Our server was Chris and he was OUTSTANDING...very attentive and very friendly. Both managers visited our table several time to make sure we were good. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that what I had was just a bit underwhelming. We ordered the braised beef potstickers, california roll, and grilled and chilled shrimp for appetizers. The meat in the potstickers was very mushy. The california roll was decent. The grilled and chilled shrimp were fine. My husband had the filet - ordered medium well, served medium...the twice baked potato was very small and seemed to be overcooked. I had the lemon chicken entree - the taste was good, but was just a bit dry...it was served with fries, which was fine. The other couple ordered the skirt steak and the braised short ribs which they seemed to enjoy. My drink was amazing - the Amalfi Spritz. For dessert, we tried the butter cake...again, a bit underwhelming and not really good on flavor...I did taste the toffee and caramel, but the cake itself had no taste. The Henry is a great brunch spot in Coronado! While I don't come down to this area often because of how overwhelming the large tourist presence can be, it can be nice to visit during the off season. Reservations are a must. This place is crowded and even with a reservation, we had to wait a little bit for our table to be available. I've driven past this joint so many times, and it always seems slammed. I finally strolled in at mid-morning on a cloudy Friday, and it was still quite busy. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, and both the potatoes and side salad were very good. We enjoyed the open kitchen, the high ceilings, the breeze and the comfort! We didn't have reservations and it was Mother's Day weekend so we expected to wait and I'm glad we did. Four of us popped in with a reservation for a high top on the patio 5/25/26. Sam Fox restaurants aren't always my go-to, but this location is an 'outlier'. Drink selection plentiful, wonderful ice-cold beer, Prime skirt steak on the salad prepared perfectly, Hot Crispy Chicken Sandwich on point and two Wagyu Burgers that could not have been better - with a toasted bun, always appreciate that extra step. So often places inquire as to the cook temp on beef and miss the mark, not here. Both burgers had different temp requests, and the kitchen nailed it. Better late than never- this review is solely for the pre-fixe menu offered at the Henry on Valentine's Day 2026. The Henry has been a staple in Coronado for a while and this is the first time we've tried it. It didn't disappoint! The vibes were high on Valentine's Day & although we had to wait a little longer than expected with reservations, it didn't kill the mood. All staff members were smiling and were nice. Our waiter was equally as nice & helpful with our menu questions. The Henry offered a 3 course pre-fix menu priced at $85 a person which is a great deal since other restaurants were offering the same for $100+ a person. Their menu offered a lot of the faves from their regular menu per our waiter. Even if it was a pre-fixe menu, there were a lot choices! Felt like their entire menu was on there, which was appreciated. It was lively out in the patio, but not annoyingly so. Wasn't as "romantic" as I expected, maybe cause there were a couple of TVs to the side of us. First dishes we tried were: Smoked Salmon & Caviar 5/5 Perfect app to start with, very shareable. Also had the Short Rib Potstickers and those were perfect as well! The sauce was the difference. Main dishes we tried were the Braised Short Rib & the Chateau Filet "Oscar Style" [Additional $20]. The Braised short Rib's sauce (kind of like the pot stickers) were really good. That's what set this Short Rib apart from the other ones I've tried. I didn't get tired of it while the mushrooms were such a happy surprise (cause I didnt read the menu) lol The Filet was good in it's own right. Kinda weird how they cut it though. The cuts were not proportioned at all. Not sure if that was a technique, but it just looked weird. Cooked medium-ish. The center was a little undercooked, but everything else was fine. For dessert, we chose the lemon olive oil cake - ah this one was soooo stinking good, I finished it all! That's surprising because the dessert was a full on dish. Thought we'd only get a portion since it was a 3 course meal, but nope, it was a full dessert. My lady had the Chocolate Fudge Pie which again was really good in it's own right, but my dessert was better :) The Henry is a great restaurant. Will come back to try their brunch! It's a classy restaurant in a beautiful town, the customer service was good, and the food was amazing. 4.5 Stars!!! The Henry is located on Coronado Island and can be reached either by taking the Coronado Bridge or driving down the Silver Strand making sure that you're on the main drag Orange Avenue. The restaurant is between C Avenue and 10th Street, it is just south of Clayton's Coffee Shop, on the same side as Bay Books and Moo Time ice cream, next to Francaise, and it's across the street from Geppetto's. Parking is mainly street parking, so you might have to park far especially on the weekend. Highly suggest you make reservations because The Henry is a popular restaurant. There is plenty of seating at the restaurant and it can easily accommodate large groups. You can either sit inside or sit outside and people watch. The outdoor round tables are made of marble, there's outdoor umbrella seating, there is high top tables, bar seating, indoor booth seating, and indoor wooden high top tables with leather seats. The decor is modern and old school at the same time with a beautiful painted mural, a wall of framed pics, black and white pics, decorative light fixtures, and