What a great scene at night. Love the ambience, crowd buzz, and style of this place. Casual but upscale if that makes sense. Good idea to have a reservation. Open for coffee breakfast lunch and dinner. The pineapple Thai basil non alcoholic was quite the treat. Harvest bowl was phenomenal. Grilled vegetables galore-portobello, cauliflower, snap peas, sweet potato, artichoke, avocado, quinoa grains, and more. The sea bass dish was a tad underwhelming due to small portion and the crust was overbearing. Dessert was delicious and a wonderful way to wrap up a wonderful meal experience overall

Crispy tuna special roll...delicious!
Jan C.

We had a beautiful lunch at The Henry. Great table on the patio. We had a reservation, which was needed on a busy weekend. Our party shared their crispy tuna appetizer, a Caesar salad with salmon and the burger. All got two thumbs up. Next time we are on Coronado, we'll return.

Visited this spot three times during our visit. It was so good. Two times were for coffee and smoothie and one time for dinner. The service is on point! Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Emilio (manager), Enrique(server) and Mark (server). They were all excellent! Enjoyed both the wildflower and matcha drinks I ordered. Everything is so fresh! My husband loved his Sprouts and Squash either salmon. I tried a bite and it was delish! Not gonna lie - I grabbed more than a bite. The Wagyu cheeseburger was cooked just right. I'm not usually a fan of sauces, but the sauce on this burger was A+! Emilio, the manager, found out we were from Indy and gave us some Fox group restaurants in our area. Needless to say we'll be there! The vibe is very nice with the greens and creams and brassy gold. It reminds me of Ralph's coffee shops - only bigger and better!

Valentine's Day 2025 Pre-Fixe menu $85/pp
Rana R.

Better late than never- this review is solely for the pre-fixe menu offered at the Henry on Valentine's Day 2026. The Henry has been a staple in Coronado for a while and this is the first time we've tried it. It didn't disappoint! The vibes were high on Valentine's Day & although we had to wait a little longer than expected with reservations, it didn't kill the mood. All staff members were smiling and were nice. Our waiter was equally as nice & helpful with our menu questions. The Henry offered a 3 course pre-fix menu priced at $85 a person which is a great deal since other restaurants were offering the same for $100+ a person. Their menu offered a lot of the faves from their regular menu per our waiter. Even if it was a pre-fixe menu, there were a lot choices! Felt like their entire menu was on there, which was appreciated. It was lively out in the patio, but not annoyingly so. Wasn't as "romantic" as I expected, maybe cause there were a couple of TVs to the side of us. First dishes we tried were: Smoked Salmon & Caviar 5/5 Perfect app to start with, very shareable. Also had the Short Rib Potstickers and those were perfect as well! The sauce was the difference. Main dishes we tried were the Braised Short Rib & the Chateau Filet "Oscar Style" [Additional $20]. The Braised short Rib's sauce (kind of like the pot stickers) were really good. That's what set this Short Rib apart from the other ones I've tried. I didn't get tired of it while the mushrooms were such a happy surprise (cause I didnt read the menu) lol The Filet was good in it's own right. Kinda weird how they cut it though. The cuts were not proportioned at all. Not sure if that was a technique, but it just looked weird. Cooked medium-ish. The center was a little undercooked, but everything else was fine. For dessert, we chose the lemon olive oil cake - ah this one was soooo stinking good, I finished it all! That's surprising because the dessert was a full on dish. Thought we'd only get a portion since it was a 3 course meal, but nope, it was a full dessert. My lady had the Chocolate Fudge Pie which again was really good in it's own right, but my dessert was better :) The Henry is a great restaurant. Will come back to try their brunch! The parking situation can get a little tedious, but other than that no complaints here. Thanks for a great evening yall!

This is one of the prettiest places I have been to in a while. Food & Drink: We were here for brunch, and their brunch menu did not disappoint. I absolutely love their Avocado tasks, simple yet flavorful. The umami Brussels sprouts were the star of the table, though. Ambiance: This place is very beautiful with the big doors that let you peek onto the street. Very spacious with enough space between tables. Definitely all the feels of an upscale spot. Service: We walked in for brunch on a Sunday afternoon. Since they had a wait to get seated we opted to sit at the bar. The bartender ho srved us seemed a bit snobbish but every other peorson the staff was delightful to talk to and work with. In-all: This place has all the vibe and good food. Cannot wait to get back and try their dinner menu.

