My friends and I came here for their New Year's Eve 5 course dinner plan, and let me tell you that it was soo delicious. Each round came out amazing and the server was really nice as well. A super chill place to drink and eat and just hang.

Cornish game hen cooked on a brick providing some crispy parts but still very juicy and flavorful.

We called brick and fire but they didn't have an opening and we were pretty last minute. However, they were able to see us at our desired time at their restaurant extension called 2 doors down which is very close to the main restaurant. The same menu so everything you would want to brick and fire is available here. The wine bar is a little bit quieter than the main restaurant as it is smaller. The wait staff is extremely attentive which is great because I drink a lot of water and my cup needs to be refilled often. The food was absolutely delicious. I got the "brick" bird, a Cornish game hen cooked on a brick and it was very tasty and juicy. The sauce was delightful. The rice was flavorful with many additions but not over complicated. I was having dinner with colleagues who were working in the area and we all agreed it was a great find. We also had the special raspberry crème brûlée and I got to tell you that is worth every bite. Excellent dessert.

Two doors down is a extension of Brick and Fire restaurant but in a more quaint, small, wine bar setting, not coincidentally two doors away. At both of my experiences here, they served the entire Brick and Fire menu as well as special wine offerings. This is my second visit over two years and between this location and the adjacent Brick and fire, it is still easily the best and most consistent restaurant in a eureka that I have been to thus far. Many of the standard dishes me here are impeccable, like their signature wild mushroom cobbler (which is not to be missed if you love mushrooms). It has that refined, creamy, buttery, garlickiness of shiitake mushrooms slow cooked with sweet wine and herbs which delights all corners of the palate. The flank steak is perfectly cooked with a nice char but succulent tender inner meat. The fig and pig brick oven fired pizza is just as delightful as you would imagine the salty sweet, chewy deliciousness it promises to be. This time around I sampled the local oysters, which are kumamotos from right here in Humboldt bay; small but flavorful nuggets on the half shell that are roasted on the half shell with a gorgeous carmelized shallot and lemon beurre blanc with smoked Chile. Don't let the Chile deter you-- the spice is negligible but subtly adds to the superb flavor. I could literally drink the sauce all day if I could. It paired wonderfully with the Rose of Pinot Noir. Finally I sampled the Kobe beef carpaccio, which is served with baby arugula, fried capers, lemon, shaved parmigiana, and truffle oil. It was perfectly fresh and tender, melt in your mouth. I are it with some of their house made bread which was delightful.

Cozy little wine bar with a far-from-tiny wine list. When we walked in it was pretty full, and while we couldn't get the attention of the lady working behind the wine bar, the people eating there were friendly enough to let us know they all just sat down and she would come by. Another table was kind enough to pass us their drink menu while we were waiting for service. Food was AMAZING and I look forward to visiting for their next Monday Night Polenta Special. Make sure to save room for dessert as you can order from their sister resturant Brick and Fire's menu.

We ate here when we had called to make reservations at Brick & Fire but were told they were nearly full. 2 Doors Down has the same menu so we decided to dine there. Very small & cozy inside but the service was amazing & the food was just as great. Cameron was our bartender/server. We started with the beet salad & the Carpaccio. Both were excellent. I ordered the Fig & Pig Pizza & my partner selected the Margherita Pizza. Both did not disappoint. I highly recommend this little spot. They even have a "wine corner" where you can pick up higher end labels like Turnbull for a discounted price. We will definitely be back.

We are fans of the restaurant two doors up from this wine bar, but had yet to visit TDD. As it is usually busy or we have been. After a long day, we decided to give them a try recently on a Saturday early evening for some wine and snacks. They open at 4:30, we arrived about ten to five and the place was empty except for Allison the bar tender. I found the environment extremely quite and relaxing and after the long day we had had it was perfect by my wife and I. The featured list of wines, both white and red, was short and to the point. Offering a half a dozen or so of each, in various varietals, ranging from around $7-$11 a glass and our bar tender made sure that it was a very generous pour with each glass (offering us tastings of anything we requested as well). For our evening starter snack we decided to split the Mushroom cobble, it was quite tasty, served in a small custard sized crock the cobbler crush was tender flaky with a nice golden brown finish and buttery flavor. The mushroom filling was nicely seasoned and loaded with thinly sliced criminis. All in all, a yummy start, only wish it had been a bit larger. We asked for a recommendation from Allison - her suggestion - the Cab Franc blend from Paso Robles - '12 Nine Wine Estates at $10.50 for a nice pour. This red was a great choice - a fully bodied, smoky, cherry-berry red, full of spice and chocolate. A winner that does not disappoint. After checking out the menu, we opted for the Classic Italian white crust Margherita pizza - fresh chopped basil, tomato coulis, fresh 'fior di latte' mozzarella, roasted pine nuts, baby grape tomatoes and Parmesan cheese. After approximately a 15+/- minute wait from ordering - our pizza arrived. A perfectly baked crust, with fresh ingredients, and great flavor profile - the toasty crunch of the pine nuts with the sweetness of the tomato coulis against the salty buttery Parmesan - delicious. After our yummy pizza and a second glass of the Cab Franc, over the next leisurely 40 minutes or so - we decided we needed something sweet. My girl choose the Salted caramel creme burlee' - her words pure heaven. My self, I settled on the Chocolate marscapone cheesecake - this is pure chocolate awesomeness. We choose to accompany this yumminess with a couple glasses of a lovely Tawny Port they had on the shelf at $6.50 a glass - a great way to finish a extremely enjoyable early evening of wine and snacks. The evening, two glasses of wine each, a split starter, pizza, two desserts and ports - $115 with a nice gratuity. A solid 4 Star evening. 00105

Best wine bar around. The friendly staff are only part of what makes 2dD so fun. The wine selection is out of this world!

Then I wanted/needed another night cap so we ended here ,where there was another party happening!! Quality/Quantity - Simple menu done well. Better if you have been drinking the whole evening as I have been. See menu on website of "Nibbles" offered. Or check out my pictures. See picture of snack table. I noticed many people did NOT know this was available, and ordered their own nibbles(identical type of snacks). I basically ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. And as I walked around taking my Yelp pictures, I noticed the snack table, thank you. Atmosphere - What a huge location. The actual lounge was just okay in size, but they are connected to the historic Eagle House and I did not know where the businesses started or ended. Indoor/outdoor dining. Not sure what event was happening today, but there was a live DJ, snacks, etc. Not sure if it was open to the public...? Or if I crashed another party? Either way, I had a great time. Just checked your website; cut and pasted: "Tropical Vibes Happy Hour with DJ RunDat & DJ Spadafora - Join us for some tropical vibes at Phatsy Klines Parlor Lounge, enjoy some delicious cocktails and tasty treats. DJ RunDat & DJ Spadafora will be playing Afro beats with some Latin & Reggae Vibes sprinkled in the mix. Free all ages event." Service - Crazy busy, but they still did a good job managing the crowd. Price - $12 + generous tip. Owner Comments - Congrats on your success since 2017 and sorry to hear about the closure of your sister restaurant Tavern 1888. I was looking forward to visiting them also.
