The best winery I have ever been to in my life. The vibe here is beyond special. I look forward to coming back as many times as I possibly can. The wine is delicious. The staff is super kind and attentive. Highly recommended. 5 star. The owners show their love for the craft through out every detail of this business. A very special experience for sure. read more

Nice, comfortable and friendly local showroom for the small winery. Unfortunately the day we went their single African food truck was closed for the private birthday party and the bar's kitchen ran out of charcuterie board ingredients. The three tasters wine were OK and service staffs were friendly. read more

Such a great environment! Very chill and such great options. The beverage choices are great, there's no better place to get wine in Humboldt. The addition of Mother's Cooking is such a win! We had a great evening tonight, thanks Septentrio! The flavors of Havana Bowl were amazing! My wife had the portobello, I had the pork. The pork was delicious. Not dry at all and the serving size was plenty to make me happy. It was nice to have the mix of flavors to pick at and put together to customize each bite. We'll be back! read more

Stepped into Septentrio the other evening, a chill and very laidback winery thats so unpretentious its a pleasure to actually sit, sip, sample, snack, and socialize The winery has a nice selection of wines by the bottle and the glass as well as an assortment of sparkling waters and lemonade - I settled on a 2016 Russian River Cabernet that was simply sublime, smooth full bodied and rich overtones of chocolate, spice and berries it was well aged and ready for its uncorking on my visit. This is a gem of a winery located very inconspicuously in a downtown neighborhood Arcata. The backyard makes it all worth it too, a very comfortable private area to enjoy your libation choice and sit outside in mother nature. Several seating areas spread out with fire pits at a few, pairs, groups and clusters of areas allow you to pick your space accordingly. Friendly help and kind folks that work here too, everyone is very helpful and professional my server was so kind, she even brought a water dish for my little buddy. (Well behaved dog friendly) A cool winery with a great vibe thats private and relaxing on many levels - well worth a visit 4.5 Stars - rounded up for the kindest extended to my little old fur friend during my visit 00759 read more

I really enjoyed this place! We met friends here for a drink before walking to dinner and the vibes were great! Weather was beautiful so we sat outside and had wine while one person in our party got a beer. Overall the wine was good, but the service and ambiance were great! We don't live in Humboldt county but I did go to school up here, we will back when we visit! read more

Great wine ,environment and excellent service. Very experiences here and staff very friendly and attentive

Had my birthday party there. We had a great time, service was friendly. Every worker is gorgeous and super sweet. Not only was the night amazing but the drinks were flowing. read more

Friendly, unpretentious yet knowledgeable staff. Classy yet warm and welcoming atmosphere. Eclectic array of wines, especially Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects the care, passion and effort of the wine maker. Elegant setting with room for groups. Back area has couches that look comfortable. Two long tables that could accommodate small groups for a celebration or an after work glass of wine. An unassuming location across from the Hatchet house and a block from Safeway in downtown Arcata. The food truck associated with the winery comes to you from the owners of the Sushi Spot a delicious combination of foods that go well with wine. We ordered both flights beginning with a brut rose, a rose and a Pinot Noir then finishing with a selection of three different Cabernet Sauvignons. All were delicious especially the selection of Cabernet. We were served and well cared for by the owner herself who was lovely and obviously dedicated to her craft. Her husband Jared is a wizard at growing and buying grapes, making each sip full of a cornucopia of flavors. We will definitely frequent this sweet local wine lovers haven. If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. read more

Lovely place and very nice host. The wines were good but not great. Still a great place to hang out with friends though.

Wine mom here!! .... Thank you Tynel and Jared for creating the classiest family friendly spot to hang in arcata. My kids love coming to the winery. We feel beyond welcome to enjoy their space at Septentrio. Games, books. Toys, snacks and kid drinks are all available. Great wine, delicious food and a huge yard to hang out in. Pros: Great winery, beautiful ambiance, delicious bubbly, live music Cons: The real housewives of Arcata have mommy wine daycare play date here. Well dress 30 something's with devil spawn running around screaming and throwing things. The momzilla's are downing wine and not watching the kids at all. ‍‍‍‍. This is not just one group. There are multiple tables with young children/babies/toddlers. This is a beautiful place & the staff is amazing. If they can afford this delicious wine, they can afford a babysitter for 2 hours. The toddlers definitely don't want to be here. Maybe a kid friendly section? Over 21 after 6? I love kids, this is not the place for a bunch of tired bored toddlers. read more

Great place to sit outside and enjoy wine. If it's cold, there are fire pits to cozy around. Good service too. Sometimes there is a small band or musician playing. Don't count on getting food though. When it's open, the little food truck on the grounds has nice snacks, but best not to count on it. Very friendly "backyard" ambience. read more

I wish I had more time to spend here because I was expecting to go in and sample a few wines but it wasn't the case. Beautiful outside setup with tons of seating. They have menus where you can order wine and bottles to drink and hangout. They also have a food truck serving food with your drinks. After hanging out for a bit and enjoying a glass of wine I had to leave, so I asked if I could pick up a few wines to go and they guided me inside where they have wine setup on draft systems. They also have the bar area where I was able to order take take to go. read more

Staff are friendly and knowledgeable, wine is amazing and the food from Mothers Cooking is to die for!

