was. For desert, the server recommended pineapple empanadas and I was skeptical. However, they were great. I would come here again, I may stop by before I leave tomorrow.
Some of the best Mexican food in the San Diego area in my opinion.My chicken tinga enchilada, cheese enchilada, and chile verde enchilada were all very tasty, and so were the sauce. chips and salsa. The guacamole was also excellent. One of the best cadillac margaritas I've had as well. Prices are a bit on the higher side , but the food quality sure makes up for it .
Everything I had here was delicious! My watermelon margarita was amazing. We had both chips and guac, and I enjoyed the freshness of the guacamole. I had two mahi tacos and after a week of good eating, I could barely finish them. That being said, I did eat the fish out of the tortilla, and it was very fresh and yummy.
There was a bit of a wait on a Thursday night, about 25 minutes and they text you when your table is ready. Most of the food was pretty good and I got the cheese crisps just out of curiosity but I would never recommend that dish to anyone. It's basically a disappointing and really sad tortilla with cheese on top. It would probably be great for kids though and people who don't need seasoning. It was a bit hard to get the server's attention but overall it was an ok dining experience.
I've been meaning to check this eatery out and finally did so a couple of years ago. The space is inviting and staff are friendly. We were given complimentary chips and salsa and then ordered some drinks that came with watermelon garnish. We shared the spicy mango ceviche and a cheese crisp for our appetizers. Both were delicious! The cheese crisp was very interesting! We opted for the spicy tiger shrimp fajitas for our entree. It's served with blistered peppers, charred onions, jack cheese, guacamole, salsa fresca, sour cream, choice of beans and tortillas. It was very tasty! We ended up trying frozen margarita and an agua fresca as well. The frozen margarita is so refreshing, especially on a hot summer day. For dessert, we got the tres leches cake and it was the perfect ending to our dinner.
Love this restaurant! They have lots of seating area inside & outdoors but it's busy with locals & tourists. We sat at the bar and ordered or else the wait was over an hour for a table. We enjoyed the ceviche and the carne asada quesadilla. They give chips & salsa and yes they are yummy. Lots of fun people to see and the bar has TVs with sports playing. It gets very loud inside and it's very kid friendly. Bartenders are spot on and very friendly. It's a great place to come grab a bite to eat & drink.
We spotted this cantina and restaurant while visiting the AR Workshop in Coronado. We decided to try them out while waiting for the rest of our party members for our appointment at AR Studio. I walked up to the take out window and ordered. A young gentleman helped me. He said that my food would be out in 12-15 minutes. Well, I found a table on the side if the catina and set my things down. I noticed that the staff had also used these tables to meet with the managers or employees, and to eat their lunch break meals. AT NO TIME DID ANYONE ON THE STAFF TELL ME THAT I SHOULD BE SITTING IN THE AREA TO BE SERVED ON THE CATINA PATIO. My food took 22 minutes and I had to walk back up to the window to retrieve it...WTH I tipped 15% at a walk up window and you all can't walk it to my sidewalk table 10 feet away? The rest of our party started to arrive so they decided to also order food. Luckily, their food was ready in 10 minutes. The staff delivered their orders to our table, which made more sense. Overall, it was OK. My wet carne asada burrito no sour cream, diet pepsi, and chips with salsa was tasty but definitely not worth the $30 pricetag. I will not visit again. The customer service was spotty and the whole dining at the sidewalk tables for staff situation was not cool.
While visiting Coronado, I stopped for dinner and happened to arrive during the restaurant's happy hour: Monday to Friday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. The vibe of the restaurant was pretty dope. They have an outdoor seating area blended with indoor seating. The decor was stunning. I loved the wallpaper and light fixtures. The tunes were bumpin'. The restaurant wasn't surprisingly too busy and was pretty family-friendly. I was so excited to take a bite into my first CA tacos! As I settled in and opened the menu, full transparency: I was shocked to see the "happy hour specials: $7 tacos"... regularly $14!? Thinking these HAD to be next-level incredible, I stopped judging and ordered two "Birria" tacos, two "traditional Carnitas" tacos, and a "crispy shell Ground Beef" taco. We paired our tacos with their "Classic" house Margarita. Chips and salsa were brought to the table with our drinks, and we enjoyed those for a bit before the food came out. I wish I were writing this to report that I had the best tacos of my life, but sadly, that's not the case. The Birria taco had an excessive amount of untrimmed fat in the meat, which made each bite unpleasant and forced me to spit out pieces I couldn't chew. This made the overall texture unappealing and the experience disappointing. Not my preferred way to enjoy my tacos. I don't believe this was an issue of happy hour pricing, but rather poor food preparation. I was only able to finish one taco and took the other to-go. As for the traditional carnitas taco, it was okay but lacked anything that set it apart. I say this with kindness, but if you've had a TB crunchy taco supreme, you've tried this restaurant's crispy shell ground beef taco. The classic margaritas were strong and well made. We thoroughly enjoyed them! If you asked me, would I go back for seconds? I'd likely not reorder the tacos. For the price, I expected higher-quality preparation and presentation; instead, it fell short. Personally, I'm glad I visited during Happy Hour. I'd file this one under cool place for drinks and a light bite, if you must.

