Noa's Cauliflower - the chipotle sauce is

2/28/26: Once again, your humble foodventurer fell victim to the wheel of virtual fortune that is Tik Tok. Enter Bacari North Park! Another win! This place is as new as this review! Soft launched last month & by the experience we had, I'd say it will be a North Park staple. I do recommend reservations, as word is spreading & they fill up quickly. A brisk sunny San Diego Saturday afternoon. What more could you ask for, but a beautiful...oh wait, she's right in front of me...companion with whom to share a lovely brunch?! Ok, I know. You're here for the food. Cue the drinks! My glamorous gal chose the cleverly named Bacarita (the jalapeño with lime kick just right & the hint of basil...who knew?). I chose to "Espresso Yourself," because coffee (you should all know my weakness by now). Thirst quenched. Now for the food! This restaurant boasts a variety of Gluten Free options, which is most of the Brunch menu. Very eclectic, so come ready to experiment with your taste buds, amigo! We decided on the Lamb Hummus & Noa's Cauliflower to satiate the midday munchies. Definitely pleased our palates! To call them appetizers would be akin to calling the Mona Lisa just a painting. The Lakers just a basketball team. You get my point. Live a little! And lastly, but most certainly not in the least, the Chilaquiles! You had me at house made tortilla chips! My spicy señorita & I will most definitely be coming back to explore the funky menu! TL:DR - Life's too short to be boring! Find your fun!

Walked in without reservation and was seated on the patio right away. It wasn't too busy when we arrived but quickly filled up by the time we left. The food was incredible. Each plate was delicious on its own. All together however maybe not the best combo. My favorite out of what we tried was probably the cauliflower and the pork chop. I loved how they added Doritos for the chips as part of the ceviche plate. Def coming back and trying more of their options.

Bacari is a nice spot for a variety of Italian tapas-style dishes. It's recommended you order 2-3 dishes per person as they're on the smaller side, and you can try more options that way. I like the concept of the restaurant and the outdoor seating. It was very dark and loud inside, so I'd recommend booking for outdoor. The staff are accommodating and were able to change my reservation the same day. I was there in the morning and for dinner, so I ended up trying several dishes including the chef's French toast, chicken schnitzel, lamb hummus, bacari fries, egg pizza, shakshouka, the best cake, scallop medallions, margarita pizza, and the Moroccan cigars. I'd recommend the best cake, egg pizza, chicken schnitzel, and Moroccan cigars! All were flavorful and a good portion amount. You could even eat two dishes yourself and be satisfied. Overall, it's a nice spot to try several dishes and enjoy an outdoor patio seating.

Pretty delicious tapas sized food on the pricier side. Good to come here for a treat yourself type of day. Severs are kind and helpful, but it's pretty busy so just call for their attention if they accidentally forget about you. We sat outside, but got to walk around and see the whole two floor building. Quite compact, yet comfortable. Cute view from the second floor balcony.

Our party of 2 made a reservation for a Thursday night at 5:30pm and I'm so glad we did because the place started filling up fast. As with most other establishments in North Park, give yourself enough time to look for street parking. I was able to snag a spot a few blocks away. Vibes: I loved the NOLA vibes that it gives off from the front of the building and from the balcony. The place surprisingly has plenty of space and seating available. All of downstairs is considered outdoor but covered by the patio. The upstairs tables are mostly indoors with a couple tables available on the balcony. There were many 2-4 person tables, some bar seating, and it looked like there was a larger party downstairs. Service: Shout out to Daniel and Amy for providing great service, explaining the menu well, and giving feedback/tips on how much food we should consider for our party size. Food/Drinks: For us two, we ordered 5 plates of food which was plenty and even had leftovers. We ordered -Crudo ($14.50) -Tripoline Pasta ($14) -Charred Broccoli ($13.50): wouldn't order again -Jidori Chicken Wings ($15): 5-6 pieces -Brussel Sprouts ($15.50) If I were to choose my favorites from this selection, I'd say I enjoyed the Crudo and Brussel Sprouts the most (the crème fraiche drizzled on top was delicious). I wasn't completely wowed but next time, I'd like to try out other plates. **Tips** -Make a reservation early -Allot extra time for parking -Consider going with a larger group

Come for the decors and stay for the food. An incredible makeover of the former Urban Solace in North Park. The place is hopping and music is loud. This is not a place for quiet talk, but fun and lively. Servers are friendly and helpful in recommending plate sizes. They say share 2-3 plates per person, but our group of 3 got 6 plates, which was plenty! If you can, save some money and go for happy hour, M-F 5:00-6:00. Less crowded, but the same delicious food and drink choices. Reservations definitely recommended and although street parking is difficult to find in the nearby neighborhood, the parking garage across the street is safe and reasonable.

