I was very happy with the space and the availability of staff throughout my visit for lunch. I had some spring rolls and stir fry and had enough for another meal. Well done! Highly recommend for freshness of ingredients and temperature of the food at service. read more

This is place is good, but nothing special compared to pho I've had elsewhere. I ordered the P11- round eye steak, fatty brisket, and well done brisket pho. The meat was good, but pretty tough and harder to chew than other places I've tried. The noodles were good, but the soup lacked flavor. It was barely salty and I very heavily relied on other sauces to flavor the broth. The service is really good. The man working the counter is nice and makes conversation. read more

Great food ! Best in Humboldt! Always a good food and friendly atmosphere. They can get busy sometimes but it's only because it's so good ! Try it out ! Coconut shrimp and the p9 pho option are my favorite! Must try a strawberry madness !! read more

Update on an older review where the bathroom was terribly unsanitary. The bathroom was painted and the toilet is properly affixed to the floor. Either way there was a large puddle of liquid on the floor, and staff pretended it did not exist. It may or may not have been urine or a leak from the toilet. The food is usually pretty good, this time it took way too long for our food to be brought to our table. My pho came first and was luke warm and the broth tasted watered down. Other plates on the table were better including a bowl of pho the wait staff forgot about, the pho was hot and the broth was tastier. When you have no other choice this will do. At least the bathroom is better, not clean but better. The food is usually pretty good. Price typical for Humboldt County. read more

I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS!!!!!!!! This place was terrible!! The food was so bad. We ordered the M1 and it just tasted awful, totally bland and no flavor at all. The pho was fine, except the noodles were still congealed together in a brick and were hard to take apart. Obviously they just came out of the package. Worst of all was the service and price. The hostess was totally rude and we waited for so long for our orders to be taken, we had to flag them down. We ordered medium P1 x2, large P1, and M1 and the total came out to be $77. I said "what? Are you sure?" She was so rude. Refused to give me an itemized receipt. I'm not sure if gratuity was included or what, but this meal was worth half of that. For the most mid meal I've ever had, you could get two weeks worth of groceries. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! read more

Called order in. The curry... the egg rolls... and the shrimp with noodles all excellent and very tasty . I'm heading to Vietnam in the summer can't wait to feast on the food over there. I hear that the Thai food and Vietnamese food here has been not as authentic as it is over there. Having spent sometime in Thailand I will agree. But this place is pretty damn good. read more

Being a Vietnamese restaurant, I'm surprised they offer pad thai. I should've trusted my intuition to not order pad thai because unfortunately, it's not very good at all. Immediately it tastes drenched in soy sauce which is, believe it or not, NOT an ingredient in traditional pad thai. It also explains why the noodles are unusually dark brown in color rather than a light yellow or orange. It's a little lighter in the picture due to me adding lime juice. It's very salty and not enough sour, so I had to add my own lime juice to offset the saltiness. The meat is also pretty.. disgusting. It has chunks of chicken and dark meat instead of thin strips which is highly unusual for a pad thai dish and it's not good at all. Secondly, I got the tiger milk tea with boba and they completely forgot the boba! 70% of my drink is ice. I didn't realize until I got home. Maybe I'll try the pho next time, but I'd recommend skipping the pad thai completely. read more

We came for dinner on a Saturday evening and it was busy but we were able to get seated at a table quickly. We ordered the lemongrass chicken spring rolls, beef pho, and chicken pho. We got our food pretty quickly and all the items we ordered were good and the beef pho broth was up to par for my taste. I was thankful we found a pho spot this far up north while we were on our trip to the redwoods. There were a lot of college students here since it's near Humbolt State. The other tables ordered beers like Sapporo. Although for drinks we only got waters and a strawberry boba smoothy. The boba was just okay but I don't expect high quality boba at a pho place. We ordered banh mi's to-go for our road trip and those were decent as well. The setting is casual and it was cool that they had lots of windows on one side of the place, making it like a sun room area. By the time we were leaving, almost every table was taken at the place. They were a bit understaffed since it felt like there was one main person in the kitchen and one was taking all the orders and also the cashier. However if you have a pho craving, this spot will be your best bet in Arcata. read more

