We ate at the Cays lounge twice. One time at night upon arrival. And a second time for lunch. Late night- ordered spicy honey pizza and prawn cocktail. Food tastes good. The server was just okay because we had to ask for utensils. The bartender was nice when he provided me with a to go box for my leftover pizza. He was hospitable in also informing me that I can request a microwave to warm up my food. Fun vibe. Everyone here was watching the Padres game so it was cool. Lunch bites- decided to eat outside. Since the menu was exactly the same, I asked if I can order the turkey club which says only available for late night bites. They accommodated and I was happy with my meal. Many seating options outside - tables or sofas. They even have music speakers outside playing music while you enjoy the view. If you wanted to eat on the sofa with the fire in front of you, that's an option too. It's a bit pricey, but you're at a resort far away from everything so it's expected.

Nice indoor casual seating near fireplace & outside seating with fire pits and bay views. Enjoyed delicious bacon, cheeseburger, fish & chips, crispy fries with spicy roulade sauce. Great bar drinks and friendly server.

Bartenders are great and drinks are on point. Gotta try the Gunpowder Irish Gin on the rocks. So tasty. The food is yummy. Gotta come here!

Came here a couple times while staying at the resort. Located right off the lobby, you can sit at the bar, inside lounge area, or outside. There are tables outside on the upper level and some couches on the lower level. You're harder to see on the lower level so you may have to alert servers that you're there, especially at night when it's dark. We had the Caesar salad, burger, fish and chips, and truffle fries. The burger and fries were tasty and the fish and salad were fine. The views and ambience were really nice. The service was friendly and helpful. Average size prices and portions for a resort in this area. $10 parking if you are just staying a couple of hours and not overnight.

HANGING OUT IN THE CAYS (3.8 stars) After taking the 22' Hurricane Powerboat out on the water for some spins, we decided to continue drinking and get something to eat around the Coronado Cays and found ourselves at the resort. Fancy resort lounge wasn't our main pick of a restaurant but since we were at the Cays already why the heck not! The menu had offerings we all liked and we were fine with eating there regardless of inflated resort lounge prices. ENDLESS SUMMER ($15) - Summer citrus vodka, Lillet Blanc, mint, sparkling lime & yuzu, grapefruit, aromatics & botanicals from our garden. Lol our entire table ordered an endless summer because we didn't want our summer to end. It was so freshening! HIGHLY RECOMMEND HAMBURGER ($12) - I ordered from the kids meal section because I in general eat small portions and hate ordering large portions and food going to waste. The meal did come with fries. Basically, it's The Cays burger minus all the burger fixings and half the price but portion was mosdef generous to be a kids meal. When it came out I was surprised and satisfied. It was a kids meal so obviously no medium rare meat. The bun was lightly toasted and good fluff and texture. It was a basic burger and I had requested to add some lettuce, it wasn't the most amazing burger ever but it was fair! The fries were perfectly crispy. RECOMMEND. JUMBO SHRIMP COCKTAIL ($22) - Spicy cocktail sauce, lemon. Pricy for 5 pieces of jumbo prawns. But the prawns were super good! I considered ordering another order but was already full. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Honestly, some people overlook hotel lounges because they are pricy. But in Metropolitan cities I've lived in I found comfort hanging out at hotel lounges - if that be eating, drinking, or just shooting the ish with friends or colleagues. It's a different feel and I'm into it. JABA APPROVED. Until the next review...

Was here for a meeting at the lovely Loew's Coronado Hotel and was able to grab a bite at the Lounge. Cheeseburger hit the spot and service was on point as we placed our orders prior to when they open at noon as we seated ourselves at 11:30 letting the bartender know that we had a meeting at 1 pm. Order was received 15 mins after opening which was fantastic.

The fact that this is salad was $21.00 is absolutely absurd. No wow experience at all, should honestly be ashamed of yourselves for offering something like this.

This lounge in the main lobby of the Loews Coronado resort was fantastic. Great service, beautifully decorated for the holidays (massive gingerbread house), and amazing cocktails. My favorite part of relaxing in the lounge after a long day was the amazing musician that played keyboard and sang beautifully. They have live music Saturday. Didn't want to leave.. so good! They had a massive tv where my happy husband was able to watch college football while sipping his old fashioned. This resort is located a few miles from downtown Coronado so it is really isolated which makes it important to have a good lounge/bar area since leaving the hotel Is a hassle.

