My friend and I loved being able to sit out on the patio to enjoy our food and champagne on such a beautiful day. The server was awesome and even brought my pup a bowl of water. We got champagne and did their Honeydew Lemongrass Limeade as the mixer, which I highly recommend! My friend got the Egg White Scramble and I ended up getting the Fried Rice. I was pretty disappointed in the basically non-existent bok choy in my dish since they chop it up and add it to the rice. It's a waste of bok choy honestly and the dish would be better with full bok choy pieces between the rice and egg. They couldn't even provide me with a side of bok choy because they pre-chop everything. As our dessert, we ended up splitting the Ultimate Sticky Bun. It is unfair how delicious this was! I've had this place bookmarked for a hot minute and was finally able to check it out this past weekend. Pros: - Sunday at 11AM, we were seated right away in the patio area (PET FRIENDLY = huge plus in my book). That is HUGE considering brunch in the area always get packed fast. - Server was pretty attentive. The hostess was so adorable; her smile was very infectious. - I'm not sure if it was because I was hungry, but the pancake was DIVINE. The amount of food definitely was a lot for the price. Cons: - Parking can be tricky but this area is known for that. - Steak in my steak and eggs are on the chewier side. We both ordered medium rare and mine came less pink than my friend's. The carrots had really nice char and the salt level was perfect. The chili oil, pistachio, and pickled all worked so well together. Super balanced and one of my favorite bites of the night! The brisket raviolini broth had great depth and almost leaned seafood-forward, and the filling was soft and tender. The agnolotti was excellent. The sauce was velvety and creamy, and while the truffle flavor was definitely there, it wasn't overpowering. The pasta itself had great texture and a flavorful filling. The crab fried rice was probably the most disappointing. Very small and overpriced. Nothing special for me flavor wise. I don't really remember crab in the dish haha. Sauce/meat was flavorful and super tender. I liked the earthiness from the vegetables, and the coconut curry itself was well made, but for me the flavor combinations didn't fully come together? The gnocchi was soft, pillowy, and almost melting. The morels and sauce was great. I wasn't sold on the crispy fried bits on top since they threw off the balance a bit, and the garlic was pretty aggressive, maybe a little too much. The crudo was fresh and light, with nice crunchy garlic and crisp vegetables. The sauce paired really well with everything. Dessert was mixed. One amazing restaurant with superb and very attentive service and great food in a café like urban setting. We ordered a variety of dishes and each was presented well, and flavorful. Came here for Mother's Day brunch and had a nice experience. They have indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. We were seated inside with a view of the kitchen. Service: Our server was friendly and attentive. Food: we ordered the stuffed French toast, baked eggs and simple breakfast. The French toast was not actually stuffed, as I expected, but topped with apples and toppings. It was a think piece of brioche bread and the dish was tasty and not too sweet. I was disappointed in the baked eggs, as I really didn't get much egg out of it. I shared it with my husband and while it did have a lot of flavors, it was overwhelmingly chickpeas and tomato sauce for me. The sourdough bread was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. We ordered the simple breakfast with bacon for our son because they don't have a kids menu and it was perfect for him. I do with we ordered the ultimate sticky bun, which is their speciality, but will have to try that another time. Parking is a real challenge as there is only street parking. We ordered a few things to share: Chilaquiles Rojos: includes eggs, crema, cotija, pinto beans, guacamole, pickled onions, and cilantro - a very flavorful, classic Mexican breakfast plate. I have been wanting to come to Trust for so long and when my friends had suggested we had our brunch date I said yes. We came on Easter Sunday and was a lucky that I live close enough and had my husband drop me and friends off. To start we got their season sticky bun which was their carrot cake and we each ordered a cocktail, we got an order of espresso martinis which were little but mighty, they were so smooth and flavorful too. For my meal, I got the fried pork cutlet, whenever I see a porkchop I always order it. First, the carrot cake sticky bun, is INSANE that was the most delicious sticky bun I have ever eaten and just looking at the photos on my phone I am absolutely craving it. Sharing it between three girls is ideal but I would have definitely ordered my own. My porkchop was perfect, it comes with a sunny side eggs and potatoes. The porkchop was so incredibly tender and flavorful and that gravy is just perfect. I want that for my dinner tonight, I also tried my friends Albacore tartare which was pretty flavorful and was just refreshing for how warm it was. I visited San Diego for the weekend & so many creators on TikTok recommended this spot for brunch. My friend & I showed up mid-morning on Sunday, & thankfully didn't have to wait for a table. I ordered the honeydew lemonade limeade and the fried chicken and pancakes for my entree. I only took a few sips of the limeade. It was made with sparkling water, which the menu didn't mention. I'm not a fan of sparkling water, so it was a no-go for me, though it didn't taste bad. Sparkling water makes me feel like I'm eating pop rocks lol. Anyways, lemongrass can be such an overpowering flavor, but it was balanced