First time here. Did not have a good experience and emailed the owner twice but never got a reply. No reason to return if the owner can't provide reliable customer service which is identical to what we experienced with our server. We then realized that there was a seasonal crab menu. Our server never told us about the special menu. I would have easily ordered the whole crab or seafood tower (I forget what it's called but it had scallops, crab, sirloin, etc.). Our meals came out, patty melt, cheeseburger, fish and chips, and crispy oyster appetizer. Wait...what? Why didn't the crispy oyster come out with the shooter? Oh...because our server gave us a meal instead of the appetizer since it had a pile of French fries with it and we were charged for it! Overall, the meals were good. Our daughter enjoyed her patty melt. My crispy oysters and fish and chips were OK, nothing to write home about. Also, the server did not ask how I wanted my fish and chips since the menu offers them deep fried or grilled. They came deep fried. Either way is fine with me but if there is an option, the server should know that and ask. After our meals, we ordered two slices of brown butter cake and instead were served two pieces of mile high chocolate cake. At this point, it was useless to complain to the unattentive server. The lady that first had to go to the front for something else may not have seemed the friendliest but our server was really nice and prompt. We'd been driving for several hours and had many more to go when we stopped nearby for gas and to take a break in general. I figured we were near the beach and wanted to get some seafood. After looking at a few places I came back to this one because the menu looked good. Most delicious, fresh caught seafood. Rockfish and Dungeness crab are in season and that's what we ordered up. I recommend the crab tacos with salsa because they are so delicious. The grilled rock fish was a little crunchy on the outside, very scrumptious, and moist inside with mashed potatoes and butter floating in the middle madhec hole. I'm talking Yum Yum! We were told it would be 25 minutes to be seated and we decided to wait since the reviews were glowing. We weren't seated until 45 minutes later. If we knew it would have taken that long, we would have just gone somewhere else. Finally, we were seated at a table next to a large party. We felt pretty neglected by our server the whole evening because she was busy taking care of them. It was hard to get anyone's attention to order and get drink refills. What you're eating tonight was swimming this morning in the ocean!I I ordered the fish and chips and yes, the fish is going to be Rock Fish, but they had a grilled option. I could also substitute the french fries for their clam chowder for $3. Sold. I never had Rock Fish, but it's a very mild fish and they had an excellent seasoning used when grilling. It was moist, it was tasty, and the seasoning, just a slight kick to it that was perfect. In addition, they gave me plenty of it! The cup of clam chowder was absolutely delicious. The best I've ever had, this includes my trips to florida, maine, san francisco, ireland, san diego and we live just north of malibu. Hands down get this clam chowder. For small fee, they'll also put fresh shrimp on top of it. I wish I would have done that too. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures, because I was too hungry and I ate it all up too fast! I had a very cold kendall jackson chardonnay for 9 dollars to wash it down with. The only plus I'd give this place is the price. I got the grilled rockfish and salad for $22, my brother got the rockfish dinner for $25. We also had popcorn shrimp for $11. Our food was okay. There wasn't anything wrong... but there wasn't anything that good either. You can probably do better at home. Our fish was bland, and the sides were rather basic. I was excited to find this place with a decent price. I was even more excited when the place was packed. I thought that would mean good things. It didn't. I'll go back but hope they take the clams of their menu until they get a MUCH better delivery of Clams. FOOD POISONING! We eat here at the suggestion of our hotel during our 1-day road trip through Oregon. We were grateful they had a dog friendly patio for my Service Dog. The services was good but they rushed us through every detail. The food looked good and tasted good but I have never been so sick in my life. Threw up from 11:00PM until 3:00AM. I won't post photos or video but you can image. I do NOT recommend this restaurant for its "fresh" seafood. The mashed potatoes need an overhaul. Unfortunately, we had to wait longer than necessary to place our order when the staff focused more on patrons with to-go orders. Once our order was in, the wait time to receive our food was minimal. In fact, we just started eating our salads when they brought out our tacos... which was rather off putting actually. So needless to say, we didn't wait too long to eat our tacos so we could enjoy them while they were still warm. Service could have been better. Food was good. The restaurant itself was on the smaller side, at least the front room was, but aesthetically pleasing with tables appropriately spaced out and coastal inspired artwork throughout.