It's not great. Good food is hard to come by in Humboldt. Expect 50 dollars for a dinner for two here. The pho broth was not flavorful, you'll have to drench it in chili oil to get any sort of spice. Not to mention the giant pieces of inedible cartilage mixed among the meat. The egg rolls are $8 for 4. Making each $2. It's just not worth it. It's your typical Humboldt restaurant. "Just okay" is the motto. read more

We stopped by today. First time visitors. [It is now in my top 10 restaurants in the county] Clean, friendly, smells good... The staff was fun and smiled easily. Bathroom (men's - my wife said women's too) was clean. Parking is adequate (small town). Ground floor. Easy wheelchair access. We started with the A10 - Vietnamese Style Crispy Chicken Wings. Wings and drumsticks. Wow! Crispy, juicy, flavorful. I think honey based. We got the V1 - Vegetarian Spring Rolls (to go) because we saw another customer with them and she was in bliss. I got a P12 - Eye Round with Fat Brisket. Ended up using a fast straw, the spoon wasn't cutting it. I needed faster. Next time I will get the egg added. Very tasty. The mixture of the meat with the noodles, broth and greens was outstanding. It came with a spring salad with bean stories and lime wedges, jalapeno and basil. I also ordered a Peach Smoothy (24oz). Definitely peachy. Not to thick and very flavorful! My wife got the C4 - Yellow Curry with Chicken. I don't go much for curry, but I had some and may do that one again! Comes with a side of white sticky rice. Her drink was a Mango Flow tea, also 24oz. I also got to go the P56 - Vietnamese Fried Rice with veggies and chicken, and also the P58 - Pad Thai with chicken. Sorry we were eating and didn't get photos except for the half gone chicken and my almost empty bowl. Will I come back? Absolutely! read more

This is my favorite restaurant in perhaps the entire county. As a Vietnamese person in Humboldt it is hard to find food that reminds me of home and this place does the trick. Service rushed us to order. I had the pho and the broth tasted watered down and was lukewarm. The amount of meat was less than what was expected. Fried egg rolls were crispy but too doughy. My husband had the vermicelli with pork and shrimp and the shrimp tasted like it was bad and caused severe stomach problems. Overall between the poor service and the bad food - never will go back . We love Vietnamese food- that was the saddest food and a disgrace to a cuisine that's usually outstanding read more

I called in to order and the receptionist hung up before I could give my name for the order. When I came my drink had boba in it. That's kinda weird because it was a honeydew smoothie but I just accepted it because I was in a rush. There was something diluted about their broth. It lacked flavors and spices, but I wonder if it's because the demographic here can only tolerate a certain flavor? I do not wish to be judgy about that, but I have half Indian so for me it was lacking and I feel bad to say it, but the average pho restaurant in San Diego has better broth than this place. My mom had a veggie broth and my sister and I both got beef types of pho. My meatballs were small and easy to eat which is nice because I still have braces on. They were busy in store and with pickup orders so I know they're doing good with business. They did make sure I had chopsticks, lime, sriracha and hoisin, so the customer service is not bad. They do care! I'm going someday they are able to see my review and not be shy of tapping into their true authentic flavors. I love Vietnamese food and it would be a shame for them to tone it down just for less ethnic/ cultured people to consume it. Wish you guys the best. I did pay apple pay. read more

I have eaten here a few times. I have had their pho soup and their item B4. I enjoyed their B4 item from their menu. Service is not going to leave you feeling especially warm & fuzzy, the ambiance is decent, but the food rocks. I've been going here for a good while. They used to be very consistent- nothing glorious, but consistent. However, over the past year or maybe longer they hired a god awful woman at the front desk. Not only does she not understand English very well, she doesn't ever pay attention to what your saying... Which is key in taking someone's order... So every time I call I have to repeat my order over and over again and there's been more times than I can count of her getting it wrong and also not putting my order in so it's not ready when I get there. Shes also just not personable and stands there texting or doing things that are inappropriate to a place of business. and it's very frustrating from a place i used to like to go to. I avoid going there now because of her. I have no idea how the owners continue to have her in that position or at all... read more

