It gets a little wild on weekends but the vibe is good. Bartenders are professional & nice. And they put out food on football Sunday!

This is such a quaint little bar in old town Eureka! It can be a rocking party place or a quiet place to relax!

Gallagher's is a great place for lunch or dinner! The restaurant has warm interior style and…read moredecently comfortable chairs. They have really great waitstaff too, they make the experience so much more pleasant. My favorite dishes here so far are the fish and chips, the shepherds pie and their ribeye steak! The chocolate mousse is also amazing and my husband favors the banana pudding. This place has been a big hit with family too when they visit.

An attempt at dinner with two kids, not a good choice for food or location with kids. Very loud and…read moreoverstimulating even for adults. Limited table service and very slow. Perhaps they were busier than two ladies could handle. Ordered food with our non-alcoholic beverage to hopefully save time. Potato skins WITHOUT onions and food for the kids were requested to come first, entrees after. We waited an hour for food and nearly left, then potato skins WITH nasty green onions arrived and so did everything else. Probably a good thing everything came so my son and husband could start scarfing. My daughter passed the point of being reasonable for anything but fries, so I had to carry her around while the stuff was packed up. Just as well, my Thai salad was a horrible disappointment with chicken as dry as jerky, slimy spring lettuce, limited and bland peanut sauce. I ate 3 bites and lost my appetite. I tried eating the onion laden potato skins, but they were so flavorless that salt couldn't even perk them up. I should have had fish& chips I guess, it's the only thing I remembered they did well before they moved twice. Oh and my son and I went to the bathroom to wash our hands before dinner. The rage music coming from the kitchen was so loud that we couldn't hear each other at the sink. The sink was nearly overflowing and paper towels were haphazardly sitting on the edge of the counter instead of the dispenser. Pretty sure I dried our hands on dirty towels. I didn't bother to really complain, the staff seemed oblivious to any needs or cared to inquire when I declined a box (while stating the salad was horrible). Plus I wasn't interested in waiting for a remake, whatsoever. I couldn't wait to get out of there for my own sanity; and my kids did remarkable considering the very loud environment and long wait. We won't be back, and we remembered why we never made it a point to dine there.

Sticky tables, punk rock, beer, what more do you need?…read more The shanty is fun. Good priced beer and fun clientele. Someone was always willing to strike a conversation or play some pinball. The music is great. Every time I've been, the bearded fella was manning the music. Good punk and hardcore playing, now that's the vibe I need. There's one regular who's over the top and will speak with you whether you want or not. That's part of the fun. I felt comfortable as a queer person here. Best bar in eureka hands down.

Was pleased to see (leave names out starts with M bald older gentleman) bartender who was just starting when last visiting almost 5 years prior. I always enjoyed talking to him but things have changed in the years mostly due to insane amount of bartender drama within the business itself which Is all available to read on Reddit. So after trying to have a conversation only to be ignored multiple times kind of pissed me off so just tipped like 15% when I normally do 30% or 50% and left a note. To which I was planning on apologizing but before could even say anything said smart ass comment about me leaving a note about him ignoring me and refused any kind of service. Cool place and environment but bartenders are easily most emotional employees at a bar I have ever experienced in my life and like I said all the drama is on Reddit. Sals is another great LGBTQ option if you rather not be involved in drama or making friends with bartenders.

Always get at least a #1 of wings (original-the best you'll ever have). Any burger or sandwich or salad is great, the nachos can def be shared with a couple people, and always check the specials board. Family friendly, can be loud but in a crowded kinda way. Plenty of parking in back. Could use a bigger tv w better sports choices on but that's the worst of it. Friendly staff and many have worked there for years... pretty fast service and they can do large groups depending on the time. Reservations are always a good idea

DEEPLY DISAPPOINTING!!!! I was so excited to celebrate my…read morebirthday at Lost Coast Brewery & Café--we drove to Eureka specifically for this place 12/7/25. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, the person who helped us was rude and dismissive. I understand people have bad days, but her attitude was unacceptable. When I simply asked if they had cider, she laughed and caught an attitude. I requested a sample of a strawberry option they had on tap, and when I then asked to order that drink, she said, "I'm sorry, I can't possibly remember everyone's drink when I pour drinks all day." That comment was disrespectful and unnecessary. As a human being that works with the public, it's a no brainer to say that is not how you talk to people...perhaps something along the lines of "Remind me what that was again"....I could never imagine talking to people that way. The best part though, is that while charging us--despite saying she couldn't remember everyone's drink--she somehow remembered my husband's order just fine. The inconsistency and tone were frustrating and soured the entire visit. We only came to Eureka for this spot, and it turned into the worst birthday experience. I had hoped for a fun, friendly celebration, but the service made it anything but. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this location based on how we were treated.
