It's a nice place to stop by in the hotel if you're by the pool. The food was good overall, though could be better. Our drinks were super sour, but still good. Service was a bit slow.

Guac and Salsa is a must!

The newly re-conceptualized La Cantina at the Loews Coronado Bay is nothing short of amazing! the new afternoon spot for fun, sun, tacos and margaritas! The soft opening was today and it was a treat to remember! Between the 3 of us, we ordered 10 tacos (which you can mix and match), elote, ceviche, shishito peppers and the chips, guac/salsa! Everything was fresh, bursting with flavor, oh and the trio salsas to add on the tacos were divine! There's nothing better than to kick back and relax on a gorgeous San Diego day! Will definitely be back for more!

The pool and bar here are great! Spaced out well due to Covid and super clean. The service by Ivorii was great- came by when we needed her and she was so sweet and speedy! Will be back!!

If you're staying at the Loews Resort, stop out in the pool area for some good food! Whether you are sunning around the pool or sitting on the lounge sofas, they will bring you food and drinks of your liking. The service here was great. They would always check on us. Food was served quickly as well as our drinks! Our first night we tried the carnitas nachos. The chips are made there in house. Loved how fresh and delicious these were! I could have just snacked on those chips all night. The carnitas had such a great flavor. It was so tender and perfectly spread over the nachos. Since it also had a lot of cheese and guacamole, I was in heaven. The next day as we were laying out by the pool, I figured only drinking wasn't a good idea. We split the carnitas quesadilla. This was filled with a lot of meat and cheese. The guac and pico are served on the side. The carnitas once again had a great flavor. I was happy with both food choices. Our experience was good overall and would absolutely come back.

Awesome poolside cocktails.... strawberry Fields Forever! That cocktail menu is better than anything inside the Loews Resort. And the guacamole with salsa and perfect chips were incredible. Great burgers and street tacos, nachos and loaded carnitas fries.... oh yum. Love the great service and the poolside buzzers. Coming back again tomorrow for a repeat!

This was a relatively inexpensive meal and was really good! The ceviche tostadas were delicious (with green olives) and the guac was well made and we got a lot! Would recommend this if you want a quick bite or lighter dinner! Great view was a plus!

For on property hotel food this isn't a bad option. Food and drink are priced reasonably considering its poolside service. The food isn't awesome, but it isn't bad... Just don't expect anything amazing, other than the service. The staff are very helpful and quick to offer menu and drink suggestions.

Stopped by for lunch while staying in the hotel. I wasn't even going to the pool but so glad I ate there. Had the tacos. Fish tacos were the best, followed by pastor, and carnitas. Nice cold beer selection to go with them. Definitely recommend it!

Great service. Prices a bit inflated but it's a resort. You're on vacation. Relax. A few bucks won't kill you. Chicken tacos delish. So Cal burger delish. Peaceful, breezy. Eat at the pool or by the bar. Love the little button thing you push that summons your server. Shout out to the pool staff. Really friendly and helpful. George at the towel stand dug my cheesy Hawaiian Beatle T-Shirt and engaged me in a fun convo about the rare Butcher album cover his mom owns. Cool dude. Erika at La Cantina was so sweet and helpful. She went all the way to another restaurant on property to get me a hot tea even though she had dozens of other customers. We will be back!

