Comic Con weekend 2025. We stopped by to check out the menu. Laisha saw us and asked us if we had questions. We chatted and based on her recommendations and enthusiasm we decided to try. We were not disappointed. They were busy but made time to interact and check on each table. The decor was kitschy but cute. I really loved the vibe of the place. Drinks were delicious. Pretty but also tasty. We ordered a Prosecco mimosa and Light Bulb. Food was well prepared. Good flavors. We got the Steak & Eggs to share along with a side of bacon, sausage and English muffin. Came here for a group breakfast with 6 people. There's no reservations so we did have to wait 25 min for a table. It was relatively busy so I understand but I wish there would have been a way to reserve. The server was nice and the inside of the restaurant was clean. The decor was funny. Not my style but very interesting. They have a large menu and I got the Turkish eggs for breakfast and shared the ube cinnamon roll. The portion sizes were large and the food was good but not particularly standout. My stomach felt very heavy and full for the rest of the day I think because the food was very heavy. What I loved: - The decor of the space! I should mention there isn't a kids' menu available, but the portions are shareable. - The flavor and quality of the food were outstanding. Everything was cooked to the correct temperatures and served hot and flavorful. - My favorite bit was my Birria Chilaquiles. I'd recommend that dish if you're considering it! What fell short: - The service. Hands down, this was 100% my only discomfort. The server we had was clearly overwhelmed in his section. He took a really long time to approach our table, take our food order, check on us after our food was delivered - not to mention he got several orders at our table wrong. The mistakes on a busy morning were understandable, but his demeanor after we would bring up any issues made the experience awkward and uncomfortable. For example, I asked several times for my chilaquiles without jalapeños. Not only did he leave them on, but when I mentioned it to him, he instructed me to take them off and push them around after taking a big sigh of annoyance. He forgot a side of fruit for my kids, and when we brought it up to him, again, he made awkward sighs of annoyance before grunting it would be out. He made everyone at our table pretty uncomfortable. Someone else delivered the fruit but he never checked on our table again. I don't believe this was an isolated experience, as several tables around me looked equally uncomfortable with his service. He spilled a drink on a guest at a table behind me, and rather than apologize to the guest, he looked visibly irritated, picked up the glass he had spilled, did not offer the guest napkins or even ask if she was okay, and walked away. After that incident, another employee approached our table with a credit card terminal and asked if we were ready to pay. I wouldn't write this place off as the food and ambiance are pretty chill. Service is part of the gamble we know we may experience when visiting a restaurant, but this was unfortunately not the experience I was hoping for. read more

This is the best brunch in San Diego! Highly recommend the spicy bloody Mary. So flavorful and truly spicy! The additional jalapeno bacon didn't really add that much to it, but the bacon e as delicious as a side on its own. The Turkish eggs were fantastic- poached eggs with a flight gets flavor, spinach and crispy onions. The sourdough toast was flavorful and a great accompaniment. The jalapeno cheddar egg on the potato waffle was also good, but I will come back for the Turkish eggs. I know other reviews have raved about the tots. They seemed like tots you could get anywhere. The service was friendly, polite, but not overwhelming. It felt a bit like being in Europe. The decor is lovely with velvety wall paper and artful coqs all over the walls. Food still is good but when you ask for a substitute of something and there is a up charge the customer should be told. My family owned 4 restaurants in SD and that is always rule of thumb to do first is inform the client. Didn't want potatoes but didn't eat the fruit we asked to substitute either. The service was great, and the drinks were fun and creativeI liked the concept of the cotton candy drink, though I'm usually not a fan of warm cocktails, so I did ask for ice (which probably didn't help the drink much). The Birria Benedict, however, was hands down amazing. I would come back just for that alone. The pancakes my wife ordered were okay not terrible, but not a standout. There was a short wait to be seated, and while the service was a little slow, the inside décor was very cool and made the space enjoyable to sit in. For drinks, the iced coffee was on the sweet side, but the cappuccino was good. The real standout was the chilaquiles--they were amazing and absolutely worth coming back for. We added birria, which unfortunately turned out to be the wrong choice, as it was very dry and lacked flavor. The same issue applied to the Benedict. One small letdown was the potatoes. I'm not a fan of tater tots, and the menu described them as house potatoes, so that was disappointing. Overall, still a solid breakfast spot with some strong dishes. Breakfast brunch with my boys, on a cooler-than-expected Sunday morning in October. They had a few people waiting for tables ahead of us when we arrived, but it didn't take long for them to clear a table on the patio for us, which I appreciated. To start, we each got a cup of their Spanish Latte ($7). My main was the Birria Benedict ($17), with a side of the consome (free) and avocado (+$2.50). My husband got the Chipotle Chilaquiles ($16.50) with Birria (+$5) and avocado (+$2.50). We also ordered a side of the Jalapeno Bacon ($6.50) to share. The lattes and bacon came out first - really quickly. So quickly that the bacon wasn't even hot, much less warm, when it got to our table. The lattes were good, not the best Spanish Lattes we've ever had (those were experienced in Vancouver, BC) but decent and warm and flavorful. The bacon was not worth $6.50, in my opinion. But maybe that's because I have a different idea of what "thick-cut bacon" should look like, and feel like, when cooked up and served. It was more sweet than spicy, which I should have expected, given "brown sugar" was listed before "jalapeno" in the description. It took long enough for our main meals to come out that our waitress had to stop by to apologize for the wait. We hadn't even really noticed, we were enjoying hanging out and chatting, but once she said something, we couldn't help but realize it had been a while since we'd placed our order. I will say that the plates, when they arrived, were full to bursting with food. So much so that neither of us were able to finish our meals, which very rarely happens these days (at least, not for the hubs.) My birria benedicts were tasty, pile high with slow-cooked and tender meat. The eggs were perfectly poached - should be a no-brainer but I'm always surprised when restaurants get that wrong - and melted right into the meat and English muffin. The tots were an interesting choice. I love tater tots, but I'm not sure they did anything for the plate overall. The avocado was creamy and rich, and served with a smattering of sea salt on top, which plussed it up in a way I wouldn't have imagined. My husband loved the chilaquiles plate, which was also so full of meat and toppings that I'm not really surprised he couldn't finish it. The two downers to the morning were the wait to get our check, once everything was cleared away (trying several times to flag down someone who could either find our waitress or bring the bill to us) and the bathroom, which was nowhere close to being clean, and made my toes curl the entire time I was in there. read more