My wife and I had gifted my parents this past Christmas with an experiential gift where our gift was to take them anywhere they wanted to go to eat lunch or dinner, grab dessert, and hang out with us while we serve as their Uber. If you know my parents, which I've been blessed to know for 55+ years, they don't care where we take them out and would have been happy just hanging out at their house. Since my parents aren't picky, we decided to take them to our son and his girlfriend's fave restaurant The Henry. Both of them swear by The Henry, so we chose The Henry because we knew our boy and his suitor would love to join us too. This was my wife and my first time dining here and now I know why The Henry is our son's fave. It's a classy restaurant in a beautiful town, the customer service was good, and the food was amazing. 4.5 Stars!!! The Henry is located on Coronado Island and can be reached either by taking the Coronado Bridge or driving down the Silver Strand making sure that you're on the main drag Orange Avenue. The restaurant is between C Avenue and 10th Street, it is just south of Clayton's Coffee Shop, on the same side as Bay Books and Moo Time ice cream, next to Francaise, and it's across the street from Geppetto's. Parking is mainly street parking, so you might have to park far especially on the weekend. Highly suggest you make reservations because The Henry is a popular restaurant. There is plenty of seating at the restaurant and it can easily accommodate large groups. You can either sit inside or sit outside and people watch. The outdoor round tables are made of marble, there's outdoor umbrella seating, there is high top tables, bar seating, indoor booth seating, and indoor wooden high top tables with leather seats. The decor is modern and old school at the same time with a beautiful painted mural, a wall of framed pics, black and white pics, decorative light fixtures, and an open kitchen that you can peep through a glass partition. The staff is friendly and our server provided good service, but I wished he checked on us more often. Our reservation was at 11:30am, so we were eating during the brunch and lunch hour. The menu included brunch choices, appetizers, salads, and entrees. Since this dining excursion was a Christmas gift for my parents, we wanted to make this special for them. For our appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and the Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. The spicy tuna & crispy rice comes with fresno chile, avocado, cilantro, scallion, and sweet soy. That was really fresh and tasty, but know that it only comes with 5 pieces, so order double for a party of six or more. The pretzels & provolone fondue come with large round balls of pretzels that you dip in the cheesy fondue. I really enjoyed that appetizer because of the hearty round pretzels and when dipped, they were really yummy. The star of my meal was my entree, which was the Wagyu Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, charred onion, white cheddar, american cheese, henry sauce, and fries. The bread is a toasted bun and when I took my very first bite, I knew I was going to enjoy it. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and with that first bite, I can tell that The Henry serves quality food, which was evident by that burger and the two appetizers we consumed. The fries were delectable as well and when dipped in the provided house made ranch, my entire entree was delicious. It truly was a blessing to spend quality time with my family. The Henry was a great restaurant that my wife and I were able to treat my parents for their Christmas gift and I benefitted as well from a memorable meal.

We celebrated a birthday at The Henry in Coronado and had a great experience. The restaurant feels super cute and thoughtfully designed. Every corner looks intentional, clean, and welcoming. Service stood out most. Friendly, attentive, and well paced without hovering. Food tasted fresh and the flavors were on point. Portions felt on the smaller side for the price, so expect to spend more than you might for what lands on the table. Still, for a special occasion, the vibe and service made the visit feel worth it. Good pick for birthdays, date nights, or any celebration where you want a polished setting and strong hospitality.

Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice appetizer

Lovely dinner here with a group of friends on a Friday night. I recommend making a reservation because when we got here I'd look like there were some people waiting. But the place was nice and spacious and had a lovely aesthetic on the outside as well. Food was also a 10 on 10! Everything looked amazing and we had a really hard time picking what to get! Especially on the appetizer menu. Famous Pretzel Buns & Provolone (10/10) is a must try! The cheese sauce that it comes with is really delicious and worthy to be had on its own. Umami brussels sprouts (11/10) are probably the best blessings without some have ever had at a restaurant! Most places make them crispy and they are so oily but this place was just perfect! Not too oily and that umami flavor was supreme! Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice appetizer - 12/10 Just speechless! Pressed Yellowtail Sushi 11/10 Another really great one here! Seared Ahi Chop Salad 7/10 Honestly, it was a good healthy option, but I wasn't too much of a fan of how that ahi tuna went with everything else. I asked for dressing on the side and I'm glad they delivered on that it was a nice combination overall but just not something I would personally go for again. Also if you do get this, I would not recommend taking leftovers because they ahi tuna was not the same the next day. Husband got the Braised Short Rib Braised Short Rib and it was 11 / 10 The bourbon caramel sauce with the mushrooms was a really great combination. He also asked to swap out the smashed potatoes for the Crispy Japanese sweet potato and it was a phenomenal decision. Overall, what a beautiful dish! The meat was cooked perfectly and the flavor was Superior! Honestly, even those Japanese sweet potatoes (12/10) on their own work unbelievable! Two of our friends both got the All American Burger with fries on the side and they loved them! Molten Butter Cake (10/10) with warm caramel, pretzel toffee, vanilla gelato What a beautiful dessert! They actually gave us this on the house because of friend was celebrating our birthday here and it was a really delicious one. The cake was actually warm and soft and together with that gelato it was a beautiful combination! The softness with the coolness and the crunch of the coffee WOW We all knew it was a little heavy on the calories though so we split it among 5 of us and still had some to go

