Come to watch sports and drink beer, not to eat with any expectations. They Jamaican jerk burger tasted NOTHING like Jamaican jerk. The smash burger was not a smash burger by definition. SO MUCH (too much) cheese on both. The patties are so small. The buns are stiff and flat. The ribs and wings had so much sauce on them, we had to scrape most of it off. Good beer options and lots of TVs inside.

Nicky Rottens Bar & Burger Joint in Coronado is a fantastic spot for anyone looking for great food, cold beer, and an unbeatable view. Located right on Orange Avenue, this lively sports bar offers a casual and inviting atmosphere, perfect for a laid-back meal or catching a game with friends. The place has a fun, upbeat vibe, with TVs everywhere playing sports, making it a great hangout spot. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when the place gets busy. The beer selection is solid, featuring a mix of local craft brews and popular favorites. The Bac-Avo Burger is another standout, featuring a perfectly cooked patty with crispy bacon and avocado. The portions are generous, and the fries are the perfect side. Fish n chips was another hit. I love the lightly battered fish and crispy fries. I advise you get there early to find parking or you can take the ferry from Downtown San Diego. Whether you're here for a burger, a few drinks, or just to soak in the atmosphere, you won't be disappointed. My hubby and I will be returning and this time for their happy hour Thank you!!!!

Great spot in Coronado for a little hair of the dog after a busy night out in San Diego. My Michelada here was pretty tasty. I love that they use the cutwater Bloody Mary mix. It's so good!

Solid spot for a quick lunch in Coronado. It was easy for 7 of us to get in on a Saturday. Great drink and food menu. We started off with fried pickles, most of us got the Burger with Avocado, my brother did a BYO with bacon and an egg, and we also tried the fried shrimp plate. Will be coming back here when we come to Coronado again!

Great spot to grab a couple drinks with friends and have a nice view of the city. I ordered the Bad A** Chicken Sandwich with sweet potatoes fries. The sandwich was delicious. The serving size was huge. I ordered a margarita and that was also good. The first one was a lot better than the second. The second was a little more on the margarita mix side. The dining area is pretty big. Lots of seating. They also have a ton to TVs so multiple Games on at the same time. Service was good. Street Parking or there was a public lot a block down.

This was taken after I asked them to cook the steak more.

Our visit to Nicky Rottens was a huge bummer. I ordered the nachos because they looked so good on here and the reviews were awesome. When they came out it looked nothing like the pictures. The steak was really undercooked and looked like it had been sitting out a while. It was in big slices too so I had to ask for a plate so I could cut it up. I asked them to cook the steak more and they did. There was no sour cream or guacamole on the nachos. When I asked for it on the side they said they don't even have sour cream. The queso and salsa that it came with left the chips really soggy and watery. They were not good at all. My husband ordered a cob salad and added chicken for $8. When it came out it was almost half the size of what they used to serve. It was a $30 salad after adding the chicken. When we asked why all the food was different, they said they changed the menu 3 weeks ago to cut down on food waste. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because my daughter liked her chicken tenders and the service was fine. Our dinner ended up costing over $100 after tip. We didn't even get any drinks besides water or desserts. Such a waste of money. I would not go back here again.

Came with the family and got wings, burgers, and salads! Best burgers in town! Love how soft the burger buns are and everything tasted so good! We come every time we are on this side of the bridge! Loud ambience and big groups of people, a fun time! Highly recommend the wings, do half buffalo-half bbq sauce best wings here! And not usually a bbq wing fan but their bbq sauce is too good to pass up!

I came to Nicky Rottens and ordered the Mai Tai along with the smash burger and tater tots -- and wow, everything was on point! The smash burger was sooo freakin' good -- super juicy with perfectly melted cheese. The tater tots were crispy and cooked to perfection. And the Mai Tai? Perfectly balanced, just the right amount of alcohol, a little sweet, and honestly one of my favorites I've had. I loved everything. Definitely a 10/10 experience! Customer service was top notch!!!

Helpful and friendly service for our very large party. We had appetizers and drinks and one person ordered food The fries were so good! They tasted battered. Sports bar meets ocean cafe, albeit very large. Reasonable prices for Coronado too.

We did not have a reservation, so we stood outside in the sun for about 30 minutes or so waiting for a table that could accommodate 8 people. I didn't plan the event myself, so I don't know if they even take reservations. If they do, then that's our fault. It is an open air concept, so it's very hot in the restaurant. You sit on hard chairs with a bicycle under the table that limits leg room. There is no shortage of hillbilly music to listen too as you dine on the ill seasoned subpar food. The beer menu sucks. Thankfully I didn't need to use the restroom. Who knows what I would have encountered there. The only positive thing I can think of is that the employees are friendly and accommodating. I would not recommend this place to anyone, nor would I return. If the restaurant offered to pay for a meal with drinks for our family, I still would not return.

From the moment we walked up, you could feel the energy. Novo is part restaurant, part sports bar, part massive block party, and somehow it pulls all three off perfectly. High-quality LCD screens are everywhere, so there's actually not a bad seat in the house, whether you're on the sprawling patio or enjoying the spacious indoor area. The vibe is electric without feeling chaotic, and it's family-friendly too. The food and drinks matched the energy. Every dish we ordered was packed with flavor, and the cocktails were clearly crafted with care. There's something for everyone on the menu, which made ordering for our group a breeze. A tremendous shout-out to Madison, who took great care of us and made the entire visit feel personal, attentive, warm, and just plain fun. Honestly, the entire staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, and happy we were too. Add in free, easy parking, and Novo checks every box. If you haven't been yet, go. The ambiance is beautiful, very bright, and the patio is by far the restaurant's biggest attraction. Unfortunately, the service and, most importantly, the food were extremely disappointing. The prices are very high for food that is well below average in quality. The restaurant promises a Brazilian experience, yet the flavors are reminiscent of another cuisine entirely. The food was expensive, bland, and lacked the warmth and magic of authentic Brazilian cooking. The only thing truly Brazilian seemed to be the branding and decor. The most frustrating part is not the high price tag but the fact that the experience did not come close to justifying it. As a Brazilian, I would not recommend this place and I will not be returning. Our server, Allison, disappeared as soon as she realized we had complaints. She never came back to ask if we needed refills or if there was anything she could do to improve our experience. When asked who had prepared the food, she stated that it was a Brazilian chef. Unfortunately, she happened to be serving a Brazilian family that knows its own cuisine and found it difficult to believe that a native Brazilian would present such a poorly executed representation of it. In the end, the food was a major disappointment. If you're simply looking for a pleasant atmosphere to spend time with friends, this place may be worth considering. However, if you're seeking an authentic Brazilian dining experience and food that justifies the premium prices, you will likely leave as disappointed as we did.
