Happy hour mon-fri 2:30-5, weekends 3-5 Food specials
    Ryan M.

Came here for happy hour (Mon-Fri 2:30-5:00, Weekends 3-5) They have GREAT happy hour specials. I got the Wagyu Smash burger, it came with a 2 wagyu patties, american cheese, caramelized onions, sauce, pickles, and fries. The burger was really juicy and the caramelized onions were a perfect match to the burger. The fries seemed cut in house and freshly fried. At $11 i thought that was a really good deal. They also asked if i wanted some aioli to go with the fries which i thought was a great addition, i used it both on the buger and dipped some of the fries in. I also got a cocktail, Son of a bee-sting ($10 HH) it was made with gin, lemon, honey and ginger. It was quite spicy from the ginger, which i like so if you like the spice of ginger definitely get this one! If you like sweet i really like the Frankie Wallbanger, taste like a jolly rancher! Theres a game room with a pool table and shuffle board if you head out the back exit on the main floor past the bar. There's also an upstairs and downstairs if you want to rent out a private room, ive been in both. The down stairs has its own bar but is smaller, the upstairs holds more people but if you don't have enough to take up the whole space you may find yourself sharing the space with another party. As i left the place started to fill up and the parking lot was full, so i guess its kind of a popular happy hour. Friendly service, great prices during happy hour, i'll definitely be back!

Had an awesome dinner at The Remy in Mission Valley. The 30-day wet-aged ribeye was incredible -- seared over a wood fire grill and basted with beef tallow while resting. Seriously one of the best steaks I've had in San Diego. Our server Nate was fantastic; super attentive, funny, and had great recommendations all night. The Old Fashioned was strong and full of flavor, just the way it should be. The place has a really cool vibe, kind of like an old hunting cabin, warm and rustic but upscale at the same time. Appetizers and sides were spot-on too. We were celebrating a friend's birthday, and the team brought out ice cream with a candle, which was a great touch. Parking lot was a bit small. We didn't even try it and just parked on the street right out front. Overall, The Remy nailed it -- great food, great service, and a unique atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

What a wonderful place to enjoy a lunch. We came here to have lunch while some family members were in town to celebrate my Husband's birthday. The place is very clean and very well maintained. After about 3-5 mins, we were greeted and seated in a half booth half dining table area near the bar. The bar was very popular for lunch, with many patrons eating and drinking. We were offered flat or sparkling water and we chose both for the table. The place settings were minimalist, yet classy. There is something to say about simple and clean dining setups, they are great in my eyes. We ordered: 1 Caesar Salad 1 Wedge Salad with Steak 1 Tuna Tartare 1 Steak Sandwich with fries 1 Ahi Tuna Sandwich 1 Gin Pear Cocktail 1 Gin Lime Cocktail Our server was a nice lady and she even gave us a tour of the location after we dined. The food was very well prepared and tasted great! This is such a nice steakhouse and I recommend stopping here to experience their lunch menu. We will try their dinner menu as well when we can get back here; hopefull

Nice place, LOTS of areas to eat-- downstairs upstairs, main room, bar. Our server was GREAT, attentive, funny, prompt. Spent about 260 - had bone in ribeye (medium rare and was cooked exactly medium rare), bread, oysters, bone marrow, wedge salad and Mac n cheese. Order of best to worst: 1. Oysters - they had like a house made cocktail sauce "paste" - unlike anything I've ever had.. 2, Mac n cheese- was smoky, kind of like smoked Gouda vibes w bacon on top. 3. Bone Marrow and tbh the SAUCE of the bone marrow was the highlight. Like a tangy Marsala with capers, the sliced bread was very good also. 4. Steak was good, could have been more tender? But was charred nicely in the outside. 5. Wedge salad was nice- chunky pieces of bacon, fried onion crispies. Didn't expect it to have dill in the entire dressing- not my fave flavor but it was good. 6, Table bread was pretty hard on the outside, room temp, bread no flavor since it came with truffle butter (which was nice). Would definitely skip next time. My wine was great, asked for a 6oz- noticed my pour was huge. The bill showed we were charged for a carafe. Not a big deal, forced myself to chug it anyway lol. Nice olace for a bday dinner, and nice the hostess and server actually noted it.

It was valentines night. Called last minute to see if they had a table for me and my fiancé. They were the only ones out of 7 steakhouse calls that picked up my phone call and told me that they have a table for 2 at the patio (we found out because other people cancelled, not because they're not good). Some other places don't even pickup calls. We were seated as promised at 7 PM. Service was fast. Everything was positive experience. Even sitting at patio was great, brighter lighting and not too cold (they have warmers). Steak was good but it was a lot for me . Perfectly cooked as requested. Generously seasoned with salt (not just table salt).

