What a fun experience!! The servers are so friendly! Sat at the bar and we were able to watch the " show" The pancakes are Ginormous!! They work together back there in symphony!! My eggs done to perfection !! Crispy bacon!! I will go back for a burrito next!! I watched them make them!! They looked delicious!!
honestly wasn't impressed by their honey cinnamon oat latte (~$8) -- not sure if the coffee or the oat milk was watery but the drink itself was. they added too much syrup or honey as well. I could barely taste the coffee
This is my second review of a location in Coronado and search for the perfect meal. I thoroughly enjoyed the fish taco with mango salsa. The burrito was a 10 out of 10. I've had guacamole a few spots in Coronado and this is probably my top choice. The service was exceptional along with the food great place to stop by for a quick bite.
Taco Tuesday is on at Night n Day cafe , fresh beer battered fish was perfectly prepared with great garnish and added habanero hot sauce. A thick juicy taco that causes the juices to flow. I also ordered the carne asada taco, each morsel of meat a tender juicy Mimi steak . This asada taco hit a 140 mile an hour home run. Well done by our cook Miguel ! Think taco Tuesday at Night n Day
Stopped in after spending a few hours exploring Hotel Del and walking the beach. I loved the variety of the menu. The seating inside is limited to counter style where you can watch the chefs cook up the meals. They have several tables set up outside I ordered an Americano and bottled water. Fish tacos and rolled tacos. They have a full selection of what looked like delicious diner food. Solid menu choices. There's something there for every taste. Our waitress was helpful in helping us order. She brought our order timely and it was fresh. We both forgot about the Americano and she brought it later and said it was on the house. Very thoughtful. The day was gorgeous and the noise level from the street was not bad and or distracting Recommend !!
Had a nice breakfast/brunch recently at Night and Day Cafe. The food was simple, classic, and exactly what we were in the mood for. The pancake was huge and had that soft, fluffy texture you want from a good diner-style meal. We also had a breakfast burrito with crispy hash browns that hit the spot, plus a plate with bacon, eggs, and hash browns that was satisfying and well cooked. The portions were definitely generous, although the prices felt very Coronado. Still, the food came out fresh and it was an easy, enjoyable brunch overall. One thing to know: on a busy day, if you're sitting outside, be prepared to get a few stares from people waiting for a table. Not the restaurant's fault, just part of the experience when a spot is popular. Nothing overly fancy, just good comfort food done well. Definitely a solid spot when you want a relaxed, no-fuss meal.
Stopped by on our way to the beach to get a California burrito (carne asada) and chips/salsa. The staff were super friendly and it was very easy to walk up and order to go. The burritos were extremely flavorful and fresh! I liked that you got a very decent portion and it paired well with chips and salsa which had a bit of a kick. Excited to come back to try additional menu items here!
We went for Saturday brunch and had an amazing meal. Sitting at the counter let us watch everything being prepared fresh right in front of us. The jalapeño hollandaise was incredible--honestly, I could eat it as a dip for tortilla chips, it was that good. The omelet was generously filled with fresh shrimp and full of flavor. Service was good overall. My only small complaint is that after waiting a long time for counter seating (by choice), three different parties were seated at the same time and our order was taken last. I wish there had been a little more attention to who was seated first. Aside from that, everything was spot-on. The décor is fun, with a classic diner vibe, and the whole place looked clean and well maintained. I'm excited to go back and try more items from the menu!
Food, service and ambience are great! The fish battered tacos are my favorite, the best fish tacos I love coming here for breakfast and dinner, people are always nice and treat you like family! Good job guys!!

