Everything we tried was fresh, balanced, and super drinkable. You can tell they care about quality and consistency. Big bonus points for being organic--it's rare to find a brewery that commits to that and still delivers such bold, well-crafted flavors. Service was friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. The staff took the time to talk through the different styles and gave great recommendations. Overall, 10/10 experience. Great beer, cool atmosphere, and totally worth crossing the bay. Rodrigo was awesome and knowledgeable. This brewery is the first USDA Organic brewery in San Diego! He provided great recommendations to beers we wouldn't normally try. We also ordered slices of pizza. He overheard us saying we would be sharing one of the slices and he took the liberty to have it cut in half. It was pretty quiet, maybe because they charge for parking, but I didn't mind since it made the place feel more relaxed. Inside, it looks a bit more like a café, simple and minimal, but the drinks were really yummy and refreshing. The pizza was delicious and made the perfect snack before the airport. We decided to stop by while we were in the area, and we're glad we did. The location is fantastic--right near the water with a spacious outdoor seating area, complete with umbrellas for shade. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a drink. I tried a beer that was part of a veteran's collaboration, and my wife had a blueberry sour that she really enjoyed. Awesome place and location, right by the water and close to eateries and shops. We stopped by with a group of friends as this place was their top recommendation. We ordered their blueberry sour and collaboration IPA. They were both very tasty, the blueberry was light and refreshing. Anyone from a ST will always get my support and respect! I really enjoyed this light and refreshing beer. I highly recommend it if you're in the USS Midway area. The prices are not too outrageous. I heard nothing but great things about the pizza even though I didn't try it yet, but make no mistake. I will. The area and restaurant are very chill. Just not a lot of parking and you'll have to pay for it. The staff is super friendly and helpful with all of the beers and food. Facility was very clean throughout including the restrooms. Huge shoutout to the General Manager, Amanda and the whole Protector Brewery team for a wonderful experience. Amanda was very accommodating and reserved the whole patio for our group. We had a wedding in San Diego and hosted our guests at Protector Brewery. The space was plenty for 30 people. Weather and location was beautiful, very clean and new space and best of all, everyone loved the food and drinks. We all kept going back for more. The different size seltzers/beer along with non-alcoholic drink options helped everyone try something. This place was kid friendly so parents got to enjoy some time while the kids were enjoying the patio space. The modern interior and the nice fireplace was a nice touch and vibe. I wish I got the persons name that helped us that day but he was truly awesome and chill. Allowed our group to really have a great time and didn't rush us. We sort of stumbled upon this place while exploring the area around the hotel. Staying at the hotel over the weekend and popped in to ask them their hours. They are very friendly and let us know. They closed at 9 PM. On our way back to the hotel I knew that I was going to be a little hungry but not hungry enough to order some thing from room service and definitely not needing something from the restaurants in the hotel. We stopped by because we noticed that there was a sign that said pizza by the slices. The girl that was at the counter was very friendly and let us know that if we ordered the slices how we did, it would take longer. She recommended that we instead order a whole pizza and do half of one type of pizza and half of the other. Everything came out just exactly as we wanted. We got to wait outside in their patio area. Even though it was at night, it still was kind of warm because they had the fire going. The pizza was really good. Read a few reviews and decided to give them a shot. I'm a sucker for veteran owned businesses. First, the beer, not the best but also not the worst. I give it a solid 3.5 out of 5. My favorite was the SD West coast IPA. They were out of a few I would have liked to try. While I was reading the story on their website, I got to meet Amanda the GM. Very personal and a joy to talk to. Now, on to the pizza. I read 1 review on how bad it was, dude must have been smoking some bad stuff. I did a build your own which was fantastic! I started with red sauce, pepperoni, black olives, pepperoncini, and prosciutto. Cooked perfectly by Sawyer the chef on duty tonight. I would have loved to sit outside and people watched but it was an uncharacteristically rainy day in SD. Maybe next time. I will definitely be back! read more

They told us they were basically closed already and wouldn't serve us. So disappointing considering its ratings. Hopefully the owner recognizes their staff cost them customers. Cute newer brewery in San Diego! Close to the uss museum. There are couches outside and then tables inside with some tvs. They have pizza by the slice for $4 which was a pretty good deal and nice for a quick snack. They were out of a lot of the beers when we went there (Sunday of Veterans Day weekend). I did try a few and also had the peach mojito cocktail which was good. The service was good and they were very nice and let try multiple options. I like the light and vibe. read more
