Turkish breakfast
Chloe C.

Food - super yummy! We ordered Turkish breakfast, pancakes and tots. Everyday was really tasty. Freshly squeezed OJ was freakin amazing!!! Service 100/10. Our server was so good! She gave us a ton of good recommendations and was helpful since it was our first time. Ambiance - cute spot with indoor and outdoor seating. More girly inside

Prosecco mimosa & Light Bulb

Comic Con weekend 2025. We stopped by to check out the menu. Laisha saw us and asked us if we had questions. We chatted and based on her recommendations and enthusiasm we decided to try. We were not disappointed. They were busy but made time to interact and check on each table. The decor was kitschy but cute. I really loved the vibe of the place. Drinks were delicious. Pretty but also tasty. We ordered a Prosecco mimosa and Light Bulb. Food was well prepared. Good flavors. We got the Steak & Eggs to share along with a side of bacon, sausage and English muffin. The jam for the muffin was delicious. Fresh ripe fruit taste but not overly sweet. Steak was cooked to order, medium rare. Tater tots were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Not greasy. Food was great. Service was great. Would definitely recommend.

Came here for a group breakfast with 6 people. There's no reservations so we did have to wait 25 min for a table. It was relatively busy so I understand but I wish there would have been a way to reserve. The server was nice and the inside of the restaurant was clean. The decor was funny. Not my style but very interesting. They have a large menu and I got the Turkish eggs for breakfast and shared the ube cinnamon roll. The portion sizes were large and the food was good but not particularly standout. My stomach felt very heavy and full for the rest of the day I think because the food was very heavy. Overall it was a good meal and experience but I'm not sure I would go again just because the food was a little too heavy for my liking.

First of all, walk into a very stylized cute colorful design that's vibey and fun. Nice art throughout, cool dishes on the tables, very nicely appointed restaurant. The food was very good, my son ordered the steak and eggs which he said was delicious! I ordered the yogurt and bananas with granola which was very light and tasty. The service was great. I would return and i would definitely recommend!

Service was amazing!! So was the food! Totally a place of you wanna tik tok or insta but the food was on point! I love the decor. The pink table scape made it fun. We got pancakes, eggs Benedict with fried shrimp, Turkish eggs and a sandwich. Everything was delicious! Opens at 7am and it's the perfect place for weekday breakfast before going to your convention or comic con.

We were very excited to try this place..... The ambiance was nice. Food presentation and staff, AMAZING. The hubby and I shared the following: * Ensaymada Ube Roll * Steak & Eggs w/ pancakes Our starter was so yummy. You could really taste the ube flavor. Our Steak plate was ordered medium-rare. Unfortunately it came out well done. I would've sent it back but it still had flavor. Also, we had already waited 1/2 an hour to be seated so I didn't feel like waiting longer to have them cook us another steak. I did at least mention it to the waitress when she checked up on us. We may visit in the future to give them another try.

Waked up and waited about 15 minutes to be called. I believe they were short staffed because there was seating. Our server was welcoming and pleasant. I felt like he took time to get to know us which was nice. I had the breakfast burrito with tots. I enjoyed it. I actually saved half of it for later because it was plentiful! The place is aesthetically pleasing with quotes around and beautiful greenery. Even the glasses for water were cute. I would recommend this spot for breakfast.

What I loved: - The decor of the space! Like many restaurants in this area, I appreciated its unique approach to decorating the space with fun, vibrant colors, light fixtures, and over-the-top displays that make it stand out and seem exciting to visit. - I appreciated the broad and unique brunch menu with a little bit of everything for all palates, from lighter options to heartier choices. - The portions for the food we ordered were large and filling. I should mention there isn't a kids' menu available, but the portions are shareable. - The flavor and quality of the food were outstanding. Everything was cooked to the correct temperatures and served hot and flavorful. - My favorite bit was my Birria Chilaquiles. I'd recommend that dish if you're considering it! What fell short: - The service. Hands down, this was 100% my only discomfort. The server we had was clearly overwhelmed in his section. He took a really long time to approach our table, take our food order, check on us after our food was delivered - not to mention he got several orders at our table wrong. The mistakes on a busy morning were understandable, but his demeanor after we would bring up any issues made the experience awkward and uncomfortable. For example, I asked several times for my chilaquiles without jalapeños. Not only did he leave them on, but when I mentioned it to him, he instructed me to take them off and push them around after taking a big sigh of annoyance. He forgot a side of fruit for my kids, and when we brought it up to him, again, he made awkward sighs of annoyance before grunting it would be out. He made everyone at our table pretty uncomfortable. Someone else delivered the fruit but he never checked on our table again. I don't believe this was an isolated experience, as several tables around me looked equally uncomfortable with his service. He spilled a drink on a guest at a table behind me, and rather than apologize to the guest, he looked visibly irritated, picked up the glass he had spilled, did not offer the guest napkins or even ask if she was okay, and walked away. After that incident, another employee approached our table with a credit card terminal and asked if we were ready to pay. I wouldn't write this place off as the food and ambiance are pretty chill. Service is part of the gamble we know we may experience when visiting a restaurant, but this was unfortunately not the experience I was hoping for.

The best restaurant meal I've had in a long time! Please go here. The service was great, thank you Marques. The ambience is unique and artistic with a homey feel. The food was elite. Get the waffle sampler, you won't regret it. Best waffles ever. Latte was delicious. The birria sandwich melts in your mouth. Highly recommend!