It's a small, hole-in-the-wall type spot inside, but I grabbed a table outside at the end of the main street, which was a great way to enjoy the meal. Started with chips and salsa and for my main I ordered the carne asada tacos. Straightforward, enjoyable, and exactly what I was looking for. Nothing fancy, just good food in a relaxed setting. A nice find if you're nearby and want something simple and dependable.
We had the best experience and meals. The restaurant has outdoor seating and a counter top bar inside. The staff was fantastic and the chef efficient considering he was the only one behind the counter. The food was was delicious but be aware that the portions are larger enough to share. The mimosa flight YUMMMM. Full menu from breakfast to burgers to salads. I would absolutely eat here again.
Come here with a seriously empty stomach! Came here early on a Sunday morning and walked out feeling more full than Thanksgiving dinner! Wow, the Coronado burrito is delicious. The perfect mix of everything you want for breakfast with perfectly cooked bacon, hashbrowns, avocado, and scrambled eggs in a burrito with the salsa drizzled in you could just go to town on that! This feels more local than most of the other restaurants along this street. I like it. I mean, it's a homey little breakfast burrito diner. Or maybe it's more dingy than homey? Maybe it depends on your point of view. Plus, the dude is cooking right in front of you; obviously not a classy place. Nice bit of heat on the tortilla and fluffy eggs. Good avocado. No default salsa, but not too dry even without it since it's well made. I kind of like the hash browns too for some reason. It's something about the amount of crisp and the ratio to the softness that feels right somehow. It does feel a bit pricey for what you're getting, but that's everywhere in this neighborhood. Like, that just looks like cheap shredded cheese. Also, the steak was.......okay. The texture was fine, but I did feel that it was a tad bland and generic. The waitress offered coffee to-go, which was great. Although, I have a random nitpick about the cups with the built in sleeves. Ironically, these are not as good and will get too hot in your hand since part of what gives the insulation is the sliver of separation between the detached sleeve and the cup. Anyways, I do like this place, but I'm gonna lose street cred again if I give this five stars. Lol.
I am now a fan of Chilaquiles! I was in the mood for something different than my usual eggs, bacon and potatoes breakfast. After 10 minutes of looking at breakfast options, chilaquiles started to catch my attention. I landed on Night & Day Cafe's Chilaquiles. I am a scramble egg girl so this Chilaquiles was perfect. It came with shredded beef, beens, rice and of course the tortilla chips. I got red salsa to add on top and it was seriously delicious. It was a lot of food so I had it for breakfast and then again for lunch later. I ordered through UberEats for pick up. My food was ready upon arrival and very hot. I was greeted with a smile and hello. It's a nice cute cafe in Coronado if you have not checked it out already. read more

Delightful start to the day! Was down from Los Angeles to enjoy a beautiful day in San Diego. Had an early start and wanted chilaquiles. You get to choose red or green salsa. I got red and it was fabulous. Eggs over medium were perfection. Outdoor seating is great cute neighborhood. Staff was excellent read more

We decided to have brunch here on a Thursday before hitting the road home. A great origin story and a really cute little spot with a fun vibe and intimate indoor counter seating. Two tvs plaing Padres game when we were there, but we sat outside on an awesome afternoon. Service was excellent, as was the food. My wife got the Machacas con Huevos and I got the Stan the Man Mahi Mahi Burrito. They also have great housemade salsas, habanero and chile verde. Fun spot in Coronado! read more

Service and location were both great! My California burrito tasted like a California burrito, but for $21 I was expecting a massive burrito that was over the top... it wasn't. It was just your standard burrito. They normally serve it with enchilada sauce and sour cream on top but I asked them to add it in the burrito, which they didn't. Seating was very limited, belly up bar inside and a few tables outside. If you sit at the bar inside, you're literally sitting along side the line cooks. Not good for large or medium groups. It's on the main street in Coronado with no dedicated parking lot so it could be difficult at times to find a spot. read more
Night and Day Café in Coronado is a hidden gem! At first glance, it might not look like much from the outside -- nothing too fancy -- but don't let that fool you. The food is absolutely fantastic. We were lucky to get a seat outside since there aren't too many tables, but the vibe was casual and relaxed. The Mexican food here is top-notch -- fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The chilaquiles were especially amazing -- probably some of the best I've had! They also serve beer, which was a great bonus. Service was exceptional. Chicken wings was great . Tasted so good .. If you're in Coronado and craving authentic Mexican food in a laid-back spot, this place is a must-visit. Thought of giving 4 stars but this one deserves a 5 star read more
Both times we've dined in, it's been such a pleasant experience! Friendly staff, quick service, and best of all the generous portions! One burrito, split, is more than enough to fill us both. Definitely ask for the green & red salsas, very flavorful spicy kick. We loved the Beef Chimichanga and Surf & Turf burritos! We came on a Sunday ~4pm and unbeknownst it was happy hour half off apps & drinks which was such a great deal! read more

