    Breakfast Carbonara
    Amy D.

This restaurant is like nothing I've ever seen before!!! Everything is so unique and crazy in the coolest way. Our server was, for lack of better word, SUPER chill amongst the bustling atmosphere which calmed us a bit. We all got super different menu items so I'll go through them: * Fried Chicken and Waffle: I wish the chicken was more savory to balance out the syrup but overall it was pretty good definitely leaning towards a sweet dish * Morning Glory Ginger Fried Rice: looked very good but my friend said he had to ask for and add more soy sauce * Quesabirria: super juicy and delicious!!! * Breakfast Carbonara: one of the waiters said it was his favorite and it was EXTREMELY CREAMY!!!! * I forgot what the drink we got was but it was one of the first ones on the circle menu with lychee in it and it was so good!!! Could not taste the alcohol at all!!! Overall all the dishes were so unique in their own ways I would definitely come back again when I have a free day in San Diego as there were a lot of other menu items that caught my eye!

Came here on a Saturday late morning and quoted 1 hour and 15 min wait after waiting 15 in the line to put my name down with the hostess. You have 10 min to return after you receive the check-in text. There is a farmers market on the block and nearby so we decided to nibble and come back for the soufflé pancake instead of a full brunch since we were already hungry. There is a disclaimer that each batch of pancakes could take a little while to come out. Soufflé $17 for 2 pancakes, whipped cream and butter. These were the densest soufflé pancakes that you will ever come across. They are so heavy and eggy and reminded me of the egg cake that my mom would steam. I can also taste what I think is baking powder. Completely awful. The soufflé at other tables also looked super dense. Whoever tried these pancakes and mentioned it in the Michelin Guide need to visit them again. Our hot maple latte was served in a goblet and that was okay. The foam is thick, not too sweet. The coffee is medium strong in taste. The service is also minimal and our waiter didn't ask us how the food is because I would've told him as it is.

We went around 11:10am on Friday. Had a line down the stairs just to put your name down. I was told 20 mins and got seated about 10 mins after, not too bad! Definitely this place is amazing for ambiance and aesthetic. Soufflé pancakes - 10/10 so fluffy and delicate, the fruit gave a sweet taste Morning glory fried rice - super flavorful. Love the running yolk and mixed it with the fried rice Breakfast carbonara - fire, very flavorful. I will say that it is extremely rich. Overall I'd say must try spot if you are in the area :)))

Saying that the Glory Morning is hip and trendy would be a literal understatement to this establishment. It's as if you are stepping into Alice in Wonderland for Breakfast but end up getting a dose of amazing food and trippyness. The service is outstanding and also very amusing with their leopard print overalls attire matching the ambiance of the restaurant. Despite the menu being very diverse in different cultures, it didn't take away from the quality and taste of each dish. They live up to their hype and I understand why it's a constant 1hr+ wait. It's because it's worth it.

Very very long wait so be prepared! But service once seated is friendly and fast. We ordered the soufflé pancakes that were...ok..... but the Turkish eggs were delicious! The croissant toast comes with a really delicious passion fruit jam that was enjoyable! I also used the bread from the croissant toast to dip into the yogurt from the Turkish egg bowl and it was awesome. The ambiance is fun and eclectic.

Wait time is ridiculous, there's a long line just to put your name down, not even to dine. They really need to figure it out and offer reservations instead of wasting people's time. The inside was cute, but the food was mediocre for all of my friends and me. The Bloody Mary was probably the worst Bloody Mary I've ever had, and my friends didn't like their espresso martinis either. My friend ordered the vegan pancakes and they looked super tough, like she needed a steak knife just to cut through them. Another friend got the regular pancakes and said they weren't as good as she remembered since they make them in batches. Our server was cool and it was nice catching up with friends, but I would never wait in line for this place. Luckily my friend had put our name down early so we didn't have to wait too long.