We visited Sunday before Labor Day with a friend and we don't have enough good things to say about this place! The decor and seating is simple yet adorable. The two owners were there and had no problem chatting it up about what we liked and didn't like when it comes to wine. Not in a wine snob kind of way either, but a normal human way lol- really asking about the wines. We had a great time and between my friend and myself we walked out with 8 bottles of delicious wine. These people make you feel so welcome and I can't wait to go back! My wine rack is now stocked with just septentrio I highlighted my personal fav in the picture. The brut rose. Amazing. read more

This business is one of many gems in Arcata. The ambiance outside is perfect, making us feel safe and well cared for during these strange times. Jorge was, and is always, a fantastic host. He walked us through different wine choices, catering to our tastes and preferences. The appetizers from the food truck were delicious and complimented the delicious wine selection. There are heaters and fire pits to keep you warm on the chillier Humboldt nights, but bring a blanket just in case! Overall, we always love stopping by for date night or a girls night out. Thank you for being open and also closing when necessary to keep the community safe! Keep up the fantastic work. read more

A refreshingly elegant and unpretentious Arcata gem. Delicious wines, friendly staff, and a beautiful location.

The service was fantastic and very nice and knowledgeable. Wonderful outdoor space, that got cold (windy when we visited), but we moved inside and it was just as wonderful. I'm one of those girls who was born and raised in the country, but makes an effort to look like anything but that. In my younger days, I sought out city life, exulting in bright lights, impressive architecture, the feeling of being one tiny being amidst a throng. In my thirties, I've come to appreciate rural living (IF IT'S BY THE OCEAN) and have found myself feeling both at home in and in awe of my surroundings at Humboldt. Still, I do miss a city-life moment pretty consistently. That's been less of an issue since finding Septentrio Winery. It's like an oasis here that almost feels like it got plucked up from San Francisco or LA and lovingly placed in our community. It's dreamy, it's emotionally warm, and perhaps above all, it's a safe space. Service is super personable, the power couple who own it are a delight. There are always interesting people there, and people of all ages and walks of life. There are even toy trucks for kids! Dogs are welcome; everyone is warmly welcomed. Highly recommend this gem. read more

We are so so thankful for the Septentrio team making such a great day possible! read more

Septentrio is a gem. We came upon this quaint location after a long hike in the Redwoods & were treated to amazing wines & even more amazing service. The winemaker is passionate.... the wines reflect every aspect of a studied passion. Staff are tremendously knowledgeable (Julian) and we sampled wines beyond the flights. Ended up buying a case!!! Tapas from the Red Truck located on site are worth your while, enjoy the Syrah , 2015 Pinot & Retro Grade with a side of Truffle Fries!! Excellent!!! UNPOPULAR REVIEW Ive been here 3 times, twice with friends the other with my 22 yr old son. The ambience is great, location is great, wine is decent. If you're a wine mom this is the perfect spot for you. I particularly don't care to walk into a wine bar with a bunch of little kids running around while mommy brags how perfectly well behaved her kids are knocking back bottles of while during mommy & me play dates with other wine moms. It would be great if we can have an "adult only" wine bars. Not all of us like socially drinking around little kids, its like this every time I've been here. ‍ Maybe have "adult night" once a month? read more

Awful lady at the "Nosh." Very passive aggressive and served us cold, poorly presented food. Most likely purposeful because I am hard of hearing and wasn't willing to be patient. Unfortunate that they don't accommodate disabilities and are not friendly because it is a pretty location. read more

This family friendly venue is one of the best spots to visit while in Humboldt. From the fun, energetic and knowledgeable staff to the terrific wine, and food from The Nosh food truck you will not leave disappointed. My new favorite spot! Really well decorated and the outside fire pits are amazing (blankets included!) - I love being able to sit outside year round in the area. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable. The wine is delicious and they have movie theater ice for non-wine drinks. Plus the food truck has really good food. I really liked the laidback, family-friendly vibe. Great that families/parents have a welcoming place to hang out. This feels like one of the few "grown up" spots in town. Definitely where I'll be spending most of my nights out read more

First time here, such an adorable place!! Loved the atmosphere, the owner is super sweet and introduced herself personally. Loved the wine, we split a bottle of the Rose sparkling wine. My only complaint is the food truck. They definitely could work on timeliness and being friendlier. I wasn't greeted and I felt like a burden to him. Also, the portion size to the price is way off. I paid $13 for three of the smallest pieces of bruschetta. They were flavorful but definitely needed more. I'll definitely be going back to the winery though!! read more
