Visiting Brookings for one night on a road trip and decided to try this place for takeout based on the good reviews. Did not disappoint! I got the hamachi jalapeño, salmon avocado, and Tree Hugger rolls. All three were fresh, tasted great, were well portioned and beautifully made. The service when I called in and picked up my order was very efficient and friendly. Great experience!

We stopped at Pacific Sushi & Grill completely by chance while driving through Brookings on our way to Coos Bay, and it turned out to be a great surprise. We parked right in front, walked in, and immediately liked the vibe. The restaurant felt comfortable, relaxed, and inviting. We chose to sit at the sushi bar, which was a great decision. I ordered a spicy roll, an Nami roll, and a scallop roll, and Ray had a spicy tuna roll along with a few other items. Everything was wonderful--fresh, flavorful, and very well done. The quality of the sushi really stood out. If we lived anywhere near Brookings, this would absolutely be a go-to spot for us. Great sushi, great atmosphere, and a place we'd happily return to. Highly recommend.

There aren't a ton of more upscale restaurants in Brookings so we were glad to find Pacific Sushi for a date night. The restaurant is small but gorgeous and the staff was very friendly. My wife ordered the Agedashi Tofu & Pork Gyozas and I had a couple of rolls, the spicy Rouge and a plain Jane salmon, avocado and cucumber roll. Everything was fantastic. The fish was super fresh, the tofu cooked perfectly and the gyoza sauce tangy and yummy. We only had a couple of small issues, more personal preferences really. 1 - my wife enjoyed the tofu, but the dish is described as having an agedashi broth but really it was more of a thicker style sauce smeared on the plate the tofu was placed on. It didn't really have a true broth. 2 - the habanero marmalade was not spicy. The roll was described as a spicy roll, but the marmalade was sweet. Unfortunately, the jalapeños were sweet as well. I know they can't control capsaicin in peppers, but that marmalade needs way more habanero. It would be WONDRFUL on toast though! Note: looking at their menu now they have updated this roll to replace the marmalade with a "tangy sesame". I look forward to trying this to see the difference. If you want a wonderful coastal option that isn't fish & chips, give Pacific Sushi a try.

Aloha Roll. Yum!

The food is delicious. I got the Nature Nugget from the vegetarian menu. My husband got Miso Soup and Aloha Roll, which is a lunch special. They had a lot of choices such as wine, beer, mixed drinks, sake, etc. The service was top notch. Quick and friendly. The ambiance is clean, friendly, happy, and relaxing. I highly recommend this Japanese restaurant.

My first experience here at Pacific Sushi was so inviting and exciting. The atmosphere is beautiful and intimate lighting. My experience with the servers and chefs was spectacular. Food was on point, everything was prepared beautifully and tasted amazing. I will definitely come back!! My favorite item on the menu was the rogue roll. It's a must try!

I ordered sushi from here for takeout and was pretty surprised at how tasty it was. Its definitely not the best sushi I have ever had (nothing beats sushi from socal) but it hit the spot! The calamari was crispy and fresh and the sushi was tasty. The Rogue Roll was delicious I'd highly recommend!

Known for its amazing sushi but also a great grill. Ordered a rib eye medium rare with wasabi mash potatoes and veggies. Cooked to perfection! Sushi rolls were great too.

This ambiance is a date night must! The superb quality of care was lead by Kelly and follow through provided by Maxx, Steven, Ryan, and Chris! Try the Yakuza, the Hamachi Kama !?! Oh my gosh!!! Give it a try and tell us what you think!

Have been coming here regularly for ten years. I just came in for a burger and a redwoods to take away. The burger was so salty I couldn't eat it. The have changed their recipe for the burger, quite honestly it shows. Will not be ordering that again. Hers a picture of my sushi and how I received it. Pet hair is optional I guess. Yes I got some on my roll. So disappointed I won't be coming again .

Sweet shrimp, tako, and hamachi..