Came by for some drinks, dessert, and the views. The churros are yummy, and not too sweet! We ordered a Cadillac margarita and it was really good - you could actually taste the alcohol... unlike most places :) our waitress was very nice and super attentive. She checked on us many times!

We just arrived. First stop: Cays Lounge!

This is a very nice bar inside the lobby at Loews in Coronado. We always get special attention here, but this time it was provided by Scott. He's just so mellow and interesting. He is friendly and professional and just nice to chat with. We also always seem to meet other really nice folks who are also staying at Loews. The drinks are great as is the food. My favorite part is that my dog can join me in the bar. I can't recommend this place any higher, especially if you just want a low key - convivial experience.

Great place! Wonderful seating on the patio with the bay right in front of you! Comfy chairs and couches and fire pit tables. We loved our Old Fashions and the Baja tacos servers were friendly too!

Cant beat the views for a nice relaxing night in at the hotel. Sangria was so so. Meat and cheese plate was satisfying but higher price point for what we got. Overall, I think it was worth it just for the ambiance

Is this the review where I finally lose all credibility? Nah, Yelp reviewers don't have credibility…read moreto begin with. Normally, I just judge the food. Like, when I go to a popular bar, I don't care about the popularity or the vibes. If the food doesn't meet my higher standards, it can't get five stars. Conversely, the customer service could be super rude, but I might give it five stars as long as I love the food. Lol. Which makes this review out of character for me. Or I'm just being a hypocrite. Even when I gave Brigantine five stars, I love their mixed drinks and a lot of their seafood. I'd have no issues with writing another five star review of the food at the Brigantine. Those lobster quesadillas are immaculate. This place on the other hand...... Okay no, that makes it sound bad. It's definitely not bad. The mango habanero wings here had a nice crisp and flavor. The pizza definitely had a cheap crust and cheap ingredients, but the final product still had a decent flavor. Like, it's not going to win any awards, but it'll still taste like heaven when you're consuming alcohol. This is one of the most popular bars in the area. I've floated or driven past it quite a few times already since I currently live in IB, and I've never seen it not slammed. I finally decided to walk in here at like 1400, and the bar was still packed. However, the clientele is mostly locals. And the bar and clientele is of a variety that will affect your mileage. Specifically, there is a ton of active duty or retired U.S. Navy, there is Navy memorabilia all over the walls, and it probably leans conservative pretty hard. So you might feel like an outsider unless you fit one of those categories. That might've been me if I wasn't also in the Navy. Lol The dude on my right immediately told me that the owner is retired Navy. And the somewhat drunk dude on my left started chatting also. And I somehow almost immediately participated in getting an orange Jaeger bomb (which I suggested since the orange Jaeger was directly in my line of sight.) Uuuhh, all that just to say, I mostly use Yelp to look for amazing food. If you're just looking for Michelin star food, I don't think there's anything particularly ground-breaking here. However, the locals do claim that this is one of the most popular bars in San Diego. There are reasons for that, whatever those reasons are, because it definitely doesn't have anything to do with the Yelp average.

Then she recommended a cocktail that leverages a Mexican produced corn liquor in a Negroni but with gin subbed with mezcal. Both of these cocktails are bartenders choice and not on the menu, but the fact that they can execute such innovative cocktails so we'll speaks to the level of dedication bartenders at this bar have. Renee even gave pointers as to where I might be able to buy some of the bottles they use and for a few other bars of similar caliber to visit nearby. Once you're in the lounge, the vibes are immaculate. The décor is trendy, the wall art is incredible, and when I went, the DJ was absolutely killing it. I was Shazaming song after song because the playlist was that good. The service was fantastic from start to finish. Our hostess seated us right away, everyone was attentive, and the staff made the whole experience feel welcoming. Word of advice, get a reservation! You won't have to wait. The food was honestly better than I expected. If you go, you HAVE to order the Ahi Tuna Crispy Waffle. It was incredibly fresh, and the sweetness of the mango tied everything together perfectly. I also ordered the Wake & Bake Espresso which was delicious. One thing I really appreciated is that although I don't smoke, I never felt out of place. My friends were able to enjoy smoking at the table, and you can even order products to be brought upstairs (the upstairs selection is a bit smaller than what's available in the dispensary below, but it's still super convenient). As someone who doesn't consume THC, I was a little nervous about ordering a cocktail since they're served with a THC additive. Thankfully, the additive comes separately on the side, so you have complete control over whether you use it. I simply handed mine to a friend, and it completely took the pressure off. There is a $10 lounge cover, which I think is totally reasonable for the experience. If I remember correctly, it's waived with a dispensary purchase of $50 or more. Overall, Sessions on the Bay does an amazing job creating a space that's welcoming for everyone. Whether you're a regular cannabis consumer or you're simply there for the atmosphere, great food, drinks, music, and company, it's an awesome place to spend an evening. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to both my friends who partake and the ones who don't.

