Egg White Frittata - without the tomatoes. Decent, a little small

Happy August! Shorbird at Seaport Village They do walk-ins and take reservations. Have tables for small groups or up to 6 at 1 table. We came here for a team lunch and they got our whole group of 15 on 3 different tables. We pre-reserved and thankfully heard back quickly from their leadership to get it reserved. We were in the back area (inside) but right by the water and it was a nice view. We had a screaming toddler in the same area so that was a little intense to hear the echos as we were trying to enjoy our time. Not the restaurants fault but definitely started off the experience a little stressful. The food was really good. Expensive though but for the most part, it was worth it. The service was good as well, our server Zeus was quick and met our needs to get out within an hour so we could get to our next destination. The appetizers were incredible! Our table shared the avocado tempura fries, rock shrimp and deviled eggs. All were incredible! I got the egg white frittata, it was pretty good but a little on the basic side even with the cheese added We shared the hot cakes and they were a little underwhelming. A few guys on our table for the wagyu burger and enjoyed them. And another got the crab egg Benedict. Spending $1000 for our group of 15 (including the 20% service charge was a bit more than we expected but the location, service and food was worth it) In terms of parking, our bus was parked in the main parking area and we walked a short distance. There's no free parking.

We started with the tuna tataki, and it was absolutely amazing. The tuna was incredibly fresh, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. For our entrées, we had the ribeye and the sea bass with risotto. The ribeye was cooked to perfection! It was tender, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The whipped potatoes were perfectly fluffy and seasoned as well. The sea bass was to die for, and the creamy risotto paired with it beautifully. Every bite was delicious. The food, stunning views, and relaxing ambiance made for such a great dining experience. The service was just as enjoyable. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and checked on us throughout the meal without ever being overbearing. If you're looking for delicious food, beautiful waterfront views, and great service, this is definitely a spot worth visiting. It was a bit muggy inside though.

Amazing view and beautiful atmosphere. The breakfast burrito was average, nothing to write home about. Had all the usual, eggs, bacon, potatoes, sour cream, guacamole. Eggs were a bit dry, bacon was a little hard, and overall the burrito was not that moist. The frittata was overall delicious. The food was kinda average, but the view boosted the place to a 4/5

Shorebird is all about the location! Every table offers an amazing waterfront view. I ordered the chicken and waffles with a mimosa. The chicken was juicy, moist, and perfectly cooked, and the waffles were a great match. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. It's an excellent place for brunch, but I can also see myself coming back for a special dinner.

Definitely go here for the views! Great over water seating with views of the bay and Coronado bridge. It's also more towards the end of Seaport village where it's a little quieter. There's also a nice outdoor seating area at the front, indoor and upstairs area. I would say the menu is mediocre considering all the other great seafood restaurants in SD. I was also a little surprised at the prices but I understand that everything costs more these days and you're smack in the middle of a tourist attraction. Service was fine and our food came out really quickly. The crab cakes and fish and chips were pretty good and they also gave some house-made sorbet for a complimentary birthday dessert.

Side of mashed potatoes. We ordered this with dinner and they randomly brought it out first by itself like an appetizer. Odd. Not good.

Spend 4th of July at the upstairs bar at Shorebirds. My friend was very excited to go here as we were planning to watch the Big Bay Boom fireworks from Seaport Village. Restaurant layout and tables are wonderful! Servers at the upstairs bar, helpful with menu items and very knowledgeable. My friend ordered the Seabass, and was very disappointed in the bland flavor. I ordered a side of mashed potatoes, which they did not bring out with the main food, but brought it first like an appetizer - very odd. I asked them to please bring it back with the food and they refused. So I would say wait staff, service was bad. Would I go back? No

What a great location with views looking out into the water with no obstruction! The food and service were actually decent. Can't complain. We waited 40 mins to be seated. Don't make the mistake that I made and make your reservation!

Nice spot at the Marina in the water. Pricey but not too bad. The menu is pretty good too. You overlook the water and the service is good. Seafood, salads, appetizers and alcohol. We enjoyed a wine and an appetizer as we moved through the area. We enjoyed our visit and the casual atmosphere here.