We had a wonderful time celebrating my son's birthday here. The ambiance was lively and welcoming - I forgot our servers name, but everyone who came to our table was friendly. For appetizers we ordered crispy octopus, and tuna sashimi - both were tasty! Octopus was cooked perfectly. I didn't get photos of our steaks but it was tender with a nice warm red center, just how we like it. The food was amazing as well as the desserts. We'll definitely be back!

We had a good experience for dinner to celebrate my birthday. We made a reservation online and requested the downstairs area. Upon entering the establishment you can see the attention to detail they have done to remodel this restaurant. It's like a cool cowboy decor and not tacky, or normal steak house. I gave them minus 1 star as they had run out of the bread service, after we had ordered it, so we didn't get to try it, and it was not that late in the evening around 7pm. We sat at a corner table, that was perfect and intimate for our dinner. We were promptly greeted when seated and the wait staff was awesome and very attentive. Our server Ryan recommended some great wine the Harvey & Harriet and also the type of meat to choose since it was our first time visiting this restaurant. We ordered: - Harvey & Harriet Syrah blend wine and it was delicious, very smooth and paired perfectly with our steak. - Wagyu ribeye steak that was perfectly cooked and buttery soft. The whiskey peppercorn sauce we added provides some delicious flavor to the steak. We shared the steak since it was 16oz cut. - Crispy Brussel sprouts that were full of flavor with bacon and some sweet golden raisins - Small Mac and cheese which was gooey, cheesy and so good. It had pieces of bacon and a crunchy crust. By the end of our meal we were so full. Will definitely be back.

We had a really wonderful family dinner at The Remy! The ambiance was warm and inviting - dress it up or dress it down. Sean provided great service and food allergies were accommodated without hesitation. We will definitely be back!

First time here since the Remy opened and took over the old steakhouse that was previously there. I did love the atmosphere and how they decorated the place. Our service was amazing as well. Terrible parking, the street had a few spots luckily. The food was underwhelming. Wedge Salad 5/5 - great crisp salad, loved the crispy shallots. Scallops 2/5 - Rubbery, fishy, not a fan with the flavors that accompanied the dish. Wagyu Ribeye 3/5 - The cook was fine, I did like that it came with green beans (al dente) and mashed potatoes (flavorless). The steak itself didn't have much flavor, I asked for horseradish on the side to help. Crispy Brussels Sprouts 2/5 - the definitely were NOT crispy. They were soaked in a thai chili sauce which was overpowering. We'll be back to try their brunch, which I hear is amazing.

We finally made it to The Remy for New Year's dinner and it did not disappoint. I've always wanted to try this restaurant , and getting reservations online was super easy. They do have their own parking lot, but it fills up fast, luckily there's plenty of street parking nearby. We were seated early, which was a nice surprise, and the restaurant is much bigger than I expected with both lower and upper levels. The vibe was lively but still felt upscale and comfortable. We started with the shrimp cocktail and mussels, both were soooo good. Fresh, flavorful, and dishes we'd absolutely order again. For our mains, we tried the wagyu filet and wagyu ribeye. Both came with mashed potatoes and green beans, and everything was cooked perfectly. We also added a side of cornbread, which was super moist and delicious. Honestly, not a bad dish in sight. Service was great from start to finish, and the chef even came out to check on how we were enjoying everything...a really nice touch. Overall, The Remy delivered on food, service, and experience. We'll definitely be back soon!

We walked to the Remy from the Crown Plaza hotel nearby. The restaurant is a cool vibe with lots of taxidermy and animal skins so kind of an elevated a lodge feel. We didn't eat steak but I would if I came back!! Wendy was our server and she was excellent, she made recommendations, asked questions and offered a taste before I ordered a glass of wine. The salads were delicious and plentiful, the bread was served warm with a delicious compound butter... I would order this again. The roasted octopus appetizer was delicious and very plentiful... enough for an entree! The A5 Waygu Croquet was so rich, I really could barely finish the four small bites with minimal A5 waygu on top the croquet covered in parmesan cheese... I had to search for the meat. It was my least favorite but still good as an appetizer if shared due to the richness. I liked the wine selection and appreciated the welcome drink.

wagyu smashburger and filet medallions with mashed potatoes
    Erica C.

