Hot food is decent- but every time I get the salad bar something is spoiled. Usually the peaches or baby corn - they need to get on top of making sure to throw out old stuff and date it- so there's no surprise rotten food in your mouth. read more

September 27, 2024, Cave Junction, OR We stopped here after a tour and hike at the Oregon Caves, so we were a bit hungry, and pizza sounded good. Perfect choice! We ordered a small Deli Delight Pizza (linguica, mushrooms, pepperoni, olives, and pork sausage, $22). The pizza was delicious. Small was definitely enough for both of us, and we had some left to take home and munch on later. Their pizza is unique in that the sauce and toppings are spread all the way to the edge of the dough. The pizza is cut it into perfect-sized pieces, which they call the "party cut". From their website: "Owners Jerry and Bertha Miller tell the story: When they served their first pizza at the grand opening in 1975, a large crowd of helpers, friends and neighbors were present and waiting hungrily. So they chopped that first pizza into many pieces, so everyone could have a bite. It turned out to be a great way to serve pizza, especially to large parties." Wild River Brewing and Pizza Company, OR - September 27, 2024 We came in around 2 pm on a Friday after doing a cave tour and hike at the Oregon Caves National Park. This is a great brewery/restaurant. It definitely has a mountain room pizza parlor feel to it. There are trees painted on the ceiling, plenty of seating, and a game area for the kids. We got the deli delight pizza which came with linguiça, sausage, mushrooms, and olives. One of unique things about the pizza was it's cut into nice diamond-shaped bite-size pieces. Small pizza was $22 and I got a 8 ounce pour of a tasty Jerry's pale ale. Everything was great. The service was very friendly and the pizza came out quickly. read more

Very disappointed with their pizza, I tried to order a thick crust pizza, unfortunately they don't make their own pizza dough that I can see, they tried to use two thin layers to make a thick crust, outcome was horrible, I'll never go back there again. read more

Cool home town feel with some cool local brews on tap. We ordered our pizza to go and got the opportunity to hang out and try some of the local brews before our pizza was ready. We all know that pizza is best fresh out of the oven but we didnt get around to eating this pizza until about 2 hours later but it was still really good pizza. Also a big fan of how they slice their pizza into small squares, it made for good snacking. And before we knew it we ate the whole pizza. Service sucks. They took away the waiters and made it self service. You have to order upfront and get your own utensils. No one comes by to check if everything is okay. Had to get up and order drinks when needed a refill had to get up and get my own take out box for left overs. Too bad because I love the food. OK, here goes: this place sucks! This place is a rip off! Went there for two pizzas - one vegetarian and one meat pizza. The bill was $85 for two pizzas! OMG what a rip! This was a great "pit stop" for us on a long drive between N. California and Ashland, OR. Great beer, a surprisingly large menu, including tempting pizzas (though we both went for equally tempting subs), a well-stocked salad bar, and plenty of locals brews on tap as well. We were there sort of on "off hours," maybe about 2pm or so for a late lunch, so it wasn't crowded at all, but I liked the feel of the place... Like a camping lodge out in the middle of the woods (not tooooooo far off!!) with long, community tables and plenty of outdoorsy, "just got back from a day on the trails/rapids" kind of feel to it. You place your order up at the front counter, then wait to be called to get it, and enjoy a simple, tasty meal. Super reasonable pricing, My sub was great-- STUFFED, which is just how we both left once we were done!! Try Wild River out... The absence competition almost always drives the bar down. There is very little competition and thus the bar is pretty much laying on the ground with weeds growing up around it. If you need food in Cave Junction, this may be about as good as any, but that's where the usage of the word good stops. If you've ever bought the pre-made pizza dough and a can of tomato paste from the grocery store and attempted to make your own pizza at home, that pretty much what this one reminds me of. The crust was thin, but not a "thin-crust" with a strong tomato paste presence and topped with semi melted glops of mozzarella. School cafeteria-esk would be my other description. The pepperonis with rolled and slightly charred edges were the only highlight I found. I went with the lunch buffet special and while fairly reasonable in price, it just came up short in quality. The lettuce on the salad bar did not seem overly fresh and the bug holes in the leaves further hurt the appeal. The salad toppings, while all accounted for, also appeared a little lack luster and many as if they may have made an appearance on the previous day's buffet. In addition to pizza and salad, there are fries and chicken nuggets on the buffet. If you're passing through, I recommend you keep on passing. read more

