I haven't been to Gallagher's before, but my 96-year-old Dad loves them. I was recently visiting, and I said, "how about Gallagher's for lunch?" He said, "OK!" I ordered via DoorDash, and went down to pick up the food. I really like their restaurant in the old Eagle house. It just gives oFf the vibe of a good old-fashioned Irish pub. I understand it's recently been remodeled, and it looks awesome. Everybody was friendly. I picked up the food and brought it home. I ordered the two-piece fish and chips, and a cup of clam chowder for each of us,. The clam chowder was a big cup, and it was rich and creamy. Lots of clams. Even though I ordered the two pieces of fish and chips, we got an order with three in them. The fish was flaky and tender, the breading was wonderful. Not greasy at all. And the fries were just absolutely the perfect texture. The tartar sauce was amazing It also came with a side of coleslaw, which was crunchy and delicious. I finished my meal, and I was stuffed. My dad had a little bit left over, and he said it reheated very well. The price is a little bit on the higher end, but for all that you get, quantity and quality, it's well worth it. Thanks for a great meal.

We were recommended this place by the nice gift shop worker at Sequoia Park Zoo. The fish and chips were delicious and the clam chowder was very tasty as well! The only con was that the service was a little slow and it took forever for our food to come out. There were also a lot of flies in the restaurant and the tables were sticky as well. However, the food was a plus!

As I was driving towards Eureka I couldn't find anything that was appealing for my taste. I decided to check Irish pub Gallagher. I looked at the reviews and they were kinda low..... . So I was a bit confused. Let me fast forward, don't read bad reviews. They are far from reality. When I got the pub, I was immediately greeted and seated. I love old school interiors and it also looks clean and neat from a customer chair. I ordered fish and chips and NY steak and also beer battered fried pickle! ( wow!) Fish and chips dish was solid good. Something you can reminiscing from NY or Boston Irish pubs! Also, it comes with 3 pieces of fish rather than ( inflation style 2 pieces)! Steak was ok, I had better but for that price I was happy! Now, fried pickles was something out this world! I am still craving for that! Really tasty and well made. Beer was good! Irish Red Ale is standard with fish and chips! Service was very friendly and fast! I think bunch of haters and competitors are leaving 1 star reviews here so I wouldn't take them seriously. If I am back to Eureka I would definitely come back to Gallaghers

Strolling around when we stumbled in here. Upon entering has the makings of a real Irish Pub. Quickly greeted and seated. Smithwicks on tap so knew we had the right place. Ordered a Rueben and the Fish and chips. Corned beef used in the Rueben was to die for. Sandwich over the top good. Fish was pacific cod and fried perfectly. Malt vinegar brought out all the flavor and chips were perfect. Finished it off with one of the best Irish Bread pudding desserts we've had this side of the pond! Surrounded by a moat of heavenly caramel sauce. Fabulous lunch. Reasonably priced and great service from Kaiden! #stevensleavin!

Absolute kudos to the staff at Gallagher's! Kaleb gets 10/10 for service and amazing cocktails! The decor is on point for coastal meets pub.

Not sure if I've Yelped here before but I've certainly eaten here several times. We've stayed in the rooms above also. The place was full, a hardy loud crowd. We found our favorite seats at the bar. My wife had the portobello sandwich of course. Now I'm a big fan of the Ruben...or the fish and chips...so I'll have the...shrimp and creamy grits! So glad I did. From our seats we can get a grand view of the place, front seat service from the barkeep and watching the cooks so skillfully pump out order after order is entertaining and fascinating to watch. Lots of food to go heading out the door too. The only thing you will find here is a good time. CHEERS

It's rare I jump on yelp anymore, but I have to today. I've lived in Eureka a year and a half and have eaten out hardly at all. Most of that is due to always having our pup with us. But today, we wanted a little luxury and sought out Gallaghers, having seen the billboards for so long. I was expecting a hole in the wall and had low expectations, but when we walked in it was amazing to be surrounded by the welcoming and warm atmosphere. The menu made me forget why I came and everything seemed like it would be delicious. We chose the potato skins as an appetizer. My wife chose the burger, not her usual go-to. After pondering 80% of the menu as my first foray, I decided on the fish and chips, but I substituted onion rings, having seen a plateful pass by. In summation, the fish was the best I've ever had. Ever. Everything was fabulous, flavorful and unforgettable. We have a plan to go back often and work our way through the expansive menu.

    Reuben Eggrolls

Every time I come here, I get the Reuben eggrolls. They are my absolute favorite cheat meal. I also love their fried pickles and cheese curds. I tried the swipe right hard cider and it was such a pretty drink. I recommended if you enjoy hard cider. Not too sweet. The dark theme is one of my favorite things about this place as well. Great for a date. Service was fast and my server was attentive.

    Sockeye & chips.

You want a good Ruben, the best I've found in Eureka? Go here. You want the best fish & chips in town? Go here. You want a great burger? Go here. You wanna try some good fried pickles? Go here. This place is great!

Reuben. The Thousand Island was outstanding!

I got the fish (halibut) and chips. Kathy for the Reuben. Jer will get the Philly Cheese Steak. Our server was Noah. Parking was excellent. So. Noah was amazing, thoughtful and kind. He knew the menu inside and out, understanding what we wanted suggesting options as we narrowed down. Now the food. Sorry I didn't get a photo of mine. It went down the hatch too quickly. So good. Kathy's Reuben is the one on the plate. Jer's Philly is on the take out box. Kathy said her Reuben was one of the best she's ever had. The ambience was fun. The place was clean, from the floor to the tables and settings. The bathroom was also clean (I am very picky about that). Will I come back? Absolutely. There is much on the menu I need to try. Thank you, Noah for making our experience so awesome!

I always enjoyed talking to him but things have changed in the years mostly due to insane amount of bartender drama within the business itself which Is all available to read on Reddit. So after trying to have a conversation only to be ignored multiple times kind of pissed me off so just tipped like 15% when I normally do 30% or 50% and left a note. To which I was planning on apologizing but before could even say anything said smart ass comment about me leaving a note about him ignoring me and refused any kind of service. Cool place and environment but bartenders are easily most emotional employees at a bar I have ever experienced in my life and like I said all the drama is on Reddit. Sals is another great LGBTQ option if you rather not be involved in drama or making friends with bartenders.

Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, the person who helped us was rude and dismissive. I understand people have bad days, but her attitude was unacceptable. When I simply asked if they had cider, she laughed and caught an attitude. I requested a sample of a strawberry option they had on tap, and when I then asked to order that drink, she said, "I'm sorry, I can't possibly remember everyone's drink when I pour drinks all day." That comment was disrespectful and unnecessary. As a human being that works with the public, it's a no brainer to say that is not how you talk to people...perhaps something along the lines of "Remind me what that was again"....I could never imagine talking to people that way. The best part though, is that while charging us--despite saying she couldn't remember everyone's drink--she somehow remembered my husband's order just fine. The inconsistency and tone were frustrating and soured the entire visit. We only came to Eureka for this spot, and it turned into the worst birthday experience. I had hoped for a fun, friendly celebration, but the service made it anything but. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this location based on how we were treated.
