I just read several reviews. Kind of disheartening to see several 1 stars. So glad I did not read reviews here before going. It's obvious they either improved or less critical people have been here. My experience was perfect! Quick friendly service, plenty of room in the patio on a divine afternoon, very tasty food, reasonable prices, unlimited chips, free upgrade to their macho salsa from the default mild salsa. Food is not good at all. I hate fast food, I NEVER want to go to Taco Bell/Del Taco. But, I honestly would have preferred that to this, and it would have cost a fraction of what this did. I got the vegetarian burrito without cheese to make it vegan, and my partner got the Pollo al a Crema. With tip, it was $40. Both meals were insanely bland. My "burrito" was entirely flat, with only some soggy mushrooms inside, swimming in some juicy flavorless pinto beans. One of the worst Mexican food restaurants I've been to. Can't speak on decor or service, as we asked for our food to go. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food tastes like white people who think boiled chicken and white rice is flavorful, who have never tasted mexican or Tex-mex tried to make it from photos. read more

Where to start... my mom's silverware was tossed to her on the table. We received forks. It took 25 minutes at least for our drink order to be taken. The waitress was not friendly at all. We waited an hour for our food, which did not all come out at the same time. Two of our drinks never came out. Our tamales had zero chicken and all masa!! First time there on Thursday to meet a new friend for lunch. I live down in Crescent City, She is from Smith River and a regular patron. It took forever to get seated, there was no one up front seating, or manning the register. A woman waiting to place her order left after waiting for 5 minutes. Later, I got seated, my friend joined me and the service was spot on and maybe a bit overkill. I think I arrived right at or near shift change at 1PM. The waitress that served me brought the food out, but then a man took over our table and was out checking on us often. And though he was pleasant, it may have been a bit too much. I asked him if we needed to leave? We were just eating slow and then I was drinking my horchata and water. My friend and I were just getting to know each other and talking. I had ordered the fish salad. Which frankly was not all that awesome. But it was fresh fish and greens. I will order something different next time I am there. Their other traditional mexican dishes looked and smelled amazing. The seating was in a far back room which was quieter and I really appreciated that since we were there to talk. It's a nice restaurant with ample seating for large groups and plenty of parking. However, the food and the service were basic to say the least. This dish looks really appetizing, right? Nope, not all. The shrimp, veggies and rice-n-beans were all flavorless. The best part was the tequila sauce. I ordered a chicken crunchy taco and a shredded beef (very chewy) enchilada. Both were super basic with no flavor. When I got my dish, there were rice & beans and I told the waitress I didn't want the dinner combo, just those 2 items. Panchos always hits the spot for us if it is a lunch, dinner or even breakfast on weekends now! You must try their Chorizo breakfast egg burrito and those country potatoes; it is so delicious. This comes from a restaurant snob. For dinner my favorite is Chille relleno and Seafood Burrito, yummy. Service is always prompt and friendly, their photo booth is awesome, kids love it, then we have pictures on our fridge with sweet memories. The atmosphere is warm and very family friendly. We had dinner on a Saturday evening expecting a wait ahead of us. We were sat down immediately and with no ugly glances because we have a service dog (that's the main reason we don't eat out very often). The restaurant is very clean with a welcoming feel. Food was completely amazing, on point, and served quickly. Our server Mandy and her helper were the best! Constantly making sure our experience was awesome. Meh. I've had better. Carne asada (Pancho's Customer favorite) was super thin, no flavor, and not tender. Certainly not marinated like most Mexican restaurants. My wife said that her carne asada tacos were good. Avocados were fresh. Service started out very friendly but it took a while to get a knife for my meal (which I couldn't eat without) and when we had empty drink glasses, no effort was made to refill. The albondigas soup and shredded beef burrito were good. Great flavors and filling meals with good portion sizes! However, I am use to the soup having more than just meatballs, I like chunks of carrots or potatoes red. Regardless the broth was great. The staff/servers were very friendly and helpful.
