We had the best experience and meals. The restaurant has outdoor seating and a counter top bar inside. The staff was fantastic and the chef efficient considering he was the only one behind the counter. The food was was delicious but be aware that the portions are larger enough to share. The mimosa flight YUMMMM. Full menu from breakfast to burgers to salads. I would absolutely eat here again.

We went for Saturday brunch and had an amazing meal. Sitting at the counter let us watch everything being prepared fresh right in front of us. The jalapeño hollandaise was incredible--honestly, I could eat it as a dip for tortilla chips, it was that good. The omelet was generously filled with fresh shrimp and full of flavor. Service was good overall. My only small complaint is that after waiting a long time for counter seating (by choice), three different parties were seated at the same time and our order was taken last. I wish there had been a little more attention to who was seated first. Aside from that, everything was spot-on. The décor is fun, with a classic diner vibe, and the whole place looked clean and well maintained. I'm excited to go back and try more items from the menu!

Stopped by Night & Day Cafe and had a solid, laid-back experience. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall type spot inside, but I grabbed a table outside at the end of the main street, which was a great way to enjoy the meal. Started with chips and salsa and for my main I ordered the carne asada tacos. Straightforward, enjoyable, and exactly what I was looking for. Nothing fancy, just good food in a relaxed setting. A nice find if you're nearby and want something simple and dependable.

Come here with a seriously empty stomach! Came here early on a Sunday morning and walked out feeling more full than Thanksgiving dinner! Wow, the Coronado burrito is delicious. The perfect mix of everything you want for breakfast with perfectly cooked bacon, hashbrowns, avocado, and scrambled eggs in a burrito with the salsa drizzled in you could just go to town on that! Sitting inside at the bar, you get to watch all the food being cooked and it feels like you were transported back to your childhood This tiny and unassuming hole in the wall in Coronado is incredible and worth every penny come eat your heart out and then go for a walk towards the Del

This feels more local than most of the other restaurants along this street. I like it. I mean, it's a homey little breakfast burrito diner. Or maybe it's more dingy than homey? Maybe it depends on your point of view. Plus, the dude is cooking right in front of you; obviously not a classy place. Nice bit of heat on the tortilla and fluffy eggs. Good avocado. No default salsa, but not too dry even without it since it's well made. I kind of like the hash browns too for some reason. It's something about the amount of crisp and the ratio to the softness that feels right somehow. It does feel a bit pricey for what you're getting, but that's everywhere in this neighborhood. Like, that just looks like cheap shredded cheese. Also, the steak was.......okay. The texture was fine, but I did feel that it was a tad bland and generic. The waitress offered coffee to-go, which was great. Although, I have a random nitpick about the cups with the built in sleeves. Ironically, these are not as good and will get too hot in your hand since part of what gives the insulation is the sliver of separation between the detached sleeve and the cup. Anyways, I do like this place, but I'm gonna lose street cred again if I give this five stars. Lol.

A+ service! Very friendly staff, our waiter, Alejandro was great! We ordered some street tacos with a side of sweet potato fries. The food was delicious! Not many late night food options on Coronado Island and I was happy to find out there was a place selling tacos. This spot is small but has both indoor and outdoor seating. Bathroom onsite for customers only

We decided to have brunch here on a Thursday before hitting the road home. A great origin story and a really cute little spot with a fun vibe and intimate indoor counter seating. Two tvs plaing Padres game when we were there, but we sat outside on an awesome afternoon. Service was excellent, as was the food. My wife got the Machacas con Huevos and I got the Stan the Man Mahi Mahi Burrito. They also have great housemade salsas, habanero and chile verde. Fun spot in Coronado!

Amazing food! Thought it was a little overprices ($18 breakfast sandwhich) but then my food came with an entire massive omlette IN my sammie. Amazing! Also super speedy and diner vibe is cool.

Service and location were both great! My California burrito tasted like a California burrito, but for $21 I was expecting a massive burrito that was over the top... it wasn't. It was just your standard burrito. They normally serve it with enchilada sauce and sour cream on top but I asked them to add it in the burrito, which they didn't. Seating was very limited, belly up bar inside and a few tables outside. If you sit at the bar inside, you're literally sitting along side the line cooks. Not good for large or medium groups. It's on the main street in Coronado with no dedicated parking lot so it could be difficult at times to find a spot.

Night and Day Café in Coronado is a hidden gem! At first glance, it might not look like much from the outside -- nothing too fancy -- but don't let that fool you. The food is absolutely fantastic. We were lucky to get a seat outside since there aren't too many tables, but the vibe was casual and relaxed. The Mexican food here is top-notch -- fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The chilaquiles were especially amazing -- probably some of the best I've had! They also serve beer, which was a great bonus. Service was exceptional. Chicken wings was great . Tasted so good .. If you're in Coronado and craving authentic Mexican food in a laid-back spot, this place is a must-visit. Thought of giving 4 stars but this one deserves a 5 star

Both times we've dined in, it's been such a pleasant experience! Friendly staff, quick service, and best of all the generous portions! One burrito, split, is more than enough to fill us both. Definitely ask for the green & red salsas, very flavorful spicy kick. We loved the Beef Chimichanga and Surf & Turf burritos! We came on a Sunday ~4pm and unbeknownst it was happy hour half off apps & drinks which was such a great deal!

Saw this place on an instagram reel for taco Tuesday. Got right up don't street parking. We were quickly greeted and taken care of. There's a beachy vibe to the place and with so many excellent reviews I had to try it. Friend ordered fish tacos with mango salsa and they were gigantic. He said they were really good. I got one each of the adobada, carne asada and pollo asado street tacos. So yummy! Definitely want to try other things next time.