Unfortunately my group and I had a poor experience last night. I checked in for my 9 PM reservation at 8:55 PM. The outside (and inside) of the restaurant was super crowded. When I checked in for the reservation, the host let me know they were backed up but my party would get sat "in 10 minutes". No worries. We were coming for the 90 minute open bar and needed to be out at 1030 PM for another event. Unfortunately we did not get sat until 930 PM which was an issue. I totally get this was not in anyone's control, but it would've gone a long way to acknowledge how long we waited past our reservation time. (Maybe offer a drink while we waited?). Additionally I would have appreciated a more accurate quote versus underquoting the wait time. Just be honest. Getting sat so late made my group feel stressed because now we only had 60 minutes to drink as much wine as we could from the open bar lol. It's been a consistent trend that the service is very slow, it takes so long to get drinks from the bar. Our food came out before our first round of wine. If you're doing the open bar you should immediately order it when you sit down (we did do this but still took forever). You should also already order the next round when the drinks get dropped off. The last comment is that the food took a while as well. I was on the verge of wanting to cancel the ceviche order because it took so extremely long and we finished eating. We ended up receiving a mac & cheese that had bacon, but the server apologized and had it fixed. Although it took 20 mins for us to get the right mac. I think this place has a lot of potential, it's very cute and the menu is nice. But they seriously need to improve on speed and customer service.

Our lineup included the fresh baguette with garlic olive oil, crudo, Moroccan cigars, Bacari fries, Brussels sprouts, chef's salmon, and pear and brie pizza. The clear standout was the Moroccan cigars; the most Mediterranean inspired dish of the night and easily our favorite. Think of them as a Mediterranean style egg roll: a crispy exterior filled with lamb, chicken, and warm spices, served with a honey garlic glaze and a toum crema dipping sauce that I could genuinely drink. They're worth going back for alone. We also loved the Brussels sprouts, perfectly crispy and topped with a pomegranate molasses crème fraîche that balanced sweet and tangy. The rest of the items were solid across the board, although not especially memorable and I would probably try different items next time. The interior was beautifully decorated, but very dark and quite loud.

Pear and Brie pizza, very tasty but undercooked. Order it well done and it's will be deliciously

My friend wanted to try this new spot in north park. The decor is outstanding, feels like you get transported to New Orleans. I know they are fairly new so I'm not going to be so critical on the service. Our waiter was very new and nice, we didn't get much interaction with him, another waitress stepped in. Let's talk about the food, 3 star The chicken schnitzel was hard a a rock, all breading. It was hard to cut, it was like eating a fried piece of cardboard. The whipped feta and side salad was very tasty. We ordered the olives and almonds appetizer, it needed something else to elevate the dish. The sauce on the olives was fantastic. We also ordered the pear and brie cheese pizza, was good. The pizza could have been excellent if it was cooked a bit more. The flavors were nice but very soggy. My friend had a mule, very delicious. I had a nonalcoholic ginger beer, it had so much ice, I took 3 small sips and it was done. The waitress raved about the best cake, so we ordered it. It was delicious, too sweet for me. I didn't have the bacon with it, maybe the bacon would have cut through the sweetness. Overall, it was okay The food has potential to be great if they fine tune it. I will be back to try their brunch, the selections look great.

I've been to the locations in LA and didn't know they had a San Diego location!!! I made a reservation for my friend's birthday and it was an amazing experience. They brought out complimentary champagne and even offered a dessert on the house! The food was also amazing. I'm so glad that the lamb hummus probably my favorite thing on the menu is consistent at all locations. The lamb hummus is spiced, savory and creamy and the veggies and pita add a nice fresh contrast to the hummus. We also tried the pork chop, scallops, and cauliflower. Everything was well seasoned and super flavorful. The scallops with the carrot puree was buttery, tender and sweet from the carrots. The pork chop was juicy and tender with parmesan crust which added an amazing crunchy texture to the pork chops along with the sweet onions served with it The ambiance was also a 10/10 with low lighting but I will say it was a bit loud and the service was attentive as well. Highly recommend Bacari North Park

One of the best meals I have had in a while! The wait staff are so incredible- I watched the GM Andrew help a father visiting from New York helped surprise his daughter for her birthday... talk about going above and beyond! In addition to the service in ambience being insane, the food was perfect. I was blown away by the portion sizes for two people, we got so much food and only spent $120. I have told all my friends were coming back for the drinks and food options!! Thank you so much Bacar staff for an incredible evening.

