Traveling for work where I walked a few miles and spent all day in pants. I ordered a to-go meal on my way to the hotel. Within 12 minutes I received a text that the meal was ready. The host told guests ahead of me that the wait was 25 mins for a table. I ordered Ceasar salad with grilled fish. It was warm and delicious. My favorite brewery of my entire Oregon/California trip. The beer was exceptional and hit the spot after a long day in Redwood National Park. Not only was the beer amazing , the food was sensational. This was a pleasant surprise in a very good way. "Brewing companies" tourist locations can be a mixed bag sometimes. There could be ample food choices, but the execution may not be great. For SeaQuake on this day, they were excellent. The waiting list system is a well oiled machine. They are extremely popular during high season as one of the few main large brewery pub cuisine restaurants. But in the end the longer wait was worth it. The burger was juicy, the chowder on point, the tacos and fish were ample and moist. The beers were crisp. We were really excited to check this place out while visiting from out of town and initially stopped in for drinks with plans to stay for dinner. We had our two young boys with us and specifically asked to sit outside so they could enjoy the yard games. We were seated in a corner that was fully shaded and very windy, making it pretty cold. When we asked if we could move to a sunnier spot, we were told we wouldn't be able to order food there. We decided to keep our original table but temporarily sit in the sun to stay warm. When our server came out, she seemed a little annoyed that we weren't sitting at the original table. After taking our drink order, she asked to close us out right away. This caught us off guard, as we were planning to order another round and then sit down for dinner. That interaction left us feeling unwelcome, so we finished our drinks and chose to go elsewhere for dinner. Nice brewpub! Here on vacation, wanted to try some local brews. We both ended up getting the blackberry wheat beer. Delicious! Ordered cheese curds (so yummy, and def for sharing...more than 2 of us could finish), paniolo pizza , and calamari tacos. Both good, and fresh. I liked the spicy coleslaw on the tacos! While exploring the Redwoods, we went searching for a great restaurant -- and we found it. Red Snapper in the Redwoods delivered! We stopped at Sea Quake Brewing, and I ordered the red snapper, which was absolutely amazing. Served on a bed of rice with tomatoes and lemon butter, it melted in my mouth -- bursting with flavor, freshness, and pure sunshine-y goodness. The service was excellent, and the brewery itself is big, clean, and super welcoming. They even had all the sporting games playing, which made the vibe even better. Well! I returned to SeaQuake during another visit to Crescent City and need to add another star. We dined in this time, which allowed me to ask some questions and customize my order - this made all the difference. Be warned - the plant based options on the menu are still limited, however the majority of the items in the Thai Chicken Salad are vegan so I was able to substitute a plant based burger for the grilled chicken. Although this salad is not unique (quite similar to both the Thai Crunch Salad from California Pizza Kitchen and the Thai Chicken Salad from Cheesecake Factory), it is quite tasty. The tried and true combo of shredded cabbage and carrots, edamame, peanuts, cucumbers, green onions, crispy wontons, rice sticks, and peanut dressing definitely work. It is also BIG. $15 seems steep for a salad, but I promise you won't leave hungry. SeaQuake could still use more plant based menu items, but the ability to customize and our friendly server has improved my opinion and I'd certainly be open to dining here again. read more

Came to see the redwoods, we were staying by Eureka so after spending the day in Jedidiah and Tress off mystery, wanted to get something close by since wasn't sure what would be open by the time we drive back to Eureka. Location is very nice, next to a park and close by the water; outside seating available. We're thinking about it but we have our 7 month old, so sat inside. Inside is spacious and you can tell that I'm sure during peak season, this place is probably very popular and gets packed. It's early October, so imagine hasn't picked up yet. Picked here because wanted something simple and laid back. Got the Hot Honey pizza and wings and they hit the spot. Finished everything, my gf enjoyed her flight of beer. Beer prices were good. We had an enjoyable experience. If you are from out of town, would highly recommend. Especially if you are into craft beers. Our service was good. Pizza completely satisfied us. Hot Honey is a good bet of you are having trouble deciding on which pizza. Either way, next trip to the redwoods, definitely stopping here and bringing more of our crew. read more

They had so much that looked great we ordered two dinners last night because I couldn't decide and then came back again tonight to try another selection. Fantastic Burger Fantastic Mac N Cheese Fantastic Ramen Fantastic chicken Thai Salad Fantastic sweet potato fries. Best Brownie and ice cream I can remember. We are leaving tomorrow so we won't be able to come back and try anything else otherwise I would come back again. Our server (Alecia) was one of the best I have ever had. She told us, in detail, about all the food we we expressed interest in (hence ordering the double meals to try more stuff). What a place. We visited on a Sunday evening in October. We went after visiting the lighthouse that is very close. There were quite a few people. We utilized the online waitlist option so we didn't have to wait for a table. As a self proclaimed beer snob, I was not a fan. I had. A taster tray and the only one I really liked was the lime sour. The food was definitely better than the beer. The cheese curds are awesome and I loved being able to choose two flavors. We chose the cheddar and garlic. My husband ordered the snapper special and he really enjoyed that. I got the special ahi tuna won ton nachos. They were outstanding. We tried the snickerdoodle cookie and carrot cake cocktail for dessert. The cookie was more like a cake and I couldn't taste carrot cake in my cocktail. We could have skipped desert. read more

