First off, I got my food to go so I can't speak on all of the normal stuff. The service seemed a little slow and not because of the staff but because of their POS setup. They have one POS and several servers trying to do counter checkouts, I was shocked I was able to pay with a card and wasn't expected to use the ATM in the corner. That said, the place looked clean and they have got an unbeatable location. As for what I ordered, the chowder, it was definitely worth the visit. I'd give it a 3.7/4! We stayed nearby for the Redwood attractions. Upon checking in we were told it was a 20 minute wait but this place appeared to be popular so we waited 40+ minutes. Though service was very good, fast, friendly but the food was just ok, most certainly not worth the hype. Chowder was ok, a little bland, shrimp tacos were good but I wouldn't order them again. After waiting 30+ minutes for a table and we're finally seated and given water and menus we were not asked but told we had to go wait again because a larger group came in way behind us. We loved this place! The clam chowder was delicious, and the hot chocolate was a perfect addition. I ordered the fish and chips and thought they were excellent and the portions were generous, too. In town for the night and looking for a good meal. I found the Chart Room, loved the location which is close to the water. (Bonus...Sea Lions) Server was alright, not to friendly. I loved my view of Sea Lions while eating. I had the Clam Chowder, which wasn't that great. I also had a BLT which came with fries. I feel like it was overpriced. We asked about the tax, and the awful server replied "We have tax here in California, hun" in a tone suggesting that she was somehow above us just because we're Asian, as if we haven't lived in California for years! Had dinner there this evening (June 19, 2026). The wait staff was great.. but the food was way too expensive for what you get. My granddaughter had the $26.00 hamburger with fries, my advice is to stick to the burger if you are going to eat there. My $55 Rockfish dinner meal was mostly brown rice, which was luke warm, 3 spears of asparagus and then a piece of rockfish perched on top of a plate of brown rice. Also the wait time for the food was very very long. The view was fabulous of course.. and the staff was very great.. but I will stick to an appetizer in the future. read more

Service was a bit slow, but our server was good enough and got all of our orders right, refilled drinks. Fried mushrooms were great for an appetizer and there was more than enough for a party of four! Clam chowder bread bowl, salmon sandwich, cold crab sandwich, and fish tacos with sides of coleslaw were all enjoyed. FYI's: 3% credit card charge definitely sucks, so keep that in mind or have cash. The fries and coleslaw were alright. I also ordered a cup of clam chowder, it was a bit thick but tasty. My friend ordered Deep fried Shrimp & Fries with slaw. There was only got 6 shrimp! They were not even colossal, just average size! Definitely would expect more perfection, quality and quantity considering the prices we paid! This small-town restaurant has a beautiful view of the ocean. My husband and I ate here twice during our time in Crescent City. On night one, we had Fish, Shrimp, chips, and clams, all of which were amazing. They also had non-alcoholic beer, which I greatly appreciated. If you want a good fish and chips place, this is it. Some good views of the ocean and harbor. Price point is average. The grilled fish tacos were great. The coleslaw was good, the tater sauce was good. The seafood combo was average size. The quality was great. The cod was fried perfectly, the scallops fried perfectly (not over done), the fried shrimp was average size, but they nailed the frying, it had just the right texture, which is hard to achieve. The fries were crispy. The clam chowder was thick and creamy, not to much potato. Each plate that went by looked good. You can get the seafood combo grilled as well, I bet that is great if you're watching what you eat. Just saw the crab Louie salad go by and that looked great as well. Because all of the table seat four or more people, they put couples together at the same table like a German Biergärten. They also don't seat you. We were pleasantly surprised with the wonderful meal and service we experienced at Chart Room. Our server was so friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding! They had a decent amount of vegetarian items, and the veggie melt in particular was seasoned perfectly. My father-in-law was raving about the clam chowder, which came in a massive bowl and was shared by three people as an appetizer. Make sure to request a seat with a view of the water! We had clam chowder, and fish and chips. The CLAIM CHOWDER WAS AWFUL! It was a huge bowl of white gravy with overcooked potatoes giving it a gritty texture and tiny miniscule bits of clams and nothing else. See photo. We were greated by a super friendly lady and she told us we could sit anywhere. She gave us our menus and we ordered some fish and chips with a side bowl of chowder. The chowder came right away. It was warm and a bit on the bland side. More like a potatoe chowder. 10 minutes later the fish and chips were served. Fast service! The fish and chips were hot and fresh. They tasted great being beer battered. A little on the greasy side, but still really good. The cole slaw was fresh and crunchy but a bit bland also, but not awful. A lot of older people were eating here so I'm guessing they don't spice things up for the older crowd maybe? I'm from Southern Oregon but my husband is not, so whenever we visit my family we look forward to a coast trip to eat good seafood. And it did not disappoint! The food was so tasty and fresh. Prices are a little high but you really get so much food for what you pay and it's perfect. Just outside there were seals and the restaurant is on a peninsula or pier in the harbor. We have been to this restaurant a few times and the food was good. However, today we didn't even wait to be seated. The cashier at the desk didn't even acknowledge we were there. She was cashing out a customer so we waited to the side. She completed their transaction and the left. She proceeded to open a roll of coins, sort some paperwork and then started to straighten the menus without even making eye contact with us. We then proceeded to ask her the process for checking in and she was unwelcoming and it was if we were a bother. We decided to go elsewhere and ended up having a delicious meal in a warm and friendly environment. Overpriced fried food. I got the clam strips, big mistake. I didn't eat half of what they call fried clam strips, and was more like overcooked, dried little bits and pieces of mostly just breading, honestly no clam taste at all. When I asked, waitress said,"yes, they are brought in frozen, breaded". Along with some frozen fries, and totally tasteless cole slaw, all this for a hefty $22. What a waste. My husband and sister had fish and chips, they said fish was just okay, but also hated the slaw. A seafood restaurant, in a fishing marina, and the fish was "just okay". Frozen fries, typical but blah. IF the waitress or the cashier had actually asked us how our meal was, we would have been honest, but no one ever asked, not once! Our 3 meals with two sodas, with a 15% tip out the door was $91 dollars. What an expensive disappointment. Don't go here, and Fishermans's is no better, both are just tourist traps. read more
