Stopped in after spending a few hours exploring Hotel Del and walking the beach. I loved the variety of the menu. The seating inside is limited to counter style where you can watch the chefs cook up the meals. They have several tables set up outside I ordered an Americano and bottled water. Fish tacos and rolled tacos. They have a full selection of what looked like delicious diner food. Solid menu choices. There's something there for every taste. Our waitress was helpful in helping us order. She brought our order timely and it was fresh. We both forgot about the Americano and she brought it later and said it was on the house. Very thoughtful. The day was gorgeous and the noise level from the street was not bad and or distracting Recommend !!
Stopped by on our way to the beach to get a California burrito (carne asada) and chips/salsa. The staff were super friendly and it was very easy to walk up and order to go. The burritos were extremely flavorful and fresh! I liked that you got a very decent portion and it paired well with chips and salsa which had a bit of a kick. Excited to come back to try additional menu items here!
Had a nice breakfast/brunch recently at Night and Day Cafe. The food was simple, classic, and exactly what we were in the mood for. The pancake was huge and had that soft, fluffy texture you want from a good diner-style meal. We also had a breakfast burrito with crispy hash browns that hit the spot, plus a plate with bacon, eggs, and hash browns that was satisfying and well cooked. The portions were definitely generous, although the prices felt very Coronado. Still, the food came out fresh and it was an easy, enjoyable brunch overall. One thing to know: on a busy day, if you're sitting outside, be prepared to get a few stares from people waiting for a table. Not the restaurant's fault, just part of the experience when a spot is popular. Nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done well. Definitely a solid spot when you want a relaxed, no-fuss meal.

Service was good overall. My only small complaint is that after waiting a long time for counter seating (by choice), three different parties were seated at the same time and our order was taken last. I wish there had been a little more attention to who was seated first. Aside from that, everything was spot-on. The décor is fun, with a classic diner vibe, and the whole place looked clean and well maintained. I'm excited to go back and try more items from the menu!

It's a small, hole-in-the-wall type spot inside, but I grabbed a table outside at the end of the main street, which was a great way to enjoy the meal. Started with chips and salsa and for my main I ordered the carne asada tacos. Straightforward, enjoyable, and exactly what I was looking for. Nothing fancy, just good food in a relaxed setting. A nice find if you're nearby and want something simple and dependable.

The perfect mix of everything you want for breakfast with perfectly cooked bacon, hashbrowns, avocado, and scrambled eggs in a burrito with the salsa drizzled in you could just go to town on that! This feels more local than most of the other restaurants along this street. I like it. I mean, it's a homey little breakfast burrito diner. Or maybe it's more dingy than homey? Maybe it depends on your point of view. Plus, the dude is cooking right in front of you; obviously not a classy place. Nice bit of heat on the tortilla and fluffy eggs. Good avocado. The waitress offered coffee to-go, which was great. Although, I have a random nitpick about the cups with the built in sleeves. Ironically, these are not as good and will get too hot in your hand since part of what gives the insulation is the sliver of separation between the detached sleeve and the cup. Anyways, I do like this place, but I'm gonna lose street cred again if I give this five stars. Lol.
A+ service! Very friendly staff, our waiter, Alejandro was great! We ordered some street tacos with a side of sweet potato fries. The food was delicious! Not many late night food options on Coronado Island and I was happy to find out there was a place selling tacos. This spot is small but has both indoor and outdoor seating. We decided to have brunch here on a Thursday before hitting the road home. A great origin story and a really cute little spot with a fun vibe and intimate indoor counter seating. Two tvs plaing Padres game when we were there, but we sat outside on an awesome afternoon. Service was excellent, as was the food. My wife got the Machacas con Huevos and I got the Stan the Man Mahi Mahi Burrito. They also have great housemade salsas, habanero and chile verde. Fun spot in Coronado!

OH MY GAAAAAHHHHH! Guau. Just wow. Incredible. Show stopping. I never write reviews but I had to make an account just for this place. The service was amazing, they even offered to serve our burrito on two plates for us to share. The food... oh my GOODNESS. Mario's surf and turf was the best burrito I've ever had in my life and nothing is even in the same category. We also ordered the cinnamon honey latte and it was so yummy. Delightful start to the day! Was down from Los Angeles to enjoy a beautiful day in San Diego. Had an early start and wanted chilaquiles. You get to choose red or green salsa. I got red and it was fabulous. Eggs over medium were perfection. Outdoor seating is great cute neighborhood. Staff was excellent read more
What a fun experience!! The servers are so friendly! Sat at the bar and we were able to watch the " show" The pancakes are Ginormous!! They work together back there in symphony!! honestly wasn't impressed by their honey cinnamon oat latte (~$8) -- not sure if the coffee or the oat milk was watery but the drink itself was. they added too much syrup or honey as well. I could barely taste the coffee read more