Stumbled upon Blanco Cocina while walking around. We got lured in by the happy hour signs. I believe their happy hour on weekends is 12-2. Fantastic happy hour menu with great prices. I got the strawberry tangerine agua fresca, guac, and a beef taco. Agua Fresca was delicious. The guac had good quality avocados and is a large portion. Rarely do you get a good deal on guac, but this is worth your money. The taco was good. I'd really recommend this happy hour, I think it's a unique one. read more

Pretty good quality, but a bit generic. This is another Mexican joint that's fully catered to Americans. I got a bowl, and the flavors were a nice mix and the meat had a great texture, but it seems....muted. They just can't make the flavor too strong. I kinda like this drink. They mixed the tequila back into the bottle, so the amount is nice as it fills the glass twice. read more

My parents and I went to Cocina Blanco on Labor Day. Phoebe, Stephanie and Gillian were so friendly and kind. We ordered the shrimp skewers and carnitas tacos. The sauce on the shrimp skewers was delicious and the perfect spice!! The carnitas were juicy and with lots of flavor! The guacamole was the perfect blend of avocado and spices to go with the chips! To top it off we shared the Carmel Flan for a special occasion. The vibe is relaxed, friendly and next level service!! Contact Gillian the manager for special events. Bring friends and family! I can't believe I haven't noticed this spot in Coronado before! There's a quaint and cute dog-friendly patio outside which was just what we were looking for on a beautiful early Saturday afternoon. We were seated within just a few minutes. I must say, everything from the food to the drinks were fabulous! We got their margarita tree, which was well-priced for four drinks total, and each one was delicious. The mandarin strawberry marg was definitely the favorite between the both of us. You could taste the fresh fruit and it was a perfect amount of sweetness. Really enjoyed the salsa & asked if they had a spicier one. To my delight--they did and it had a perfect punch! The mahi taco and carne asada taco were both 9/10 for me as well, with great flavor and soft, luxurious housemade tortillas. Could use just a bit more acidity, even a little lime on the side would suffice. The rice was ok, the beans were better!! Overall, that spicy salsa really enhanced everything for me :) Excited to come back and try more items. Service was also quick and lovely. Definitely a new go-to in Coronado. read more

If you come here you must get the shrimp tacos. The handmade tortillas with the perfectly cooked shrimp and the salsa are chefs kiss! We started dinner with the queso fundido and the most refreshing Paloma mocktail. Again, the shrimp tacos were amazing! Paired with charro beans (good) and white rice. Now I'm not sure what is in the rice but I was not a fan. Very buttery. read more
Great Mexican restaurant walking distance from Hotel Del. Sat at a table as I was with a group but next time, would love to check out their spacious bar! We took the Old Town Trolley tour and decided to stop in Coronado to have some lunch and check out the Hotel Del Coronado. On the way to the hotel from the trolley stop, we decided to try Blanco Cocina + Cantina. We arrived around 11:00 on a Saturday and it wasn't too crowded, but it got pretty crowded by the time we left. Everything we had tasted great and would love to go back again. It was nice that we could get the street corn already off the cobb since it made it easier for my daughter. The queso also didn't come with chips, but our server gave us more chips from the chips and salsa that comes with the meal. read more

