We stood at the door for a bit and wasn't sure if we We seated ourselves, but after a while we did anyways, and the waitress came over and took our drink orders and then if you sit at the bar, you get quicker service for sure, but this is the first time we had been there. We weren't sure what we were supposed to do. There's only maybe six tables so get there early or call and maybe make a reservation two of the three tables that seats four people were reserved at 5 o'clock and then I think there was a couple of tables that had to seats. We were lucky since we got there early and wasn't really noisy. There was sports TVs with hockey and soccer playing. The ladies were attentive. Even though I go here often and leave generous tips for the last year or so, I got kicked out for no reason even though I don't even drink alcohol. After a grueling workout AND 30 min. drive (1 hr round trip) I was turned away. (My ID that isn't expired is still in the mail from California DMV, literally got a new one a few weeks ago but takes a month) I'm pushing 40 like really?.... EVEN THOUGH I had just ate here the day before. (And every other time with NO ID!) She was being a bitch for no reason....definitely not understanding at all. Steak was excellent. Our party had both the filet and the Rib Eye. The filet was very tender and cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare and medium). The rib eye was excellent- not as tender as the filet but extremely flavorful. They have a very limited number of tables, but lots of bar space. They can seat 12 max at tables and double that at the bar. You may want to call for a reservation. We just walked in on a Sunday night and got lucky. Service was so-so, as they need more servers. If you wan a good steak, come here. If you're vegetarian, don't bother. The dinner salad is nothing to write home about. The Gorgonzola butter is very tasty. Wow what a great find. This is a bar, but I went there for the food. After reading the review of another restaurant I ended up coming to this place. First of all there was plenty of parking after 5pm in an adjacent lot. Liked the vibe of the place. They played classic rock and songs i liked. My $29 14 oz steak was wonderful and came with a salad and baked potato. Food was wonderful. My husband got the fish and chips, which he says was excellent. They looked authentic to me and he said to say he is English and he should be a good judge of fish and chips. Portion size was large (3 pieces) and chips and good sauces on the side. The menus are on the wall in chalk. They also have a full bar and I took a picture Of the wine menu. The service was wonderful, price pretty darn good for California and we left full and happy. We thought we knew what to expect based on the reviews, but we got thrown a curve - there was a man laying face- down on the ground with no shoes in the empty parking lot next door. We found a parking spot in the back, and you enter through the patio where everyone was smoking. We weren't prepared for how small the place was - we can't sit at the bar easily because of handicap issues and the tables are small and tightly packed. This was the best ribeye I have had a long time! Had it with the Gorgonzola butter on top, dad and I both cleaned our plates, we saved a few bites for the dogs but didn't want too. A friend of mine recommended this place for steak so I wanted to check it out for myself. The bar is located near the Humboldt County Jail and there are many different characters in the area before you are able to get inside the restaurant. The bar/restaurant has that dive bar feeling. I was skeptical about ordering food here at first, but why not? I ordered the Filet Mignon 8oz the first night. The Filet Mignon came out as ordered and it was delicious. I enjoyed this place, so I came back the very next day. I ordered the Ribeye 16 oz. the next day. The Ribeye also came out as I ordered it and was delicious! The service was good and the bartenders and servers were attentive. I would definitely come back here when I am back in the area. The only complaint I had about this place was that there was a smoke smell. I am not sure if it was coming from the back patio, but it was a smell that I did not enjoy. It's written on right side and left side walls . So when people are sitting all over the place , you can not read the menu on the wall . You need to go close yo the wall next to people who are sitting next to those walls to be able to read the whole menu. They said they don't have burgers. Lunch menu was not also available. That's obvious, because I went at 6:30 pm . So I didn't want steak and fillet mignonette and pork That's basically all they had . I didn't want any of those , so I just ordered a calamari from their appetizer menu and margarita. They were just ok . Not that great . You barely can taste tequila in the margarita.