Margarita was excellent! And good selection of San Diego craft beer

So we looked up nearby restaurants and found The Henry. So glad we did. Our first time here and it won't be our last.... The hostess was very kind and welcoming. She took our name down right away. We waited under 10 minutes to be seated. We opted to sit inside. Very nice vibe. Our waiter Enrique was AMAZING. Super attentive and a true asset to this restaurant. Our food came out quickly. Everything was so flavorful. You could really taste the quality. The hubby even got a tea to go. TOP NOTCH!! I ordered the following below: *Korean Prime Skirt Steak: 5/5 - I asked for my skirt steak medium rare and man was it cooked so well. Underneath was fried rice, bok choy, veggies and a nice creamy Korean sauce . The sauce really complimented the steak and fried rice really well. I was very pleased on how the steak was juicy and tender ! *Braised Short Rib: 2/5 - Don't get me wrong i love me some good braised short ribs, however, these were very disappointing. Most of the meat was covered by fat, the portion size was insanely small considering its an entree. Not much veggies or sides to compliment this meal very well, definitely need to redo this dish. *Pressed Yellowtail Sushi: 5/5 - Honestly the yellowtail was so fresh ! It had a hint of spiciness but also a hint of sweetness. The sushi was very fresh and almost tasted like a ceviche mix. *Parmesan Truffle Fries: 3/5 - Your average truffle fries. Nothing fancy about them. I really wish they were crispier. The ambiance was very nice and welcoming. You are introduced to basically nice oak wood tables everywhere. The booth we sat in was pretty comfy. The service was exceptional. It is nice to know you are getting some quality dishes, others need some refinement.

The food is good I guess. The wagyu taco had a nice flavor and the greens with the sauce made it work. I don't think it's actually wagyu, but the word is pretty much meaningless at this point. For the crust, I found it to be way too chewy rather than light and flaky. I couldn't even cut it with my spoon anymore and had to pick up a long thing of crust and pull it apart with my teeth. I will allow that the gravy and other contents are bland and generic since if it had as much flavor as I actually want, other customers will be complaining about it. But the crust I cannot forgive. Overall it was not bad though. Surprisingly, my favorite item was the brussels sprouts. Even with all the seasoning and cheese, I found the flavor to be well balanced. Even after most of the plate, I noticed I didn't find it too salty. I really like the menus in the crappy brown folders. I think they might've also done it because it's easy and cheap, but it works well with the aesthetic they have.

I'll review our dinner and then post the brunch review in a few days! First, the view is gorgeous. The Marriott Coronado has a gorgeous piece of real estate, facing the bay, the Coronado Bridge, and downtown San Diego. Dinner, Valentine's Day: VDay could be a big disaster but it went pretty smoothly. They had a 3-course prix fixe menu (plus an amuse & a glass of sparkling wine) as a special, or you could do their bar menu. Oscar was our server and he did a great job keeping us updated about how the kitchen was doing. Our drinks came pretty fast. I got a DAITIKI: cutwater tiki rum, lime juice, simple syrup & angostura bitters. I asked for it light on the simple - and it was a pretty impressive cocktail. Really well balanced, with a lot of different flavors going on. Yes & yes on this! Appetizers: I got their brussel sprouts with lime and honey glaze and marcona almonds. WOW! This was a wow dish. HUGE and fabulous brussel dish, for $16, with this view. Now I'm getting excited! We also got the guacamole which was good, though underseasoned. Entrees: my sweetie got one of the bowls (baja?) with carne asada added and liked it. I got a veggie burger - not yummy! Very weird patty, not tasty. However, the fries that came with it were good. SO... I had a great cocktail, a giant portion of exceptional brussel sprouts, and a bad veggie burger. Could be worse! Wine: I also got a glass of the JLohr Pure Paso red blend, which was very nice. Leathery but not too heavy. For dessert, Oscar advised us that we could order individual dishes from the prix fixe, and that dessert would be much faster if we ordered the Valentine's desserts instead of the desserts they usually serve. And yes, they came out immediately. Deconstructed strawberry shortcake. Flavors were good. Shortbread was a little dry, but very nicely seasoned. I liked the consistently of the chocolate mousse tulip, but found the tulip part (chocolate shell) very bland, not that interesting to eat too. Overall, some parts of our dinner were exceptional, the kitchen can be slow... and don't order the veggie patty! Otherwise this is a great place to come and enjoy our gorgeous city and have some yummy bites or drinks, and with very nice heaters. Thanks, Oscar and the team!
