I tried this place for the first time due to word of mouth from locals and my wife. It's away from town and a humble location. The decor is cute and I love the medieval style door between rooms. We wanted to try out some new ones in the menu that we never had before. We ordered Coconut Shrimp and Stuffed Angel Chicken, Drunken Noodle, Tom Yum Soup, pineapple fried rice and several different beer. Their service was quite slow since they had lots of takeout orders and several regular customers sitting on the bar. Their foods were eerily good. In my opinion this Thai restaurant is probably one of the best restaurants in Crescent City and Fort Dick area. The lady chef has been cooking here for over 25 years. The brother is the Sous Chef and the sister cooking is from her heart. She cleans the shrimps so well, it's literally like eating a healthy home cooked meals. Don't judge a book by its cover!! The meals are delicious, seems like the locals know this gem! Our waitperson is so helpful and gave great explanations of the dishes on the menus. The ambiance is nothing to get excited about, it could use an updated coat of paint with a softer tone of color, but it isn't anything that's going to stop us from come in! It's clean, the tables are situated nicely, and we don't have to wait long to get our order in. From some folks they have been coming for the last 28 yrs. While heading North on 101I had a taste for Asian food and looked around Crescent City and this little place popped up as well, and I'm so glad it did. We passed through Crescent City and there was a huge line, nearly out the door of the little restaurant so we kept driving the extra 15 minutes to this restaurant. I had read the mixed reviews so my expectations were mixed. It's a small restaurant on one end of the building; I suspect the lounge is on the other side. We went on a Tuesday night and there were about a half dozen other patrons; plenty of seating for us. Great menu with fairly standard Thai food and I was surprised to see so many American food items, too. I went for the Thai food, hoping the good reviews would hold true for me and hubby. I got the tofu soup and panang curry; hubby got chicken fried rice. Wow delicious. Just the right amount of heat in the curry as I'm a lightweight when it comes to spice. I'd say it was a 3+. The soup was light and flavorful too. Hubby really enjoyed his fried rice too; I snuck a bite and it was delicious. My only regret is that I didn't originally order more to go to have for the next day's breakfast/lunch. Our waitress was super nice, friendly, and attentive. Double check but I think they are open for take away for lunch and dinner but dining in only for dinner. I really recommend this restaurant. Place looked great over the photos and the reviews seemed great; however, when my family and I personally sat down to eat we had a very unfortunate experience. To start off, we came in and saw a sign stating that we need to wait to be seated. We waited but apparently waiting to be seated wasn't necessary and we only found out by a fellow customer after 10 minutes of waiting. We sat down to eat and still hadn't been acknowledged for a while. Server ignored us in the beginning for a bit. I believe the server was new which was fine but she looked overwhelmed and someone should've helped her at least. After finally being acknowledged the server told us the food would take a while but we ended up waiting for almost two hours. I get the food would take a while but almost two hours?? It was upsetting. Once we got our food it was not close to being Thai at all. My Pad Thai was filled with an excessive amount of sugar. I'm pretty sure it's not supposed to be a dessert . On top of that I found a nice long hair strand in my food. Additionally, the menu was confusing beyond recognition. I wasn't sure if it was a Thai restaurant or a regular American diner. The menu had some bits of "Thai" cuisines and a load of the normal American meals (burgers, steak, & etc). In the end, I took my family and left without finishing the food. I respectfully told the waitress that I'd refuse to pay for the food but I'd pay for the Thai ice tea that I ordered. Thankfully, they said we didn't have to pay and respectfully apologized for the experience. Throughout this all, I wish there was better communication because that definitely would've helped. Best place we've eaten in a while, here in town. Not just because it was our first time eating out in over a year either. Indoor and outdoor dining, masks worn by staff, delicious food, vegetarian options, a lot of beers to choose from, and lots of other refreshments if you're not a beer fan. What a great dinner! The restaurant entrance is on the right side of the parking lot, I never saw the bar section. Amber, our great hostess/server was cheerful and made great recommendations. The soup pot of chicken coconut soup was amazing. So flavorful and I like soup with rice so I ordered rice as well. Yum! We also had chicken satay which was just as expected. The pork on skewer with grilled vegetables was outstanding. The pork pieces were generous and very juicy...high quality meat. Located