My husband and I enjoyed lunch at the SeaQuake today. We were in search of some delicious clam chowder and we found it. Their clam chowder had good flavor and clams in every bite. We also shared Rockfish & chips. The batter was good and not thick, so you could taste the fish. They even make their own ketchup. My husband had their Redwood Highway IPA which he enjoyed so much that he took some home and bought a hat to remember his visit. The staff was so nice and made you feel welcome. Exceeded my expectations. Frankly, breweries that serve good food are hard to come by. So when they do serve good food, I remember them. For my one time, first experience here - this takes the cake. For a Tues night in Sept, I was surprised there was such a long line to get a table. We opted for the patio outside and were able to get seated faster. I asked our server (Angel), if I came here one time and could order one entree....what would it be? He immediately responded - "the snapper". Of course, I followed his recommendation ordering the Snapper ($26) and it was better than expected....and what you might expect at a "fine dining" establishment....not at a brewery :) My bride ordered the Drunken Chicken Rice Bowl ($19) and she loved it. BTW....I ordered the Redwood Highway Hazy IPA and enjoyed it so much I took a 6-pack for the road! Came here to explore a bit and glad I did, this place was really cool. Tons of seating, bar area, kids little play area, upstairs, outside, etc. The beer variety was good too. I'm not an IPA person which is what you find every where but they had lagers, browns, and even had a stout. There's plenty here for everyone to find something they like Food wise again solid. Not sure if it's because it's a small city and they fill the void of not having a lot to choose from but they had pizzas, fish n chips, burgers, etc We ordered a few pizzas, calamari and a couple pints as well as a flight. Service was good as well plenty of servers and the atmosphere was a good time. Sports on the tvs, kids playing , people drinking. All in all a good time. There aren't many well rated places to grab a bite to eat in this small town. We headed here and sat at the bar. Ordered beers and food and then the sirens came on over our phone for the tsunami warning... welp, the people who already had their food in got it, but then they started closing down. My Mac and cheese was quite good, I added chicken. It was chilly out so it hit the spot. My husband went for the chowder (they were out of bread bowls). We have been going to Seaquake regularly since it first opened and generally it's been pretty good. The beer on tap is very good and the staff is very friendly. There are some items in the menu that are pretty darn good like the calamari and the pizzas are pretty decent. My concern is it seems the quality of the food has dropped. They used to have some specials that were really good that aren't featured any more and frankly the menu has become rather boring and somewhat mediocre. They used to have cookies that were great-soft, chewy and very tasty. The last few times we tried them they were very dry and underwhelming. There really aren't a lot of menu items that wow you but in fairness it is a small town brew pub and for that they're pretty good. Maybe it's buyer's fatigue or maybe it's the fact that there really aren't any good alternatives in Crescent City. Brookings has better choices in dining but we don't always want to drive a half hour each way to eat there. Maybe I'm expecting too much. Obviously we come here a lot because there is no better place for the freshly brewed craft beer that bears the local flavor as well as this iconic restaurant that is the pride and joy of this sleepy lonely town! The long shoreline of California ends in this naturally created cove where year around temperature hovers at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and rains five months to create only Rain Forest to house and nurture the greenest Red Wood Forest abutting the beautiful mountains and the sea. The water that creates the craft beer is so fresh and abundant that it brings the best tasting beer. The fish comes from local fishermen. The meat from the best beef is served! We came on a weekend, so it was a bit crowded (which honestly just shows how good it is). While we waited for our table, we hung out at the bar and tried one of their handcrafted beers, absolutely delicious! I had never tried cheese curds before, and oh my god... life-changing. We stopped by Sea Quake Brewing after a day at the Redwood forests and had a great time. I started with the PNW Mai Tai which was absolutely delicious. We also tried a beer flight with four different hazy beers, each one more flavorful than the last. If you're into hazies, this is definitely the place to explore some great ones. For food, we started with their calamari which was perfectly crispy with a light, golden batter. Also it came in strips and was hands down, the best calamari I've ever had and I'm not really a fan of this dish, in general. My main course was their Impossible smash burger which was juicy and well seasoned. Even as a meat alternative, it delivered big flavor. Our other entree was the fettuccine pasta dish -- rich, creamy, and incredibly satisfying. We added their blackened shrimp and grilled chicken which really elevated the dish. The service was friendly and attentive, and the vibe was relaxed but lively. Whether you're here for the food, the beer, or just to hang out, Sea Quake delivers on all fronts. Really enjoyed lunch here on Memorial day. There were a lot of people waiting outside so we were prepared to wait, but was pleasantly surprised to be seated right away for our party of three. Restaurant looks and feels great with lots of seating inside and out. Service was also very good. Food arrived quickly for how busy they were. A huge space very close to the shore right across the street from some park that is literally on the water. There's a convenient parking lot in front with free parking. It was pretty chilly when we got here even though it was mid July, so we didn't explore the outside seating and went right in. it's quite a big space with two floors. We were seated in the top floor which is much more quiet but still has a nice view over the bottom floor which is much busier (in a good way) and is where the bar is. The food was surprisingly good, I liked the ramen and other options looked good too on the tables near us. The service could have been faster but was overall ok. I tried a flight of their IPAs but they were too bitter for me. If you like bitter IPAs that might be your place. read more

SeaQuake was a solid find when we spent one night in Crescent City as we made our way up the coastline. They had a really great variety of beers and I really enjoyed their hazy ipa. Servers were nice and the establishment itself was fairly large, simple modern decor, and was well kept. The food menu looked spectacular, with tons of variety, but unfortunately much of what we ordered sounded better than it tasted. By far the best thing we ordered was the cheese curds which were great. However the fish and chips weren't that great and neither was the burger. Both dishes felt lacking, not horrible, but just "meh" - the descriptions make it sound much better touting locally sourced ingredients. I'd definitely swing by here again on my way through town and have a couple beers, but perhaps try something different on the menu or go elsewhere for dinner. read more
