Good music, good vibes. People are nice and there's dancing, drinks. Been here a few times and always had a fun experience.

The Bartender was nice and attentive. The band was great (don't remember the name of the band unfortunately).

Then I wanted/needed another night cap so we ended here ,where there was another party happening!! Quality/Quantity - Simple menu done well. Better if you have been drinking the whole evening as I have been. See menu on website of "Nibbles" offered. Or check out my pictures. See picture of snack table. I noticed many people did NOT know this was available, and ordered their own nibbles(identical type of snacks). I basically ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. And as I walked around taking my Yelp pictures, I noticed the snack table, thank you. Atmosphere - What a huge location. The actual lounge was just okay in size, but they are connected to the historic Eagle House and I did not know where the businesses started or ended. Indoor/outdoor dining. Not sure what event was happening today, but there was a live DJ, snacks, etc. Not sure if it was open to the public...? Or if I crashed another party? Either way, I had a great time. Just checked your website; cut and pasted: "Tropical Vibes Happy Hour with DJ RunDat & DJ Spadafora - Join us for some tropical vibes at Phatsy Klines Parlor Lounge, enjoy some delicious cocktails and tasty treats. DJ RunDat & DJ Spadafora will be playing Afro beats with some Latin & Reggae Vibes sprinkled in the mix. Free all ages event." Service - Crazy busy, but they still did a good job managing the crowd. Price - $12 + generous tip. Owner Comments - Congrats on your success since 2017 and sorry to hear about the closure of your sister restaurant Tavern 1888. I was looking forward to visiting them also.

The music is great. Every time I've been, the bearded fella was manning the music. Good punk and hardcore playing, now that's the vibe I need. There's one regular who's over the top and will speak with you whether you want or not. That's part of the fun. I felt comfortable as a queer person here. Best bar in eureka hands down.

Was pleased to see (leave names out starts with M bald older gentleman) bartender who was just starting when last visiting almost 5 years prior. I always enjoyed talking to him but things have changed in the years mostly due to insane amount of bartender drama within the business itself which Is all available to read on Reddit. So after trying to have a conversation only to be ignored multiple times kind of pissed me off so just tipped like 15% when I normally do 30% or 50% and left a note. To which I was planning on apologizing but before could even say anything said smart ass comment about me leaving a note about him ignoring me and refused any kind of service. Cool place and environment but bartenders are easily most emotional employees at a bar I have ever experienced in my life and like I said all the drama is on Reddit. Sals is another great LGBTQ option if you rather not be involved in drama or making friends with bartenders.

I found this restauraunt on Yelp and we reserved it for my birthday dinner on a Saturday night. We sat by the window and had a beautiful view of the sunset and bay. Upon being seated we were served some bread with some whipped butter mixed with some sort of seafood I believed? I forgot, but the butter was delicious. Our first round of bread however, was average at best and was very dense and doughy. The next rounds of bread were significantly better though, so maybe there's an inconsistency with the way they bake their bread in-house. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. Maybe I would come back to try another dish if I'm back in the area.

But alas, they have failed us in some way or another on our last four visits. It was her birthday dinner and we ordered a lot, so here goes... Sloppy, Under and Over Cooked, some things maybe good, but nothing at all was great. three apps: Arancini - over fried to a hard crunch, a bit far for my liking.. finding difficulty in cutting it with the edge of my fork. flavor ok but way overdone. Polenta with ragu great flavor but strange watery sauce and custard-ish texture to the Polenta. in my opinion, not well thought out or tasted. Gnocchi with black truffle - under cooked, almost raw very soft, no bite. cream sauce was good but the black truffle shavings had zero flavor, I could not taste or smell the essence of truffle at all. Cesar Salad - On point and delicious actually the star of the show. which that alone is terrible. sloppy plating. Lasagne Bolognese - Not super hot or evenly heated. One half of my Lasagne was Luke warm, the cheese inside on that side still solid. Bolognese was good but not great. Carbonarra - Not traditional, small skinny pasta which was al dented, but entirely Luke warm which ruined the dish. panchetta was crispy almost too crispy, but completely lacked the deliciously creamy rich consistency of a light egg sauce that the dish requires. this was dry, awfully luke warm and dry... it should be godly, divine, gently served, with a peppery personality... we pointed it out and showed it dry and cold when asked, but the waitress soured on us after that... drinks: Negroni - was ok but not great Whiskey Sour - was served on ice after being ordered and emphasized with no ice please. we were instructed after that we should have ordered it "Up" then it would have come with no ice... Ambiance: Drunk girl cackling at the bar from before we went in till after we left. she kept going into the kitchen and talking to the staff, that was the only time the ambiance was on point. her voice was sharp, she was loud, drunk, and I could hear her after we left 40' away from the door. Whomever you are visiting back there knows better. to the waitress with the long curly hair (tara?), thank you for always giving a shit, thank you for offering to help or remedy even though you were not our waitress. you've always been a star. unfortunately we won't be back. that's $500 over 4 visits in the last 3 years. 3 yrs ago the meal was so off that when the waiter could clearly see our issues with the mains they comped the whole meal... It's just not worth it anymore. we did a whole Italian meal tonight and none of it was up to par, all of which are staples in Italian cooking... consider straying from the Italian twist on the menu if it can't be done right . training, more training, , tasting, and iron fisted supervision is what this place needs... overpromised and under delivered. Luckily for you guys the majority of the humboldt food scene has no idea how bad this is... par for the course for up here...

Perhaps they were busier than two ladies could handle. Ordered food with our non-alcoholic beverage to hopefully save time. Potato skins WITHOUT onions and food for the kids were requested to come first, entrees after. We waited an hour for food and nearly left, then potato skins WITH nasty green onions arrived and so did everything else. Probably a good thing everything came so my son and husband could start scarfing. My daughter passed the point of being reasonable for anything but fries, so I had to carry her around while the stuff was packed up. Just as well, my Thai salad was a horrible disappointment with chicken as dry as jerky, slimy spring lettuce, limited and bland peanut sauce. I ate 3 bites and lost my appetite. I tried eating the onion laden potato skins, but they were so flavorless that salt couldn't even perk them up. I should have had fish& chips I guess, it's the only thing I remembered they did well before they moved twice. Oh and my son and I went to the bathroom to wash our hands before dinner. The rage music coming from the kitchen was so loud that we couldn't hear each other at the sink. The sink was nearly overflowing and paper towels were haphazardly sitting on the edge of the counter instead of the dispenser. Pretty sure I dried our hands on dirty towels. I didn't bother to really complain, the staff seemed oblivious to any needs or cared to inquire when I declined a box (while stating the salad was horrible). Plus I wasn't interested in waiting for a remake, whatsoever. I couldn't wait to get out of there for my own sanity; and my kids did remarkable considering the very loud environment and long wait. We won't be back, and we remembered why we never made it a point to dine there.
