Kokoro Ramen is just wha the name implies: the menu consists mostly of ramen options, and a few other items. I liked that they had numerous options for ramen. The service was very friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is pleasant and causal. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. It was very good. The only thing I would prefer is for the noodles to be a little more firm. They weren't mushy or anything, just a little bit more well done than I like. It was still delicious. My favorite part was that when I asked about spicy options, they brought me four containers. I chose "nuclear chili". Whew! A little goes a long way. I loved it. I also ordered green tea, which was served in a nice teapot. I would definitely go back.

It was quiet and cozy - service was okay, we didn't have to wait too long for our food. The veggie broth was creamy - I guess it had a lot of cashew in it, it tasted okay, didn't taste too sweet. I had to ask and add a tonne of garlic chilli (tip: skip the oil, it isn't needed). They did not give us any chilli powder or ask for spice levels. Also, we added an extra egg in it. I pretty much think it was vegan, not sure. I think it was a decent Ramen for about $24 including tips.

I came with my partner on a weekend afternoon for lunch. We were seated immediately. The interior is quite small, but well decorated. The server was friendly and attentive. We ordered the Takoyaki to share, tonkatsu ramen (I got mine without green onion since I noticed how large the pieces were), and then Ube cheesecake for dessert. The Takoyaki was very good - there were large pieces of octopus inside. The tonkatsu ramen was also quite good - I wish the broth had been a little more flavorful, and that the pork belly slices were a little less overcooked, but I appreciated the large serving of noodles we got and the egg was well cooked. The Ube cheesecake was my favorite dish - it was perfectly sweet especially when eaten with the cream! Overall, we had a great experience. I'll definitely be back for the Ube cheesecake!

Top tier ramen! I've tried ramen in the Bay Area and in Boston and this is some of the best. So flavorful and in a cozy environment. Food came out fast and was such a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be returning. The waitress was also super nice.

Been here a few times alone. The Chukaramen is really good especially considering the weather lately. Very fresh and the vegetables are crisp. So good. The tonkontsu ramen is really good and salty, the eggs were soft and jammy, I only wish we got more pork. The waitstaff are quick and caring even during the busy time. I appreciate their attention and never feel forgotten, tho it is a small space, hard to lose someone in there!

Service was fast and polite. Food was delicious. I ordered chicken karaage, tonkotsu (minus the pickled ginger), and shared the yuzu cheesecake with my friend. My friend ordered the shoyu ramen, which she finished and said is very tasty! The eggs are nicely marinated and flavorful. The tonkotsu is rich in flavor, so I knew I wouldn't finish it, but I took the rest to go. The portions feel pretty good for the quality and price. They were pretty busy, but my friend and I got in just in time before a wait list started. Staff were polite, friendly, and attentive. I've had plenty of ramen from the bay area and this is worth the visit if you're in the area. The yuzu cheesecake was delightful with well-balanced flavors. Parking wise I would say just find a place to park within a block or so rather than trying for the parking spaces in front of the restaurant.

I came back on a Saturday around 830 pm. I got seated right away. I ordered the chicken ramen and some gyoza. There was plenty of staff this time. We got our food quickly and everything came out great. I'm so glad I came back and gave them a second chance. The atmosphere is cozy and nice. If you're looking for ramen, come check them out.

Amazing ramen for anywhere! All the workers were really kind and attentive! Vibes were cute and cozy. It can be hard to find actually spicy food in Humboldt but they did not disappoint when we ordered our ramen spicy! They even gave us some extra cayenne pepper in case we wanted to add more (and we did but it was already pretty hot). Will definitely be back!

Thank you for being here. We're on our way in from the Bay Area and this is the best option for Asian food. Unfortunately we couldn't dine in having our dog on the trip with us but the service was great for our phone in order. They also made us a kids chopstick set and gave us a side of their ghost pepper chili powder. It was spicy and a nice touch. The hubs even got to buy from their selection of sake & beer. Amazing ramen!!! I tried the veggie ramen, and had a sip of the chicken paitan. loved how many veggies were in the bowl, and how flavorful the broth was. The service was very prompt and the staff were friendly. The space was clean, comfortable to be in, and there was no wait! I'd absolutely return. read more