Lively atmosphere to match the explosion of flavors. Located near Little Italy in San Diego, its location is easy to miss. It's located on the 2nd floor, just look for the long line along the staircase. Even on a Monday around 9 am there was a long line but the line moved fairly quickly. We didn't know but you can make reservations ahead of time. If you didn't, it's ok. We didn't have to wait too long. We were seated right away once we got to the front of the line. However some of the couples ahead of us had to wait about 30 minutes. I think it's because there are more larger tables vs smaller ones. The restaurant is pretty spacious with seating inside and outside. Very bright and fun decorations with lively music just added to the whole experience. We ordered the French omelette with goat cheese cream, the soufflé pancake and the chicken and waffles. For drinks we had the mocha latte, vanilla latte and iced americano. Everything was delicious! One of the best soufflé pancakes we have had. Usually soufflé pancakes can taste very egg forward but this one didn't. We also loved the fact the chicken and waffles came boneless and it wasn't spicy at all. Only critique I had was with the omelette. It was over cooked and ended up being a little hard. Overall a great experience. Would definitely come back again.

This is our favorite spot in all of San Diego, hands down! The staff, the drinks, the food, THE STAFF! The drinks are creative and delicious. The food is the same. I'm always impressed with the quality and quantity of food that their tiny kitchen cranks out. The music is always a vibe as well. What really makes MG special is the staff. Thomas, JJ, Mali, Amy, Molly, Bobby & the rest of the crew make this a place to come back to over and over. There's always a downside, and for MG it's the bathroom. Like most of CA, they only have 2 restrooms, so the line gets looooong! But really, if the bathroom line is what you find to complain about....

Epic breakfast spot in the heart of Little Italy. Get there early the line starts before they open! Everyone was nice and welcoming and lets say the bathroom is top notch. It has a bidet! Food was fantastic. Vibe is very eclectic and funky. Great morning starter!

Cool menus huge selection of offerings.

We finally made it down to Morning Glory in Little Italy and it did not disappoint. I ordered the soufflé pancakes and wow... they were amazing. Super light, fluffy, and honestly just melt in your mouth. Definitely worth the hype. I also tried the crispy hashbrowns. I'll say this... they're interesting. Not your traditional hashbrowns at all. They come in these little deep-fried square blocks and are very rich and decadent in flavor. Different, but still good. We also had a side of sausage , which was solid, and the hubby ordered the French omelette. He said it was just okay, nothing that stood out. The vibe in here is fun and upbeat. The music is loud, the energy is high, and the staff all seemed genuinely happy, which always makes a difference. Shoutout to Emily, our server, who was super sweet and even brought me out a cute birthday shot to celebrate. Such a nice touch. If you haven't been yet, I'd definitely recommend checking it out, especially for the soufflé pancakes. Come ready for a lively atmosphere and a really fun brunch experience.

WOW! Finally had a chance to stop here for breakfast and it was great! Do recommend going early and get on the waitlist when they are busy. We were welcomed in and seated at the booth inside oh the pink deco so fancy , the bar at the front when you walk in and they have a cool Moet xChandon mini bottle vending machine . Their menu so much to choose from but did start with their famous Souffle Pancakes added fruit and whipped cream , coffee in a nice mug (logo merch) Eggs Benedict , and Cabonara filled us up. Staff very great service and always checking on our table. Respect HOT Sauce! yes nice and spicy loved it! Its a cool vibe here and the bathroom clean and so fancy.

This is my favorite brunch spot in San Diego! There's almost always a line, so definitely try to get there early. The cocktails are super creative and so good. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Our go-to dishes are the soufflé pancake and the pork belly fried rice. The pancake is perfectly sweet on its own and doesn't even need syrup, and the pork belly fried rice is packed with flavor. The space is super hip and trendy, and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. Definitely a spot I keep coming back to!

