Food was really good and service too. Very reasonably priced for ambiance and San Diego. If you are looking for a nicer, affordable and casual date spot with views, this is your place. The only downside is we had to pay $10 for parking, but if that doesn't bother you, go check it out! Includes starter bread which was yummy

We arrived for dinner reservations (recommended) and seated promptly. The decor is simple, classy, modern with a quiet, refined atmosphere. Given ice water and drinks upon sitting. We ordered dinner and were served in a reasonably expeditious manner. The staff were extremely polite, proficient and meticulous. I enjoyed the staff efficiency, teamwork, and table work. Superb service! Started with Clam Chowder (clams, jalapeño, bacon) THIS is how all clam chowders should be made! Perfect consistency, creamy; not too thick or too watery , loaded with clam bits and clam flavor, bacon to compliment, and jalapeño for a clean spice and not one element overbearing, all the flavor blended perfectly, impressive. The Shrimp cocktail: shrimp cooked perfectly; it's done right, you get the sweet, succulent, shrimp meat with sour lemon and spicy/sweet cocktail sauce and it's music in your mouth. I ordered Short Rib Stroganoff for my main dish, if they would've asked me to pay double for this I would've happily, as I haven't found better in San Diego. The Cassarecce noodles are perfect al dente, curled into itself and wavy and with channels to grab sauce and cream, the beef melts in your mouth with juicy flavor. The mushrooms and onions popped with fresh flavor. I had a side of asparagus, I'm still thinking of it because the preparation was immaculate, no stringy fiber I've come to expect, the stem was as soft as the head, the spears were prepped and steamed consistent top to bottom! Great attention to detail all around. Standing ovation to the wait staff, prep cooks and chefs. Bravo!

We went to this place for dinner, and it's such a hidden jam in San Diego! Way in Coronado further down the island, unexpectedly good restaurant with amazing views and fabulous ambience, makes you feel like you're really out of San Diego. You stepped into another world. The menu is a bit limited, though, I wish they had more options, but whatever we had was overall good. Service was slow, but waiters were extremely kind and accommodating, and made us feel good even though the food was slow. We've had salad, short rib and pesto pasta. Overall would come back for brunch !

Breakfast spot tucked in a pretty resort at the bottom of Coronado. I will preface THIS PLACE IS EXPENSIVE... for continental breakfast vibes. A fruit plate is $23 .... This place had a long line so go early to snag a table on a weekend. I will say, for it being basic breakfast, they do it well. The breakfast potato's were perfectly crispy and soft in the inside, perfect amount of salt. I still think about it .... Overall it was yummy but not worth the price

Had a nice birthday dinner for my husband at Crown Landing. Beautiful setting both inside and outside dining. Love the delicious clam chowder with jalapeño and bacon starter, the fresh large shrimp & crabmeat with creamy lobster sauce and the large glazed salmon on bed of saffron rice and garnishments. Great drinks. Ended great dinner with Pistachio Crème Brûlée Desert. Wait staff was amazing!!!

What is supposed to be an 8 ounces NY Steak for $45.

I will get to the point. I felt that Crown Landing was a disappointment and just average and I will not return today here again. From the very beginning, the hostess made a comment "we have been waiting for you" when we arrived. We were 5 minutes early so I didn't quite understand the comment. We were sat down right at the front where every person walked by so the ambience was missing, especially for such a pricey meal. From the beginning, it went down hill. It took so much time for us to get a server that the hostess actually came over and asked us for our drink order to help out. It wasn't that busy so I was surprise. We placed our drink orders and again, they took a long time and my wife and I didn't get our pre dinner cocktails until our meal was served. We order 3 NY steaks and they were to be 8 ounces. We also ordered two pasta dishes and checked fingers for the little one, clam chowder, shrimp cocktail, Brie apps. For the most part, the meal was good. The clam chowder was delicious and chock full of clams and the Brie and shrimp were tasty. The bread they served was good as well. We did have to ask for water a couple of times which was irritating. The pasta dishes were ok... the bolognese had a nice flavor but the linguine with seafood lacked one important ingredient, seafood. For $28 that was surprising. The sauce was bland at best. Now the steaks. We ordered three of them and they were cooked the way we asked. However, all three of us noticed a strange gassy/ profane like flavor on them. They were still good but something was off. And what was supposed to be 8 ounces was 4-5 at best. And lastly, the Baine of any chef is having to cook chicken fingers or nuggets I am sure... and it looked like it. It literally looked like three or four of them were thrown on a plate with a handful of fries. $12?? Yikes. One thing I don't mind is paying for a quality meal and paying big. What I don't like is that this place was presented as a high end restaurant and it was average as best, with a $500 price tag with tip. Did the food taste good? Yes for the most part. Did I feel I got what I paid for? No. I would say that Crown Landing is mismanaged, needs service training and their impression of their food is much higher than my perception. Food: 3 stars Service: 3 stars Cleanliness: 5 stars Atmosphere: 3 stars Price to value: 2 stars I won't be returning and I can't recommend this place unless you are in a pinch and there is nothing else. I felt ripped off when I left and I even waited a few hours to write this to see if my feelings changed. Not worth what I paid.

