This tiny little dining room in Eureka that is planted in full view of what looks like a massive brick wood burning oven is a reason in itself. ADVISAL: Make reservations! We did but there were many people who did not. Their loss. Not sure you like calamari? You will when you try their ridiculously tasty stuffed calamari. Tender tubers stuffed with a shrimp and bread crumb mixture served on a swipe of tangy yellow pepper sauce with fried capers. One of their signature dishes is their brick oven roasted chicken. I can see why. It was crispy and tender at the same time. We had some excellent desserts here as well. As I said, the dining room is small and they get busy but we never felt rushed. read more

I'll post this for two places: Brick & Fire and 2 Doors Down Reservation: I would recommend calling before your visit, just to make sure you got a table for you and your family/friends. The restaurant is not huge but cozy and nice for quality time. Reservation was easy and they are very responsive to phone calls. The website I hope they improve it in the future. Food: we are Vegetarian-Pescatarian so we do not no have meat experience. The food was fine, we enjoyed the variety of flavors we got, and I would say this is a mixed cuisine - Italian, Spanish or Mediterranean. I would describe it as Tuscan cuisine but this is only my interpretation from the food presentation. One dish we did not like was the Wild Mushroom Cobbler - was not really what we expected. Did not like it so much, juts personal taste. For drinks, they had nonalcoholic beverages so we got the house made ginger ale and black cherry soda. The ginger ale had a flat flavor in my opinion for a ginger ale. The restaurant was fully booked for the hour we wanted to visit so we were seated at their 2 Doors Down as they are an extension of each other. Was on a roadtrip and stumbled upon this place on yelp! Reviews looked great and we gave it a try. The place's design is very outdated, like you just walked somewhere which just opened in 1984 or so.. a pot of curtains that don't serve any purpose and decir that is not cohesive but im trying not to judge too much on that. As far as the service it was great, the people are super nice, smiling all the time and very helpful so the staff is 10/5. The food though is just okay. The prices are very high if you ask me for what you get, portions are insanely small for the price point and the food is just okay. Best thing we had was the mushroom cobbler. We left hungry to say the least and spent around 160$. I only had 1 beer so all of this amount is on food. Not sure if there is anywhere better in Eureka but i did leave hungry so spending 100$ could have felt better for the amounts of food you get for this price point. read more

Eureka's best restaurant is a great meal with great service and excellent food (and wonderful options for the gluten-free crowd). The price is fair, given the quality of the cuisine, and everything works well. It's a beautifully-appointed restaurant with a lot of small flourishes, and the bar seats are a great spot to look at the oven. read more

Cute little dinner spot in Eureka with a creative menu. We got the lamb & chanterelle stroganoff, peach and pancetta pizza, and oysters. My favorite dish was the grilled oysters which tasted very fresh with an amazing sauce! One of the oysters were tiny so the waiter gave me an extra - so nice and appreciated since it was delicious! I last visited 5 years ago. Since then this restaurant has really improved all the aspects of the dining experience. The menu has notably expanded and is full of creative an delicious options. Lots of ingredients and love in every dish. Nowadays you can taste and sense when the love is a missing ingredient in the food or the restaurant. Nothing plain and simple here. I had the flank steak with potatoes which was nothing short of amazing. My wife had the polenta and chicken. I think it was possibly the best polenta I have ever eaten. It was absolutely delicious. Hubby and I like trying new places to eat. We decided to go to Brick & Fire. We were about 30 minutes early but the hostess put us down for the 5pm opening for dinner. It was well worth the wait. If you ask me now, I honestly don't remember what we ordered. I think they change their menu. The place is small but very nice. Everything is made fresh. I can vouch for that because one would have to walk through the kitchen to get to the restroom. Be careful though. The floor in the kitchen can be slippery. I saw this guy going in the fridge to get some fresh veggies. This place is worth a try. I don't think you will be disappointed. read more

So few places I found while traveling and working in Eureka. Most folks do fast food or the few restaurants next to Bayshore Mall. This place is a few blocks of the the beaten path and in an older neighborhood. It's not the easiest to find...but worth it!!! If you want to google it on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives you can see more. By far best place I've eaten in past decade. A bit pricey, but the quality of the Pizza is awesome and it's cozy and enjoyable...perhaps for a date or family dinner. I've had 3 or 4 different meals and ALL were great. Ordered a pizza from Rick and fire and it was OK. I will say that the dough is really really good for me. The donut pizza makes it. The ingredients just tasted bland... Not bad not good was just OK. My wife & I with friends drove from the Bay just to eat at this establishment. It was worth 7 hours on the road to have dinner there. The Mushroom Cobbler was to die for, the blackened trout & the lasagna was delicious as well. I would do the trip again just to tasted their baked oysters.
