Tartar sauce. It's what they give for 2 large pieces of fish. I ordered 4, and the owner refused to give me an additional condiment

I ordered a large 4 piece fish and chips. When I got back to the hotel, I realized that there was a tiny container of tartar sauce, which might be enough for 2 pieces. I politely drove back to the restaurant and the owner told me I had to pay extra for an additional tartar sauce. I said that is maybe enough for 2, and he just rudely looked at me and basically said I had to pay. Wow! It's a condiment and it's the principal of the matter.

My third review in so many years because I am literally running out of the new restaurant to review. Since we played golf in freezing weather, we wanted to warm up before trying out nearby restaurants and Azalea's annual 3 million lighting ceremony tonight. The service and tasty cocktails were amazing and thick, starchy Clam Chowder was the perfect way to get warm. The craft hazy IPA was served chilled and sweet. Fill it to the brim yes sir!

(Updated to show pictures) Nice day down in Brookings, we had lunch at Fat Irish Pub down by the harbor. Cute and cozy little place, we chose to sit outside so we could bring Sophie on the patio with us. We split the Ruben, it was packed with house-cured corned beef, swiss, sauerkraut & a delicious handcrafted Louie dressing. Grilled to melty perfection on marbled rye. I ate mine with a side of clam chowder and the man opted for their wedge cut fries. I washed mine down with a local apple cider they had on tap and I can't remember what Pinky had. It was all very tasty and of course Sophie made friends with everyone on the patio.

Dear Fat Irish Kitchen and Pub, THESE are fish tacos! Not what your served when we were there recently. Please improve.

The staff here is very friendly. They have a very local crowd for a following mostly I believe because of the sports bar section. Their food is very good if you are looking for comfort food. Lots of choices like Irish beef stew, fish and chips and their famous corned beef French fries (I can't think of the official name but good) great selection at the bar (full bar) nothing below average in my opinion. Service was great and prices were medium to high.

Fish tacos in Taco Tuesday yummy!

Taco Tuesday is great. Come for their Fatty Hour 3-7 Sunday - Thursday Indoor and outdoor seating. Pets are welcomed. It can get busy at times but worth the wait.

What a great pub and restaurant. We were greeted as we walked in and sat immediately. We ordered drinks right away and was served quickly. Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great suggestions. They were out of the Bangers and Mash but chose the Corned Beef tacos and my wife had the Fish and Chips, both meals tasted great. This is a local place with Irish decorations around the walls. It was quiet even though the bar was full.

Came by for a quick supper after a long day of travel and putting the boat in the marina. I love the theme of the restaurant and the menu. Service was a little slow and we heard other table's complain because of the wait time. I guess they were especially busy that day. Fish and chips is where it's at after being on the water and not catching anything ourselves. The fish was in nice , thick pieces. Overall good experience and would like to go back for taco Tuesday when they have deals.

Good food, fast service, fun atmosphere. The fish and chips are very good with a bit of spicyness to the batter.

Both really good and made in their stone oven. We also got the calmari for appetizers. Calamari cooked perfectly, not rubbery. Light batter, crispy, and seasoned really well that gave it great flavor. Others in the group ordered a clam chowder bread bowl, chicken Parmesan, fish & chips and shrimp & chips. The overall consensus was good. Casual atmosphere and perfect location. It's at the boardwalk near an arcade. During the day, there's also ice cream and coffee nearby. Couldn't get any pictures.

We came down to Brookings to take care of some business and decided to stop in for lunch and a drink afterwards. We weren't especially hungry so we ordered our usual favorites (clam chowder for me and steamer clams for the fellow) that combo usually helps us decide whether or not we want to return, without breaking the bank on a new spot. Our server was delightful, she was kind and attentive without being overbearing. Our order took a little longer than expected for what we ordered but we didn't mind, we had some nice blackberry cider they had on tap to tide us over. I was a little disappointed when our meals came out and I didn't get a slice of bread with my bowl of clam chowder like the fellow did with his steamers, but we were able to buy a half batard for $5 and that was perfect for us to split. It came out warm with a side of butter and complimented the chowder much nicer than the oyster crackers they originally brought out would have. In fact I recommend getting the bread if you order the chowder, it almost stole the show. The chowder was delicious, could've been warmer but still very tasty, the potatoes were cut super thin, and the clams were plump and tender and tasted fresh, they did add bacon but not in overwhelming amounts, and I thought it was spiced perfectly. I only added a few shakes of red pepper flakes to finish it. The fellow thought his steamer clams/mussels were marvelous, with a very flavorful broth, and he loved the fact that he was allowed to mix them. They made a good first impression on us, we will definitely be returning for dinner and ordering a couple of pizzas and perhaps a salad as well. Who knows, they may prove to be one of our new favorite spots.

My wife ordered the Agedashi Tofu & Pork Gyozas and I had a couple of rolls, the spicy Rouge and a plain Jane salmon, avocado and cucumber roll. Everything was fantastic. The fish was super fresh, the tofu cooked perfectly and the gyoza sauce tangy and yummy. We only had a couple of small issues, more personal preferences really. 1 - my wife enjoyed the tofu, but the dish is described as having an agedashi broth but really it was more of a thicker style sauce smeared on the plate the tofu was placed on. It didn't really have a true broth. 2 - the habanero marmalade was not spicy. The roll was described as a spicy roll, but the marmalade was sweet. Unfortunately, the jalapeños were sweet as well. I know they can't control capsaicin in peppers, but that marmalade needs way more habanero. It would be WONDRFUL on toast though! Note: looking at their menu now they have updated this roll to replace the marmalade with a "tangy sesame". I look forward to trying this to see the difference. If you want a wonderful coastal option that isn't fish & chips, give Pacific Sushi a try.

The place was super busy when I arrived there were people waiting outside, which is always a good sign but since I was dining solo, I got seated right away with no wait at all. The atmosphere inside is warm, cozy, and welcoming, with really cool décor featuring cars and car photos that give the restaurant personality and a fun, nostalgic vibe. It feels comfortable rather than fancy, the kind of place where you can relax, sip your coffee, and enjoy your food without feeling rushed. I ordered the shrimp and Swiss cheese omelette with jalapeño, and it was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The portion was generous, and it came out piping hot and surprisingly fast considering how busy they were. The coffee was amazing too rich, fresh, and exactly what you want with a hearty breakfast. What really stood out was the service. The servers were attentive, friendly, and on top of everything despite the crowd. They made sure coffee stayed filled, checked in at the right moments, and kept things moving smoothly without making it feel rushed or chaotic. Another big plus: the prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and portion sizes. It's rare to find a place that balances great food, fast service, cozy ambiance, and affordability this well. Overall, I'd easily rate it around 4.5 stars. If you're driving along Highway 101 or anywhere near Brookings, this spot is absolutely worth the stop. It's busy for a reason great food, great vibe, and great service all in one place.