As my cute companion & I looked for a place to relax after walking around town, we happened upon Blanco. We were drawn in by the bar, the vibe, and the score (Rams won! Yay!). What better way to pass the time than with a few drinks & some gridiron drama? It was a very close game! As we sat at the bar perusing the drink menu, choosing which margarita to order, we realized there was another side of the drink menu. Two words: Margarita. Tree. If you like margaritas and fancy a challenge, this is your order! You get your choice of 4 flavors that hang from this cool little agave plant base! Presentation, thy name is Blanco! Our margarita choices in no particular order, as they were all delectable: Jalapeño & Pineapple, Mango Stand, Rosa Bonita, and Spicy Skinny. There is no wrong answer here. We didn't have anything else other than chips & salsa, as we had dinner reservations elsewhere. But if the food is a good as the margaritas, we're definitely coming back! We had lunch today at Blanco Cocina. Everyone wanted fish tacos and I have to say, they were delicious. There are many choices on the menu, so I went with the fish taco and carnitas. Both were so good. The restaurant was clean and our service was good. Parking is where you can find it on the street. This is a good pick when you are in Coronado. read more
I had the most lovely lunch in outdoor seating at Blanco today! They have a wonderful weekday lunch special that includes a choice of entrees (I ordered the grilled fish tacos), a drink and either a small order of queso or guacamole, all so fresh and delicious. Their chips were good, but the salsa reminded me of some I had tasted from a jar. Parking is very tricky as it is situated across the street from the Del Coronado. I hadn't been to a Blanco in a few years. Really enjoyed the queso, the sweet potato tacos, the Rosa Bonita margarita, and the flan. Happy to see the creamy rice with corn instead of the tomatoey rice and quinoa blend. Whole group left satisfied. Would return. Service was a little slow and it was really loud because of sports fans at the bar. read more

Waitress was extremely friendly! Ordered the fajitas and they came extremely burnt on the bottom side. Unfortunately couldn't eat them, so had to inform the waitress. Manager came, apologized, and delivered a brand new plate of burnt fajitas for the SECOND time. Not coming back, also not sure why it's so hard to cook fajitas? read more

Food quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 We first discovered Blanco Tacos at a Taco Fest years ago and instantly fell in love with their consistently delicious food. This location is especially great and I really appreciate how dog-friendly the outdoor seating is. I ordered the grilled shrimp tacos (on flour tortillas, with charro beans) and they were absolutely life-changing - a solid 10/10. The sauce they use is incredible and takes the tacos to another level. My husband went with the taco salad and gave it an 8.8/10, which says a lot coming from him. They also have great non-alcoholic drink options. I tried the strawberry refresher and it was delicious and the perfect pairing with the tacos. Blanco continues to be one of our favorite go-tos, and this spot definitely lives up to the hype. read more

We were able to get seated right away on a Friday at 1:30pm Our server was the sweetest guy, always checking in on us Food was great. Got their chicken tinge enchiladas. Complimentary chips and salsa... ok chips It was my husband's birthday and they gave him a handwritten birthday card and a complimentary dessert off the menu so we got their strawberry rhubarb empanadas. Which was amazing Got their watermelon mocktail which was tasty 3 of us ate and got 2 drinks and 3 entrees, cost was about $90 total. Would could come back to try more! read more

Great lunch spot in Coronado right on the main drag of Orange Ave. Blanco has a plentiful Mexican menu with tacos, enchiladas, burrito bowls, fajitas, margaritas, and more. Though it's not stated on the menu, you can mix and match your two tacos. I ordered the chicken pastor with pineapple, cheese and salsa verde AND the traditional carnitas with jalapeños, creme frésca and salsa verde. Both were excellent Mexican street tacos and didn't need additional salsa. I was kind of surprised they didn't offer the most popular taco in San Diego, the fish taco. The rice and beans were good, but not traditional. The rice was white-colored with a little corn, instead of Mexican reddish-orange rice with tomatoes and onions. The beans I chose were "charred", which is their take on refried. The seating outside was nice and you could look out onto the street. Blanco has been open for a year at this location. read more

tldr: going to think about this place for the next year until i can return again we stopped in for some appetizers and drinks after walking for a few miles visiting coronado. we needed some fuel for the drive back to the city. it wasn't a planned stop, but we happened to walk past it and decided to turn back around for a quick snack/drink (best decision) service: so friendly! from the hostess, to our server (the receipt might've said his name was angel?). he was so kind and checked up on us several times, but wasn't "pestering". whenever i started to get low on my water, he would come refill it. i watched him take care of his other tables and he was so attentive!! bathrooms: super clean! multiple stalls. the individual doors showed if they were occupied or not. and finally, the food: i told the waiter i would be dreaming about the flautas and i was not lying. he told us they just recently changed the menu and there were taquitos, but those were removed and they recently brought in these flautas and holy moly. they hit the spot. so delicious!! i almost cried. if we didn't already have plans for dinner later that night, i would've ordered 2-3 more plates of these. the salsa was amazing. not chunky, not watery. just perfect!!! had some spice but not uncomfortable. the queso was soo good too! everything tasted so fresh. food came out quickly but not suspiciously so. drinks: refreshing! i got an aloha tea and my sister got the poolside pop margarita. overall, would absolutely come back. in fact, i would come back to coronado for only this meal. 10/10. read more
