We stopped by SeaQuake Brewing in Crescent City for lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The brewery has the clean, modern feel you'd expect from a newer brewpub. It's bright, welcoming, and a comfortable place to relax after a morning of exploring the coast. The service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. The food was good across the board--our burgers were juicy and flavorful, the nachos were piled high with toppings and easily shareable, and the crispy tater tots and sweet potato fries were the perfect sides. We also sampled one of their lighter beers, which was crisp, refreshing, and paired well with lunch. If you're passing through Crescent City or spending time in the area, SeaQuake Brewing is a solid stop for good food, quality craft beer, and excellent service in a clean, comfortable setting. My bf and I arrived in Crescent City towards the evening just before sunset and wanted to get dinner next to the ocean for the view. We chose Seaquake since it was one of the few restaurants that was open with a good rating. The wait time was estimated to be an hour and a half, so we put our names down and just ended up walking to the beach to kill time, but they actually confirmed our table in less than an hour. We ordered fish and chips and coconut prawns, and they were both delicious! I dare say these could be the best fish and chips I've had, but I do like the panko crust more than beer battered. The fish was very crispy, moist, and well-seasoned. The coconut prawns were also done well with the coconut being not too cloyingly sweet and the prawns again having a nice crispy texture. The salsa on the side was a nice refreshing complement too. For drinks, I ordered the battery point blonde ale and guava mango margarita. Both were very good. I should have gotten a few cans of the battery point. My bf got the redwood highway hazy IPA and orange sunstar. Overall, this was a great spot. The service was great and our server was very friendly in offering recommendations. I will add this spot to my list of places that I would come back to next time I'm in Crescent City. read more

Lucky for us one of the few restaurants open on Mondays in Crescent City was SeaQuake Brewery. What a fantastic find. We got in just before the lunch rush. They have outdoor seating and regular tables as well as high top tables inside. We chose a high top table that was comfortable and afforded us a view of the bay. Our server came quickly and was professional, friendly, and made us feel welcomed. They have a great beer selection and a decent amount of specialty drinks. My wife had a peach lemon drop martini and I chose the Pebble Beach light ale. Both drinks were great. For lunch, we ordered a Thai Chicken Salad and the Carne (meat) pizza. Again, they knocked it out of the park. I am usually not a fan of thin crust pizzas, but I really enjoyed this one. All the flavors worked great together. Overall, it was a very good meal. read more

Solid Crescent City dining experience! It was crowded on a Monday when we went. Summer is their busy season. The building is huge, next to a skate park and the ocean. The rest of the town looks kind of drab. The beer was okay. We really didn't like some of the flavors from the flight. I'm sure others enjoy it but we weren't fans. The portions were generally large! This was hands down some of the best food we had on the west coast! Traveled here to hike and this was one of the only spots in town. This place had a great vibe and was packed every time we went, but never had an outrageous wait. The calamari strips are a MUST. The breading had great flavor and every-time we had them (we went several times) the calamari was cooked perfectly! They had a fish special the night I went that I think was snapper over jasmine rice with blistered tomatoes. Hands down one of the most delicately delicious, fresh meals I had during my stay. Their wings were also delicious. Crispy, but also so juicy. Fish and chips seems to be the go to here, which was VERY good but I will say, it's the same breading as the calamari so I'd order one or the other next time because it was similar in taste. But again, delicious, cooked perfect, and fresh! My girlfriend got the fish tacos which she loved! I really wish I got merch but they were out of our sizes! They sell so much of their beer there as well as clothes/hats/keychains etc. to go! Almost forgot, they make homemade root beer which is SO good. They serve it without ice and it is so smooth and delicious. Probably the best root beer I've had. The wait told us this was the place to be! Cute local spot in walking to the pier. They have indoor and outdoor seating areas. Inside has a bar with 2 TV's and an upstairs area. Our waitress was very nice! She was patient with us reviewing all the different types of pizzas available. Decided to go with the Seaquake wings. The fish tacos were delicious, the fish of the day (Battery Point Snapper) was tender and juicy, although a bit bland, with the most sweet cherry tomatoes ever, and the mac n'cheese was pretty good too. This place was busy on a Thursday night at 6 pm. We checked in and were seated after ~15 minutes. Service was quick and friendly. The restaurant was clean, spacious, and comfortable with a cool loft area for more seating. Just managed to snag a spot in the parking lot, but plenty of free street parking around too. read more

