We didn't necessarily do much when we were in Brookings, Oregon, but we did stop by Compass Rose Cafe and it was one of the best steps yet. They are a smaller cafe so you can expect to wait for a table on the weekend. We originally opted for the food to go because we weren't sure if there would be a table available, but things worked out and we were able to eat here surrounded by all the whimsy knick knacks. I opted for the half size biscuits and gravy with an added patty on top and my husband opted for their monster burrito. Both entrees had great flavor and the staff was very hospitable and friendly. There is plenty of street parking and they also have a small parking lot available. Overall, Compass Rose Cafe is worth a stop if you're in the area and want to relax with some good food!
