The cheese was rich and flavorful, and it paired perfectly with the red-orange mocktail. Every bite was packed with flavor. The burger was equally impressive. It was cooked perfectly and topped with a cilantro sauce that absolutely made the dish. The sauce added a fresh, savory kick that brought everything together. We are down in Ocean Beach often, we decided to check this place out. I can't believe we haven't been here sooner, their beers are awesome award winning beers. I can see why they are award winning because they are so crisp, clean and refreshing. We were there during Happy Hour, the beers were $2 off draft beers, and their Happy Hour food was amazing. We had people stop by our table asking where we got the food from. We love their chicken nachos, Buffalo Chicken wings and large fries. We never leave hungry, the portions area good size and very shareable. We absolutely love this place, we haven't been to the rooftop yet, but will check it out next time. What an amazing location! Just steps away from the beach, they have good vibes and great food. We grabbed a table on their large, pet- friendly patio. They also have rooftop seating with views of the ocean that we will have to check out next time. We were there during happy hour and tried some of their half-off food. We got chicken nachos and garlic parmesan wings. The food was delicious, the chicken wings were very crispy and didn't have a ton of batter filler. The beers were also happy hour prices, they have several award winning beers, I enjoyed their jalapeno Saison that won a gold medal at San Diego county beer festival. They offer some of the nicest rooftop views overseeing the beach pier. First brewery stop for me on a Monday afternoon. It was not packed and I was able to get a seat upstairs. They have two bars first floor and second lope opens a little later in the day. I tried two different beers on tap: Bank's Bled Red and a hazy IPA Bay City Brewing. I enjoyed both beers. 5/5 I also had their mozzarella sticks and fried pickle chips. 4/5 not bad for bar food. Last stop on the Beer Passport for the weekend. What a way to finish. This place has a view, good food and great beer. We had a few West Coast IPA's and didn't want to leave. He always wanted to eat in another high rise location within OB and this was just disappointing. One thing I've always noticed is when you're in a bougie area and eatery, yet the food tastes like it's from a cafeteria! I got their Caesar salad, it was okay, wouldn't order that again. I ordered Buffalo fire roasted wings, now I'm not sure about you but fire roasted doesn't scream burnt to me, I might be wrong but my first set of wings were burnt. Then my friend noted that they are fire roasted, and the second batch wasn't as burnt but they just were overcooked tough wings lol. I know this bc this is how my mom liked her chicken so if you're like my mom, get those chicken wings! They're probably fire but not for people that don't like drier wings. I like mine to be juicyyyyyy! My friend Rebecca, whom shares my bday, she had quinoa tacos. Those are not for me! Trying to remember what my friend Caity had but cannot! That's pretty lame considering I was obviously planning on buying a drink anyway. So I ended up spending $10 on a really gross beer that I wouldn't have otherwise ordered had they just let me try it. The table next to me ordered nachos and they were told after they paid for them that was there was no cheese for the nachos. Who runs out of the most essential ingredient for nachos, but still lets someone order them? The rooftop view is great but I didn't appreciate the frosty attitude of the bartender. So my friend wanted to check out this brewery so we headed there and paid for parking(street parking is limited and like playing the lotto). We went up to the rooftop and found a spot in the back. I went wandering and was able to scoop a spot after a couple left. We grabbed some beers and ordered food. The wings were sriracha honey with ranch dressing. The wings had the perfect balance of sweetness and heat. They were also tender and truly hit the spot. My friend enjoyed the chicken sandwich and truly enjoyed the thin cut fries. This place had a great view, good beer, and mixed food. I'd definitely recommend it because the rooftop is a great spot to enjoy a beer with an ocean view, and I liked (didn't love) their beers, but the food was definitely mixed. On one hand, the fish and chips were good, but they were too greasy and the seasoning was basically just a bunch of old bay and they were incredibly salty. And the fried pickles were also way too salty and greasy, and they stuck together so they were difficult to eat. But on the other hand, the mahi tacos with the habanero cilantro cream sauce were literally some of the best fish tacos we've ever had. So be weary of the standard greasy pub fare, but their beer and less greasy dishes are good paired up with their general vibes. read more

We met some friends at the OB Brewery for lunch. We'd been before, but had never eaten here before. We started downstairs where the lovely and talented Megan was behind the bar. We placed our drink and food orders. Megan poured my beer and had to grab a seltzer for Becky. No seltzer on tap, only canned Topo Chico :-( At least that's better than White Claw. Bex is so over White Claw. She handed us a number to place on our table. We headed up the three flights of stairs to the top floor. The open rooftop patio with the great views. The four of us found a great spot with views of the water and of Newport Ave for some excellent people watching. A short while later our food arrived. Wow! What great food at OB Brewery! Between the four of us we ordered: *House-Made chips and salsa $8 House-made Salsa Fresca served with House-fried tortilla chips. Add house-made queso dip for 3 bucks extra. Fantastic housemade chips! The salsa was not very spicy but super flavorful. The queso dip was money! Ooey, gooey, spicy deliciousness! *OB Brewery Beer Wings $16 House Beer Soaked and Fried Crispy, Choice of the following: Spicy Buffalo & Blue Cheese, Sriracha Honey with Ranch, Garlic Parmesan or BBQ with Ranch We chose Sriracha. Simply put, some of the best wings we've ever had. *Onion Rings $8 Fried Onion Rings served with Jalapeño Ranch. I ordered these because the Jalapeño Ranch intrigued me. The rings were outstanding! The Jalapeño Ranch was too. *Pollo Caliente Sliders $13 3 Fried Chicken Sliders with Habanero-Basil Aioli, Lettuce Tomato, Pepper Jack Cheese and Pickles. Hands down some of the best sliders ever. Chicken or otherwise. Easily way better than some beef or pulled pork sliders I've had. The chicken tenders were perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the interior. Certainly not the frozen variety from Costco. They were soo good. Piping hot with a great cheese-pull. They also have lots of local of beer, cider, and kombucha selections on tap. There is also a beer garden with ping pong, indoor area, and a rooftop bar and seating area with killer views!!! 1 star Extremely unprofessional experience. The upstairs bartender's behavior was completely out of line. My wife had accidentally spilled something on her clothes and went to the restroom to change into another outfit. The bartender came in, visibly irritated about waiting, and said to her in a harsh tone, "Are you even a customer? Because you definitely just changed." Her demeanor was aggressive -- she raised her voice, took a confrontational stance, and acted as if she was looking for an argument. It made the situation unnecessarily tense and uncomfortable for everyone nearby. This type of behavior is unacceptable for someone representing a business. There are plenty of other great places in the area where staff treat customers respectfully -- I'd recommend choosing one of those instead. read more

Off the main tourist radar in San Diego is OB Brewery, in the wonderful beach area of Ocean Beach. It's only a few blocks from the beach, and the main allure is the rooftop patio with views of the ocean & pier in the distance. I tried some mozzarella sticks and a fried chicken sandwich. The mozzarella sticks (2.5/5) were hearty, but of a standard frozen food service variety without much flavor. The chicken sandwich (3.5/5) was decent and tasty, served on a great brioche bun which elevated the sandwich experience. The fries served with the sandwich were fresh, but otherwise average. The Yelp check in offer for a beer sampler was honored, and the wheat beer sampled was solid. The service and atmosphere (4.5/5) is what elevated the overall experience as the staff was extremely laid back, yet cordial and friendly. I'd recommend a visit to OB Brewery as it has some great vibes and it's always a treat to have a meal or drinks with peaceful ocean views. read more
