I recently discovered Nighthawk through Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms, and after seeing all the buzz surrounding this fairly new restaurant, I was excited to finally check it out. We were celebrating a birthday, so I made a reservation through OpenTable and even communicated with the restaurant ahead of time regarding the celebration. Somehow that was not communicated from the app to the host stand. One thing I really appreciated was the communication about valet parking. Parking in Coronado can be extremely difficult, so knowing ahead of time that valet was available for $18 pre tax was fantastic. The restaurant itself is gorgeous! The decor and overall atmosphere are definitely picture worthy, and I can understand why Nighthawk has been getting so much attention across social media. One thing I did notice, however, was the flooring which I found concerning from a safety perspective. There is a lot of marble throughout the restaurant, with small rocks or stones placed between the crevices, I couldn't help but think about the potential safety hazard. So for my girly pops, careful on the choice of heels you wear to this place! Unfortunately, the service really brought down the overall experience for me. Our server started by asking if we wanted drinks, which we ordered. We also asked for recommendations, but unfortunately, she didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about the drink menu. There wasn't much personality or engagement, which was disappointing, especially at a newer restaurant that is getting so much attention. We ended up ordering the Money Trees cocktail, which was enjoyable. For food, we ordered several dishes: - calamari was delicious and definitely something I would order again - baba ganoushch which was really good, although I'm personally not a huge fan of the eggplant aftertaste, so I probably wouldn't order that one again. - steak skewers - carrots The absolute standout for me was the squid ink pasta with lobster. This was SO delicious and easily my favorite dish of the night. I would absolutely order it again and highly recommend trying it. The carrots, however, were a miss for me. The carrots themselves were cooked and sautéed really well, and the cream underneath was tasty, but I was completely caught off guard that they were served cold. When I asked if the carrots were supposed to be cold, her response came across as very dismissive and had an attitude to it. As someone who had never been to Nighthawk before, I was simply asking a question. The biggest issue of the night, though, was the lack of attentiveness from our server. Our water glasses were empty. We had finished our first round of drinks. Our server was nowhere to be found at our table for quite some time. What made it even more frustrating was that we were seated in a row of 3 tables, and she was actively attending to the tables on both sides of us but repeatedly passing right by our table. We were only a party of two, so it was especially noticeable. Eventually, I had to flag down another server and ask them to please get the general manager because we needed more water and our server hadn't checked on us. I also want to give credit where credit is due to the general manager who was on duty during our visit. After I expressed my concerns about my experience, he took the time to listen to me and genuinely hear me out. I appreciated that he didn't dismiss my concerns and that he tried his very best to turn the experience around and make things better. That effort did not go unnoticed, and I truly appreciate him taking the time to address my concerns personally. For me, this was incredibly disappointing because I really wanted to have a great experience here. I can understand an occasional delay or a busy shift, but when you're sitting there watching your server consistently attend to the tables around you while your own table is being overlooked, it really affects the overall dining experience. I wanted to love Nighthawk because the food has some real standouts, the space is gorgeous, and the restaurant has clearly generated a lot of excitement online. Great food and beautiful decor can only go so far when the service doesn't match the experience the restaurant is trying to provide. That said, the lack of attentiveness and the attitude we experienced from our server left a lot to be desired. Oh, also try to get a booth too a small stable is overwhelming and narrow.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I left pretty disappointed. The interior is beautiful and definitely one of the main reasons I wanted to check it out, but the overall experience didn't live up to the atmosphere. We had a reservation for a specific time, yet still had to wait around 20 minutes to be seated. After that, the service was also quite slow. The restaurant was very busy, and it felt like they may have been understaffed or simply overwhelmed. The food itself was very average and nothing really stood out. What bothered me the most was finding actual dirt still attached to the greens served with the scallops. That's definitely not something I expect to find on my plate. The interior and atmosphere are easily the best part of this place. I could see stopping by for a drink at the bar, but based on this experience, I wouldn't choose it for dinner again.

