It's a nice place to stop by in the hotel if you're by the pool. The food was good overall, though could be better. Our drinks were super sour, but still good. Service was a bit slow.

Guac and Salsa is a must!

The newly re-conceptualized La Cantina at the Loews Coronado Bay is nothing short of amazing! the new afternoon spot for fun, sun, tacos and margaritas! The soft opening was today and it was a treat to remember! Between the 3 of us, we ordered 10 tacos (which you can mix and match), elote, ceviche, shishito peppers and the chips, guac/salsa! Everything was fresh, bursting with flavor, oh and the trio salsas to add on the tacos were divine! There's nothing better than to kick back and relax on a gorgeous San Diego day! Will definitely be back for more!

The pool and bar here are great! Spaced out well due to Covid and super clean. The service by Ivorii was great- came by when we needed her and she was so sweet and speedy! Will be back!!

If you're staying at the Loews Resort, stop out in the pool area for some good food! Whether you are sunning around the pool or sitting on the lounge sofas, they will bring you food and drinks of your liking. The service here was great. They would always check on us. Food was served quickly as well as our drinks! Our first night we tried the carnitas nachos. The chips are made there in house. Loved how fresh and delicious these were! I could have just snacked on those chips all night. The carnitas had such a great flavor. It was so tender and perfectly spread over the nachos. Since it also had a lot of cheese and guacamole, I was in heaven. The next day as we were laying out by the pool, I figured only drinking wasn't a good idea. We split the carnitas quesadilla. This was filled with a lot of meat and cheese. The guac and pico are served on the side. The carnitas once again had a great flavor. I was happy with both food choices. Our experience was good overall and would absolutely come back.

Awesome poolside cocktails.... strawberry Fields Forever! That cocktail menu is better than anything inside the Loews Resort. And the guacamole with salsa and perfect chips were incredible. Great burgers and street tacos, nachos and loaded carnitas fries.... oh yum. Love the great service and the poolside buzzers. Coming back again tomorrow for a repeat!

For on property hotel food this isn't a bad option. Food and drink are priced reasonably considering its poolside service. The food isn't awesome, but it isn't bad... Just don't expect anything amazing, other than the service. The staff are very helpful and quick to offer menu and drink suggestions.

This was a relatively inexpensive meal and was really good! The ceviche tostadas were delicious (with green olives) and the guac was well made and we got a lot! Would recommend this if you want a quick bite or lighter dinner! Great view was a plus!

Stopped by for lunch while staying in the hotel. I wasn't even going to the pool but so glad I ate there. Had the tacos. Fish tacos were the best, followed by pastor, and carnitas. Nice cold beer selection to go with them. Definitely recommend it!

Great service. Prices a bit inflated but it's a resort. You're on vacation. Relax. A few bucks won't kill you. Chicken tacos delish. So Cal burger delish. Peaceful, breezy. Eat at the pool or by the bar. Love the little button thing you push that summons your server. Shout out to the pool staff. Really friendly and helpful. George at the towel stand dug my cheesy Hawaiian Beatle T-Shirt and engaged me in a fun convo about the rare Butcher album cover his mom owns. Cool dude. Erika at La Cantina was so sweet and helpful. She went all the way to another restaurant on property to get me a hot tea even though she had dozens of other customers. We will be back!

Margarita was excellent! And good selection of San Diego craft beer

And, only then will I entertain a night out unless I'm with the right group of people. I've been to this bar several times now and it's been nothing but good old fashion fun. You can be yourself and no one bothers you. It's not crazy crowded, at least when I've been there during the weekdays. I can actually find a seat at the bar or just lounge in the back area on a couch. There are also tables and chairs to choose from. There has been a DJ, live band, karaoke or just plain music jammin. The highlight for me: the bar tenders ! They were attentive and friendly. Shout out to Justin and I forgot young looking female bartender's name. Is this the review where I finally lose all credibility? Nah, Yelp reviewers don't have credibility…read moreto begin with. Normally, I just judge the food. Like, when I go to a popular bar, I don't care about the popularity or the vibes. If the food doesn't meet my higher standards, it can't get five stars. Conversely, the customer service could be super rude, but I might give it five stars as long as I love the food. Lol. Which makes this review out of character for me. Or I'm just being a hypocrite. Even when I gave Brigantine five stars, I love their mixed drinks and a lot of their seafood. I'd have no issues with writing another five star review of the food at the Brigantine. Those lobster quesadillas are immaculate. This place on the other hand...... Okay no, that makes it sound bad. It's definitely not bad. The mango habanero wings here had a nice crisp and flavor. The pizza definitely had a cheap crust and cheap ingredients, but the final product still had a decent flavor. Like, it's not going to win any awards, but it'll still taste like heaven when you're consuming alcohol. This is one of the most popular bars in the area. I've floated or driven past it quite a few times already since I currently live in IB, and I've never seen it not slammed. I finally decided to walk in here at like 1400, and the bar was still packed. However, the clientele is mostly locals. And the bar and clientele is of a variety that will affect your mileage. Specifically, there is a ton of active duty or retired U.S. Navy, there is Navy memorabilia all over the walls, and it probably leans conservative pretty hard. So you might feel like an outsider unless you fit one of those categories. That might've been me if I wasn't also in the Navy. Lol The dude on my right immediately told me that the owner is retired Navy. And the somewhat drunk dude on my left started chatting also. And I somehow almost immediately participated in getting an orange Jaeger bomb (which I suggested since the orange Jaeger was directly in my line of sight.) Uuuhh, all that just to say, I mostly use Yelp to look for amazing food. If you're just looking for Michelin star food, I don't think there's anything particularly ground-breaking here. However, the locals do claim that this is one of the most popular bars in San Diego. There are reasons for that, whatever those reasons are, because it definitely doesn't have anything to do with the Yelp average.