This is our second time here. This time we came to celebrate my passing my board exam! Chucky was our server and he was very kind and helpful. The manager was very attentive, my daughter cried in the beginning of our dinner because she wanted water and she came to see if she was okay. It was very sweet. She also offered to get us a thing for her. We felt accommodated and cared for during our visit. It was very quiet and intimate, it was a Monday night. Besides the services the food was 10/10 last time we came the food was exceptional. Both dishes were great! My daughter loved the veal and pork bolognese. And I got the short rib stroganoff. Chefs kiss!

We had a lovely time at this restaurant for dinner and breakfast. I will start with the service. Erika did a fantastic job in all areas. She knew her menu and was able to answer all questions for both dinner and breakfast. All of the people at this hotel (Lowes Coronado) were really good and made us feel special. We had scallops, cauliflower puree and asparagus for our main dinner. The scallops were cooked just a little over but were still tasty. The French onion soup was one of the best I have had. The broth was so rich and had a deep flavor. It was not too salty and had a nice balance of onions, bread and cheese. For breakfast we had the bagel, cream cheese and smoked salmon (two times). The bagels were lightly toasted. The cream cheese had bits of green onion that were perfect. The salmon was plentiful, fresh and tender. It was served with capers, sliced red tomatoes, red onion and lettuce. The only comment I have is that the first time there was plenty if cream cheese and the second time there was not enough. Not sure if it makes a difference but the second time was room service and the first time was in the restaurant. Drinks were good. Great wine choice too.

Updating my previous review because this place has consistently exceeded our expectations. We spent Thanksgiving dinner here last year and most recently I took my team building here for brunch. Everyone was raving about the food, the excellent service, and the coastal view! We lived in the neighborhood next door and this has been our neighborhood grill and bar. You feel like you're on vacation!

    Truffle mushroom pasta
    Olivia C.

The food was very good! We ordered the pistachio pesto pasta & truffle mushroom pasta. The truffle mushroom pasta was pretty decent but the pistachio pesto pasta was amazing! It had Brussels sprouts and extremely flavorful pork Pieces in it. The restaurant has a beautiful view of the weather and boats from the patio. The reason it's not giving a 10 is the service could've been better. The server was a little awkward but no big deal, she was sweet. The food took a long time to come out. My other issue is that they claimed things were house made that clearly weren't. The pasta wasn't made from scratch because I found a random rigatoni in there. It was good though! If you are not staying in the resort, I'm not sure what the parking situation would be. It's $47 a day for self parking and $50 for Valet for resort guests but if you wanted to just visit the restaurant, you should call ahead to see what your options for parking are.

Here for a conference and stayed onsite for dinner--food was alright, tuna tartare was great and Brussels sprouts were good albeit on the sweet side. Risotto was a bit underwhelming and scallops were a bit over cooked--service was on the slower side but it was a busy night so understandable.

Amazing food and service at the restaurant, the resort is another story, I give the restaurant 5 stars and the resort and resort staff 0 stars! I have posted my review of the resort, please come to this restaurant, just do NOT stay at the resort!!

Like, when I go to a popular bar, I don't care about the popularity or the vibes. If the food doesn't meet my higher standards, it can't get five stars. Conversely, the customer service could be super rude, but I might give it five stars as long as I love the food. Lol. Which makes this review out of character for me. Or I'm just being a hypocrite. Even when I gave Brigantine five stars, I love their mixed drinks and a lot of their seafood. I'd have no issues with writing another five star review of the food at the Brigantine. Those lobster quesadillas are immaculate. This place on the other hand...... Okay no, that makes it sound bad. It's definitely not bad. The mango habanero wings here had a nice crisp and flavor. The pizza definitely had a cheap crust and cheap ingredients, but the final product still had a decent flavor. Like, it's not going to win any awards, but it'll still taste like heaven when you're consuming alcohol. This is one of the most popular bars in the area. I've floated or driven past it quite a few times already since I currently live in IB, and I've never seen it not slammed. I finally decided to walk in here at like 1400, and the bar was still packed. However, the clientele is mostly locals. And the bar and clientele is of a variety that will affect your mileage. Specifically, there is a ton of active duty or retired U.S. Navy, there is Navy memorabilia all over the walls, and it probably leans conservative pretty hard. So you might feel like an outsider unless you fit one of those categories. That might've been me if I wasn't also in the Navy. Lol The dude on my right immediately told me that the owner is retired Navy. And the somewhat drunk dude on my left started chatting also. And I somehow almost immediately participated in getting an orange Jaeger bomb (which I suggested since the orange Jaeger was directly in my line of sight.) Uuuhh, all that just to say, I mostly use Yelp to look for amazing food. If you're just looking for Michelin star food, I don't think there's anything particularly ground-breaking here. However, the locals do claim that this is one of the most popular bars in San Diego. There are reasons for that, whatever those reasons are, because it definitely doesn't have anything to do with the Yelp average.