Service/Staff - 5 Stars I don't remember what our server's name was unfortunately, but he was really amazing. He was very attentive, friendly, offered to take our photos for us. Food - 5 Stars We started with the Tempura Rock Shrimp, which was really good! The Yuzu honey aioli dipping sauce was amazing. Loved this dish! My wife had the Chilean Seabass (which - side note - I always think is funny because FYI Chilean Seabass is not actually seabass. Look it up! It's actually a Patagonian toothfish!). Anyhow, it was amazing! I stole a few bites. I didn't get a photo of it, but it was a good portion and the fish was cooked perfectly. The risotto paired so well with the fish and had a ton of flavor. Highly recommend this dish! I had the Swordfish Sandwich. Everything about this sandwich was really really good. The fish was exactly how I expected it to be, meaty! Loved the brioche bun and the sauce. However, I would have preferred more sauce. If I were to order this again, I would see if they could give me some extra sauce. The sandwich came with French fries. I wasn't a big fan of the seasoning. The French fries tasted like bbq chips, and I don't like bbq chips lol. I somehow didn't notice that on the menu it actually says "BBQ spiced", and had I saw that I would have just asked for the fries without the seasoning. But, they were still cooked well and so if you like bbq flavor chips then you will love these fries. For dessert we got the chocolate brownie. It was AMAZING. The brownie was soft, moist, and very rich in flavor. I would totally get this again - and next time I would ask for extra ice cream. Especially if you're planning on sharing this with someone, an extra scoop of ice cream would be good. View - 5 Stars Epic view truly. Obviously a big reason why many people including ourselves come here. We wanted the view for our date night, and it really did not disappoint. We had dinner around 7pm so we got to see the sunset which made it even more romantic. TIPS: There was a pretty big parking lot, but we still took an uber here instead. It was our first time and didn't know what to expect. Also, Seaport Village closes up at 9pm, so if you're planning on walking around the village after your dinner, make sure you plan your dinner time accordingly. Definitely make reservations ahead of time. When we arrived, they were turning people away that didn't have reservations. Fortunately for us, we did! :) If you plan on going later in the evening and sit on the balcony, it's semi-indoors. Basically it's outdoors, but covered, and it got pretty cold for me. So plan to bring a jacket or a sweater.

We had a midday reservation for 15, 11 adults and 4 kids, were seated at three tables. Love this simplistic on the water, view of the water, and dine on the water restaurant. Served 3 appetizers, TEMPURA ROCK SHRIMP, HOKKAIDO SCALLOPS, and CRAB CAKES. All three delicious, and I adored the latter two. My husband and I shared a LOADED WEDGE SALAD and the FISH N CHIPS, while our kids enjoyed CHICKEN STRIPS WITH A SIDE OF FRIES and GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH WITH A SIDE OF FRUIT. Seems half of the adults ordered the Fish N Chips, some of our party also enjoyed BUFFALO ONION RINGS, JAY BIRD'S™ CHICKEN SANDWICH, and JAY BIRD'S™ CHICKEN & WAFFLES. We ended our lunch with desserts: VALRHONA CHOCOLATE BROWNIE and, now one of my favorites, PINEAPPLE CARROT CAKE. I would love to return again when revisiting San Diego. Reminder to self, request parking validation, if needed.

Came for here brunch on a random Monday with some friends right before we left for the airport. Hostess was super friendly and sat us up stairs where the views were beautiful and the breeze was refreshing. The food was out quickly and everything was delicious. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was tender, packed with flavor and appropriately spicy which was well complemented by sweet, soft waffles. Highly recommend coming here for brunch!

Decent food with an incredible view, right along the water in Seaport. After walking by this place so many times I was excited to check it out for dinner! The place is soo cute, pretty small on the inside, just a cute house over the water. The food was delicious, if a bit expensive for the portion size. I got the salmon which just melted in my mouth. The drinks however left a bit to be desired - my Paloma was very watery and not flavorful. For $18 i'd hope for a lot more in a cocktail. The service was good. Overall recommend for a nicer dinner with a beautiful view!