approximately 8 miles north of Crescent City off Hwy 101, take a left on Kings Valley Road and then a left on Lake Earl Drive and its right there on your left hand side. Being near the prison you sometimes see hitch hikers wearing orange clothing which seemed kind of strange but I was so hungry I just kept driving. Is that wrong? I discovered this diamond in the rough thanks to Yelp and was very pleased with the food. I ordered pad thai that came with generous portions of chicken and shrimp for $9.95 and angel wings were $9.95. The pad Thai had a perfect combination of sweetness and tangy without overdoing either. Angel wings were perfectly crisp and stuffed to the gills. The orangy sweet chili dipping sauce complemented them perfectly. The cook came out and delivered the food personally and was very friendly and proud of her food. I was told the curries come with the spice level of about 2 out of 5 so you will get a little heat. I can't wait to visit this place again and try some other things on the menu. Here's where I tell you how much thai food I've had in my life, yada yada yada..... and you're super impressed but I will spare you the drivel. For what it's worth, the Pad Thai ranks in my top 3 of all time. It's THAT GOOD! I parlayed dinner here with a visit to Tolowa Dunes State Park which is located at the end of Kellogg rd a couple miles from the restaurant. Tolowa Dunes has beach access where you can drive your AWD or 4 wheel drive vehicle on the beach. Nice and secluded large beach worth visiting. Well worth the little drive out of town. This place is the greatest!!! Fantactic food, great drinks, a little hole in the wall place!!! Been there over a dozen times in the past year or so!! This place sometimes does a crazy takeout service, heard the waitress telling people on the phone on evening there were over 2 hours out for To Go orders!! However, the last time was not so good!!! Might have been new help?? Will try again this weekend. First it took a long time to be waited on!! (Later found out there was a privet party of about 16 people that ordered just ahead of us) But what got me was when I asked for a bit of Hot Mustard, was charged 95 cents for it!!! Sense when did restaurants start charging for condiments?? They going to start charging for Soy Sause an Salt an Pepper next?? Also use to get three shrimp on top of my order, this time was only one shrimp!! Cutting costs?? Thats okay, I just reduced the tip a couple $$!! LoL.... 7/18/23 6:55p pick up time. Maybe just an off day but our take out meal was disappointing this time. Beef and Broccoli too salty, meat kind of tough, Chicken fried rice was gooey and not much flavor, Pineapple Fried Rice with few ingredients and like the chicken FR was gooey, little flavor. Egg drop soup was good, Onion Rings was the best item we got, crispy and light yet kind of cold and had to heat in the oven. I live less than 2 min away and picked up 5 min earlier than they told me. Not sure if they have new kitchen help but I hope it doesn't stay this way. Usually the owners are making the food to order and has been excellent for years. All items were about a dollar more, and I was notified of this on the phone. So $60 plus a small tip for 3 people. I order take out here a least once a month for the past few years but might start getting food elsewhere if it isn't better next time. I hope the management gets this review so they use the constructive feedback. I have always loved this place and want to keep ordering but I wont't pay the increases in price for mediocre food. It's a sketchy dive bar. Lots of rough looking folks in there! I took my family (with two toddlers), and did an immediate turn around to the door as I'm pretty sure no youth are even allowed inside. I did order some take-out, though. It was really good, even by my standards (we have excellent Thai Food here in Eugene OR). So if ambiance is a non-issue, or you don't have kids, or if you're looking to hit a bar that happens to make good Thai food, then go here. I was introduced to this Thai restaurant by a friend during my Oregon Coast travels. It is located off Hwy 101 in Crescent City - Fort Dick area. Unless you are a local you would not know this place was there. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken (Tempura batter) and steamed rice. First the aroma of the dish was spectacular. The Tempura Chicken, Vegetables and sauce were a perfect blend of flavors. The vegetables were cooked to perfection offering a fresh clean distinctive taste. I savored each bite with great delight!!! Before I relized it all of the delicious entree was gone. The waitress collected my plate and began reciting the homemade freshly prepared dessert menu. All sounded wonderful but I felt I should pass. After further thought I decided to have the Lemon Pie with the homemade Coconut Ice Cream. OMG. My tastebuds shouted with excitement. I was delighted as I appreciated and enjoyed each bite. The freshness of flavor and smooth texture knocked me off my feet. They offer a variety of Thai dishes as well as American dishes - Steak and Seafood. The service was impeccable, the food exceptional, the value phenonmenal.