with the other flavors in this drink. It was just more reminiscent of pop than lemonade. Before you think "pop???" Listen. I'm from the Midwest. We don't say "soda" this way, lol. The chicken and waffles were good. The pancakes tasted like vanilla & I loved the crispy edges. The main thing I look for in pancakes are crispy edges. They were incredibly filling, so I could only finish one. You will probably leave with leftovers if you order this. The chicken was well seasoned & the chili crisp on top wasn't too spicy. It gave the chicken additional flavor without all the heat. I enjoyed that the chicken was served in bite-size pieces. Upon arrival, noticed they have quite the modern design. Love that there's a large outdoor area with sizeable indoor seating as well. Very spacious overall and clean. We decided on three dishes to share, Chilaquiles Rojos, Egg White Scramble, and the Ultimate Sticky Bun. The Chilaquiles Rojos is filled with Tortilla chips mixed with cotija, guac, cilantros, and two eggs. Portions are huge for this dish, very much a shareable dish. Chips were a good touchup to the sauce, a bit spicy but very enjoyable overall. It's also one of their popular items and I would certainly get this again. The Egg White Scramble is a bit interesting to me. It's very much a seasoned vegetables type dish. Very unique I'd say but it was quite delicious. A savory touch to the dish and complimented the other two dishes well. I didn't enjoy the Brussel sprouts in the dish as to me, it didn't apply much flavor or difference to the dish. Other than that, a decent dish. I was massively impressed with the Ultimate Sticky Bun, a HUGEEE fun dessert to share. From what the staff said, it's limited per day, and is different layout/toppings daily. I can see why it's their most popular item as the flavors are just fabulous. Luckily, the day we dined in, we got a custard type sticky bun, layered with vanilla ice cream, peanut crumbs, and orange slices. It was the perfect dish to conclude the meal, it was something that we've never tasted and we're very glad that we had ordered this dish. I was visiting San Diego with my sister and niece and we tried to get a table at a different restaurant nearby but they said they didn't have any tables available and that we would have to wait several hours. My sister checked OpenTable and saw that they had tables available earlier than we had been told and thought we might've been turned away because they didn't want a kid in their restaurant. We walked down the street to Trust and I'm so glad we did! They didn't have any tables inside but there were plenty of tables outside with heat lamps. Our server (I wish I remembered his name) was so great with my niece which completely turned around our night. He was such a genuinely nice person and whenever I think about great service, I think of this dinner we had. I would recommend most everything we ordered except for the coal roasted carrots. The carrots were a bit too crunchy for my taste but the other dishes we ordered (Braised Oxtail Raviolini, Mushroom Malfalde, and Little Gems) were hearty and flavorful. The kids menu macaroni and cheese was next level and so buttery and comforting. My niece wasn't super hungry that night so I happily ate her leftovers. I ordered the chilaquiles while my partner went with the "simple breakfast." The chilaquiles sauce leaned way too tangy for my liking; I barely made it through half and didn't bother taking leftovers. My partner's potatoes also missed the mark. Potatoes were definitely not fresh, definitely not crispy (despite the request). Maybe "simple (breakfast)" was a little too on the nose... We were also seated at an outdoor corner table by the steps, which... was unfortunate. A lot of dogs pass through this walkway, and the area smelled strongly of dog pee. Not the restaurant's fault, but it's hard to enjoy breakfast with dog pee scent wafting in the air... Parking in this area is already limited and overpriced, so pairing that with a breakfast we didn't enjoy--and could've gotten elsewhere for cheaper and far better--just didn't help the experience. Overall, we left as two very un-happy campers, lol. It's safe to say we won't be returning for breakfast. Maybe lunch or dinner is another story, but not sure when/if we'll be back. Shrimp and sausage with gorbanzos was perfect but order some extra bread to soak up that sauce. Chicken liver toast was great and very unique. Not an overwhelming liver flavor. Really perfect. Oxtail raviolini was superb. Could have eaten all of them myself. Ribeye was cooked perfectly and had great flavor and super tender. We had a really great experience once we actually got to the restaurant, but it did start off a bit rocky. I tried calling ahead to see if there was a wait and if so, how long was the wait. I was put on hold for over 7 minutes without anyone picking up. I eventually had to hang up and call back to get through. That was a little frustrating. It was also hot....VERY hot inside. Not sure if the AC was broken or if the place is always that hot inside. That said, everything after that was fantastic. The staff was friendly and welcoming once we arrived, and the food absolutely made up for the rough start. The brunch menu had a great mix of classics and creative options. We got the chilaquiles and the hamburger. Both were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We got a bottle of champagne which came with a side of fresh squeezed orange juice and some sort of lavender juice. Yum!!! We sat at the bar and Bianca assisted us. Came here on a Saturday morning around 11AM and was seated immediately. My boyfriend and I ordered the Albacore Tartare ($23) and Smoked Pork Shoulder Hash ($22). The Albacore Tartare was delicious! The freshness of the