There is parking on-site and on the street. You can enter the parking lot either through Sea Coast Drive or Imperial Beach Boulevard. We arrived at 9:30am on a Saturday and found plenty of open parking. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated ourselves in the patio area. A server came over right away, took our drink order, and brought us menus. She refilled our drinks before they were empty and brought us boxes once she saw we were done. She was attentive and anticipated our needs. She was always friendly whenever she stopped by our table. My Denver omelet came with home fries and toast, for a small fee I substituted the toast for pancakes. The cheese on my Denver omelet was burned. I prefer the cheese to be melted and stretchy, as it adds flavor and texture to the omelet. The burned cheese took away from the overall flavor of the omelet. The home fries are always delicious - slightly crispy, well-seasoned, with sautéed bell peppers topped with queso fresco. The pancake was dry and didn't have much flavor. I've been here many times before, and the pancakes are always delicious. The breakfast sandwich was okay. The tomato was a bit overwhelming and made the sandwich slightly soggy. The breakfast burger was tasty and made just as ordered. The mini chocolate chip pancakes were really good, definitely on the sweet side. The portions are big and you will definitely have leftovers. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Both areas have many TVs showing different sporting events, making it a great place to watch a Padres game. Located at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, you will find the lounge right at the center of the lobby. You'll find seating at the bar, or there is a comfy lounge area with cozy chairs / couches and plenty of TV's to enjoy local San Diego sports, as well as a great view of the city skyline while you're seated outside by the fire pit. The menu has plenty of food and drink options for both dinner and happy hour. While the HH menu may be a bit limited, you're still sure to find something to enjoy - A Burger, Hummus & Pita, or Fries, as well as a few more options. The dinner menu is where it's at - Shareable's, Flatbreads, Salads, Steaks, Chicken Sammies, Desserts and a Kid's menu for those traveling with little ones. I opted for local Craft Beer to drink {a good IPA, of course}, while The Hubs opted for the delicious Old Fashioned. For dinner on our first night, we decided to share the Cay's Double Cheeseburger - topped with Smoked Bacon, Cheddar, Lettuce, Tomato and a House-Made Dressing {w/ Raw Onions on the side for me} and a side of Parmesan & Garlic Truffle Fries. This is the perfect combo and satisfied every craving. Whether we were at the bar for dinner or simply drinks, we were tended to by Elijah, who was absolutely wonderful. He was beyond friendly, always had a smile on his face and engaged patrons in the most mindful manner. When he overheard us mentioning our birthday, he caught us on our way out to dinner and told us to stop by the bar when we returned - We swung by for a nightcap and he surprised us with a complimentary dessert - A warm Brownie with a Bourbon Caramel Glaze and Vanilla Ice Cream. The setting is undeniably beautiful and relaxing, making it an appealing choice for a leisurely lunch or sunset dinner. We arrived shortly after opening and were seated promptly. Unfortunately, the service after that point was noticeably slow. The menu offered a good variety (see my pics of two menu pages), and we opted for the Fish and Chips along with the Greek Salad. The Fish and Chips arrived with a crisp, light batter encasing tender white fish. It was paired with a spicy remoulade that added a little zing. However, my request for malt vinegar took quite a while to be fulfilled, and as shown in my photo, it arrived in only a small dish -- not ideal for such a classic pairing. The fries were average, though the garlic parmesan sprinkle was a nice touch. The Greek Salad, pictured, was very basic in presentation but fresh. The lemon oregano vinaigrette was good, but not particularly memorable. A point to note: the grilled chicken you see on top of the salad was an additional $12 - something to consider if you're watching costs. While we enjoyed a few drinks with our meals, the final bill totaled $150, including tip, for lunch for two. See a pic of our holey napkin, not what I would expect of a water front restaurant.

The bowls and fruit salad were what originally caught my eye. I was not feeling a berry salad, so I got a carne asada bowl, and it was delicious. The steak was soft and peppery, and the ratio of ingredients was well balanced. The hummus, kale, and salsas made for a fun Mediterranean flavor, and the basmati rice was fluffy and consistent. The upstairs, however, has a better view of the ocean. It is more of a countertop seating area, lined up with stools and it gives you a peek of the ocean.
