Excellent place to kick back for some drinks along the waterfront. A super causal place that a wide selection of beer offerings in addition seltzers and ciders. If you are not interested in alcohol there some Addie drinks on the menu. Plus the brewery offers limited snacks for purchase such as nuts, pretzels, etc. if you fancy more, often on the patio there a food pop ups. The last time we visited they were offering bbq. The main reason I like to visit this place as they offer solid beer and cider choices. Something for every palette. To order you go up to the counter and grab a seat. There is a wide selection of seating indoors and outdoors. Inside you can find some comfy lounge chairs. Whereas outside there are large tables with bench seating plus a bar like area with stools overlooking the water. Plenty of umbrellas to stay in the shade. Great beers, fantastic views, and super friendly service. Tabula Rasa Porter is one of our favorites. Very yummy. Mulligan Amber Ale is great also. Good flavor, goes down smooth. Beach Bum Burgers were there. So we had delicious burgers with Eppig beers. And Multiple TVs to watch the World Cup! Life was perfect this afternoon. Nectar coffee also there. Lots of tables/chairs. I should start by noting that this review is coming from a non-beer drinker. As of last night, I have now been to Eppig twice, both times when beer-loving friends have been visiting from out of town. As a non-beer drinker, when I go to a brewery, I look for a comfortable and scenic location, a place that is dog friendly, food options, beer that my friends enjoy, and at least one or two non-beer options (cider or wine) for myself. Eppig checks all of these boxes. First, they always seem to have some type of food booth outside. I'm not sure if they always have the same food, or if they have various pop-ups. Last night, they had pizza. My friend enjoyed some garlic cheese bread. Eppig is located along the harbor near Shelter Island, which is one of my favorite places in San Diego. We sat in comfy Adirondack chairs, watching the sun set over the city while we enjoyed our drinks. Next, my dog was welcome there, and she had fun meeting a few friends. Finally, my friend enjoyed his Hazy IPA. I, on the other hand, had a choice of three ciders. They gave me tastes and I chose the SPG Cider. It was smooth and not too sweet. It is rare for me to say that I look forward to going to a brewery, but I will definitely return to Eppig. read more

I've always loved visiting the Eppig Biergarten in Point Loma. You cannot get any better of an atmosphere to hang out with friends or family. It's absolutely beautiful by the marina with all the boats and there's tons of seating. I used to hesitate going there though because there wasn't food available for the longest time. Finally, you can get something to eat! There's an Italian woman that owns a downtown panini restaurant on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays that is serving up, bomb Paninis and a couple of salads, made fresh for you on the spot. We tried the spicy shrimp hoagie and the meatball sandwich and both were fantastic. Huge portions, wonderful flavor and ready in just a couple minutes. She also told me that when the weather gets a little bit cooler, she will be making fresh pastas!!! Yum! My only beef with Eppig now is that if you don't feel like drinking alcohol, they don't really have very many non-alcoholic options. They have a couple of bougie local craft sodas and tea, but I'm really surprised they don't make even one nonalcoholic beer or cider. I'm not always in the mood to drink alcohol but I love the atmosphere and the availability of food now. There is a big sober/drink less movement now and they are missing out on potentially attracting more people. Most of the other local breweries that I have been to have at least one non-alcoholic offering that's not a soda. read more

Found this nice ocean front view brewing spot, with tasty ciders and nice sunshine! There is a lot of outside sitting all around the brewery, lots of options to drink - and eat, along with nice staff! I will be honest though, I walked into the area feeling a bit out of place, it may because my friend and I looked much younger then the crowd that was there, or maybe I had an all pink outfit. Either way, I got over it immediately because I'm allowed even entitled I would say, to take up space in different places. Staff is very friendly. I stopped by with my dogs after a walk on shelter island and the staff was nice enough to help me by bringing out my beer to me while I held the leashes. Very cool outdoor location. Quite a bit of seating and most has a veiew of the water, boats, and there is a decent amount of shade. When we walked in we were greeted and given a moment to make our decisions. They had quite a few options from ales, lagers and ciders, all made by Eppig. I went with the Ube cider (very tasty if you like purple yam based items), and my sister went with their Kolsch (sorry no umlaut on my keyboard). Both were great. This Eppig Brewing taproom is simple, yet great views. The taproom itself is maybe 30 x 30 ft with open doors. It's mostly open with a couple 2 tops to stand at. Just feet outside is a patio and a dozen or two large chairs and picnic tables overlooking the bay. Most seats were full. The chairs' seats are slightly deep and angled. The chairs smartly had a bit of sandpaper to handle the beer in place with possible condensation. The staff was quick and nice. I prefer my beers more hoppy than they had, sharper with aftertaste. The flight we got didn't represent that. They must have just added a golf simulator which kills seating inside and views. Clearly a clueless move by owners that think this could be a viable revenue stream while they kill the experience.