A perfect birthday dinner at Night Hawk! I'm so happy I chose Night Hawk for my birthday dinner. From the moment we arrived, everything about the experience was wonderful -- the ambiance was beautiful, the food was delicious, and our server was amazing. We ordered the lamb chops, beet salad, and seafood linguine. The beet salad was absolutely incredible -- so delicious that I had to come back the next day just to order it again! The lamb chops and seafood linguine were also flavorful and beautifully prepared. Our waiter was so kind and thoughtful. She surprised me with a birthday drink, which made the evening feel even more special. Night Hawk was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday, and I'm grateful I got to spend such a memorable evening there. I can't wait to come back!

I went to Night Hawk for brunch, I made a reservation on open table. I was seated right away once I got the hostess. The place is beautiful! The vibe is super cool, reminds me of a bougie Hawaii. They have a very long drink menu, I wanted a mocktail but they were out of the one I wanted that morning, so I ordered another mocktail which was delicious and refreshing just a little too small. The food was good, I definitely want to try more things. The only bad thing was the service. Our service Bryan was amazing!! Super friendly and attentive, but... they're severely understaffed. I only saw 3 servers in the whole restaurant, Bryan was sweating so much, the poor guy was running from table to table. I don't think it's his fault, I think they need more servers. The table next to us received their food before getting their drinks, they finished their food and they still waited for their drinks. For us it was kind of like that, I ordered the mocktail and my mom ordered an Americano, the coffee got to us once we were already eating our food. Reading the reviews, it seems like it's a recurring issue this establishment has. This place has so much potential, they just need to hire more servers.

Located on the main strip, so parking can be difficult but there is valet service at the front. Despite hung right off the main road, the restaurant felt very cozy. The spaces are designed beautifully. You enter and check in - the girl at the front unapologetically admitted she "forgot" to check us in when I went up for an update on our reservation. Other than that, service was very good. We grabbed our Money Tree drinks from the bar while we waited for our table and lounged by the pool of water. The food and drinks were definitely worth the trouble to get here. We came during Sunday brunch, so the menu was different than what I was expecting. The lox on avocado toast was the best I have ever had. The portion was huge, but the ingredients and presentation was worth the price tag. All the food was delicious.

The weather was nice which made the outdoor seating even better! Right when you walk in, the decor is so beautiful. The stoned chairs were a bit incomfortable to sit in. We came for brunch and enjoyed the brunch menu. All the food was ok. Nothing really blew my mind, great. However, the dishes are pretty good for feeding 2-3 persons so family style is suggested. Our waiter and host were all really friendly and informative.

We came to Night Hawk to celebrate our anniversary, and they made it so special. They surprised us with two complimentary espresso martinis featuring our anniversary year! Such a thoughtful touch that really made the night feel celebrated. Our waitress, Kenzie, was truly amazing. She paid attention to every little detail and the customer service overall was exceptional. They need more waitresses like her! The aesthetic of the place is beautiful too, great vibe for a special occasion. We got the kabob platter and it was delicious. For the price, it's decent, though I wish the sauce options were more generous. You have to pay extra for things like hummus or tzatziki, which felt a little nickel-and-dime for a place at this price point. Overall, would definitely recommend Night Hawk for a girls night out or date night. The service alone makes it worth it!

If you are looking for a trendy restaurant in Coronado, this is for you. The vibes were amazing, I could walk around here for hours and explore all the cool vibes of this restaurant. However, you can tell this is a newer restaurant. I think they need more servers as the service was pretty slow. I have been here a few times and will give it to them, over the past months the food has gotten better, but I will say it's not really "family style" like they say. The spinach appetizer is really small and I think I could eat the pasta, and chicken skewers alone without sharing. Needless to say, overall good experience and will be back.