One of my favorite dining experiences of my girls trip with my mom. The restaurant itself is beautiful and very close to the beach. The cocktails were incredible and food was very fresh. Our waiter, Freddy, was one of the best people I have ever met. He was not only incredibly helpful and funny but also gave us future recs for our remaining time in San Diego. I wished we could take him with us the rest of the trip!

Go North
Josh W.

If this is what "going north" tastes like sign me up for a multimillion dollar mortgage at an 8% interest rate in Del Mar. Don't be fooled if someone tries to sell you a beverage claiming to be the best drink ever (you know who I am talking about). The Go North at The Henry knows no rival. If a plastic cup with ice isn't your style, sitting down in the restaurant is worth it alone to be served this tasty espresso concoction in a fancy glass. Is this an espresso martini? No. Do I have a problem nonetheless? Absolutely. Come for the espresso laden drinks. Stay until lunch for the brussel sprouts and Japanese sweet potatoes. You won't be disappointed.

Strawberry Margarita

This is our 4th visit to this restaurant. All of our visits were excellent; I realized that it's time to share our experience with The Henry's. I ordered their classic hamburger, it was really delicious and it tasted like a wagyu. We ordered different kinds of meals that really savor our taste buds. The drinks we ordered were all great. I ordered a strawberry margarita it is so good and so refreshing. About the ambiance, people were friendly and polite. Our server was so attentive to our needs. She's very friendly, courteous and polite (I forgot to get her name.) She's an excellent asset to The Henry's. The price was reasonable and it's worth it. This place was packed even after The Thanksgiving Day. A 100% recommendation to our San Diego tourists. To The Henry, keep it up!

This place has excellent staff and customer service, we came as a walk in and the hostess let us know it was about an hour wait but also offered to check bar if we were open to it. She said she had openings since we were okay with sitting there and we got in right away. I must say I also love how they decorated for the holidays, beautiful lights out front and trees decorated inside. We ordered and the food tasted great! I got the braised short ribs with potatoes and mushrooms and I must say the flavor profile was delicious. I also tried a non alcoholic honeydew highball and they have fresh honeydew juice! It was delicious but you must want a juice forward drink. Added: Went again in the morning for breakfast and I was not disappointed!!! They have the best omelette with loads of turkey, cheese and egg white with guacamole on top. I also got the pushing daisies as iced and hot Togo. I must say both are delicious but you might want to ask for extra orange blossom if you want that flavor. The matcha is ceremonial grade organic and they don't over sweeten but it's creamy and delicious! The breakfast dishes come with potatoes but the fruit is the best it came with apples, strawberries, blueberries, pineapples and all was fresh. This is a must when staying in Coronado! We stayed at Hotel Del and it was the perfect walk, you can come for Breakfast, lunch and Dinner and you will never be disappointed they have amazing selection and gluten free options as well as vegetarian.

I love the habanero bagel, it's one of my favorites, but just be warned it is very hot. Definitely don't eat it without something cold to drink. They also have a breakfast sandwich called the San Diego which is a favorite of several people I know. You chose the bagel you want it with and they add fried eggs, bacon, cheese and aioli. I highly reccomend it. I've not had a lot of their deinis, but i did order the cinna-bee which has honey, cinnamon, espresso and milk. I thought it was good and would order it again. Definitely check them out and try some of their bagels, or perhaps one of their sandwiches.

I tried several coffee shops along Seaport Village--some stood out for creative flavors, others for strong espresso--but Spill the Beans nailed the perfect balance every single time. We went back multiple times, and the consistency was impressive. My go-to was an iced "Basic Sitch" with oat milk, while my husband loved the warm "Cinna-bee." Both were incredible. The espresso quality was top-tier, and the drinks were made quickly without sacrificing flavor. Our only regret? Discovering this place halfway through the trip. Had we found it sooner, we would've been there every single day. This review is solely based on the coffee, as we didn't get a chance to try their breakfast sandwiches, though the options looked appetizing.