Hubby had the lasagna, I had the shrimp fettuccine and for appetizers- hubby ordered the cheese curds. We also had a mascarpone cake , the bread basket and our dinners came with salad. The lasagna was legit. Hubby loves to cook from scratch so he saw that their sauce was made from scratch. My fettuccine looked made from scratch too! The shrimps weee grilled to perfection and the sauce was so delicious! The bread was made to perfection and came with a huge cup of whipped butter. Service wise- we didn't get to eat in. But the way they packed the food was with care. We can't talk about ambiance either since we didn't get to eat in there. But we may have to go in there one more time before we head back to SoCal. The only negative- we didn't get to take pics! Food was massive and delicious. If you're ever in Brookings- pls give them a try. Everything we had was delicious.

It's pretty unassuming from the outside, but once seated, the wait staff took great care of our party of 15. The food was reasonably priced with decent portions and excellently prepared. Our party ordered a wide variety off the menu, and no one was disappointed. Our waiter was super friendly and attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, and that everything was to our liking. I wish we lived closer so we could frequent more often.

Do yourself a favor and try any of the Superfly specials with it, they'll surprise you. They do have a food menu, but it's a martini bar first and restaurant second. The food was pretty decent, but the knife work, plating and ratios showed the experience behind the stove. I was pleasantly surprised when I was told I could order fish tacos even though it wasn't on the menu. I love a good grilled fish taco so I went for it. The fish was perfectly cooked and seasoned well, the green and orange sauces were good if a little too mild, and the tortillas were the right style but not grilled quite enough. Also, there was very little cilantro or onion and almost no cabbage so they weren't as filling as I would have liked. My wife had the Katsu Chicken Salad. It arrived plated like it was deconstructed: the katsu on a bed of lettuce greens with very thick slices of vegetables around around the plate and the dressing on the side. It was odd, clunky and the katsu was under seasoned. The peanut dressing was divine though, my wife said she could have drank that like milk. There are some other dishes I'd like to try and their drinks were fantastic so we'll definitely try them again.

Terrible Customer Service, Average Food, and an Unkempt Restaurant…read more While visiting Brookings, my husband and I decided to stop at The Hungry Clam for seafood. We had initially considered another restaurant down the road but ultimately chose The Hungry Clam because it offered outdoor seating, and we had our two dogs with us. Our dogs are still young and in training, so we are very mindful of their behavior when taking them out in public. My husband went inside to place our order at the counter while I stayed outside with the dogs. Shortly afterward, a few other dogs arrived, and ours became a little too excited. Rather than disturb other customers or spend our meal trying to manage two rambunctious dogs, we decided it would be better to take our food to go. I went inside and politely asked the woman (with the feather tattoo on her arm) at the counter if we could change our order from "dine-in" to "takeout." Apparently, the woman preparing the food (back in the kitchen area) noticed the ticket had been removed and yelled out to the front counter, asking whether something was being changed. I responded that we were simply changing our order to takeout instead of eating there. The rude woman at the counter made a note on the ticket, and I very politely and sincerely said, "Thank you so very much!" Her response? A curt, dismissive "Yep." No "You're welcome." No acknowledgment of the courtesy. Just a rude, indifferent response that left me wondering why someone with such poor customer service skills is working in a customer-facing position. To be clear, we weren't complaining about anything, asking for special treatment, or making changes to the food itself. We simply wanted our meals packaged to go. It was a minor request, and there was absolutely no reason for the attitude. As for the restaurant itself, the interior appeared dirty and unkempt, and the food was mediocre at best. Nothing about the meal made up for the unpleasant customer service experience. Afterward, I read through several other Yelp reviews and was surprised by how many customers reported similar experiences with rude or unfriendly service. Apparently, our experience was not an isolated one. Good customer service costs absolutely nothing. A little courtesy, professionalism, and appreciation for the people spending their money at your establishment should be the bare minimum. Brookings has other seafood restaurants, and the next time we're in town, we'll gladly spend our money elsewhere. We will not be returning to The Hungry Clam.