A friend of mine decided to reserve and try out this restaurant so we went here for the first time. You have to make reservations, the place is packed. I don't even know if they would have sapace for walk ins. Location is challenging for parking since it is only street parking. There is an underground paid parking structure across the street but a bit pricey. Ambiance is a greco-rome decor all throught. You feel like you are back in time in Greece or Rome altough the servers are very dressed up in pink velvet blazers. Super chic contrast. Each detail is very well thought. You also feel like you are in a jungle mixed with fire pits all around. I loved the clash of mixed environment. Service was very good until our dessert which took around 30 min to get a Sorbet. Server apologized and said dessert was on the house due to the wait. That was a nice touch and cherry on top. Food is Mediterranean and a very interesting and delicious choices. We ordered the Baba Ganoush, The Chicken Skewer and the Squid Ink Linguini Pasta. Everything was fresh and delicious. Chicken was super soft. Sizes are perfect, but if you want a Cheesecake Factory size dish this is not the place for that. Portions are decent and you can share a little, but do order a few appetizers to try more. They had some interesting drinks with different splash of flavors. We ordered the Monkey Tree, House Guest, Jungle Bird and Shade with Intent. My favorite was the Jungle Bird. Great for goups, friends and dates. Not really for children. Very fancy place so dress cocktail style to get amazing fotos.

After seeing so many gorgeous Instagram photos, videos, ads on LA websites, YouTube, and Facebook, this place looked way too stunning to pass up as it was so beautifully designed and well thought out! Then I started seeing a wave of 1 and 2 star reviews pop up, all within a span of a few days to a few weeks. That definitely made me pause. There were 4 of us in our party, and honestly, I showed up with very low expectations, wondering if I should even bother going. But the moment I arrived, everything had changed. I was running a little late because parking was a literal nightmare, and I'm not the biggest fan of valet. Those in my party had already been waiting, and while I secretly wished they had started ordering appetizers and drinks, they kindly waited for me, but being famished I really hoped they ordered something. From the second I was seated, our server greeted us with such a warm, welcoming attitude, and the experience only got better from there. The decor, the music, the staff, the energy and everything about this place just kept getting better and better, especially as the sun slowly started going down. The whole atmosphere felt alive, stylish, and fun. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout the meal, the food came out at a great pace, and the flavors were absolutely on point. Everything was delectable, and the presentation was beautiful, almost like little pieces of art with all the colors coming together. We ordered quite a bit, as you can probably see from the photos, and loved so many things: the appetizer sampler, the salads, the kebabs, and especially the unique desserts. Each dish had its own personality, and the whole meal felt exciting from start to finish. There is such a fun, vibrant energy throughout this restaurant and hotel, and San Diego definitely needs more places like this. The Lafayette really set the bar high, and CH Projects, AKA Consortium Holdings, clearly knows how to create unforgettable spaces. I can't wait to come back, try more of the menu, and enjoy the whole experience all over again.

This is my second attempt to fulfill a reservation at this newest installment of CH. It did not disappoint with ambiance which clearly can be seen from the faux plants on the ceiling, to the cascading overflowing waterfalls, to the mirrored glass bathrooms, to the details on the plate settings and silverware. We thought how nice it could be to join for brunch! The items on the menu seemed quite appetizing and the pricing was very reasonable for brunch! I know that this restaurant is new. However, CH Is NOT new to the restaurant and service industry. We got 4 items in our party of 4. The breakfast sandwich came on a large plate that looked as though it was still needed to be plated. The 24 hour soaked French Toast barely was dipped into a batter which was left dry and with no mascarpone. Even after mentioning to the server, it was not fixed. The hotcake which was a full size beautifully decorated "pancake" needed syrup as it was dry. I had asked twice for syrup and nothing came out. For the eggs in purgatory, it was 2 cooked eggs swimming in a skillet with a small pita bread and a beautifully cooked garlic head. It did not come with a spoon or enough bread to soak up the San Marzano tomatoes and its accompaniments. For breakfast- no bacon, no sausage- not many protein options.... hmm? The water glasses were very tiny and often they needed to replace. Why not leave a carafe at the table? I was toying with the idea of drinks but they needed the menu for someone else.... I hope to return one day and hope by then all the kinks are worked out. It was not pleasing to hear that they needed to work on things... if that's the case, open the restaurant when things are all figured out and do not tell your customers that this is your excuse for poor service and management. I came all that way and my friends paid for valet and was left feeling hungry and disappointed. They did take one thing off the bill with no apologies. I truly did want to enjoy our experience as I have at many CH establishments.

