Fried Mushrooms
John E.

Nice little addition to Taylor's. My wife and I have been in a couple of times. The bars lies, the beer is cold. The food is reasonably priced. We'll call it upscale bar food. Fried mushrooms were delicious. My wife had a Montecristo sandwich and very much enjoyed it. I've had a burger and it was quite tasty. This is a wonderful addition to our towns eating opportunities. It's nice to have a place that you can eat. Dinner open past four! Definitely recommend!

They absolutely loved the new coconut shrimp, and the fried chicken was perfectly crunchy and delicious. Beyond the food, the drinks are amazing and the entire evening was well-executed. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the service was fast without ever feeling rushed. It is a fantastic spot in Medford for a great meal. Highly recommend!

What I remember most is how nice the place looked -- it has a fun mix of modern and rustic decor and very clean restrooms! My husband and I ordered the shareable mac and cheese along with two entrees, the Green Goddess salad and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with tater tots. The portion sizes were very generous. I appreciated that they gave us two small plates to split the mac and cheese, and by the time we got to our entrees, we were already getting a little full! For the salad, I really appreciated how well-seasoned and prepared the tofu was. The tofu had a nice light, crisp coating and was flavorful, and the salad had a nice mix of crunchy cucumbers and lettuce mixed with sliced grape tomatos, feta, and red onions. The salad was not over-dressed and made it easy to take home leftovers. My husband also enjoyed his sandwich, being the second time he has ordered it. The chicken is crispy and well-seasoned. I especially liked the tater tots -- no greasiness and just the right amount of salt. Our waitress was super sweet and kind checking up on us as well. Highly recommend and definitely a place I would come back to on our annual Medford family visits!

I ordered a burger and my husband got the spicy chicken sandwich. The burger was pretty good, just a standard smash patty with a potato bun. The fries were pretty good as well. There's a cool wood-fired oven for pizza, which was a fun process to watch. I ordered the patty melt, which is something I never order, but I was in a rush to decide & did one of those, "I'll have what he's having" things when my husband ordered his patty melt. We're big seltzer water people, so when we went to order a seltzer and the lady told us it was free and self-serve, I was elated. The food didn't take very long & it was tasty looking! The sandwich was cut in half with smashed burger meat overflowing past the bread. It was glorious. The part of the plate that wasn't dominated by melty goodness was filled with with well-seasoned and crisp homemade fries. I could smell how delicious everything was the moment the moment the plate was set down in front of me. Flavor & texture of all the things exceeded expectations. The patty melt had layers of crispy fried onions that made for a lovely and tasty first-bite surprise, & continued to bring joy with each subsequent bite. Every there was incredibly nice and friendly. Dining there was so easy and lovely. Would love to come back the next time we pass through!

Happy Hour Wednesday to Sunday 2pm-6pm ($4 pints during HH) I had the toasted coconut chocolate porter, shared the dough bites off the HH menu along with the ahi entree and tiramisu cheesecake with my lady. All were very tasty. Nothing leftover! Plenty of large tables for groups and a family friendly vibe Will definitely stop by again in the further if timing of my next road trip works out to do so.

Host staff was very hospitable which is always a plus upon arrival. HH was happening when we arrived so we chose the herb dough bites off that menu, along with 2 house chardonnays. Dough bites were underwhelming to say the least. Some were hard and some were soft and chewy. They were served with a grainy Dijon mustard and some sort of an aioli sauce. Marinara sauce would have been more appropriate. On to the entrees. I chose the ahi tuna salad and my hubby went with a basic burger. His opinion ... just a burger. Fries were fresh and yummy. My ahi tuna salad came with passion fruit vinaigrette and unfortunately it was super tart and not good at all. Make sure to have them give you a taste before you commit. I asked for a side of balsamic dressing but unfortunately the passion fruit one was already overwhelming it. I know not to order seafood in bar and grill but I thought I was safe with it incorporated in a salad. My advice ... stick with the basics ... beer and a burger !!!

I also selected a cup of NW clam chowder. The chowder arrived after a few and it was pretty good. The rest of the food took the entire first half of the World Cup match to emerge from the kitchen. Our server was apologetic, but it just was not crowded. I had a good view of the kitchen and the 2 guys back there were very relaxed, not hurried at all. The Mack cheese was not really Mac n cheese but more like buttered O'Dells with some cheese added later. Brussels sprouts were great. My tacos were not so good. The rice and beans were tasteless even though I loaded up on the cholula. Rice had some cheese slices mixed in. Somehow they failed to melt. The corn tortillas were 3.5" in diameter, which is really small for those of you who are dimensionally challenged. I had to deconstruct them and make 4 smaller tacos. The fish (tasteless) was not fried nor really blackened. The spouses bowl was completely unlike the photo on the table tent. The ingredients also differed, most significantly the lack of beans. The server was working hard, as he appeared to be alone in his pursuits, although there was another guy bussing tables. We only selected the Ram because it was open after 9pm and many places in Medford were not. We will not be returning, regardless of the time of night.