There is parking on-site and on the street. You can enter the parking lot either through Sea Coast Drive or Imperial Beach Boulevard. We arrived at 9:30am on a Saturday and found plenty of open parking. Upon walking in, we were greeted by a friendly staff member and seated ourselves in the patio area. A server came over right away, took our drink order, and brought us menus. She refilled our drinks before they were empty and brought us boxes once she saw we were done. She was attentive and anticipated our needs. She was always friendly whenever she stopped by our table. My Denver omelet came with home fries and toast, for a small fee I substituted the toast for pancakes. The cheese on my Denver omelet was burned. I prefer the cheese to be melted and stretchy, as it adds flavor and texture to the omelet. The burned cheese took away from the overall flavor of the omelet. The home fries are always delicious - slightly crispy, well-seasoned, with sautéed bell peppers topped with queso fresco. The pancake was dry and didn't have much flavor. I've been here many times before, and the pancakes are always delicious. The breakfast sandwich was okay. The tomato was a bit overwhelming and made the sandwich slightly soggy. The breakfast burger was tasty and made just as ordered. The mini chocolate chip pancakes were really good, definitely on the sweet side. The portions are big and you will definitely have leftovers. The Fish and Chips arrived with a crisp, light batter encasing tender white fish. It was paired with a spicy remoulade that added a little zing. However, my request for malt vinegar took quite a while to be fulfilled, and as shown in my photo, it arrived in only a small dish -- not ideal for such a classic pairing. The fries were average, though the garlic parmesan sprinkle was a nice touch. The Greek Salad, pictured, was very basic in presentation but fresh. The lemon oregano vinaigrette was good, but not particularly memorable. A point to note: the grilled chicken you see on top of the salad was an additional $12 - something to consider if you're watching costs. While we enjoyed a few drinks with our meals, the final bill totaled $150, including tip, for lunch for two. See a pic of our holey napkin, not what I would expect of a water front restaurant.

The space is an outdoor restaurant where you go to a walk-up counter to order your tacos and beer. Your drink is given to you upon payment and the wait is generally 5-10 minutes for food, depending on the time and day. The downstairs area is family friendly with cornholes, rows of picnic tables lined up and a fire-pit. Though it's near the beach, the ocean views are obstructed by a building. The upstairs, however, has a better view of the ocean. It is more of a countertop seating area, lined up with stools and it gives you a peek of the ocean. Now let's talk food, because lets' be real, that is why you're reading this review. The Fish Taco, Surf and Turf Taco and Queso Birria are our favorite go to. That first crispy bite of the Fish taco thats covered in chipotle and lime aioli is delightful. The Surf and Turf has the perfect balance of shrimp and beef. The Queso Birria is a decent size that leaves you nice and full and wanting more just because it's that tasty. They also offer a variety beers, including some ciders. They even offer a few cocktails, like a Paloma. The service is a bit inconsistent. Servers bring out your food and that's the last you'll see of them. Since it's a counter service type of spot, I guess it is to be expected. Aside from that, it's a great spot to grab a quick taco and refreshing adult beverage while taking in the ocean breeze.

My first visit was for open mic comedy. I ordered a patty melt which came with hand cut fries. The cheesy patty on rye bread was still delicious, and there were more fries than I could eat. Not much of a crowd except for the comics themselves, maybe 10-12 with a very entertaining host in between. All were good but many were hilarious including a first-timer. Fun vibe for sure, I would happily go again. I deducted one star because as a new guest, I asked the bartender if they had any special house cocktails. She seemed to hear the word special and thought I meant cheap. I said not necessarily cheap, but do you have any interesting house cocktails here. She said no, so I ordered something boring. Then I got the food menu which on the back had an entire list of house cocktails. But service overall was excellent.

This particular occasion, myself and another patron sat down at the bar and waited....and waited...and..... Finally I asked the cook if there was a bartender. He told me "no bartender. the bar is closed for an hour". Now wouldnt you think that IF the bar was closed at a Bar and Grill they would maybe close the doors and not let people sit there and wait for somebody that never shows up? Just a thought. I dont know if they changed ownership possibly, but this kind of (lack of) service is not going to fly with the general public. Its a shame. I use to love this place.
