Boyfriend ordered the country fried steak and eggs with home fries and I ordered the cowboy with Hashbrowns. Both dishes were delicious and more than enough for 2 people. A full for a country fried steak has 2 pieces and a half has 1 piece. Even with the half, it's a lot of food. The gravy was good. Service was good despite the place being busy. OH My God! A peanut Butter Bacon burger!!! I last tasted one of these gems at the Henry Ford restaurant in Michigan. What a surprise to find on at the coast. My hat is off the chef. it was delightful. I was almost in a food coma after that burger. and the crinkle fries were the perfect side car! You even have some limited views in the window seats! our waitress was so nice and loved my enthusiasm over the PB bacon Burger, or thought I was nuts, its a toss up. read more

A great place for a good solid American breakfast ... though it has a somewhat corporate chain feel, as a breakfast place, Foxy's is great. My favorite is the fisherman's breakfast: 3 eggs with ham, bacon, sausage, hash browns and pancakes -- accompanied by Twinings tea - Earl Grey for me. Not very pleased. Service is very bad, waiting time 20+ minutes just for acknowledgement and a menu. Coffee cups were dirty with old coffee splatters and silverware was spotty. The food is sometimes good and sometimes bad depending on the mood of the chef. The owner Jamie never has enough wait staff and she and another waitress work the floor, deliver meals etc. Also I have to say with an ocean view, right on the beach, the windows are so dirty with kids grimy hand prints and other smears so the view is unpleasant. Just okay breakfast @ Foxy's Restaurant in Brookings, OR. First time patrons for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Its convenient location brought us in. Staff were nice enough. Older worn booths showed its age. Crumbs on seats and floor. Food was just okay. Hollandaise sauce on the Crab Benedict was disappointing, but real crab was used, and the English muffin was perfectly toasted. Pleasantly surprised with the side of fruit. This is everything you would expect from an independently owned diner. Since it's right near the water, many of the tables have great little window views of the harbor. There is also an attached store that you can shop in with trinkets and souvenirs. The food was solid diner food. It was enjoyable enough. Where we had some issues was the wait time. They were busy, but not overly so. We came on a weekend morning and waited a while before being seated. The area in which we were sitting in had some tables that had food, but many were sitting around, waiting to order. And we waited, and waited, and waited. We did get water right away so that was great, but just trying to get coffee and juice took a long time. Some of the tables were getting a little bit frustrated because not only had an order not been placed, but we didn't even have drinks besides water. And one of the waitresses got a little snappy when somebody said something at a different table mentioned the wait. When we finally got our waitress (a different one), everything improved a lot. She was efficient and friendly, and once we placed our order, things started moving. It was just that initial wait and the other waitress who was working in the area. impacted our experience. This is not a turn off. I think it's solid food and a solid establishment. I would definitely come back to try it again. read more

It has been about a year since we had lunch here. We decided to give it another try, since the last visit was underwhelming. Service was slow. If you are in a hurry or expect prompt service, just skip it. It shouldn't be a 15 min wait to order food. My hot pastrami sandwich came on bread. Historically those are served on a roll. My fries were barely warm and the thick sliced pastrami was very salty. A man came in and sat directly behind us, and proceeded to listen to his phone with the volume up. So rude! Nothing was said to him by the waitress. That's what an ear bud is for. I was so annoyed by the entire thing. I wouldn't give it another try or recommend it either. I also witnessed a customer getting up two different times to get tableware then hot sauce. It's too bad that the restaurant doesn't match its location. read more

I've been here twice. Both times the wait was extremely long. The first time after 25 minutes with no menus, I got up to get them myself. The second time we were on an hour lunch break and after 30 mins the waitress still didn't take our order so we had to leave. The food is not great and the owner is rude. She was our waitress the first time we went. There was no excuse for poor service either because there was hardly anyone there. This time when I came to Foxy's the wait was long and when the omelette finally arrived (garlic chicken, mushroom, and Swiss cheese) the chicken tasted like it had been in the fridge for a long time. I believe I am unusually sensitive to the taste of old chicken so it may not be as bad for anyone else. The home fries also seemed "off". Went there on Friday morning at 9am. Got served at 10am. Biscuits were dense and hard. Kind of reminded me of the white bread we would get in C-Rations. The only positive experience for breakfast was our waitress. We sat in a booth for the ocean view but my sight was drawn to the large amount of dry rot on the window frame right next to our table. One of the booth bench seats had a huge piece of foam missing. This used to be an upscale venue and it was sad to see what it has become. We do not usually eat breakfast out but Foxy's was suggested by someone we knew. Sadly we invited out-of-town guests to join us there. All of this could be overlooked if the food was good. Foxy's is definitely a little gem in the town of brookings. The food there never disappoints. I am a personal fan of the chicken fried steak and eggs. But every time I branch out, I am always happy with my choice. Jamie and her staff are great people. They really make you feel like you are part of the family. Pretty disappointing! Everyone said to try the breakfast here so I took company from out of town here, only to be disappointed.... The service was horrible. From the wait time to get drinks and food, and no offer to refill coffees, no asking if we wanted anything else. Then when she brought the check, we had to wait to pay for a considerable amount of time. The food was fine. So I guess if you have two or three hours to kill for breakfast, give it a try.