We were so lucky they were still serving food when we got there at 9 pm! The broth was amazing and the decor is simple and the service is fast. Not much more you could ask for. It's in a plaza where I can see parking get limited if it's busy on the weekend. They mentioned it was open a month ago. There are no draft beers, and they had asahi bottles. We all got the tonkotsu one, but they had about 5 other options. There is live music next door at the bars. We can't wait to come back! read more

The Ramen here was delicious. We tried the Tonkatsu and the miso. The ramen was delicious. We did get a couple appetizers and unfortunately did not like those. There was one with octopus that was awful. Although we don't recommend that I would go back for the Ramen anytime. read more

Some pretty tasty ramen here for sure! I prefer subbing for the spinach ramen noodles instead of their regular ones. Be careful for the chili pepper powder they bring to the table upon request to spice up your ramen. It is ghost pepper powder and it will push you to the limit. Giving Kokoro 5 stars instead of 4 because though it's not the best ramen I've had, it's quite good and they get an extra point for being open till midnight and because their Takoyaki is awesome! read more

We came here for a late night dinner and were not disappointed. We shared some gyoza then each had the tonkotsu ramen. The broth, char siu, noodles and all the toppings were excellent. It was great comfort food. The atmosphere and staff were also perfect. Well worth the visit! read more

This is the perfect hole in the wall with excellent service and food I always try to find while on vacation. Ordered the Karaage, and gyoza for appetizers. The karaage was 6 large pieces of battered fried chicken thighs. The gyoza that I ordered potsticker style needed more color, but tasted ok. Tonkotsu ramen was delicious but I wanted a more fatty flavor. My wife ordered the Chicken Paitan and I preferred the more well developed flavor more. Overall the wait staff was very attentive which helped make our experience all the better. read more

I was excited to try Kokomo Ramen today with a friend for lunch and was disappointed. The service and ambiance were good, but the food fell short. I ordered Tonkotsu Ramen. It looked great, with nice aroma, but it was missing the sliced pork belly. When I told our server, she brought two slices on a plate. My friend's Chicken Kaarage was dry and overcooked. We should have sent both orders back to the kitchen. Not sure what happened. Other lunch diners seemed happy. Not us. read more

We ended up ordering a second plate of banchan because it was so good. The daikon radish had the most satisfying crunch and the others- cabbage and bean sprouts were very well pickled too! Cheese corn was sweet and honestly a good pairing with the very soury/ pickled soup. The kung pao vegetables would have definitely fooled me if I wasn't told it was mushroom. Their ramen bowls are now my favorite in downtown, the pork is DELICIOUS, the broth could be a drink on its own and the marinated egg has a perfectly soft yolk; it's a very pretty dish. I ordered the seafood penne pasta and my boyfriend ordered the king salmon with risotto. Both were "specials" and were not on the menu. However after digging into reviews here, it seems they are not so much specials since both dishes have been served here for the past 7ish years. Seafood penne pasta: I would rate a 3/5, maybe a 2.5/5. The pasta itself was not al dente which was disappointing. The "star" of this dish was supposed to be the scallop, which was severely undercooked! It was super soft and mushy. The shrimp was alright...some were overcooked. The salmon was also dry. I think the only thing I really enjoyed was the mussels, clams, and the sauce. The sauce had some curry with a small kick to it. This dish was just okay. Escargot: We ordered as our appetizer, I'd give it a 3.5/5! The escargot was a little soft but paired wonderfully with the bread. Creme brûlée: 3/5. Our waitress kindly put a birthday candle on it for my birthday. :) I enjoyed it, and it was very custardy! The downside was that the sugar on top was too burnt. I can't speak much for my boyfriend's dish, I did have a bite of his salmon and it was alright, maybe a bit too salty. The service however was wonderful and our waitress was super kind and helpful. As a mom who loves a good bacon cheeseburger, this place has always been one of my favorites. In fact, when I was pregnant with my now 12-year-old son, I think I was there at least twice a week satisfying my burger cravings. I'm thinking since it was a special, they may have run out of the regular rellenos or perhaps they were cutting costs but next time I'll just stick with the regular chile relleno burrito. We also picked up an order of their other special, carne asada rolled tacos, which definitely don't need the added carne asada because guacamole is all them tasty suckers need but we snarfed it all down. I don't know when we'll be driving through again but this is a really solid spot that I'll always think of fondly.