Came here with friends because we saw how good the reviews were, and honestly, they definitely lived up to the hype lol. The Turkish Eggs were amazing! I really enjoyed the savoriness of it all. We also ordered the Matcha Flood Pancakes, which were sweet in all the right ways! The strawberry + matcha combo is always a hit The lattes were also super cute. I'd definitely come back and order it all again!

Food still is good but when you ask for a substitute of something and there is a up charge the customer should be told. My family owned 4 restaurants in SD and that is always rule of thumb to do first is inform the client. Didn't want potatoes but didn't eat the fruit we asked to substitute either. Would have just said no potatoes if I knew I was going to be charged 3.50 for something else I didn't want. Didn't want my plate to be so empty that's why I asked for substitution fyi Best espresso martini ever

Espresso martini and the cotton candy cocktail
Sean L.

Just came yesterday and thought the inside was really cute. The service was great, and the drinks were fun and creativeI liked the concept of the cotton candy drink, though I'm usually not a fan of warm cocktails, so I did ask for ice (which probably didn't help the drink much). The Birria Benedict, however, was hands down amazing. I would come back just for that alone. The pancakes my wife ordered were okay not terrible, but not a standout. My son's steak and eggs were fine, though a bit bland and chewy. The tater tots were excellent. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more dishes.

Chilaquiles
Rebekah W.

Tried 6th & G Breakfast in San Diego and overall had a good experience. There was a short wait to be seated, and while the service was a little slow, the inside décor was very cool and made the space enjoyable to sit in. For drinks, the iced coffee was on the sweet side, but the cappuccino was good. The real standout was the chilaquiles--they were amazing and absolutely worth coming back for. We added birria, which unfortunately turned out to be the wrong choice, as it was very dry and lacked flavor. The same issue applied to the Benedict. One small letdown was the potatoes. I'm not a fan of tater tots, and the menu described them as house potatoes, so that was disappointing. Overall, still a solid breakfast spot with some strong dishes. I'd definitely come back to try other items on the menu, especially the chilaquiles.

I told my friend the food was worth the wait. After an hour we got sat at the bar and our first server was friendly. There was a transition of servers (not sure if he left for the day or went on lunch) and the new server would check on everyone at the bar except us. My water remained empty for most of the meal. The bartenders in front of us were clearly having a conversation and I didn't want to interrupt. My friend claimed her Irish coffee was sour? And didn't realize cheese came on a side of eggs (she should've checked when she ordered but the server never clarified either). We weren't checked on during the meal until the bill came and by then we just wanted to leave. I ordered the fluffy pancakes and found an egg shell inside. The cracking of eggshells in my mouth made me loose my appetite. We paid (still tipped of course) and left. It was great the first time and mediocre the second time. I prefer consistently in service, especially if I'm waiting an hour to be seated.

We had spent most of the day around Bankers Hill and decided to grab an early dinner at Books & Records. Getting reservations was easy, but from the moment we walked in, the ambiance alone already had us sold. The place was still pretty quiet when we arrived, and to our surprise it was happy hour, so naturally we ordered a bunch of items off the menu along with drinks. Everything was ridiculously good. Not one miss. What really stood out though was the attention to detail. The host brought us a complimentary glass of champagne after hearing we were celebrating our anniversary. Small gesture, big impact. Stuff like that matters. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, live music started playing, and the whole atmosphere just came alive. Our waiter never rushed us once, which made the experience feel even more intentional and relaxed. We were able to actually enjoy the moment instead of feeling pushed through dinner service. Good food is one thing. Great hospitality is another. This place gave us both. Next time we're in San Diego, we're absolutely making it a point to come back. Lovely spot. Lovely experience.

Cramped and loud, but nicely decorated and serving solid authentic meals. Mexican Latte-9/10: Pretty straightforward. A solid, nostalgic spiced coffee. Mazapan Latte-10/10: A novelty menu item, both nostalgic and tasty. With a sweetened condensed milk rim and mazapan dust, this sweet coffee is a must order. Chilaquiles-10/10: Cocina 35 knows how to throw down the best Mexican breakfast item: the chilaquiles. The Verde was good but didn't pack much heat. The Salsa Secreta was our favorite; a creamy 3-chile salsa with an artichoke flavor, this one packs an enjoyable amount of heat. The Chipotle was another yummy and creamy option, making your nose run but still very enjoyable. Frijoles Puercos-7/10: They were pretty standard. I've definitely had better. They served their purpose as a good side. Concha Rellena-7.5/10: Another creative menu item. Whipped cream and whole strawberries sandwiched between two french toast-style concha halves and drenched in cajeta. It was sweet and warm, but would've been more enjoyable with fresher and/or sliced strawberries. Fun to order, but a regular concha is better suited for enjoying with your coffee. Service-6/10: Again, Cocina 35 gets packed, so service isn't as attentive. Our party had to order and wait for water, ask for refills, call the server over for more orders and again for the bill, and wouldn't speak to us in Spanish. I witnessed other tables be spoken to in Spanish, but upon ordering I'd only be responded to in English. I know I'm a white Mexican, but native tongue is nice when I make it clear I'd like to order in Spanish. Overall, a fun spot with solid menu items. The samplers are pricey but probably the best bang for your buck. They do the classics very well, and are very much worth your visit!