Pleasantly surprised by their steak and would give that a 4/5 and the rest of their food closer to 3.5/5. We went for the happy hour to try out their food. I would recommend the steak frites; steak was tender and perfectly cooked to medium well, fries were my favorite type (i like them limp so if you like them crispy, you might not enjoy these), but salad was heavily overdressed. Filet medallions with mashed potatoes was a laughably small portion that was equivalent to one kebab but was tender. The steak from the steak frites and the filet medallions were pretty much equally tender. Wagyu smashburger was average but a pretty good deal for $11. Caesar salad was also a very small portion for $9; know that it is not a traditional caesar and has more lemon in it. Staff were nice and constantly checked in on us to see how we were doing (maybe a little too much but it was fine). I loved their decor and the ambiance was nice. They have a parking lot, and while it isn't the biggest lot, you should have no trouble finding parking. Looks like there is enough street parking for overflow.

    Smores and lava cakes dessert

Everything about this place exceeded our expectations from start to finish. The customer service alone made the experience memorable, and the food backed it up completely. I really wish we had gotten our server's name because he absolutely nailed every recommendation he gave us. You can tell he genuinely knew the menu well and cared about making sure we had a great experience. We started with the potato croquettes and crispy octopus, both of which were incredible. The croquettes were perfectly crispy on the outside while still soft and flavorful inside. The octopus had the perfect texture and flavor balance, easily one of the better octopus dishes we've had in a long time. For the main course, we ordered the ribeye steaks along with the mac and cheese. The steaks were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. You can tell the quality of the meat is top tier. The mac and cheese was rich, creamy, and honestly comforting in the best way possible without feeling overly heavy. Dessert completely sealed the deal for us. The lava cakes were delicious, warm, rich, and exactly what you'd hope for. But the real standout was the s'mores dessert. Our server told us it wasn't overly sweet, and he was 100% right. It had the perfect balance of flavor without becoming overwhelming. I honestly don't even know how to properly describe it because it was so unique, but it was one of those desserts where everyone at the table immediately stops talking after the first bite. It was just that good. Overall, this was one of those dining experiences where every part of the meal felt thoughtfully done. Great atmosphere, outstanding service, and food that absolutely lives up to the hype. We'll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a memorable meal. Compliments to the chef!

So it's a fancy Manhattan variation. It was delish!!!!!! Make sure when you go to the amazing beaches next time in SD, check out Moe's. You'll love the food and cocktails as much as the vibe. It was a place that I look forward to going again and again. I absolutely recommend this place. Our experience there was fantastic!

This is…read moredefinitely a perfect spot for your next date night or the place to go for dinner for any occasion, like a birthday, or better yet, my birthday! Yes, I will be there next month with my whole gang celebrating with me on my special day! Our reservations were early, arriving on time @ 5:30 it was a bit quiet with only two other tables, but not for long. In no time every single table was filled. The restaurant was busy and the wine was a'flowin'! This quaint and very special restaurant reminds me of a small restaurant in San Diego in the 1980's, "Ciao Bella". It was located downtown on 4th Ave., it was also chef-owned. When you dine at a chef owned restaurant you are most likely destined for greatness, or a great meal! This is the case at Angela's Kitchen 'Carbon', because there is pure authenticity in her dishes and a whole lotta' love delivered in each plate. The subtle, warm decor is welcoming and the music is played at the perfect level. Just the right ambiance. Once seated, you'll be promptly greeted and the attentive wait staff will have your wine delivered pronto. What a selection they have. I started with the prosecco and moved on to the Sangiovese which complimented my pappardelle perfectly. My friend ordered the grilled salmon and had the Montepulciano Abate Pietro. The delivery of their fresh bread with garlicky pesto, and another with tomato, which I think was a focaccia. Just amazing. We asked for olive oil to compliment the bread: it was the very best of quality with a dark Sicilian olive green hue and the smoothness with the polyphenols and antioxidants dancing in my mouth. Yum! I asked for a side of Parmigiano and they brought a nice square ramekin full of finely grated cheese, Perfection!! These are the details that make me fall in love with a restaurant, causing me to return again and again. Both of our entrees were executed perfectly, the vegetables were grilled leaving a slight char, and the salmon was grilled just right leaving a tender center. My pappardelle was dressed in the deepest, richest mushroom + beef cheek fusion of flavors with whispers of some kind of red wine like maybe the Nero d'Avola that they feature on the menu. WoW!! This is a dish that you want to take your time savoring. Every bite surpassed the last, and then a sip of the Sangiovese and I was in fresh pasta heaven. Just when we were winding down and reeling from being overwhelmed by the amazing food, Angela came to our table with cannoli. It too was amazing! This was such a kind and unexpected gesture from the chef/owner. Grazie mille, a domani!