Such a cool new spot in the heart of Coronado! It's all outdoor seating and has a Tulum vibe which makes it very fun. The food is Greek style so it's light, refreshing and packed with flavor. A few notables from my trip: we waited a little while for our reservation, but it's a good excuse to check out one of their bars for a drink while you wait. I saw reviews that some people waited 45 minutes, I only waited about 15. the Grand Souvlaki Platter takes a while, so definitely order an appetizer. It took about 45 minutes, but it was so good it made the wait worth it. it is all outdoor seating, so a hot day may have you in the sun and sweating. If you can wait for an evening reservation (maybe 8pm or later) that might be the move. Now for the food & drinks, we each got a glass of Greek wine (they have a great selection), I enjoyed the rosé on a warm afternoon. We started with the fried octopus and just wow, the bean spread was so good and it was cooked perfectly. For our main we split the Grand Souvlaki Platter, it's plenty for two people and comes with two skewers of tenderloin, shrimp, chicken and vegetables. The fresh wood fire pita bread that it comes with is so soft and delicious, I had to keep myself from eating all of it. The dishes had great flavor and what we ordered kept it light but filling, perfect on a warm afternoon. We checked it out for our weekly date night and we were not disappointed! If you're patient and willing to wait for your table and food, this spot is highly worth it. I also have to note they have only been open 4 weeks so some of the waiting may be due to growing pains.

Food 9/10 Ambiance 10/10 Service 3/10 Right off the bat, the ambiance is stunning. This new restaurant took dining with an experience to a whole new level for Coronado. Bathrooms are interesting, very stunning and unique as well, but the handwashing area is communal. That took me a minute to find. There seems to be valet parking available, but for the most part you're left to find street parking. They offer reservations online to avoid the long wait, which I recommend. I would not say it's family friendly. I did not see any seat boosters or room for strollers, this is more of an intimate dining kind of experience, I believe max of 4 people comfortably. My husband and I were briefly in town and wanted to take my mom to this restaurant. The restaurant was getting good buzz on social media and decided to make a reservation. We set the reservation for a Saturday at 3:00pm. Unfortunately, we were not seated until 3:40pm. The hostess sat us with brunch menus instead of their main menu. Our server corrected that and offered us an appetizer on the house. Food was delicious. For the amount of money, I would say the portions are a bit small, but overall presentation was great. The drinks are divine. Their drinks are unique and worth splurging on when looking at the drink menu When it came around the time to pay, our server gave us the wrong check. We ended up paying someone else's tab AND then had to pay our tab. It wasn't until maybe 45min later, after we had left the restaurant did they call us to let us know they voided the first charge. For a great looking place, and great food, it's unfortunate that the service wasn't on par. After reading the other reviews, it seems to be their only issue. I'm hoping the establishment works out these kinks and gets their customer service to match their amazing spot.

Drinks! Adonis on the left and Spanakopita punch on the right.

I had the Avgolemeno soup which was very good, but it was not hot. My husband started with the Horiatiki Village salad which he enjoyed. The salad was good. For my entree, I chose the Athens Market Special. It was a combination of Greek specialties. I thought I was going to need a togo box. But the portions of each item were very small. The Dolmathes was one small stuffed grape leaf. It wasn't very tender and it was very bland. The portion of the Moussaka and Pastititsii were tiny. The loin lamb chop was overcooked and also small. Nothing was hot and I am sure that it would have tasted better if it came out right away. My husband had the wild Alaskan Cod. It was not what he thought he was getting for the price. We expected an excellent restaurant because of the rating. We were extremely disappointed.