fish, the generous amount of avocado, and the perfect seasoning left me wanting more. I loved that they provided taro root chips, which made the whole dish unique and complemented the tartare well. I honestly recommend getting this, as it's different from any tartare you'll ever have. As for the Smoked Pork Shoulder Hash, I thought they added their own twist to it. Every bite was flavorful. The ratio of ingredients was perfect, as it didn't feel heavy despite the beans, mayo, and potatoes. The generous portion of pork was a huge plus, especially since it stayed hot from the pan. My college housemates came down to SD to visit and we went to Trust because I had heard great things about the food! We were greeted in the kindest way and it already set the tone for a great dinner experience. The interior is beautiful, and the patio also has heaters and fairy lights everywhere. The oxtail raviolini (9/10) was my favorite dish, and it was the first dish we tried. It made me instinctively close my eyes so I could savor the delicious, rich flavor! Strangely, it reminded me of Korean food because of how robust and savory the flavors were (like Korean stews) and the oxtail was so tender. The char siu brisket (8.5/10) was the second dish and it was beautifully topped with a curry sauce. It was a thai inspired dish with a strong but not overpowering coconut milk flavor. The brisket was cooked perfectly, crisp but very tender. The shrimp and sausage (7/10) was heavy but had a very rich jambalaya inspired flavor. It came with a toasted slice of sourdough that we dipped in the sauce. I will say, the meal became quite heavy when we tried this dish as it was quite salty. The last dish, the cesarecce pasta (6.5/10) was delicious but not special. It was a pasta that reminded me of an elevated mac and cheese with crispy bread crumbs. Overall, we had an amazing dining experience at Trust and found ourselves thinking about the food the day after as well. Enjoyed dinner here last night with some great friends to celebrate a special occasion. Service was fabulous. We had 2-3 servers say hello and check in with us. Our waiter gave us his suggestions and asked what we were celebrating. Towards the end of the night he provided an extra scoop of chocolate ice cream to try in addition to the dessert we ordered to share which was kind of him. We tried several dishes included the crab fried rice, the hamachi dish, the cucumber salad, and the steak and pasta. Unfortunately they were out of their famous oxtail pasta so we weren't able to enjoy that one but all dishes were flavorful and savory. If you are truly a foodie and want to widen your palette selection, stop on by. I like the concept of small shareable dishes too so that was a plus! Quite lovely experience here. Came here for a brunch date and had made a reservation ahead of time online. They had sent out a questionnaire asking if we had any requests and I had mentioned that I needed to follow a low-fat diet and avoid oils and such. The server actually mentioned to me that he had the note and made sure to let the kitchen know when we placed our order as well. Husband and I got the baked eggs and the egg white scramble. The baked eggs were absolutely lovely. It was like a little shakshuka of your own That came in a hot mini skillet with some toasted bread on top. The server offered that he would ask for no butter on the toast because I had said to avoid oils. This was really unexpected and thoughtful. Shakshuka itself was very flavorful and spicy. The good kind of spicy where it was a creamy tomato sauce with a little bit of heat and loaded with chickpeas. I think there was just one egg on there but no complaints because it was nice overall. Egg white scramble was also yum. I asked them to put less oil and also to give the pesto on the side so that I can avoid adding extra calories. Did not end up adding the pesto but the dish itself was good on its own. The tzatziki sauce on the top went perfectly well with the goat cheese and the eggs. Really good amount of brussel sprouts inside and the greens as well. I think the only thing missing was some toast. It would have been nice to have a slice of toast along with the eggs because it was quite an expensive dish and the portion says felt quite small for that price point. Also got a side order of pancakes to share. It came with some whipped butter on top and a side of maple syrup. The pancakes were so fluffy and big and perfectly soft and so delicious on their own that I did not even need that syrup. Just a little bit of that butter and it was the perfect sweet buttery pancake! Overall really nice experience and nice Vibe with good food and service. read more

Came here for brunch and everything was absolutely delicious!! The Sticky Bun of the week was Captain Crunch (which isn't my favorite) but it was a soft but not soggy texture that soaked up the glaze and ice cream. The steak was cooked perfectly in the Steak N' Eggs. But my favorite dish had to be the Pork Hash. It was so flavorful and the mix of textures was everything. The service was also great. My only complaint is it felt like an echo chamber in the restaurant and was hard to hear my friends talking. read more

After spending half the day visiting Balboa Park, I discovered this eatery on my yelp app. I parked on the street complimentary and arrived just before the end of the brunch at 2:00 pm I was hungry and thirsty so I started off with a bloody mary. For my brunch I chose the fried chicken and pancakes. The chicken was boneless and freshly cooked and the pancakes were fluffy and tasted yummy. The decor is modern, and the entire staff was friendly and accommodating. My only con here was that they ran out of their popular sticky buns, so I'll need to return here in the future. read more