We had a party of 15 and from the planning process to the actual dinner, the restaurant made the entire experience feel special and seamless. Our employees absolutely loved it. The views are honestly second to none. Watching the San Diego skyline and water during dinner created such an incredible atmosphere. The service was outstanding from start to finish and the food completely lived up to the hype. I had the lobster mac and cheese and it was unlike anything I've ever had. Rich, flavorful, and worth every bite. Then dessert happened. Our server insisted I couldn't leave without trying the peanut butter brownie ice cream dessert and now I fully understand why. Unreal. I think I need about seven more of them immediately. Highly recommend for celebrations, group dinners, date nights, or anytime you really want to impress people.

Overall: sexy ambiance with live music & a great dinner spot…read more We walked in on on Saturday night at 8 PM after doing some returns at the mall when we were offered a table in the bar area, which was an adorable corner booth. I was really impressed that u had a place to set my feet on because I'm very short and normally have a hard time with regular bar seats. There are a lot of cute touches like that. Hooks to hold your purse, etc. I was loving the soulful music which I thought was from a playlist so I used Shazam in order to capture the song. However, the music started to sound live so I walked around...only to find it was coming from a very talented woman named Marianne across the bar. Service was friendly, but we both noticed other tables were a bit ignored or slow to be served. We ordered a few margaritas. Cesar salad with chicken and the lobster arrabbiata with table-side Parmesan. The food was great. I'm not a big focaccia lover but there's was the best I've ever had. It was warm, light, airy, fluffy, and came with this amazing butter AND olive oil, balsamic rosemary. We used the bread to dip into the leftover pasta sauce. We ordered margaritas. I would definitely recommend the blood orange drink they have on the menu. Shout out to Morgan, who was an amazing server and Marianne whose live music changed my whole mood. You are so talented girl!

He picked the place, and after I reviewed the menu once he had made the reservation, I was excited to dine here. Even though we were seated on the patio, the first thing I noticed is how LOUD this restaurant is...even outdoors. It's even louder inside because I poked my head in just to see what the decor is like. On the patio, it was so loud, we practically had to shout at one another from across the table just to be heard. It is very distracting, and the noise levels contribute overall to a lack of ambiance. Simply stated, the acoustic here are terrible. The second thing I noticed is how EXPENSIVE this joint is, even for an upscale steakhouse. $22 ($18 plus a $4 surcharge for "loaded") for a loaded baked potato? Come on, now. That's outrageous. For my entree, I ordered the 16-ounce ribeye ($74) with a gorgonzola crust ($8 extra), and it came to my table lukewarm because it had been sitting on the hot plate for too long, so I sent it back. If I'm ordering an $82 piece of meat, it better be delivered to me SIZZLING and cooked properly. When my second steak arrived, it was only a little bit hotter, but not much. In addition, the kitchen gave me a piece of beef that was NOT 16 ounces (more like 12 ounces)...and it was riddled with way too much fat/gristle. To add insult to injury, the chef was quite skimpy with the gorgonzola cheese, so I just let it go. What a travesty when a steakhouse doesn't know how to properly cook and serve beef...and then charges guests an arm and a leg for less-than-mediocre food. To be fair to The Amalfi Llama, the manager on duty did come to my table to personally handle my complaint, and she also served the second steak to me herself. In addition, the restaurant removed the steak from my bill, but by that time, the damage had been done. I won't be returning...ever. When it comes to steakhouses, I'd much rather go to Ruth's Chris, Morton's and The Palm any day of the week...both of which are far more consistent and worth the money.

I just felt like it needed one more element to tie everything together. The spicy rigatoni was simple but packed with great tomato and spice flavors. I actually think this dish would've been even better with a meat ragu added to it. The smoked salmon bagel chip was really good; light, fresh, and the salmon was tender and flavorful. The fried capers and thin crispy bagel gave it a fun twist on a traditional bagel and lox. The porcini & pea tortelloni wasn't my favorite. The sauce felt too thick and the pasta was a little too al dente for my taste. The more I ate it, the less I enjoyed it. I really wanted to love the steak and eggs, but the steak was overly salted and hard to enjoy because of it. Dessert was mixed too. The cannoli was delicious; light, crispy, and simple in the best way. The olive oil cake, though, tasted dry to me and the flavors didn't really work together. Not a fan of that one.
