The greeter was accommodating and friendly, and our waiter was excellent. My wife asked for a "quiet spot" because I have phobia in loud places. Under normal circumstances I would have just walked out when I saw/heard the place, but we were at the end of our rope in finding a place to eat and we were very hungry. When my wife asked about a quiet place, the greeter kindly offered a place behind the activity and asked if that would be ok...then offered to turn off the music to the section that we were seated in. The waiter was professional and helpful. The fish and chips, and tacos were excellent, and I got to try a beer flight, so I'll know which of their beers to buy where I live. Usually my wife and I differ on the size of the tip, and she started to try to talk me into a lower tip, but stopped herself and said that the greeter was so helpful, and the service so good that she agreed that a larger tip was warranted. ...I almost decided not to come here at all because I was irritated by learning about the 3% fee they add to your bill...but I'm really glad that I wasn't so close-minded. read more

We initially wanted to come here for lunch on a Saturday, but the place was packed! The host said it would be a 45 minute wait, so we went elsewhere for our meal and came back to try their drinks. Even after eating lunch, the place was still crowded. If you're not ordering food, you can grab a seat at the bar. My friends and I shared the flight. They had a lot of interesting flavors to choose from, and the bartender was very helpful with his recommendations. We were also able to get a seltzer as part of the flight. We also ordered nachos to share with our group. The nachos were loaded and were the perfect snack to go with the beers. Service was excellent! The inside of the restaurant felt very homey. Came here while we were in town for some food and drinks. The building itself is rustic looking. It looks like it's been there for hundreds of years. Inside you find a lot of seating and quirky decor. Staff was very friendly and helpful making recommendations and served us quickly. We ordered Jalapeno poppers, an elk burger, Navajo chicken sandwich and shark bait taco. Food was really good the Navajo chicken sandwich was so good, simple but flavorful and the popperd were spot on. The poppers had the perfect spice to cheese ratio. Both a local and tourist favorite - you can't not stop in and grab a good meal, some local beer, and cool swag to take home. Always get at least a #1 of wings (original-the best you'll ever have). Any burger or sandwich or salad is great, the nachos can def be shared with a couple people, and always check the specials board. Family friendly, can be loud but in a crowded kinda way. Plenty of parking in back. Could use a bigger tv w better sports choices on but that's the worst of it. As a starter we enjoyed the clam chowder and the special Philly cheese steak soup, both were delicious. Entrees enjoyed at the table included the shrimp tacos, chicken lips, and fish tacos, which were beer-battered and fried to perfection. The seasoned soy strip tacos were great and the Carnitas tacos were complemented by their house-made salsa. We also had the jambalaya that needed some more rice or a thicker consistency. I'm a huge fan of Lost Coast Coast beers, so I was ecstatic when I came across the brewery in Eureka! The food was fantastic. I had the famous hot brown with dipping sauce. My table mates enjoyed their cheeseburgers and Navajo chicken sandwiches. So tasty! It was lunchtime so it was very crowded, but we still had great service. As for the beers, so many great options, and you can even get a sampler. The decor is cool and eclectic, exactly what you would imagine. We were sat down quickly on a Sunday for lunch, but it took a while for the server to come say Hi. She was obviously busy and did her best, but food took a while to come out. Food portions here are HUGE. So glad we did a burger and salad. We like going to the taproom, but there's no food there so I'm glad this downtown location has good food. I really don't like that they tack on a 3% service charge. This is disclosed on the menu, but I would prefer if they would just increase the food prices to be more transparent. From the moment you walk through the door, you'll be met by friendly service. Our hostess Julie had us seated immediately, however we ended up at the bar. Nate was our bartender for the afternoon and was amazing. He was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the food and of course the beer! Glad we stopped by for a quick bite to eat today. Pretty cool place for ipa and burgers. Good serving size and on pointe with our instructions to make the fries well done crispy. I have to say the bread of our burgers didn't fall apart and didn't get soagy which means that the bread was dense and good bread for the hamburger and to hold the large pickle slices, green chilies and jalapeños as well as lettuce and tomatoes. I'm sure many love your establishment. However I know of far more that agree with me. Not locally, but across the US. I've been coming for over 20 years, each time it has become more unpleasant than the last. Whether that was the food (I've had literal bugs in) to beer that has passed its prime (perhaps while brewing, improper sanitation or just plain skunk). Even though after 5 years, we haven't been come to this iconic place, we greeted by 2 people long time lovely she is bartender now and amigo. We ordered 2 chicken lips with 1 seasoned fries 1 regular fries, and jambalaya. Boy I read the reviews before I came 2 days ago, it's totally going down the hill. My in law said Seasoned fries used to be delicious and crispy hot! Now the fries taste