I like this place, it was chill and exactly what I was looking for. Some seafood and a glass of wine with a view. I went up to the bar and sat at the high top. Greg and Craig were there and those guys are great! Friendly and attentive, gave great suggestions. The oysters were delicious! I need more, unfortunately the fish wasn't as flavorful but it was good. 10/10

He mentioned they'd course the dishes out, 2 at a time, ensuring each of the dishes were paired intentionally. Beet Salad From someone who's not easily impressed with vegetable-led dishes, this was delicious. This dish was visually vibrant, and the flavor mirrored that vibrancy. The beets themselves were stunningly soft, even juicy I'd say. It's root-y flavor was ever-present, but it never became unwelcome on the dish. "Fragrant" is another word we all used to describe the plate, with the fresh mint and succulent citrus fruit widening each our eyes. Sweet, savory, fresh and...creamy. This salad sat on top of a delightful carrot labneh, which provided a creamy element further elevating the dish. It brought a bit of tang to the salad that I appreciated. Finally, there was a crunchy detail (which we know I love) from intelligently included pieces of pastelli--a Greek treat made from sesame seeds and honey, and that sweet crunch fostered the table's excitement. Trust was firing on cylinders early, strong start. Hamachi Crudo Insane. I'm a big fan of the amount of flavor that's packed in such a delicate dish. Off rip, you're met with a visually exciting dish. Red, green, and purple from the thinly sliced pepper, cucumber, and radish pop right off the dish. Bright colors and exquisite execution, placed in a circle to match the shape of the dish, had each of us salivating. With the first taste, the crisp bite of fresh cucumber catches your senses immediately, and then subtly spicy, cream sauce. It was aguachile blanco--my first time having the blanco variant. The flavor was stupid, I struggled to describe it's uniqueness. The Mexican flavor profile was proliferated by fresh cilantro and thinly sliced radish, followed with a textured salsa seca. The light nature of the dish paired pristinely with the beet salad. Now, these next two dishes were an exciting 1-2 punch in showing you exactly what Chef is all about--that signature wood fire Wood Grilled Cauliflower I always eat my vegetables, but I rarely enjoy them. They're two for two in accomplishing that feat. In a bowl lined with curry, they served up a healthy helping of cauliflower that showcases its smokiness first. With that first bite, you taste the fire quickly, but what surprised me most was how soft each piece of the veg was. The curry and smoky flavor from the wood fire paired deliciously. Though, my favorite aspect of this delivery was the inclusion of raisins and fresh mint. This was a new combo for me, and it delivered. The sourness from the raisins and the cool, herbaceous qualities of the mint cut right through the charred flavor. A beautiful contrast. As we continued to dismantle the plate, there was a familiar flavor that we all recognized but couldn't identify. Maybe it was the serrano aioli or the black lentils. Either way, we all enjoyed this one. Wood Grilled Octopus This was a favorite of mine, but I was alone in that regard. While nobody disliked the dish, the table had mixed reviews. For me, this was perfectly cooked. The texture of the octopus was ridiculous with a cooking technique that created a crispy exterior while maintaining a tender bite. The smokiness didn't shy away here either. I mean damn. Most weren't a fan of the pepperoni, but fresh, ground meat added a rustic flavor pop that satiated my palate. It held that beloved pepperoni flavor, but this style allowed for it's flavor to spread across each bite. What made this dish unique from any other octopus I've had was the addition of castelvetrano olives and legumes. They both brought an interesting flavor and texture element that surprised me. Lastly, the salsa verde served as a perfect sauce, providing an element of moisture that complimented the charred features. Well done. After round two is when shit got real. Crab Fried Rice OH SHIT. WTF. One of the best rice dishes I've ever had. This is one we all wished was much much bigger. Despite the name, this dish includes chunks of incredibly juicy, wood-roasted lobster that there was never going to be enough of. The crab was shredded and could be found in each bite of plump rice, providing a pleasing flavor. Both a lemongrass emulsion and Thai chili were included, offering a wonderful duality of zest and spice. I thoroughly enjoyed the basil and cashew elements as they created some extra variety in flavor and texture. Not much else is needed for me to say, it's a must order. Char Sui Glazed Brisket OH SHIT. I appreciate the interior. It's rustic, but also very upscale. It's a big open space and it's not super quiet inside, but not too loud that you can't hear people at your table, and you can't hear other tables conversations. She also made a great recommendation on the Pinot Noir wine. It met the flavor profiles I enjoy with wine. She came back and checked on us, but not too often. The other staff were great too! I do have to note that at one point in the night, there was a lady dressed in a suit (I'm guessing a manager) that was following the waitresses every move. I'm not sure if maybe she is in training or there was some sort of review process happening but I found it awkward. I got "micromanager" vibes. Overall a great experience! It's fine dining and pricey, but is good for special occasions. I would recommend dressing at least semi-nice, but it's not a requirement.

