Man candy, Short Rib Benedict, espresso martini,
Hannah B.

I was a little underwhelmed with this place, and maybe I ordered the wrong things. I got the short rib Benedict and it was honestly soggy and flavorless. It tasted more like water and oil than anything else, really bummed out. The man candy was good, but I expected it to be crispy, mine was super soggy and floppy. My Mexican mocha was frickin fantastic, it's the perfect sugary sweet morning drink, not very coffee strong. My friend got an espresso martini that was also super good. The service was alright, we were seated right away, but every time we needed something or were ready to order or pay the waiter went to everyone but us, it was like he was avoiding us. Not the biggest deal, but it got to be a bit frustrating. The place itself is actually really cute, the liberty station one is outdoor, with big open window areas, great on a super nice day, shaded so you aren't in direct sun, but then allowing airflow and you feel like you are outside. I am going to go again, I have heard their French toast and pancakes are awesome, just feel like I ordered the wrong things.

More of a 3 1/2 star for the food here ,but customer service was great. The stuffed French toast was OK nothing special and the short rib egg Benedict was not that good meat was real greasy. I won't be back to this place if I'm ever back out on this area.

Apple Fritter Pancakes and House-Cured Salmon Benedict - June 2026

Love the outdoor covered patio. There were surfboards with lights and it didn't feel too crowded. We came for breakfast on Sunday and parking is easy at Liberty Station. Service was great, food was good overall. The smoked salmon Benedict was tasty and I liked that you could opt for focaccia or English muffin. Pictured is focaccia, the potatoes on the side were dry. The apple fritter pancakes were a bit portion, we opted to share at the table.

The Breakfast Sushi was to die for! Pairing it with the French toast was the perfect pair of savory and sweet

The sushi was amazing! And so was the French toast board. Very creative idea. I went with a large party and we were still served very quickly! Liked how the seating was outside but still felt enclosed. Can't wait to go back!

Grilled Turkey Sandwich (sub'd fries with salad)

Dined here for lunch the other day with two pals and had a great time! Service was beyond excellent! Yelp shout out to Ben, one of the FTC managers who visited us at our table and was both hospitable and helpful. He gave us his favorite items as well as what's most popular. Two of us ordered their Grilled Turkey sandwich with side salad (instead of fries). I can't recall what my other buddy ordered but he couldn't finish it and told the rest to-go. Sat in their covered patio and it was a great day so it was perfect. I also ordered a cold brew and a blackberry mocktail, both of which were tasty & refreshing. Food quantity was adequate, prices reasonable, my order was served hot and fresh. Restrooms were clean, all in all, no complaints. Most of my visits here have been for breakfast, so this lunch visit was a new and pleasant one for me.

Fig Tree Cafe at Liberty Station has such a cute vibe and a great location. The food was okay, nothing bad, just a bit underwhelming compared to what I expected. The mimosa flight was pretty basic as well, nothing too special. That said, our server was absolutely top notch, super attentive, friendly and really made the experience enjoyable. The great service definitely made up for the food!

Breakfast Sushi

Breakfast sushi!! Two words you need to know. Order it and you won't regret. I do recommend asking for the plum sauce on the side. It was a lot of sauce. Also you get three huge pieces. I recommend coming here with someone else order this and another plate to share. The service was slow and our waitress didn't update us until later that they were having kitchen issues. Overall a lovely restaurant. They have plenty of options for dairy and gluten free people.

Lemon Ricotta pancakes.

Wanted a super-local San Diego, semi-chain artisanal breakfast spot (two locations -- does that count as a chain?), and this place checked all the boxes. It was the perfect healthy, non-oily carb breakfast I needed before walking all day at the San Diego Safari Park. The lemon ricotta pancakes had the perfect balance of sweet and tart, the omelet's sautéed vegetables added a great crunch, and their signature Fig Tree Blend coffee was a fun touch served in their own personal mugs -- which I actually considered buying from the merch section. The menu has a variety of interesting, modern options that definitely make me want to return. It's not cheap (but what is affordable anywhere lately?), so you're paying for the flavor.

Crispy Pork Belly & Grits 2/22/26

This trip Ingot the Crispy Pork Belly and Grits, with a side of Man Candy! Soooo Goood! The grits had the perfect consistency. The Man Candy is delicious! The wife got the Quinoa Salad and loved it. She gets it every time she comes here. Our server, Joey, did a great job explaining things and taking care of us. Thanks Joey!!! It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and sitting outside was perfect for our group! My father in law got a spicy Bloody Maria and added A slice of Man Candy (Bacon with Brown sugar and paprika). He loved it!!! We will definitely be back! Cheers!

YUM. I love Fig Tree Cafe. The yogurt bowl is so good and everyone loves the burritos. The staff is nice, coffee is great and patio is wonderful.

Came for a work luncheon. Great area of course with ample free parking. They seated our group of 9 well. The menu is pretty simple and I can tell by the hot sauce on the table they are affiliated with another restaurant chain (I'm thinking breakfast republic? Rooster on the bottle). Staff was excellent and friendly. I got a delicious hot chocolate and the traditional Benedict (one in English muffin and one on focaccia). This came with potatoes as was good but nothing amazing to me. I do prefer it on the English muffin. I feel like I should've ordered something else. Everyone's food did look delicious. I'd come back for maybe the breakfast burrito or grilled cheese. They have another location near hazard center as well.

*great service *casual ambiance * yummy food Been here a few times, always for breakfast, and it's a great brunch spot when you're in Liberty Station. Sundays can get busy, but I've never waited more than about 20 minutes. Their hibiscus lemonade is delicious, and I ordered the chipotle chilaquiles they are super tasty, especially with over-medium eggs. Service is great and prompt every time. Definitely a solid spot to come for breakfast or brunch when you're in the area.

Disgusting Vanilla Cream Cold Brew Just milk and coffee cubes
Linda B.

Oh my. Where the HECK do I starts. First, the service. It took us 20 minutes to see a waiter and when he showed up he was uninterested and unhelpful. We saw him a total of 3 times in our whole visit. 1: taking our order 2: giving our food 3: getting our check. Not a single check in. Second, the cream cold brew is disgusting. It comes as a glass of milk with coffee ice cubes that takes 20 minutes to melt and is gross. The sad part is the food was good, but when the coffee and service is bad I can't recommend a place like this in good conscience.

Do they take reservations?

Unfortunately no. You have to go and enter your number in the waitlist. Unless they have changed something from this Aug.

Can Fig Tree accommodate a large breakfast group - ~30 people?

Is breakfast served till closing time at 3 PM?

Yes

Outside sitting are dogs allowed?

Yes!

Does the whole party have to be present before seating?

Yes

Do you have a corkage fee if I want to bring my own champagne bottle for brunch?

Though we don't allow outside bottles, we welcome you to try our Fig Tree Cafe Prosecco. Enjoy as is, or with our carafe of fresh squeezed Oj :)

Are there mimosa flights? And how much do they cost?

Yes there are! Not sure on price, but they're good sized and range in flavors.

Do you need reservations?

Hi! We’re actually on a first come first serve basis and don’t accept reservations.

Why no more dinners all of a sudden? Fig Tree Liberty Station was our favorite dinner place!

WHAT???? Oh, no!!! Hope you get an answer, for me, too!

Has this place changed ownership?

I don't know. I only know that they have a new kitchen manager.
