The first clue that this was not a great choice was the cash only sign on the register and I regretted not leaving then. The service was worse than spotty. Several other customers had to ask for their food while we were waiting for our order because their order was both delayed and in one case misplaced. When our food finally came we were missing one person's order, and they had to go back and make it. The hash browns tasted off as if they had been cooked on a dirty grill. There was a young child (6-8 years old) working in the open kitchen and delivering food. Overall it was dirty, crowded, and unpleasant. My husband was so unhappy that we ended up going somewhere else to get him something to eat. read more

If in Brookings area a must try is Fely's. Fely's is a small café off of 101 just south of Brookings. It is located in a small strip mall behind the Chevron gas station. I ordered a cheeseburger, the lady had a ball of meat that is easily a half pound if not more and smashes it down. It was seasoned perfectly to taste the beef. First time here. Tried their breakfast and was surprised that the prices were so high and the portions were average. Food was good, but not great. Atmosphere does not exist and a lot of things are self-serve (sugar, milk for coffee, etc.) That part is okay, but when paying $3.50 for coffee or tea, cup should be refilled automatically. Bill for one breakfast of eggs, toast, hash browns, and another breakfast of eggs, hash browns, bacon (although you get 5 pieces) and toast was $33 not including tip. Seemed awfully high to us..... There's a couple of ladies that run the place and it's open every single day. It's a small place with a cafeteria like atmosphere.. It looks like a favorite of the locals here. Is there. I ordered eggs sausage hash Browns and toast. I also had some coffee to go with it. I was very pleased to see that I had 3 eggs and an ample amount of sausage and hash Browns. The amount of food you get for your money is ridiculous. My burger and fries could have, literally, fed a family of 4. The burger was literally the size of my plate and topped with 4 slices of cheese and, oh, like a quarter pound of bacon. Maybe that's where the name comes from. YES the small burger is huge and very tasty too... $6.50 with cheese and grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles.... Its a little dive place that sits pretty much on the ocean... the staff is very friendly and they seem have a group of regular people who come to eat every day. The burger meat is fresh and grilled to perfection. Honestly when it was delivered to me I just stared at it for about 5 mins to try to decide how to tackle it. I was very proud of myself I ate 1/2 of it.... You can get take out and you could cross the parking lot and sit on the beach and eat your burger. This review is for just the laundromat. I have only ever been to one other laundromat nastier than this one. The attendants are doing a lot of laundry, but I have never seen them wipe down a machine or a table, sweep the floors, or any other semblance of cleaning. There are alot of machines and almost all are in working order, but it does not validate how unclean this place is. With a little effort this place could be much better.