Most everywhere we went was dog friendly and some of the shops had bowls of water outside for them. We decided to have a late lunch and landed at the Malibu Farm, which was a fabulous choice!! Not only are they dog friendly but they have a fabulous dog menu with several choices of meals for them. They also offer water as soon as we were seated. We chose the chicken & broccoli bowl that also contains rice and shared it between the two pups...not a drop left! I decided on the Malibu Beef Burger which was cooked to perfection and was such a great burger with a tad of mess (which is what makes a burger the best!) They don't offer french fries but roasted potatoes or mashed potatoes so I chose the roasted ones. They were so good and there was also a lightly dressed arugula salad, which was a perfect side! Wife got the Stop Light Trio tacos which comes with three tacos (the green-chicken, raw brussels, cilantro crema, the yellow-butternut and spaghetti squash with a mango habanero salsa, and the red-hanger steak, pickled cabbage, onion, and salsa roja). She loved the yellow one best followed by the red one but I'm all for the green one...it was delicious!). And we had to splurge with a piece of their grilled chocolate cake...yup grilled! We were told that the cake was torched around the sides and it creates a nice toasty edge. So decadent and thick and rich and lots of chocolate! Overall an excellent meal along with some great service! We had a server change during our meal but we were wowed by the service from everyone. Taylor was the server who ended our service. Thank you for a wonderful meal!!!

Definitely on the pricier end for certain dishes but many of them are well worth it! - sourdough bread: good but also why are we spending $16 here. can't say it's worth - ahi tartare: no notes, everything hit, would come back for this alone - steamed clam and mussels: these were some meaty af mussels. delicious! the clams were tiny & pathetic tho and can't say I loved having the chorizo in there - charred broccolini: honestly don't remember this well but i had no complaints - grilled oysters: another fav of mine!!! a must get - hearth roasted carrots: the yogurt & pesto were on the side (due to dairy restrictions) but the pesto was SO. GOOD. paired beautifully with the carrots!!!!! I'm dying to know how to make this at home myself - branzino: good but would skip. I do typically like fish entrees but this wasn't overly impressive. could've used more sauce - NY strip: our favorite entree!!!! paired SO with the bone marrow - duck: super tender and fell right off the bone!!! our second fav entree - almond joy: incredible dessert, every bite I felt like I was getting a little something new. vanilla ice cream in the middle. LOVEEED this as our ending to dinner

Came for happy hour (wed-sun 4-6) in the bar ONLY.The bar is located in a separate room than the…read moredining area. Happy hour seating is walk ins only, no reservations. There is a "happy hour" on Monday but it's called Ouster Monday, oysters are $1 and they have different specials that are not offered on the normal happy hour. Got the crispy chicken wings, Wagyu longaniza, and burger The chicken wings were very crispy and came topped with a jalapeño relish. The relish had a citrusy taste to it or maybe it was the liquid from the pickled jalapeños. I liked the crispness of the chicken but I think the relish was too acidic for me. The Wagyu longaniza was my favorite, very strong beefy flavor. It came on top of salsa matcha which i thought was very tasty so much that I dipped the wings and burger in the sauce. The slice of radish on top gave it a nice texture and crunch. I see the Wagyu hotdog is offered on the oyster Monday special so I'm gonna have to come back and try that for sure. The burger was cooked nicely, medium as requested. It came topped with an egg, truffled onion jam, and cheddar cheese. The bun was nicely toasted and the egg and cheese added a nice rich element to it but I didn't care for the onion jam, it gave the burger an overall sweet profile. I'd simply ask for it without next time. Over all a solid burger, maybe I'd add bacon too. I also had a margarita which was on happy hour special. I asked for it to be spicy and they added a tajin rim which was nice. Spicy and refreshing! Parking is all on the street so I had to part a few blocks away. Overall a solid happy hour. I'll be back on Oyster Monday for the hot dog and fish collars.
