Our breakfast at Bubba's was phenomenal. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs (over easy) and thought it was one of the best I've had. (Their gravy was great.) I ordered the chicken strip dinner and it was at best mediocre. Tastes exactly like my college dining hall's chicken tenders. The Mac and cheese is bland, and more like Mac and cheese soup. Wow, not bad food, but I have to say the service tonight for dinner was less to be desired! Beware to anyone ordering a salad with your meal, as I shared one plate of salad with my Six year old, and the waiter charged me for two and would not take the charge off an $80+ dollar bill, and stated that to be a policy, in i totally understand, however would like to point out that it was one plate of lettuce, that included 4-cucumbers, 2 cherry tomatoes a pinch of grated cheese , and a small scoop of ranch dressing, furthermore this salad bar at peak dinner time had many items that were empty as well. Very sad to charge $12 for plate of lettuce. I do hope the manager or owner reads this and coaches their staff as I would never come back and hope others think twice about having a meal here. The food was fine, but the server was surly. She apparently interpreted my request for gluten-free bread as a demand, which it wasn't - I just hadn't read the entire menu. Ate at Bubba's last night and got the Rib combo with baked beans and Mac n cheese. Was a great choice because I got to taste both the St. Louis and the baby back ribs, which both fell off the bone and were cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this for dinner to anyone, lunch would be tough for me because it is great food and even better to help induce a sleep coma afterwards! We came here for breakfast, and we were a little skeptical because who goes to a BBQ place for breakfast? But it was recommended by a local, so we tried it. We were not disappointed. They had really good service, and the food was outstanding. It was like the comfortiest-comfort food. The portions are giant-sized, and considering the size, this place is cheap. The biscuits are the size of your face. It's ridiculous. My hollow-legged son got a half order of biscuits and gravy and could only eat about a quarter of it. My dad had the most beautiful French toast (again, a half order that couldn't be finished), my mom had a biscuit sandwich (also unfinishable), and I had a veggie skillet with two poached eggs (it was divine...and I finished it). My husband said "This is the best corned beef hash I've ever had in my life." (Also finished, but miserable after). Our coffee cups never got even close to empty, and our waitress chatted us up and gave us some good tips for hiking trails in Grand Teton Park. This place was fantastic. read more

I ate here this morning. My waitress was rude to the other people eating with me. She kept on giving our table looks and rolling her eyes when one of us changed our order (in a simple manner; she just wanted a biscuit instead of an English muffin). The oatmeal was pathetic: it was cold and tasteless even with the amount of (unsoftened) brown sugar it came with. The Belgian waffle was simply not a Belgian waffle. No wonder the locals quit going to Bubba's. I often found myself as a local as well stopping here after a day of ice fishing. Now I will never set foot in here again! Prices have gone up at least 30%. I used to order a side of bacon with my meal and they would give you 4 strips of bacon now only 3. Service was horrible. I finished my first cup of coffee before they took my order (2/28/2015). I had the biscuits and gravy and it barely had enough gravy to cover the biscuits. I almost wanted to ask for more.The new owners need a wake up call!! This place sucks!!!!!!!! Bubba's has been disappointing lately. We have lived here for a long time. The hash browns at breakfast are dried out. The fries are awful and the hamburger buns are now so big you can't taste the hamburger. Our office ordered the BBQ Beef for a party and it was so smokey it was almost inedible. So bring back bring back bring back the Bubba's to me. Don't make it into another restaurant, keep the staff and keep the food. Improve on what was not working and leave the rest alone. read more

I never like leaving less than 4-star reviews, as I full y realize that my tastes aren't like everyone else's but I guess this is the whole purpose of the YELP review, just to see what others think. To create a bit of back story, we were in JH for a nice weekend getaway, and it delivered, we had a great weekend. On Saturday we went up to Jenny lake and had a nice little 9-mile run. No big deal, right? Well, I haven't run more than 2 miles at a time since AUGUST, so by the time we got to Bubba's I was in a little bit of discomfort. So, my ability to assess good food MIGHT have been a bit off, but I eat enough BBQ to think I have a pretty decent palate when it comes to delicious animal flesh. So, IMHO, the only thing that was REALLY good here was the service. Our server was great. She was attentive, answered all questions without being snotty, and kept our drinks full. The food was WAY average, though the brisket and buttermilk pie was good. And brisket is always my go-to choice at BBQ places anyway. If I had just gotten that, I'd totally go 4 stars (The salad bar looked a lot better than it actually was, so that was a tad disappointing, but we were in a BBQ place, so what did I really expect???) Anyway, I did like their house BBQ sauce mixed with a little of their jalapeno sauce, that was really good on the brisket and pulled pork. The chicken was a touch dry and the baby back ribs were boring. Of course I ate it all anyway, because it's meat, and I was starving, but I've had better. At least the prices were good so I wasn't upset or anything. Barbecue done right. Hubby has raved about this place from his visit 30 years ago and boy was he right. Great salad bar with everything fresh and delicious and the barbecue does not dissapoint. Excellent service, place was packed when we walked in; got seated and had our order taken within the first few minutes. Great food as well, I ordered the smoked turkey and it was moist and delicious. We stopped in to Bubba's sort of on a whim, after driving around town and not seeing anything else that particularly struck our fancy one evening. We were seated prompty, yes at a picnic table but it's a barbecue place people, not chez-fancy-pants. The wait staff was very friendly, they allowed us enough time to peruse the menu without feeling abandoned and even offered a couple of suggestions when we asked. I had the salad bar and some delish chili. My husband had a sort of chopped meat and bbq sauce sandwich which he enjoyed very much. I think alot of the folks who previously reviewed Bubba's haven't been there recently because they most certainly do have beer, a pretty good variety too. The price was good, the food was good, we left satisfied. read more