flat and cold! The chicken lips still good no complaints from them. Jambalaya is Overly salty I add the bbq sauce that came with chicken lips to balance the flavors and I added ice cubes to thin the salt. We arrived and were seated at the bar. We ordered food right away and a beer each. Our food took well over an hour and there was never an update. When we eventually asked if we could be seated at a table, since many had opened up. We did that. When the elk burgers came they were absolutely fantastic! It was cooked perfectly and was absolutely fabulous. The side salad that I got with it was also exceptional. The vegetables were fresh and unique. Sunday's suck in here. They won't take reservations. Everyone working but our server was completely incompetent. We came in at 6. Party of 8. The restaurant was half empty. They wouldn't seat us for 45 min. Saying we had to wait for a table to be done the 4 top had just sat down didn't even have beers yet. They wouldn't even ask them to move to one of the other 6 4 tops available. Our server was awesome she took matters into her own hands and made room for us in one of the empty areas. I should have written this review so many years ago when this brewery was really good. What happened? This was our third time drinking/dining here and it has really changed. We discovered this place way back on our honeymoon in the 90's so we have returned a couple times while in the area and always had a great experience. There beers used to be incredible but now they have followed the IPA trail and they quit pouring my favorite brew which was the Alleycat Amber Ale. This was an award winning beer and you stopped producing it?? The only beer they have left that is worth drinking is the Downtown Brown which is nice and nutty. Food was also a miss for us. We arrived during HH and ordered a special appetizer which managed to come out that same time as our food. We took two bites and yuck! I ordered the shrimp tacos thinking this might be a win since we were on the coast, but no the shrimp was deep fried instead of grilled plus the tortillas used were flour instead of corn. Just plain disappointing. My husband tried the Famous Hot Brown sandwich. Although not a traditional Louisville Kentucky style hot brown nevertheless a generous effort with fresh roast beef and a side salad. Service was good, and the brewery still looks the same inside. As a local I go to lost coast like once a year, and am reminded why. This last time was really the worst. It was a busy weekday night with trivia. I will list the issues in order they happened. We sat down at the bar and asked for a menu, she gave us one. While the bartender was pouring drinks, she was on the phone face timing with someone. The fries were okay, but super salty. We ordered another drink, I was super grossed out how she touched the rim of the glass. The food took about an hour. My burger was desert dry. Even the bartender noticed. DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING!!!! I was so excited to celebrate my birthday at Lost Coast Brewery & Café--we drove to Eureka specifically for this place 12/7/25. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, the person who helped us was rude and dismissive. I understand people have bad days, but her attitude was unacceptable. When I simply asked if they had cider, she laughed and caught an attitude. I requested a sample of a strawberry option they had on tap, and when I then asked to order that drink, she said, "I'm sorry, I can't possibly remember everyone's drink when I pour drinks all day." That comment was disrespectful and unnecessary. As a human being that works with the public, it's a no brainer to say that is not how you talk to people...perhaps something along the lines of "Remind me what that was again"....I could never imagine talking to people that way. The best part though, is that while charging us--despite saying she couldn't remember everyone's drink--she somehow remembered my husband's order just fine. The inconsistency and tone were frustrating and soured the entire visit. We only came to Eureka for this spot, and it turned into the worst birthday experience. I had hoped for a fun, friendly celebration, but the service made it anything but. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this location based on how we were treated. read more

We hadn't been in years so decided to swing by for lunch. The food is great - I ordered the Navajo Chicken Sandwich with garlic fries and loved every bite of it. Unique combination of flavors and a good sized portion. Husband enjoyed his fish and chips. Beers were good. So. The service. We sat down, quickly ordered, and our one appetizer took a half hour to arrive. Entrees were another half hour after that. The table next to us was sat (and ordered) just before our appetizer arrived, and their entrees arrived a solid 15 minutes before ours. Zero explanation for why our food was so delayed. And hour for food to arrive is frustrating. And the cost. It was NINETY DOLLARS for lunch for two. One appetizer, two entrees, three beers, and a root beer. NINETY DOLLARS. Food costs have gone up and I've accepted that my restaurant bill is higher nowadays. However, $90 for lunch at a brewpub is insane. Finally, what brewery charges $7.25 per pint of their own beer? I can get a six-pack of it for a few dollars more at any local store. read more

They have creepy-cute, very creative decor, lots of drink options (tons of good beers of course, but also reasonably priced wines, hard cider & non-alcoholic refreshments) and good food. It's pub food, but if you want something a bit healthier, you can have a really nice salad as your side instead of fries, with no up-charge!