My favorite brewery of my entire Oregon/California trip. The beer was exceptional and hit the spot after a long day in Redwood National Park. Not only was the beer amazing , the food was sensational. This was a pleasant surprise in a very good way. "Brewing companies" tourist locations can be a mixed bag sometimes. There could be ample food choices, but the execution may not be great. For SeaQuake on this day, they were excellent. The waiting list system is a well oiled machine. They are extremely popular during high season as one of the few main large brewery pub cuisine restaurants. But in the end the longer wait was worth it. The burger was juicy, the chowder on point, the tacos and fish were ample and moist. The beers were crisp. They did ask if we wanted to sit outside but we preferred inside since it was a little cold and breezy. They sat us inside and it was still quick to be seated. They even have upstairs seating. It was lively but relaxing. I do a cup of the soup of the day which was creamy chicken parm. It was quite good and yummy. I got the Cali burger which was good and delicious and filling. We also got the Paniolo pizza which was a bbq pulled pork with pineapples and La Carne pizza which was all meet. They were both a really good size. Enough for 2 people to share if they wanted. We got the cheese curds and they were solid! My husband and I split the drunken chicken nachos and they were so good. If you are in Crescent City this restaurant is great! It looks new, not sure how long it's been there but it's a pretty big restaurant with upstairs and downstairs and even outside seating. When we got there, it was packed and quite a long line to get a table. We stopped at Sea Quake Brewing, and I ordered the red snapper, which was absolutely amazing. Served on a bed of rice with tomatoes and lemon butter, it melted in my mouth -- bursting with flavor, freshness, and pure sunshine-y goodness. Well! I returned to SeaQuake during another visit to Crescent City and need to add another star. We dined in this time, which allowed me to ask some questions and customize my order - this made all the difference. Be warned - the plant based options on the menu are still limited, however the majority of the items in the Thai Chicken Salad are vegan so I was able to substitute a plant based burger for the grilled chicken. Although this salad is not unique (quite similar to both the Thai Crunch Salad from California Pizza Kitchen and the Thai Chicken Salad from Cheesecake Factory), it is quite tasty. The tried and true combo of shredded cabbage and carrots, edamame, peanuts, cucumbers, green onions, crispy wontons, rice sticks, and peanut dressing definitely work. It is also BIG. $15 seems steep for a salad, but I promise you won't leave hungry. SeaQuake could still use more plant based menu items, but the ability to customize and our friendly server has improved my opinion and I'd certainly be open to dining here again. read more

Location is very nice, next to a park and close by the water; outside seating available. We're thinking about it but we have our 7 month old, so sat inside. Inside is spacious and you can tell that I'm sure during peak season, this place is probably very popular and gets packed. It's early October, so imagine hasn't picked up yet. Picked here because wanted something simple and laid back. Got the Hot Honey pizza and wings and they hit the spot. Finished everything, my gf enjoyed her flight of beer. Beer prices were good. We had an enjoyable experience. If you are from out of town, would highly recommend. Especially if you are into craft beers. Our service was good. Pizza completely satisfied us. What a place. We visited on a Sunday evening in October. We went after visiting the lighthouse that is very close. There were quite a few people. We utilized the online waitlist option so we didn't have to wait for a table. As a self proclaimed beer snob, I was not a fan. I had. A taster tray and the only one I really liked was the lime sour. The food was definitely better than the beer. The cheese curds are awesome and I loved being able to choose two flavors. We chose the cheddar and garlic. My husband and I enjoyed lunch at the SeaQuake today. We were in search of some delicious clam chowder and we found it. Their clam chowder had good flavor and clams in every bite. We also shared Rockfish & chips. The batter was good and not thick, so you could taste the fish. They even make their own ketchup. Exceeded my expectations. Frankly, breweries that serve good food are hard to come by. So when they do serve good food, I remember them. For my one time, first experience here - this takes the cake. For a Tues night in Sept, I was surprised there was such a long line to get a table. We opted for the patio outside and were able to get seated faster. I asked our server (Angel), if I came here one time and could order one entree....what would it be? He immediately responded - "the snapper". Of course, I followed his recommendation ordering the Snapper ($26) and it was better than expected....and what you might expect at a "fine dining" establishment....not at a brewery :) My bride ordered the Drunken Chicken Rice Bowl ($19) and she loved it. I'm not an IPA person which is what you find every where but they had lagers, browns, and even had a stout. There's plenty here for everyone to find something they like Food wise again solid. Ordered beers and food and then the sirens came on over our phone for the tsunami warning... welp, the people who already had their food in got it, but then they started closing down. Obviously we come here a lot because there is no better place for the freshly brewed craft beer that bears the local flavor as well as this iconic restaurant that is the pride and joy of this sleepy lonely town! The long shoreline of California ends in this naturally created cove where year around temperature hovers at 60 degrees Fahrenheit and rains five months to create only Rain Forest to house and nurture the greenest Red Wood Forest abutting the beautiful mountains and the sea. The water that creates the craft beer is so fresh and abundant that it brings the best tasting beer. The fish comes from local fishermen. The meat from the best beef is served! SeaQuake was a solid find when we spent one night in Crescent City as we made our way up the coastline. They had a really great variety of beers and I really enjoyed their hazy ipa. Servers were nice and the establishment itself was fairly large, simple modern decor, and was well kept. The food menu looked spectacular, with tons of variety, but unfortunately much of what we ordered sounded better than it tasted. By far the best thing we ordered was the cheese curds which were great. However the fish and chips weren't that great and neither was the burger. Both dishes felt lacking, not horrible, but just "meh" - the descriptions make it sound much better touting locally sourced ingredients. I'd definitely swing by here again on my way through town and have a couple beers, but perhaps try something different on the menu or go elsewhere for dinner. read more
