I swear, I felt I was getting healthier with each spoonful. That soup is magical! The Thai coffee is always a good addition, and if you have enough room, the sticky rice and coconut dessert (no way I can spell the name) is a delicious way to top off the meal. Not super impressed. Service was ok and the food didn't take too long to come out. I got red curry and asked them to make it spicy. No issues with the spiciness, but the overall flavor was kind of flat. It was salty and there was basil, but no sweetness whatsoever. I wasn't expecting anything super sweet, but a tiny bit of sweetness makes the overall flavors pop, and this didn't have a hint of it. Rice is extra. Not super expensive, but still it seems kind of stingy to have to purchase rice on the side when you're dropping about $20 on the item, especially for folks who are dining in. So delicious! The mixed vegetable soup with chicken had so much flavor and was great for a chilly evening. Sweet and sour entree also amazing. The spring rolls with beef were a little simple in flavor, definitely needed the sauce. Pad Thai was a big portion and had leftovers. If in the area I would return in a heartbeat. The service was good, but I didn't like any of the things I ordered which were the fresh summer rolls with shrimp, the crab Rangoons, and the Thai green tea. Summer rolls with shrimp: the peanut sauce was pretty salty and not sweet but I know that varies. But the noodles in the rolls were almost crunchy, maybe undercooked to dried out. Crab Rangoons: these tasted a bit like goat cheese and I did not like them at all. We had the chicken satay, fried tofu, pad see ew with tofu, pork fried rice, and green curry. Chicken satay was tender and tasty. The sauce was very good. The fried tofu was great. Crispy outside and a very good dipping sauce. I'm a big fan of tofu and I liked this very much. Pad see yew was great and the tofu cooked nicely! Great flavors! Probably the best Thai food you'll get in Humboldt. My partner and I ordered the pad thai and pad see ew. It was their first week open after a few weeks of closure and they were incredibly busy. We expected a long wait time, but I think they may have forgotten about us because we ended up waiting for almost an hour to pick up our food and go, as we weren't even dining in. They included two free deserts due to the wait and some boba, which was very kind. My only complaint is the portions are a bit small. read more

One thing you can count on is this restaurant has standard Thai food (nothing I have had was ever exceptional) and that you have to pay for rice. They give out smaller than average portions and charge for rice! We didn't realize you have to order this a la carte when we got home and spent over $100 on the meal already (several curries). This place is delicious! My favorites are the vegan Tom ka soup and the papaya salad. They make good fresh rolls too. If you're vegan make sure to ask for vegan spring roll sauce as the peanut sauce is not vegan. They have good curry too. They also make their own chili oil in house. Most things I have tried here are amazing. The restaurant is clean and the staff is professional and diligent. I like 5 stars but i they have a scale of 1-10 for spiciness which is cool. I don't know what it is about the coast, but it seems to always have the best Thai food! I did enjoy my yellow coconut curry but I have to say the showstopper was the pad Thai. It was so delicious. Add a little peanut sauce and basil and it makes it even better. We managed to come in on a day where it wasn't too busy so everything came out really quick and fresh. The service was great. We weren't wowed by the food, despite seemingly rave reviews by locals. We did takeout, and were disappointed that our spring rolls, which are supposed to contain vermicelli and fresh mint and cilantro, did not contain these things. All we got were $11 rice paper lettuce and carrot wraps with 1 paltry piece of dried up tofu in them -- and these were loosely wrapped. What a total ripoff, we thought. The panang curry was okay, but the app did not give us a choice regarding level of spiciness -- and we forgot to ask for milder, so it was just a bit too much heat. Phad Thai was fine; standard fare -- nothing to write home about. There could have been more sauce and a fewer noodles crammed into a too-small container, while we did appreciate that it was garnished with shredded red cabbage, carrot, and bean sprouts. What can I say about this place. Hmm... just don't go. Don't try anything. Me and my girlfriend are from Southern California and we have tried many Thai restaurants there as well as all over the country. We eat Thai food at least once a week. This place, it has to be one of the lowest ranking places. Not sure what everyone else tastes when they eat here. But the food is not good. The papaya salad and Tom yum is bland, the yellow curry is watered down, the curry puffs are not crunchy, and the pad see ew is super sweet. We ate a few bites of each and threw the rest away. I've only eaten here once, and might consider it on a future visit to Eureka if I've exhausted all other options. The food is adequate but nothing really stood out to me as extraordinary. The prices were a bit high -- but the portions were quite large. I ordered the coconut fried carrots -- it was impressive for two reasons: the carrots must be the size of small beets. The slices were quite thick and not cooked all the way through, and the coconut batter was very thick with a lot of shredded coconut. I imagine a more delicate version of this could be quite enjoyable, and reheating this dish the next day in a convection oven improved it substantially. Service was quite good -- mostly families in the restaurant between 6-7pm on a Saturday night. There was even entertainment provided by two other patrons who appeared to be pair of local drugs industry types who appeared to be right out of central casting: silver haired Limey with a North Face jacket still bearing tags, the other a younger Bulgarian with a heavy accent, long hair w shaved sides, tight black pants and mandarin collar motorcycle-style jacket who had a phone glued to his hand. Their conversation was louder than anyone else ranging from "I can't believe the police didn't have you" and complaining about the price per pound for their marijuana, and other woes and troubles besetting their profession. Utterly disappointing. Not authentic at all. Serves me right for craving Thai food in a town where there is only one Thai restaurant. This was takeout fyi. I ordered the chicken pad Thai. Chicken was fine but everything else was horrible. Waaaaay too sweet! The noodles were all bunched up, it was hard to untangle them, almost had to have a fork fight with this dish. I also ordered a papaya salad with a side of sticky rice. As soon as opened the box I already knew something was off. The taste was waaaaay off, not like a typical papaya salad. Very strange. The spicy level goes from 1-10, I ordered it with 5 because I like some spice and it's like they didn't take my request into consideration because it was too spicy, my lip is still tingling.