Super cute breakfast/brunch spot! From the eclectic decor and overall trendy vibe to the food itself, I'm glad I decided to stop by. Our server was also very sweet. Started the meal with the ensaymada ube roll, which was the highlight of my day. I'm a sucker for ensaymadas and this roll hit all the right notes. The roll is a good size too so I ended up taking most of it home. A friend and I split the breakfast sausage sandwich and soyrizo benedict. The breakfast sausage sandwich was very hearty. I did like this but ended up needing lots of ketchup as I could not really taste the garlic aioli. I'm not much of an eggs benedict person, but I liked this soyrizo version. Definitely a great option for vegan/vegetarian diners. We decided to try a waffle pop after seeing another table order them. Unfortunately, the blueberry waffle pop was kind of disappointing. I went here in the morning and it wasn't too crowded at this time, but it was during a race weekend so it seemed like they were short-staffed. It took a while to find a staff member to get seated since it only looked like one waitress was working tables and seating. After being seated I overheard her complaining to another coworker that there was a marathon going on, so people were stuck in traffic. Short staffing aside, the staff is polite. I got the 6th and G mocha and that was really good. Rich and creamy, and sweet which I enjoy. For breakfast I got the American breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, and tater tots. The tater tots were seasoned and tasted really good, but to be honest even with seasoning, tater tots made it seem like plate of cafeteria breakfast. They didn't have the condiments available on the table unless you asked, so ask for jam for your toast and hot sauce for your food. They portion it out in little cups and they're so good. The hot sauce is house made, and it's Smokey and mildly spicy. The jam is sweet and tastes like homemade sauce. read more

So glad we decided to check out 6th and G rather than stick with the first brunch place we stopped at. Great vibe, lively, loved the decor, loved the tableware, loved checking out the book titles (inspo?) placed above around the bar/counter seating. Had the matcha flood pancakes (pancakes are ube-infused), which are wonderful and fun and beautiful - what a great idea. Meat Lovers scramble was also very good, and I love that the toast came with butter AND jam. I noticed that the bathrooms were a bit dirty, but one was cleaned up the second time I went in it. Overall, you can tell there's a lot of attention to detail to everything, and even though there's a very fun vibe, they are also very professional and care deeply about the customer experience. Kid approved. 6th & G burger $18 - heavy garlic flavor, loved the jalapeño bacon. Tater tots are herby. Birria sandwich $16 - good flavor, wasn't dry, consume was good as were tots. Hostess was really welcoming, but the male bartender and waiters were literally acting like they were offended/inconvenienced to do THEIR job. I came here on a Friday afternoon around 1 pm. It's walk-in only. I've tried going on weekends before, but the wait is always 45 minutes or more. When I arrived, there were only three or four tables occupied inside, maybe 8-10 people total. Still, me and another guest waited outside for over five minutes before being seated, which was confusing since there were plenty of open tables. I brought my two dogs, and they are dog-friendly. My dogs are service dogs so that may be why we were allowed inside. It took a while for someone to come to the table. I was given water, but I had to ask for a refill and could've used a second one as well. Once I placed my order, a birria sandwich with tater tots, the food came out in under five minutes. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. Very flavorful, but very messy. You definitely need a fork to eat it, but it was worth it. When I was ready to leave, I waited about five minutes and couldn't find the waiter so I went up to the bar to close out. Overall, the food was great. Unfortunately, the wait to get seated, the slow service, and not being checked on were surprisingly bad given how empty it was. I can only imagine how rough it gets when they're busy. I took my wife here for her birthday breakfast it wasnt really busy so parking and seating was quick we got coffes to start I got a cold brew with strawberry cold foam and she got the 6th and g mocha the coffee didn't really do it for us they espresso in hers was muted and just tasted like hot chocolate milk and I couldn't find the strawberry flavor at all in my cold foam. When we were ready to order she got the waffle pops flight and some turkey bacon I got the potato waffle with two eggs and it had a mornay sauce with bacon cheddar sausage and jalapenos. The waffle it self has no flavor it was the extras that caffeine it it tasted like mashed potatoes in waffle form no real crust and crunch the sausage was good. My wife's waffle pops flight was one waffle with popsicle sticks and different toppings on each quadrant her favorites where the lemon blueberry and the strawberry matcha and she's not even a matcha girly. The one she likes the least was the amore she really didn't like the chocolate on that one. The vibes are cool, the service was good , the food just wasn't for us. read more
