Best thin crust tavern style pizza we've had in a long time, in a very unexpected location. My wife, her mom, and I had just crossed the Oregon-California border into Oregon and used the nearby Dollar Tree in Brookings to be our end point on our fourth day Internet access had been spotty throughout our trip through Big Sur and then Redwood parks, so used a combination of Google maps and Yelp to find nearby businesses, just for fun. Fat Cat showed up with high ratings. None of us were particularly hungry, but their ratings for thin-crust pizza piqued my interest, so we adjusted our plans and walked in. There was one employee (Ian) working on this mid afternoon time on hump day, so had to get his attention while he was working in the back. You place and pay for your order first, so ordered a medium thin crust pineapple/ham ($15). Not knowing what to expect, I asked if the pizza crust could be made well done. We sat down at the fast food booths, and didn't have to wait long. When the pizza came, all of us knew immediately by the sight and smell that it was going to be great. The crust was the perfect thinness, and the toppings were generous. Our plan was to sample some of it and then take the rest back, but the three of us ended eating every single piece. It was that good. We learned a bit more about the business from Ian. It used to be a franchise pizza joint, but the owner decided to stop being a franchisee, and create a local name. 'Gato Gordo' was thrown out as an early name, with the final name being chosen as the winner from an early Christmas party secret Santa gift. The pizza crust is consistently made by a dough sheeter at a low thinness setting. This might be sacrilegious, but I think I prefer this way vs the hand tossed NY style that is way more prevalent (and way more expensive). read more

We got two pizzas on gluten free crust, and let me tell you the gluten free crust is the best I've ever had. We ordered via phone to pick up which went very smoothly. It was a very cute little restaurant inside too though, and I wouldn't have minded eating in at all either. Lots of photoshopped cat decor which I appreciate instead of AI art. After a long journey to reach the glorious Southern Oregon Coast, we were NOT ready to spend hours in the kitchen of our beautiful beach house to feed our hungry crew. That's where Fat Cat saved the day. A quick perusal of their diverse (feline-tilted) menu yielded perfect options. We went with a large basic cheese pizza for our simpler palates and a pepperoni and veggie combo for the our more refined diners. (They have many other options). We capped this off with an order of breadsticks and large quantities of extra marinara dipping sauce. Food for our masses was promptly delivered, reasonably priced and quite perfect for our needs the evening of our arrival. I bought a take and bake lasagne for two and a salad one night when I didn't want to cook. I popped it into the oven and it all melted to nothingness. What a great place for delicious pizza! (Don't bother with the other pizza place on the other side of the shopping center - choose Fat Cat Pizza always!) They were so nice at the counter, offered another topping when I asked for no bell peppers on the Momma Kitty, and had great customer service. It's more of a take-out spot, but there were 3 or 4 small booths to sit and eat (which is what we did). The cat decor was cute and fun to look at while we waited. We ordered pizza to go and it was ok. We ordered a pepperoni and veggie. Both were pretty greasy. If I were in college and hung over, this pizza would be outstanding. Value wasn't bad. $45 for 2 large pizzas with a few modifications. Cheaper than Round Table for sure, but not near as good. I will say Fat Cat is far better than Wild River Pizza though. Staff was friendly and they were really quick to have the pizzas ready. Until Round Table comes to town your options are limited. read more

We ordered three pizzas and had them cook them for us instead of take and bake, it was only a dollar more per pie. The pizza was decent, it has more cheese than I would like, which made the topping part seem like it needed to be cooked longer even though the crust was nice and crisp. We chose the original crust and it wasn't too thick or too thin, but there wasn't much rise to it on the edge of the pizza. This place is great in a pinch. The staff are lovely. The service is great as they are quick and helpful. I would eat their pizza again and just ask for less cheese. read more

Superb!! Great pie. I got the thin crust with double pep, mushroom, and pepperocinis. Perfectly baked, corn meal on the bottom, not greasy at all! It was about 15 minutes from order to ready.