This definitely appeared to be the most popular place in town. And while we really enjoyed live music on a Saturday night and the mini-arcade, the pizza was only average. The restaurant is very basic and definitely set up for groups with long tables. Absolutely the kind of place where you would go with your kids' sports team to celebrate a victory. Our biggest issue was choosing a pizza. It seemed to take us forever because many of their menu items were a bit odd. Next time I'll probably just make my own, but it was strange considering the simple surroundings to have such irregular menu items. We ended up with their version of Hawaiian and Taco pizza and a basic cheese for the kiddos. A few things that stand out are the criss-cut pattern, rather than slices. It makes everything into nice two-bite sized pieces. And my favorite thing on the menu was their house made root beer ($1.50, including refills). They have a brewery on-site and make both beer and root beer, which you can also purchase to-go. Mr. K enjoyed his local brew too. For a family meal, definitely one of the better options in Cave Junction. read more

Three Stars is really rather generous. My wife and I took our grandson to their lunch buffet. It was barely mediocre and quite disappointing. There were 3 kinds of pizza. The pepperoni pizza was burnt and all three types were cold. There was a stromboli I didn't try. They had some kind of chicken chunks and fries. Both cold and bland and the fries were over cooked. Not this location. We have tried the others and this one is the bottom. However this one did have soda that tasted good so that was a plus. Appetizers were awesome and HOT. Traveling for work makes finding quality food hard, but I always stop in here and I think every visit gets more and more glorious. They're quick, easy, tasty, and the price is fair. I stopped in today, got lucky and hit a slow time, and the pizza was enchanted with loads of fresh basil & green pepper. Extra sauce and I added garlic powder, black pepper, crushed red pepper, and some tasty dispensable ranch to dip in. A delightful affair. My love added a handsome amount of Parmesan cheese (see evidence) and I wanted to share with you (yes, you!) that this place is worth a visit especially if you have good company and have a taste buds for some good local beer on tap. Who would have thought the number one bar food restaurant in the world would be right in Cave Junction? Come for the pizza, stay for the glorious, succulent, perfectly seasoned fried chicken or the absolute best chicken wings I have ever tasted. The Augustino wines they offer pair well with their offerings, but the star as far as drink goes is their house-brewed kolsch. Yes yes yes...the beer is good!!! I've been to a few of their other locations, but this is my fave. You can sit back and stare at the ceiling for quite a while soaking in all the odd painted characters floating around in the clouds. I even enjoyed the semi-grumpy lady at the front register. I think thats just how she is. It adds to the character of the place! She's just a bit rough around the edges. I definately was a fan of my pizza since I got my own. And the diagonal cuts made them into the perfect bite sizes. I still regret not bringing a case of their beer home. They had it at a pretty decent price. read more

This was the only place open in CJ, we wanted to try out a few other places that had higher ratings but we got to town late. The place was packed. They have a nice large screen TV they were playing the fights when we came in. We ordered our pizza. We also ordered some for our friends. The pizza's were good, and the service was good but I don't know if they were completely understaffed, or if it was an off night but the place was dirty. No one was out to bus any of the tables, I wanted a salad, but the salad bar looked trashed. Like a bunch of kids came through and were sloppy, and had stuff all around it. The bathroom, was the same. But like I said, they may have been understaffed and been busy making pizza, and taking orders, and etc. I don't go here enough to make a judgement based on one time. So for now it is going to be 3 stars, service was wonderful. I would go back again, the pizza we got was good. I hope it was a fluke about the cleanliness. I bet it is because it was so packed. I also like the way they slice their pizza. Perfect if you are sharing, especially if you have little kids. I will raise my stars if we come again, and it is not really dirty. read more

The crust was the perfect thin crust that you can have any piece of the pie and the crust has a nice crisp crunch without being crumbly. Ordered a large Spirit of America, well done because the pictures on Yelp varies so much with many looking grossly undercooked. It was the right choice. It was near perfect but $38? In Cave Junction? WTF? The 'fish and chips', 2 orders of them. They were repulsive. Fish was dark, smelled like fish, tasted like bad oil and bad fish. Fries were just as bad, soggy oil. Don't buy this. Go down the road a bit to the sausage place. The staff? The ones i met should not have a job there. RUDE. Rude to my dad who tried to order all this over the phone, and rude to me who picked it up. Perfectly Nice to the local regular people there that they appeared to know but that won't sustain any customer base.