Food: The meals are great, cheap for their portion sizes with enough hearty soup. There are also fruit smoothies and tea that can be made-to-order. And did I forget to say the meals are great and fulfilling? I typically order the P10 meal, which is the Eye Round Steak and Meatball. Service: The waiter and waitresses are on point when it comes to service, to-go orders are available, as well as sit in. They do really well acting like a traditional waiter/waitress attending to customers, cleaning and making sure the tables are cleaned, as well as check on guests if they needed anything. Food is brought to the table for you, you do not need to go grab it yourself. Which is much different from many of this establishments that expects you to bus everything yourself... as well as pay extra tip for a non-service. If I were to bus everything myself... I wouldn't have wanted to tip people. Ambiance: Besides the ongoing debate and protests that has been going on that has people... tagging a lot of buildings and places, even on the college campus, the ambiance of the place does very well, the decor within the restaurant as well as lighting and music that fits the atmosphere. Will I recommend this place? Always. It's one of my go-to establishment when I want something great and fulfilling... and it is just a walk to the campus. read more

Enjoyed my bowl of vegetarian pho after hiking all day. Pho is one of my favorite dishes & I'm always thrilled to find a veggie broth base. Veggies were fresh, food came out super quick. Broth was a bit bland, and i would have liked more veggies & more tofu, but overall seems adequate for the price. This casual spot is nothing in regards to atmosphere, but it's all about the comfort food. If I was a local I'd prob eat here or order takeout all the time. read more

I visited this restaurant for the first time and it had a comfortable dining area. The gentleman who served us was friendly. Their menu has a lot to offer and the prices aren't bad. The spring rolls were AMAZING! Their small bowl of beef soup for $3 was actually very yummy. I ordered the stir fry vegetable with beef. (Forgot to get pic of my food). My daughter ordered off of the kids menu and it was a large, noodle, chicken bowl. My husband had the Pad Thai and the portion was huge. All of the sauces are on the table. I like not having to bother someone for them. The food came out very fast and they were super busy with DoorDash orders, to go orders, and dining in orders. All of the food was VERY stove hot. I am not a fan of food that isn't stove hot. We will visit again. Tasty for sure! read more

Probably the worst restaurant in Arcata and the worst Vietnamese food I've ever had. Double charged me for something they're supposed to give me. I ordered two vermicelli bowls and when I went to pick it up they only had one bag of sprouts with jalapeños. I asked for a second one because it's two orders and they charged me 4 dollars for that. Four dollars for old ready to mold fresh herbs and produce. Ridiculous. Won't be back here. The lady seemed pretty upset when I asked for an itemized receipt. Last week I went here with a friend and very much enjoyed my stir fry with egg noodles and veggies. There was broccoli, carrots, celery, bok choy, baby corn, red peppers, onions--everything listed on the menu. I reordered it to go today and the sauce was completely different--way too much fish sauce (which I do not care for) and mostly carrots and broccoli-no corn, no bok choy, no onions or celery, and only one single slice of red pepper. I cannot stand inconsistencies with restaurants, so I won't be going again. read more

Scammers. Lady charged me $6.50 for 3 16 ounce bobas when the sign clearly says $5.50 each. She had the audacity to be upset because I paid with a gift card (???). Rude, bad service, and unprofessional. I say this as someone who used to love this place. Shame to see it have gone to shit. read more

Wife came home with food from pho for dinner and after cooking the takeout we realized it was not what we ordered. We called to have it fixed and they had the audacity to call us back and argue with us about whether or not they had gotten the order wrong. They offered to replace it, but only the noodles. I had to tell them that I needed the broth as well because we had already cooked the soups, and if that's all they would do. I guess I would pay for it. I got there and they charged me $12 extra for the soup (The audacity!!?!?) I made some snide comment about writing this review, and before I had left the parking lot, they called back saying they had talked to the manager and voided the charge for the broth. All in all, I'm glad they actually made it right, but with the loss of time, gas, and the extra annoyance of being argued with as a customer, this was definitely an overall negative experience. Zero Stars. The food is okay. It's better when you are sick or it's cold or something. read more