Text went out on a Saturday morning. Brunch 11:30 in North Park at Bacari. When we arrived, I thought the place looked familiar. I had been here before. Turns out this is the location of the old urban solace restaurant that was famous for brunch in North Park pre-pandemic. Who got seated on the patio and ordered a couple drinks. for the Bacarita which is tequila, watermelon, jalapeño, basil, and lime. I opted for Lalo as my preferred tequila. The drink was quite tasty and refreshing; a light watermelon margarita. Not syrupy and had a little bit of spicy. The newly opened (Feb 2026) North Park location is one of 9 currently with the other locations all in LA. They focus on Mediterranean and middle eastern influenced dishes done in a small plate / tapas style. We wanted to try as much as possible so we ended up with quite a spread. Bottom line we all really liked what we had. Even the critical things we mentioned and the ranking we did amongst the dishes, we all admitted that all things we had were good and we would order again. Even if we said it was our "least favorite." We started with the egg pizza. What is an egg pizza? We all were curious. We have had breakfast pizzas at a few brunch spots in the past, but I couldn't find any info on it on Yelp. (Don't worry I shared a picture with this review too.) This version is on a thin almost cracker / lavash crust with fromage blanc, caramelized onion, mixed greens, and mozzarella. It was tasty. Not super filling, good to share and the flavors melded well. I was also curious about lamb hummus and we saw it on a neighboring table. The dish is braised ground lamb, spiced lebanese stew, sesame, and tahini served with fresh pita and veggies. I liked it. It got mixed results from some of my dining party, but I liked the flavors. A little on the heavier side we also tried the tofu scramble and the beef bureka. The tofu scramble had the tofu pieces that looked like egg seasoned with a pomegranate sweet chili, mixed with roasted bell pepper, kale, spanish onion, and served with two pieces of grilled baguette. The beef bureka, and forgive the crude description, is kind of a hot pocket but with a much lighter, flakey crust filled with seasoned ground beef, onion jam, cabbage, pistachio, and topped with black caraway seed served with grated tomato and a 6-minute egg hard boiled egg. On a lighter side we tried two dishes. The shrimp ceviche made with citrus, fennel vinaigrette, heirloom cherry tomato, cucumber, flavored with za'atar, sesame, and sumac and served with lime chili chips, we loved the freshness and the flavors. The lime chili chips in contrast to the more citrus seafood and cucumbers was nice. We also tried the crudo barramundi. Which we saw being delivered to another table and had to try it. It is the fish with a herbed cucumber relish, seasoned with za'atar, sumac, lemon, frantoia olive oil, sesame, and salt. While I will miss the old blue grass brunches of its former inhabitant, Bacari has such flavorful dishes it is a worthy replacement and a great addition to the neighborhood.

My friend told me about this place last month, it just opened in Feb 2026. It was completely packed, and I was so glad I made a reservation. The menu is wild, with so many unique and creative dishes. Our server gave me amazing recommendations, so we just went with those, and I was honestly blown away by how fresh and flavorful everything was, the bar kept getting higher and higher. :-) Service was super attentive, they were really on top of it. It was very loud and crowded, but honestly, I can't complain because the food was on point and so delectable. Dish after dish came out, and each one kept impressing me more. The desserts were the perfect ending to an incredible meal. Can't wait to go back and try more items, and when I go to LA looks like have 4 restaurants there too.

I loved my pita bread (it's much different from the Greek style if you haven't tried it before!) and the enjoyed the steak in particular. It had a lot of warming spices (nutmeg and cinnamon maybe?) and the flavor is pretty unique! I added bell peppers, pickled cucumbers, lettuce, tomato, red onion, tahini sauce, and garlic sauce. I also got a piece of falafel - I always gotta judge a place by their falafel and this one was crispy on the outside and soft in the inside which was perfect. The staff is also consistently warm and kind, which makes the whole experience feel good from the moment you walk in. My only real frustration is with the wait times on online orders, and it's significant enough that I have to mention it. I work 10 min away and only get a 35-40 minute break. The app consistently quotes around 20 minutes- but honestly, 20 minutes shouldn't even be necessary. I've stood there and watched them make a bowl. It takes about two minutes. Other similar restaurants have my order ready in five minutes, consistently. So when the app quotes 20 and then I still end up waiting at the 20 minute mark on top of that - in a nearly empty restaurant - something is off. Today this happened (I hit the 20 min mark with no food), and I had to go up and ask them to make my order. This isn't a one-time thing either. It's happened enough times over the years that it genuinely deters me from coming here on my break. To their credit, there was a stretch where it seemed like they had it figured out, so I know they can do it. I just wish that consistency would stick. If you're not on a time crunch, absolutely go. The food alone is worth it. But if you're relying on a quoted pickup time, build in a buffer- a bigger one than you'd think you'd need.