While exploring Coronado, we stumbled upon this hidden gem! We came on a Sunday at 12:30 PM, thankfully we dodged the brunch rush. Parking is difficult, we parked at a nearby neighborhood. We sat at the counter in front of the grill so it was entertaining to see the cook in action. The inside is very small and loud, but there is outdoor seating you could ask for. We ordered: - Banana Pancake: They really weren't lying about the size of the pancake! Great texture, but still a pretty basic pancake. - Monte Cristo: They gave a thick ham steak that was a little tough to cut through and the cook gave us a ton of crispy hashbrowns, which was nice. Food was okay, good service, friendly staff, and affordable prices. We'd come back if we're in the area!

The food is good I guess. The wagyu taco had a nice flavor and the greens with the sauce made it work. I don't think it's actually wagyu, but the word is pretty much meaningless at this point. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. Even after most of the plate, I noticed I didn't find it too salty. I really like the menus in the crappy brown folders. I think they might've also done it because it's easy and cheap, but it works well with the aesthetic they have.

This was my first time dining at Coronado Brewing and besides having a blast with my buddies, my son and nephew joined us for blessed quality family time. My buddies are into breweries and drinking flights of the breweries' craft beer, so I know why my best friend of more than 5 decades chose this restaurant. I enjoyed my first time here because of the yummy food, having an excuse to visit Coronado, and our young Asian waitress Drea provided friendly and outstanding customer service. Coronado Brewing is located in beautiful, coastal Coronado, CA. It can be found on the far north end of Orange Avenue. The easiest way to get there would be to take the Coronado Bay Bridge or you can drive the Silver Strand. The restaurant is a short walk from Nicky Rottens, several steps from Saiko Sushi, it's just down from Coronado Hardware and Fire Station Venue, it's across from the Coronado Southern Baptist Church, and it's directly across from a market. Parking could be challenging because it's street parking, but Coronado is a safe neighborhood, so a short walk shouldn't be a problem. It's a popular eatery, which means you might have to wait to be seated. As you enter Coronado Brewing, you'll see how spacious it is with booth seating, bartop seating, and tabletop seating. There are framed pics of florals, booths decorated with coastal fauna, decorative lighting, ceiling fans, and a brick fire pit. I didn't think there were enough televisions to cheer on our Padres. Our waitress Drea was stellar, she had a vibrant personality, and she provided notable customer service. Unlike my buddies, I couldn't tell you the difference between craft beer or store bought beer, but my pals are craft beer aficionados. I can tell that my buddies really enjoyed the flights of craft beer they ordered from Coronado Brewing. If you're like my buddies, then I recommend you try out this restaurant. I joined my friends to catch up with them, support our Padres, bond with my family, and to try Coronado Brewing's food. Looking at their menu, pricing is reasonable and they serve the following: Pub Favorites, Tacos, Burgers & Sandwiches, Salads, Wood-Fired Pizzas, Main Courses, and Desserts. I had eaten a filling lunch, so I wasn't too hungry, but I did share a Nachos Borrachos, Fish & Chips, Meat Lover's Pizza, MooTime Ice Cream Cake, and a Brownie Sundae. The nachos borrachos were satisfying with its carnitas pulled pork over fresh tortilla chips, finger licking delish with its jalapeño beer-cheese, and just a tasty starter. I shared the fish and chips with my son, which had a tasty batter and I enjoyed the accompanying garlic fries. The meat lover's pizza had a good amount of protein, but I thought the crust could have been more firm. The ice cream cake and brownie sundae are must orders because they were decadent, there was an abundant amount of chocolate, and they were rich in flavor. I had a blessed time experiencing Coronado Brewing Company for the first time with some of my closest friends and my family. I really enjoyed what I ate, but I definitely need to experience their other entrees the next time we visit.

That said, the space can feel a bit chaotic, especially given its size. What you can typically expect is that this isn't the kind of bar where you go to quietly relax. Most of the time it's better suited for a festive mood. It gets packed, movement around the bar can be tight, and finding a stool or seat isn't always easy if you're hoping to sit back and unwind. The house rules--such as the "no phones at the bar" policy--can also feel more like part of the spectacle than a charming quirk, depending on your mood. For example, the bartender may hand you drinks, a bill to sign, a receipt, a clipboard, a pen, and your phone after grabbing it to tap the register for payment--all while you're squeezed between seated patrons, processing your order. In moments like that, it can almost feel like part of the act because it can be quite difficult to keep that phone or any of the other items off of the limited bar space: the chaos fuels the energy of the crowd and the hope for a free round of drinks. If that's the kind of atmosphere you're in the mood for, you'll likely have a great time. The décor, however, is outstanding. The model planes are impressive, and the historic aviation vibe adds a lot to the experience. The Maverick "Hard Deck Bar" from the film was modeled after the I Bar, and there's an enduring urban legend that some people hoped the movie prop would remain as a real bar on base after filming--though it was dismantled. That connection probably drives additional curiosity and visits to the original I Bar, even though it's a different place. Because it's located on a military base, the crowd tends to include regulars passing through on assignment rather than tourists. In fact, it isn't really set up for tourist traffic. So if you happen to get access with someone who has a military ID--and you arrive while the bar is actually open--you'll likely enjoy the experience. But if you're simply looking for a relaxed place to sit and have a drink, you may prefer one of the bars off base where there's a bit more room to breathe.