Brian opened the door, greeted me and sat me on the quiet side by the window. I popped into the ladies room. Upon returning, Brian asked if I wanted water with or without ice and shared Greek wine recommendations. I had a chance to look over the menu. They offered all the classic favorites. What I was really looking forward to enjoying was the char boiled octopus. I like to order dishes I wouldn't typically cook at home. We also ordered the Pastisio and Lamb chops. We were given the option of bread or pita. We choose bread, it came out hot with butter. The presentation of the octopus made it even more mouth watering. It was swimming in garlicky goodness, warm Kalamata olives all dressed in olive oil. Oh so yummy! Our entrees followed shortly after. Portions were generous, all the food seasoned well and served hot! Though tasty, the Haricot verts were cooked too well for me. I like my veggies more green and still crisp. We had plenty of leftovers to box up. Brian brought out a special birthday dessert with a candle and the other patrons joined in with singing. It was a sweet moment. I got a little rice pudding too! Overall our dining experience was exceptional due to the attentiveness of Brian. He was friendly, very knowledgeable with a splash of humor. I already bookmarked it to return with all my friends. It's not everyday that you find a spot with great food and great service.

A new Mediterranean spot in San Diego? Say less…read more I came here with friends, and it was a first-time visit for all of us. The moment we walked in, the space made an impression. The decor is gorgeous, warm, and stylish, with beautiful blue tones throughout -- which already won me over because blue is my favorite color. Our server, Emily, was fantastic. She was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely added to the experience. Great service can make a good meal better, and she absolutely did that. Now let's talk about the food, because they did not miss. At all. I ordered the salmon, and it was masterfully prepared. Perfect texture, full of flavor, and the sauce was the kind of sauce you keep going back to even after you swear you're done. My friends had the lamb, chicken, and beef plates, and everything at the table looked and tasted like it was made with real care. The salads were crisp and fresh, and the dressings were bright, flavorful, and balanced. And then there was the espresso martini. Honestly? Best I've ever had. No notes. The owners and staff were also genuinely kind and welcoming, which gave the whole experience that extra "we'll definitely be back" feeling. This is officially my new favorite Mediterranean restaurant in San Diego.

The lamb adana was a great sandwich. Solid amount of meat, great flavor and a sauce on the side + great, crispy fries! The service was excellent. She was so attentive, friendly and on top of everything. Music was good too in there & there is plenty of seating, including outdoors! Will be back when in SD

We were initially aiming for the crispy shawarma however only Mira Mesa and La Mesa does it. So I guess that's next on our list! The wraps were unexpectedly big! This is probably the biggest wrap I ever had! Generous with meat and veggies. Their wagyu egg rolls are definitely must have! Falafel fries is really good too! All of these perfectly paired with their garlic sauces. My favorite is spicy lemon garlic! The staff are very knowledgeable about their menu. It's a food truck set up and there's mini standing tables for alfresco dining. SG was definitely lived up to the title #1 restaurant in the country on Yelp!

Not really an ambience since there's not much as far as a dining room. There are a couple of cocktail tables where you could eat. After ordering online at 20:20pm, my estimated pick up time was 8:39pm and got the order at 9:03pm. The cashier informed me their chicken is taking a while and added extra time to the wait. It probably would've been faster if they weren't so backed up. I ordered the Wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate for me and my wife to share. I added 3 falafels and pita bread on top of it. The food was still fresh when I got home 15 mins later. Everything was good and just enough for us two. Also, I'm not sure why there's a range of where they may be located on Yelp since this is just a food truck that seems to be permanent at this location.

Everything was cooked well, but I guess although I like pickles, I'm not as big a fan of Mediterranean pickles. The first bite or two were actually good, but subsequent bites the pickle tanginess was overwhelming and just not so pleasant as I finished it. I thought maybe I'll get it without the pickles next time. However, after eating I got an unexpected headache that usually comes from ingestion of MSG. The fries were tasty... maybe there was MSG in those? Not sure. I've honestly had much better phenomenal shawarma in San Joes CA. I have yet to find a great Shawarma here in San Diego. Feel free to recommend.