an open kitchen that you can peep through a glass partition. The staff is friendly and our server provided good service, but I wished he checked on us more often. Our reservation was at 11:30am, so we were eating during the brunch and lunch hour. The menu included brunch choices, appetizers, salads, and entrees. Since this dining excursion was a Christmas gift for my parents, we wanted to make this special for them. For our appetizers, we ordered the Spicy Tuna & Crispy Rice and the Pretzels & Provolone Fondue. The spicy tuna & crispy rice comes with fresno chile, avocado, cilantro, scallion, and sweet soy. That was really fresh and tasty, but know that it only comes with 5 pieces, so order double for a party of six or more. The pretzels & provolone fondue come with large round balls of pretzels that you dip in the cheesy fondue. I really enjoyed that appetizer because of the hearty round pretzels and when dipped, they were really yummy. The star of my meal was my entree, which was the Wagyu Cheeseburger. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickle, charred onion, white cheddar, american cheese, henry sauce, and fries. The bread is a toasted bun and when I took my very first bite, I knew I was going to enjoy it. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium and with that first bite, I can tell that The Henry serves quality food, which was evident by that burger and the two appetizers we consumed. The fries were delectable as well and when dipped in the provided house made ranch, my entire entree was delicious. It truly was a blessing to spend quality time with my family. They have the best omelette with loads of turkey, cheese and egg white with guacamole on top. I also got the pushing daisies as iced and hot Togo. I must say both are delicious but you might want to ask for extra orange blossom if you want that flavor. The matcha is ceremonial grade organic and they don't over sweeten but it's creamy and delicious! The breakfast dishes come with potatoes but the fruit is the best it came with apples, strawberries, blueberries, pineapples and all was fresh. This is a must when staying in Coronado! We stayed at Hotel Del and it was the perfect walk, you can come for Breakfast, lunch and Dinner and you will never be disappointed they have amazing selection and gluten free options as well as vegetarian. read more

The four of us booked a dinner reservation Saturday night after the nascar race. We arrived and we're lead to our table on the patio and it was an amazing place. We placed our drink orders and appetizer order and everything was going great except my water glass was now empty. I asked and they promptly filled it. While it was being filling I asked if I could have a second glass of water as backup. They said yes but it never arrived and my refill was now empty. I got our waiters attention and asked again about getting two and he said sure no apology that it wasn't already there. It took forever to arrive and so I'm quite upset. It arrives finally and our food is there and we get this tiny portion of ketchup with the fries. One of us asked for more it arrived fairly quickly delivered by what looked like a manager and I asked him if I could some have ranch dressing for my salad and he said sure! It never arrive and I left my salad uneaten and left felling we didn't get the service we deserved. For the price and what we got I will never be going back. You didn't deliver at all. Each piece was decadent Wagyu Cheeseburger - smoky and delicious from the grill with the perfect sauce and cheese . Fries were skinny and perfectly cooked and salted. I've been here so many times already. This place is a really solid brunch/lunch spot. Parking is not the best since you have to find street parking in Coronado and it may be quite a walk. They accept reservations so that's convenient. Everything here has been good except the parfait. Don't get the parfait, it had a weird taste to it when we got it. The Brussels sprouts were my fav. It's a nice spot for coffee or brunch, it can get a little loud inside though. The workers are very friendly! read more

Henry oh Henry, where were you all of my life? It took my coworker and I, a nursing conference at the Hotel del Coronado, in order to stumble upon you. After a few recommendations and a personal walk, to which we got to experience the massive lines that overflowed onto the sidewalk, it was worth the wait! For an appetizer, we ordered the spicy tuna and crispy rice. The balance of sweet and spicy, soft and crunchy, was excellent. The hint of the delicate, slightly sweet scallions was the cherry on top. For dinner, we shared the Korean prime skirt steak. It was perfectly seared. The fried rice with snap peas, bok choy, and pickled shiitake really balanced the richness of the steak. It was a well-executed dish. We also got the scallops and gnocchi with asparagus. The scallops were well cooked without being rubbery. The gnocchi were pan fried to perfection. The white sauce base was countered with the zesty vibrance of lemons. It was so delicious, I mopped up every single drop of it. Overall, they have gone a step beyond what I consider standard American flare. The addition of Asian elements was incorporated well into the dishes we received. The servers checked in on us a fair amount, especially for how busy they were with the other patrons. Ambience was pleasant, slightly too dark, and a little on the noisy side. This place gives total Roaring Twenties vibes... like something straight out of a Fitzgerald book. You can almost picture old Coronado in its heyday. The breakfast and coffee are excellent, and the food overall was really good. Sit inside to enjoy the vintage charm or grab a seat at the bar and catch a Padres game!