Service and location were both great! My California burrito tasted like a California burrito, but for $21 I was expecting a massive burrito that was over the top... it wasn't. It was just your standard burrito. They normally serve it with enchilada sauce and sour cream on top but I asked them to add it in the burrito, which they didn't. Seating was very limited, belly up bar inside and a few tables outside. If you sit at the bar inside, you're literally sitting along side the line cooks. Not good for large or medium groups. It's on the main street in Coronado with no dedicated parking lot so it could be difficult at times to find a spot. read more
Night and Day Café in Coronado is a hidden gem! At first glance, it might not look like much from the outside -- nothing too fancy -- but don't let that fool you. The food is absolutely fantastic. We were lucky to get a seat outside since there aren't too many tables, but the vibe was casual and relaxed. The Mexican food here is top-notch -- fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The chilaquiles were especially amazing -- probably some of the best I've had! They also serve beer, which was a great bonus. Service was exceptional. Chicken wings was great . Tasted so good .. If you're in Coronado and craving authentic Mexican food in a laid-back spot, this place is a must-visit. Thought of giving 4 stars but this one deserves a 5 star read more

Both times we've dined in, it's been such a pleasant experience! Friendly staff, quick service, and best of all the generous portions! One burrito, split, is more than enough to fill us both. Definitely ask for the green & red salsas, very flavorful spicy kick. We loved the Beef Chimichanga and Surf & Turf burritos! We came on a Sunday ~4pm and unbeknownst it was happy hour half off apps & drinks which was such a great deal! read more
Saw this place on an instagram reel for taco Tuesday. Got right up don't street parking. We were quickly greeted and taken care of. There's a beachy vibe to the place and with so many excellent reviews I had to try it. Friend ordered fish tacos with mango salsa and they were gigantic. He said they were really good. I got one each of the adobada, carne asada and pollo asado street tacos. So yummy! Definitely want to try other things next time. read more

While exploring Coronado, we stumbled upon this hidden gem! We came on a Sunday at 12:30 PM, thankfully we dodged the brunch rush. Parking is difficult, we parked at a nearby neighborhood. We sat at the counter in front of the grill so it was entertaining to see the cook in action. The inside is very small and loud, but there is outdoor seating you could ask for. We ordered: - Banana Pancake: They really weren't lying about the size of the pancake! Great texture, but still a pretty basic pancake. - Monte Cristo: They gave a thick ham steak that was a little tough to cut through and the cook gave us a ton of crispy hashbrowns, which was nice. Food was okay, good service, friendly staff, and affordable prices. We'd come back if we're in the area! read more

Homestyle breakfast found in beautiful sunny Coronado. I've walked by this restraunt for awhile the line kept me away. Today we waited about an hour, went next door for coffee as we waited. Once called we were seated outside besides a counter inside this is all they have. That would explain the long wait times. So many people coming you can tell no one minds at all. The food !!! I loved the hashbrowns they topped most of the ones I've tried to date. Not greasy at all super crispy and salted to perfection. Not to crazy about my eggs today. The soft giant buttermilk pancake made up for it. The burrito was stuffed with so much egg that was a nice surprise. No short cuts at this place. They are legit and serve you with the biggest smiles. My husband and I came for breakfast once and after that it has become one of our favorite breakfast go-to spots!! Some of our favorite menu items include: the machaca burrito, chilaquiles (both green and red sauce), the denver omelette, and the pancake w/banana and chocolate chips. One pancake is good to share - it's true, it's the size of a frisbee! Everything is so tasty and you can tell the salsas are fresh, made from scratch. Also, service here is top-notch. Very solid joint! We came a little after 9pm and got a couple seats at the bar. It's fun seeing the open kitchen concept. Fast and friendly service. Would absolutely come again - monte christo and burrito hit the spot. Sweet potato fries needed to be crispier, but still good nonetheless read more
My boyfriend and I had a really nice brunch at this Cafe. Although it was pretty busy in Coronado that day, we put our name down and were seated like 10 minutes later. We sat outside which was only a little annoying because they don't have enough umbrellas so the sun really beats down on you. My boyfriend ended up getting a little sunburned so maybe pack some SPF if you sit outside. The food was great though! The pancake was huge, I ended up taking some home to eat later. My boyfriend said the rice and beans he had were the best he'd had on our trip. I also really liked the omelette I had. I would definitely go back to try more of the food. read more

Stopped by for a quick breakfast before a trip. Food was amazing, service was top notch and it become a favorite. We ordered the chilaquiles, a breakfast burrito and scrambled eggs and hash browns for my baby. Still thinking of those chilaquiles and needing an excuse to head down to coronado to get them again. Probably a 3.5 but I'll round up, the service was quick and friendly. I sat alone at the bar right after open. Double edged sword that you can watch the food being made haha no gross handling or anything but you do see how much butter goes into everything! I ordered the carne omelette with egg whites and no cheese. Twas tasty. Good portion. Nothing to write home about but I enjoyed it. Hashbrowns were super good, nice and crispy. I upped my bread side to a single pancake... holy cow! They weren't kidding about the size, it was huge! Good texture but a pretty basic pancake. Always looking to try out new places. I was in the area enjoying a pleasant walk and found this place. It was busy by the time I walked over. Must be a popular spot as it was about a 20 minute wait. I went ahead and ordered a Coronado Burrito- Bacon, hash browns, scrambled eggs, Jack cheddar cheese, and avocado It was a huge burrito! Delicious too especially with the green sauce!