From the spooky, dark, skulls old school ambiance and decor, to the experience of not ordering from a menu, everything about it made it feel unique and curated making it feel like a true individualized experience. As mentioned, there are no menus. We sat at the bar, the bartender makes casual conversation with you regarding the types of drinks you enjoy. He curated something for both my husband and I based on what we shared we enjoyed. The drinks were delicious. The entry was very cool! It felt as if you were entering a hidden spot - which you do. When you enter the restaurant, you let the hostess know you're there for the Noble Experience. She let us know to head to the wall with the kegs (which is actually a door). You enter and there's a small waiting area where you're greeted by another hostess. This place is a 20/10. We can't wait to return on our next visit to SD.

It was a good mix of people dressed from casual to dressed up in business attire. I ask the bartender if she can make me on those margaritas they had when Guy Fieri was promoting the Santo Tequila and she said yes we still have some of that left. So she made me a margarita and it was really good. The tequila goes very well with cocktails. I then realize it was bartender that was in the video with him. She was very nice and the price was very reasonable for a rooftop bar. Couple funny things I met a couple guys from Boston as well who sat right next to me. We were kinda shocked that they had the heaters on as it wasn't that cold. At least for us lol. Again for a Friday I was shocked it was not packed. I was told during the games it is standing room only. I will definitely be back 100 percent!!

We ordered a Caesar salad, wings and carnitas quesidilla ($20 - not pictured). First of all, the salad was nice and tart from the dressing. It woke up my taste buds and provided some roughage. Unfortunately, the wings were a miss. They were baked vs fried, and the texture combined with the sourness of the tamarind didn't go well together. Lastly, the quesadilla was big and packed with meat. I had 1/4 of it and I was stuffed. Felix & Nia took great care of us. They were attentive and friendly. The ambiance was very nice on a warm summer night, and you can see Petco Park (where the Padres play). I would stop by Borrego, even though I would never stay at the hotel again. The food is very good, and the service is friendly & warm.

Exceptional Hosting by Keagan at Side Bar and Gaslamplighter!…read more If you are planning a corporate event, team-bonding outing, or just looking for an unforgettable night out in San Diego, you absolutely need to visit Side Bar and Gaslamplighter. Our team was in town for our quarterly QBR last quarter, and we went out afterward to let loose on the town. We randomly came across Side Bar on a Thursday night and met Blake the manager who introduced us to Keagan, who completely transformed our entire trip. He was the ultimate curator! He immediately assessed our group's vibe, realized we were out for team bonding, and invited us right in, securing a fantastic VIP booth for my team. After a few shots and grooving to great music, he personally ushered us over to Gaslamplighter for a change of scenery, where we spent the rest of the night enjoying amazing drinks and live karaoke. The experience was so incredible that on our second night out, after hopping around various other bars in the Gaslamp Quarter, our team unanimously decided to end our night right back at Side Bar. Once again, Keagan took flawless care of us. He hooked us up with another booth and a few bottles. We happened to be celebrating a team member's birthday that night, and Keagan made it unforgettable. The staff brought out the full VIP treatment with bright sparklers and "Happy Birthday" signs to close out the night in style. What makes Keagan so special is his attention to detail. Even while working a packed club and making his rounds to ensure everyone was taken care of, he constantly circled back to check on our group. He made every single person on our team feel incredibly important and looked after on both nights. We walked away with fantastic pictures, amazing team memories, and a strong desire to return. Shout out to Keagan and the exceptional teams at both Side Bar and Gaslamplighter; memories were truly made! I highly recommend these venues for any group outing in downtown San Diego.