Saw this place on an instagram reel for taco Tuesday. Got right up don't street parking. We were quickly greeted and taken care of. There's a beachy vibe to the place and with so many excellent reviews I had to try it. Friend ordered fish tacos with mango salsa and they were gigantic. He said they were really good. I got one each of the adobada, carne asada and pollo asado street tacos. So yummy! Definitely want to try other things next time. read more

We waited for this place for over an hour, and for this reason I was expecting it to be delicious. Instead, it was just really mediocre and expensive. I got the monte cristo sandwich and it was not that good. The bread was super soggy, and they put an insane amount of ham in it (like 2.5 inches of ham!) that made it taste kind of funny. My partner ordered the carne asada burrito and it wasn't good either. It was bland and the meat was a bit tough. The accompanying salsas were so bland and had no flavor, especially the green sauce. The jalapeño poppers and fries were great, though! I also didn't like how the seats at the counter were right by the cooks. It was noisy and claustrophobic. Also, the cooks were letting their sleeves touch the grill, the food, whatever they were working on, etc. I would never wait the amount of time I waited for this restaurant again, and even if there wasn't a wait, the expensive prices made me not want to come back. I would be okay paying for quality food, but the food was simply not worth the price. read more
While exploring Coronado, we stumbled upon this hidden gem! We came on a Sunday at 12:30 PM, thankfully we dodged the brunch rush. Parking is difficult, we parked at a nearby neighborhood. We sat at the counter in front of the grill so it was entertaining to see the cook in action. The inside is very small and loud, but there is outdoor seating you could ask for. We ordered: - Banana Pancake: They really weren't lying about the size of the pancake! Great texture, but still a pretty basic pancake. - Monte Cristo: They gave a thick ham steak that was a little tough to cut through and the cook gave us a ton of crispy hashbrowns, which was nice. Food was okay, good service, friendly staff, and affordable prices. We'd come back if we're in the area! read more

A very popular and good restaurant! Be prepared for a wait, as limited seating and again popular. Service was great despite the busy time. Didn't go inside, but looked nice and outdoor seating was lovely. Food was delicious, got the chilaquiles with red guajilo sauce and carne asada, very big portion and sooo good and flavorful. Homestyle breakfast found in beautiful sunny Coronado. I've walked by this restraunt for awhile the line kept me away. Today we waited about an hour, went next door for coffee as we waited. Once called we were seated outside besides a counter inside this is all they have. That would explain the long wait times. So many people coming you can tell no one minds at all. The food !!! I loved the hashbrowns they topped most of the ones I've tried to date. Not greasy at all super crispy and salted to perfection. Not to crazy about my eggs today. The soft giant buttermilk pancake made up for it. The burrito was stuffed with so much egg that was a nice surprise. No short cuts at this place. They are legit and serve you with the biggest smiles. My husband and I came for breakfast once and after that it has become one of our favorite breakfast go-to spots!! Some of our favorite menu items include: the machaca burrito, chilaquiles (both green and red sauce), the denver omelette, and the pancake w/banana and chocolate chips. One pancake is good to share - it's true, it's the size of a frisbee! Everything is so tasty and you can tell the salsas are fresh, made from scratch. Also, service here is top-notch. The hostess and the servers are always polite, friendly, and go above and beyond. read more

Let's start off with the service just amazing every server with a big smile... The super star of the place is DEF chef food is amazing very fresh very tasteful perfect seasoning small kitchen hard to believe its all cooked n infront of you. Its so hard to pick what plate or what to order everything looks so good... I do recommend give your self lil bit of time to be seated inside or outside sitting... if your in coronado area DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR STOP N IN YOU WONT REGRET IT I PROMISE YOU... Amazing food! Thought it was a little overprices ($18 breakfast sandwhich) but then my food came with an entire massive omlette IN my sammie. Amazing! Also super speedy and diner vibe is cool. read more