I was helping my friend with their SD bucket lists before moving and this place was on the top. The restaurant is on the second floor, which gives you a pretty view of main street Little Italy. The entire place is well decorated with pretty colors and exotic displays (the big flower?). Honestly, just looking at all the little details kept me entertained, they even had a champagne vending machine! We got: Souffle Pancake w/o add ons - a good souffle pancake should be fluffy, but this was on the thicker side and felt like I was just eating a taller thick pancake. The syrup (heated!) and butter complemented the pancakes well. In general, this dish is perfect for those who can eat a lot of sweets (but not for me lol). Halfway through I wanted to switch for a savory dish as the two pancakes were very heavy. 3.5/5 Fried Chicken w/ Waffles - All I can say is that the hot syrup carried this dish. The chicken was well seasoned, but still kind of dry. The waffles were crispy and helped balance out the savoryness. 3/5 Turkish Eggs - My favorite dish of the three. Maybe I was just in flavor fatigue from all the sweetness, but this was such a good light savory dish that I felt good about eating. I would even go as far as trying to recreate this dish at home. What I really enjoyed was that I was able to taste all the ingredients within like the mint and garlic that paired really well with the yogurt. It had the perfect amount of salt and the eggs stood out despite being a small part of the dish. 5/5 We came as soon as the restaurant opened and got in within 30 minutes. I recommend coming early as there was a line starting at the opening time and parking can be tough in Little Italy. If you are visiting town, this place is definitely a spot to come by since you are so close to other activities, such as the farmer's market on the weekends (which is what we did).

Are they open on 2/16 (President's Day)?

    Do they allow dogs?

I saw a dog there today at the front table near the right side of the bar

Do they have valet parking? If not, where is the best place to park?

Unfortunately no they don't but there's valet parking all throughout that street !! Pretty cheap too

    Are reservations needed?

It's first come first served. Don't think they take reservations, thus crazy wait times.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Yes last time I was there dogs allowed and they give them water

How long is the wait time usually for friday brunch?

It depends on what time of day that you go. When they first open And you are there no long wait.

    Do they take reservation?

They do, but that 3 hour wait time was with a reservation

    Dim sum cart daily?

When I was there I asked and they told me weekends only (I was there mid-week).

Is it usually long wait times on Fridays as well?

    Not too long

Is it a long wait on Sunday? Ca we make reservation?

    Yes and no reservations taken

Is it busy on Mondays too? Or just the weekend?

Not at all, we we’ve been there on normal weekdays and there was like a 5 minute wait.

    How much is brunch?

Depends on what you order....check the menu.

    Is this place pet friendly?

It is pet-friendly, as they even have water bowls for your fur baby when requested.

    Do you take reservations?

Check the online menu under Family Affair. They do accept reservations for certain meal items, that come with a high price. May be worth it as the wait can be almost 2 hours peak times.

Are there any mocktails available here? Looking to have a beautifully crafted drink sans alcohol!

Yes there are and the car could also make something for you off menu.

    Do they serve, gluten-free pancakes?

Hi Laraine we do have gluten free pancakes.

Is bar seating quicker, if you just want to grab a drink?

Depends on how many people you are with. I went by myself and got seated at the bar immediately for food and drinks.

Dog friendly. Are puppies allowed there?

I believe so. I saw many people with their pets dining.

Are there high chairs available for toddlers?

Yes! They have cute rattan ones and the Stokke Tripp Trapp.

    Do they have bottomless mimosas?

No but their drink menu is otherwise amazing

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.

Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!

Growing up, I always looked forward to meat pie Fridays at primary school, so when I saw they had meat pies on the menu, I knew I had to try this place. I was honestly blown away. The meat pie was incredible. The flakiness of the crust especially stood out because it is seriously hard to replicate a taste of home from over 30 years ago, but they absolutely nailed it. It was spot on. I really took my time with every bite. The fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned so well too. It was so good that I had to order another pie to-go and yes, I literally carried it onto the plane with me. Even after traveling, it still did not disappoint. On top of the food, the service made the experience even more memorable. Sami was so kind and welcoming, and she even gave me one of their cups with the sheep logo, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I'll absolutely be back the next time I'm in San Diego. I wish I could have met the owners, but maybe next time. Thank you so much for not only serving amazing food, but for giving me a little piece of home here in the US.

We were greeted quickly and were able to be seated without a reservation despite the large party. The food selection looked great. There were two vegetarian options including a pot pie. The pot pie was hearty and delicious. It was full of a variety of vegetables and the fries were amazing. Would definitely go back if I am in the area
